Clinton congratulates, swats at Obama

Posted: Wednesday, February 13, 2008 5:11 PM by Domenico Montanaro

From NBC/NJ's Athena Jones
MCALLEN, Texas, Feb. 13 -- Hillary Clinton congratulated rival Obama on his primary wins, but said she was well-positioned in this race and that the back-and-forth fight for delegates had always been expected.

"I want to congratulate Sen. Obama on his recent victories and tell him to meet me in Texas," she told reporters after a rally here in this majority-Hispanic border town.

The senator was spending the day campaigning in the must-win, delegate-rich state, after suffering a string of losses to Obama. When asked to respond to the big margin wins the Illinois senator was able to muster in Virginia and Maryland, Clinton said her losses there had been expected and noted that her husband had also lost Maryland in the primaries.

"We go on. We're ready for the contests that are upcoming. There are hundreds of delegates that will be in play on March 4th. We are well-organized and well-positioned," she said, adding it was a long and winding road to the nomination and the key was reaching 2,025 delegates and she had a plan to do so.

When pressed on how she would overtake Obama in the delegate count given the large margins she would have to win by, Clinton suggested his margins had been expected, saying it was what she "always thought would happen."

"We are very well positioned to compete in these big states and that's what I intend to do," she said, adding that she believed this race was less about process and more about who has the better ideas.

"I understand Sen. Obama is going to be giving a speech some time today in Wisconsin about his economic plan. I don't know how you have an economic plan that really is focused on delivering solutions for 21st Century America if you don't have a universal healthcare plan. I don't know how you have an economic plan if you don't take on the problems in the housing market and have an aggressive plan to end the foreclosures and freeze the interest rates. He does not."

More: "I just think when you look at the contrasts here, it's a difference between promises and solutions. It's a difference between questions and answers."

She again mentioned she had challenged Obama to debate her in Wisconsin.

When asked about reports about internal bickering and power struggles within the campaign, Clinton said that wasn't what was going on. She also said she wasn't planning on making another loan to her campaign.

Could somebody tell me exactly what public elected position(s) Clinton has held besides her current one. I am trying to compare here public record against Obama.
I am very surprized by the animosity in these blogs among the supporters. This is a great country that we live in and that gives us the right to disagree but we could do it in a civil manner.

The easy way 'Obama' can win is consistently state a clear fact - that both Hillary and Mcain…the most experienced candidates (does being adjacent to a president count) in the field have made monumental mistakes on national security 'Iraq'. Did all their years of experience lead them to that unmistakebly incorrect conclusion on the biggest policy decision in their lives. What gives that they will not make such monumentally naive mistakes again.

I like all 3 of them..but this is a clear difference that does not bode well for Hillary and Mcain

God bless America
Freeze interest rates......... sounds like price freezing, when was the last time that idea worked...oh! I remember NIXON.
Hillary Clinton is a fighter.  She is a genius.  She is a person of principle.  That is not hyperbole-none of it.  Barack Obama is brilliant, accomplished, a visionary, capable of uniting the party and the country.  All too, not hyperbole.  Let us be glad to have such Dems poised to lead.  I know I am.
GO HILLARY!!!  WHEN THE GOING GETS TOUGH, THE TOUGH GET GOING.  YOU HAVE MANY SUPPORTERS IN NEW JERSEY.

I LOVE THE WAY THE DEMOCRATS STICK TOGETHER AND TRY TO THROW YOU TO THE CURB.  IF ANYTHING, THEY ARE RUINING ANY CHANCE TO CLOSE THE GAPS WITHIN THE PARTY.  IT IS OBVIOUS TO SEASONED VOTERS THAT THE KENNEDYS, ET AL, RALLY AROUND OBAHAMA SO THEY CAN PULL HIS STRINGS.  THEY ARE GIVING YOU A HARD TIME BECAUSE, UNLIKE OBAMA, YOU ARE NO ONE'S PUPPET.

