Obama and McCain in the Senate

As first noted by NBC's Mike Viqueira and Ken Strickland, Obama and McCain were on Capitol Hill today for Senate votes. At about 12:08 pm ET, McCain came over after voting to shake hands with Obama.

They stood together, along with Sens. Ken Salazar (D) and Ben Nelson (D), and chatted for several minutes -- joined by various other senators from time to time.

At several points, Obama reached over and grasped McCain on the shoulder. When McCain left, another friendly shoulder grab.

What a pile of crap....Obama the Man's Man. You guys are pathetic.
The two front-runners talking about the campaign to come in the fall...? Check out more primary info at http://undecidedvoters.blogspot.com/
The latest poll out of Wisconsin, released earlier this afternoon, have Obama up 11% against Clinton. This could be a big get for him if it is confirmed in the coming days, as it would fulfill the February sweep.
Is Senator Clinton not in the Senate today?  Is she not going to cast a vote on the FISA surveillance bill?  She cannot claim she did not have enough notice.  If she is present, MSNBC should report it.  If she isn't, MSNBC should report that too.

Where's Hillary for her Senate Vote?
McCain and Obama showed up to vote on the telecom bill.  Hillary didn't even show up.  This is bout our privacy, people.
Looks like Obama learned his 'inexperienced' lesson about snubbing opponents (although I have my serious doubts there was any previous snubbing).

Was the lavish shoulder grabbing calculated or normal ...we may never know for sure?
Elliot,

Better a man's man, than an adulterer's wife
This isn't news. They both dislike slash and burn politics.  Everybody knows it.  I hope the campaign this fall is about issues but there are crazies on all sides who have their own agenda.
Well they were there to vote for one of the most important bills in a long time and Hillary was not there for it.
Interesting that Obama showed up to vote on the telecom immunity bill, while Hillary skipped it.  Where are all those people who complain that Obama doesn't vote now?
LMAO, Elliot, why the cynicism?
The only way that McCain is going to win is if he puts Romney as the vice president.  I have to say that I am surprised to see Huckabee doing so well since Romney suspended his campaign.  Huckabee was the one that was taking away votes from Romney.  He's probably getting the voters that feel anyone is better than McCain.  McCain/Romney ticket is the only way that the Republican party is going to win in November.  Romney's supporters miss him and they would rather wait for 2012 than vote for Mccain. People that still need to vote, vote for Romeny. He can still collect delegates.  He didn't withdraw from the race, he just suspended it. We need him for VP!
That was nice. All in all, these people still have to work together, win or lose.
A McCain vs Obama election would be such a relief. They both strongly condemn negative and deceitful advertising. Although I still expect 527s to be active, I think the tone of the candidates would be refreshingly civil.
She will try to use his non vote on Kyl-Lieberman as the answer to him.  As an Obama supporter, I do know that he got screwed by Harry Reid on that vote, but that will be her response if he brings it up.

Still, it is telling that there is a primary going on in DC and she's over a thousand miles away today.