WE ARE WITH YOU. GO GIRL!!!
Of course Clinton want a debate . . . . .Haven't they already done this, many times I might add.  The looser always want to debate over and over again so they can clarify/change their position.  She thought this would happen all along, give me a break. She campaigned just as hard in some of those areas. Is that what she thinks the people want to hear?
The Clinton Machine math is so 20th century.  Hillary and Bill have been just too damn dismissive of all those little caucus and primary states.  Hillary couldn’t even thank all those who voted for her in Virgina, Maryland, and D.C. before she darted off to El Paso, TX.  Then, rather than congratulate Barack Obama for his wins, as all second-place candidates always do, NOT EVEN AN ACKNOWLEDGEMENT of anything?!?  How rude!

Their entire attitude about all this makes them real losers in my book. Rather than just relying on the so-called big states and super delegates, they need to do the new 21st century math of Barack Obama. And, with all due respect, another lesson of this election cycle I hope Hillary supporters especially learn is that not only do we deserve the government we get, but also, part of the individual responsibility of citizens in a participatory democracy is to educate themselves on the important issues of our day rather than follow blindly as the lazy zombies we’ve become.  As an English teacher, I always preached this to my students:  “If you don’t think for yourselves, there’s always someone who will do it for you.”  Again, wake up, America!  Not just the Bush family, but the Clintons are also messing with your minds.

Barack Obama’s campaign is a wake-up-America movement built on a vision of the country we will become if we can rise above the old politics that parses us into separate groups and puts us as odds with one another.  As a born-again boomer for Obama, a newly-retired teacher with 35 years of service to our nation’s kids, a parent, and a grandparent, I do not believe Hillary Clinton is the solution to our problems.  Instead, she is part of the problem.

Only Barack Obama has the best set of skills to unify this country, rally the Congress to work together to bring about real change in all segments of our daily lives, and lead this country in a new direction with the right moral compass to change hearts here at home and all over the world.

Shtuey,

Do you really want to start comparing the lobbyist haul and/or ethical challenges of Obama and Clinton? That, my friend, is a sword you're grabbing by the blade.  Unfortunately, my vote won't mean squat because McCain is "unlikely" to lose Arizona, but you should get off those HRC talking points pretty quick because there is not enough room (Norman Hsu, Rose Law Firm billing records, Papers for the Clinton Library to name a few) to go over Senator Clinton's lobbyist/donor/ethical challenges.
This one is really good - from LisaMpls

"Enough twisting of the facts, Sen. Obama.

Hillary has said numerous times that she would call for an end to the tax code incentives given to businesses that ship jobs overseas.
How does Barack plan to enforce his mandate that all children have healthcare? Go after wages? He hasn't even said. Why not??

In Wisconsin today, Barack proposed n plan to improve infrastructure and create green collar jobs, something Hillary has already done. I believe she even introduced a bill and has Senators co-sponsoring it, but I'm not positive. Anyways, to pay for this plan, Barack said the funds would come from ending the war in Iraq.

Is it possible to fund something by ending the war in Iraq? The budget that Bush proposes to Congress every year does not include funding for the war.
Ending the war means that we won't go farther into debt. Ending the war does not, however, mean that there will be extra cash on hand to pay for these programs.
In other words, if Barack were President, he would have to include these new programs in his proposed budget. There would be no reduction in spending in the budget to account for these new programs. Am I missing something?"

No you're not Lisa, it's Barack who does not yet understand what his advisers drew up for him to read.
The Clintons are largely irrelevant now and they can call for all the debates they want, just as Mike Huckabee can call for whatever he wants from McCain...that doesn't mean anyone will pay attention to them.

Hillary started as the inevitable nominee...she started with an ex-husband's legacy to help her...she started with 100 million dollars...

Despite all those advantages, she has managed to mess her campaign up to the point of irrelevance.  It's eerily reminiscent of Bush and Katrina...all the impetus in the world and somehow manages to mess it up.

I don't want someone leading my country who is so inept as to completely destroy all the advantages she started with.

It shows how ill prepared she really is to run this country.

The Clintons will continue to fight of course...and they will have some wins along the way.  In the process of that, I have seen who I will vote for as a Dem and what I'll do if the wrong candidate is nominated.

And I'll do it for my country.  At least McCain is an honorable man.
Hillary Clinton keeps fighting the good fight. She may be down, but is never out.

That's one of the things I respect and like about her so much.
Hillary Clinton is "HONEST"?  Really? Oh man either you've been living in a cave or it's just feel good to be in denial.  The Clintons are mastered at parsing, that's why she doesn't take stands on anything.

Hillary in a solution business?  Oh, with that "35 years" worth of experience?

Well, how that "35 years" worth of experience led her to:
1. Authorize the war in Iraq.  She didn't even bother to read the NIE report. She did her own research & still came up with a wrong one. Oh..you can scream because she was lied to.  No she wasn't! She knew exactly what's going to happen & she did it for political decision.  How on earth 35 years of experience can justify a decision that says "Let's postpone taking Osama Bin Laden and take a detour & kill Saddam Hussein in Iraq instead & let the military officers police the civil wars."

2. For somebody who has 35 years of experience who's been in and out of campaigns from her husband's are still out funded by "inexperienced" candidate who doesn't even take PAC & federal lobbyists money to boot! Where that 35 years of experience go?

3. She said she led on Healthcare, well, she sure did. But what did she learn? She came out last with her healthcare plan & then have the nerve to copy John Edwards' plan & claimed it as her own?  That's leadership?

4. She has 35 years of experience and can't stick with a message for her campaign? First, inevitable, experience, experience to change, ready to lead on day one, turn up the heat, did I leave anything?

5. She doesn't have a backbone of her own.  Had to have Bill Clinton defending her, Oh Healthcare didn't work because of his fault not hers. Anything that's good on Bill Clinton presidency was because of Hillary, any failure was because of Bill.  NICE..... She has to wait until he really screwed up to shut him up!!  Well, I wish he's out there more screwing things up.

6. Her 35 years of experience led her to VOTE FOR No Child Left Behind.

7. Her 35 years of experience didn't make her learn from her husband's chinese donation scandal & had her own Norman Hsu's donation scandal.  How come you don't learn?

8. People who haven't been paying attention from the beginning may fall for the crying 2 days before elections (not once, but twice!), but not me.

9. People who haven't been paying attention from the beginning may fall for the cackling based on poll, not me...

10.  When you have to cackle & cry on purpose to get votes, that shows you don't have an ounce of authenticity in you and I'm sick of it!!!

11.  Hillary Clinton & her campaign make fun of the young people and voters since before Iowa caucuses.  They insulted them as people who only go to rallies & will never vote.  Now that they know young people came out and vote, they kissed the youngens' asses.

That's WHY I WILL NEVER VOTE FOR THE CLINTONS!!  NO LEADERSHIP whatsover.

If it comes down to McCain & Hillary in the general, this democrat will vote for McCain.

"What is this about freezing interest rates.  Is that somehow a power granted to the President that I am unaware of?  Not to mention what a ridiculous idea it is..."

Indeed, it doesn't get more ridiculous than that. What about flippers and speculators? And who's going to help those defaulting on prime mortgages?

Hillary is making too many damn crazy promises: I'll halt foreclosure - I'll give healthcare to all Americans - I'll stop the Iraq war - I'll catch Osama in Afghanistan - I'll unite America... Jeeze!
Since you guys find it sooo terribly hard to put positive Clinton items on here, I'll do it for you...
btw, MSNBC people need to start acting like real journalists again rather than Obama campaigners!  You've gone from being my favorite news channel to next to FOX on the bottom.  (and I know I'm not alone)

Former Ohio Senator and astronaut John Glenn announced his endorsement of Hillary Clinton today.

"With all of the challenges facing Ohio and America, we need a leader who can deliver real solutions on her first day in office," Senator Glenn said.

"Hillary Clinton will immediately go to work turning around our economy and rebuilding the middle class. She has the strength and experience to take on the Republicans in November and win Ohio and the White House."

Sen. Glenn was the third American to fly in space aboard the Friendship 7 in 1962, and received the Congressional Space Medal of Honor in 1978. After retiring from NASA, Sen. Glenn served the people of Ohio in the United States Senate from 1974 to 1999, the longest tenure of any Ohio Senator in history.

He began his career as a Marine Corps and Air Force pilot, flying combat missions during World War II and later Korea.

"I am deeply honored to have the support of Senator Glenn, a true American hero," Clinton said. "With his help, we'll bring our message of change across Ohio."
"I want to congratulate Sen. Obama on his recent victories and tell him to meet me in Texas,"

What a classless comment!
Is Hillary planning a shoot-out or a campaign?

At least lose with some class, Hillary... and stop trying to divide the party, just like you would divide the country if you won!!
I am from Canada and I can say here that many people I know are excited for Obama. Personally I have nothing against Hillary, but if I were American I'd go for a fresh and invigorating young leader like Obama. I believe it has been proven time and again in history that older leaders are generally disconnected from the majority of the population. Fresh young leaders like Pierre Trudeau, Kennedy and Obama, bring out passion from the citizens. Hilary has been in Washington all this time, perhaps this is nothing to brag about since Washington is not known for its close ties with ordinary Americans. Take a chance Americans, I believe you will have made a truly wise choice in Obama.
Why do we need another debate to hear the same over and over again? Hillary is full of anger and hate and it is transferring it to her followers. Women are smarter than that.
Is this a DYNASTY thing going on? Because she wants to go to the White House NOW!!, not later. Just after Bush,so it's about the Bush and Clintons, Oh, I get it NOW!
we need more debates: Look around this RACE is all about RACE....same old tune, same old story. It is just a differant on a differant station this time.
Go, Hillary Go....you go to Bill!!!!!!!!!!!
Thinking of electing Billary is horrible.
Besides all her backstabbing with the help of that husband of her. What a joke do YOu really want Bill Clinton walking the halls of the White House again,
Would you want your children there...YIPES Does anyone remember the impreachment.....wakeup people
why should obama give hillary the free exposure of a debate. she wouldn't do it for him. besides, if i heard her say "freeze interest rates" live i'd probably have a heart attack from laughing. that would be a financial disaster and she knows it. she's just pandering for votes and that's why i don't trust her. she talks out of both sides of her mouth.
Anybody that votes the the clinton's are idiots.  Do you really want Bill Clinton with his lying/cheating self back in the white house?  How dumb can you be?  Hispanics are even dumber to believe that the clintons care about you.  You're minorities just like african americans.  They need to get off their high horse like they are better than african americans and they are not.  They have gang gangers, killers, and everything else that all the other races have.  So why is it they think they are white?  They never will be and will never be treated that way and who the hell wants to be white anyway?  Vote Obama, because he is the better candidate, not because of anything else.  Who the hell has experience to run a whole country anyway.  How do you muster experience on your resume for that?  You don't.
wise up america-doesnt matter what side the fence your on--promises for solutions, bad mouthing between parties we all know whats wrong-how to fix things is another matter and can they? after 57 years on this earth i havent seen alot of progrss,i worry about this country. pick of the lesser evils , some choice! i nominate Dave Ramsey
O-BA-MA! O-BA-MA! O-BA-MA! I am voting for the "mindset" of Obama.  Clearly, he understands the voice and the cries of the American People obviously clamoring for "Change".  It's the "mindset" that I feel is needed to accomplish the long and tedious journey ahead. and with that said....O-BA-MA! O-BA-MA! O-BA-MA!
Which candidate is best for America? The U.S. Chamber of Commerce gives Brack Obama the lowest rating of any of the three major contenders for the Presidency, behind Senator Hillary Clinton  and Senator John Edwards.
Wake up America, look at the facts. I can't believe how this many people can be taken in by a man giving a pretty speech with no substance.
It's gonna get dirty.  The Clintons can't stand the fact that this intelligent young man is going to snatch the nomination from her greedy hands.  She can complain all she wants to about Obama's plans...the fact is she won't get any of her plans through because so many people dispise her.  I am a republican who will vote for Obama this year!
Wow Hillary is full of it, she expected to run away with the nomination but now she's in a dog fight.Hillary's flipflopping is getting out of hand as well and by the way I thought Obama had affordable health care for all US citizens which is not mandated like Clinton's plan.

Typical Hillary Clinton! Gives with one hand and takes back with another! Just hope that Obama can keep his winning streak going! Maybe the Dems are waking up to the reality of Hillary's high negatives!
The following information gathered from the Library of Congress on the Legislative experience Junior Senator Hillary Clinton and Junior Senator Barack Obama. Please Feel free to check these records for yourself and draw your own conclusion.

Senator Clinton, who has served only one full term, which is 6 years and another year campaigning, has authored and passed 20 twenty pieces of legislation in her term of six years into law. These bills can be found at (wwwhomas.loc.gov).  Senator Clinton has passed.

(18) Assist landmine victims in other countries.
(19) Assist family caregivers in accessing affordable respite care.
(20) Designate part of the National Forest System in Puerto Rico as protected in the wilderness preservation system.

She has a nice list, but note that these are The Fact's straight from the Senate Record; Therefore, it is not made up.

Now, It is time to post Senator Obama's record from the Library of Congress.I have to mention that Senator Obama's list is too substantive, one is coalesced to categorize. Since its alot, remember you can go to the Library of Congress website, and check it out yourself, but I am just summarizing his first 8 months.

During Senator Obama's first 8 eight months of elected service he sponsored over 820 bills.

He introduced 233 bills regarding healthcare reform,
125 bills on poverty and public assistance,
112 bills on crime fighting,
97 economic bills,
60 human rights and anti-discrimination bills,
21 ethics reform bills,
15 gun control,
6 veterans affairs and many others.
In his first year in the U.S. Senate, he authored 152 bills and co-sponsored another 427. These included:
(1)the Coburn-Obama Government Transparency Act of 2006 that became LAW,
(2)The Lugar-Obama Nuclear Non-proliferation and Conventional Weapons Threat Reduction Act that became LAW, (3)The Comprehensive Immigration Reform Act that passed the Senate,
(4)The 2007 Government Ethics Bill that became LAW,
(5)The Protection Against Excessive Executive Compensation Bill that is in committee just to name a few.

In all since he entered the U.S. Senate, Senator Obama has written 890 bills and co-sponsored another 1096. An impressive record, for someone who supposedly has no legislative record.  Read the facts and not emotion.

HRC wants more debates to avail herself of free air time, and also taking out Barack from the field where he is most effective. Let the current underdog chase the master dog's tail.... here boy.... here boy.... (or girl?).. looses the punch...lol
John J. Jackson, Madison,Wi. (Sent Wednesday, February 13, 2008 5:41 PM)
Take a breath and turn your capslock off John. No need to shout. It would be news if she WASN"T demanding debates. Candidates that are ahead talk to the voters. Candidates that are behind demand debates and talk to the hand. There have been a dozen debates and there are more scheduled that will be televised.
Catch your breath yet?
Obama would be quite a change from the clown posse that has been running this country for the last 8yrs.
However, on the replblican side, it could have been alot worse if Romney or Huckabee won.  Mccain, if he stands up for what he believes and doesnt bend over for the right should do ok as well
Joe Klein's piece in Time magazine "Inspiration vs Substance" had a cartoon like pic of Hillary carrying stacks and stacks of books and Obama flying over head in a super-suit writing "dream"...how the truth shines in this little scene! Obama wants the trophy where Hillary wants the JOB! Hard work is a stable of hers and even her detractors have said so. One reason she wins the debates, she's prepared. She's "ready"! The audacity of ego to run after only 18 months of hard work is insulting after a G.W. Bush white house! Expeience is what truly counts! "Right on day one"????Who can promise such a thing and be honest about it?! The most we can hope for is "ready on day one" and that she is America...Hillary '08
Well,  we now see that if there is a Clinton white house part II that it will be just like part I -- full of lies and half truths.  She said that she expected this??? What--- she is the heir apparent and predicted that it would all be over after Super Tuesday.

I have always supported the Clintons--- President and Governor Clinton (elected) and the First Lady Clinton-- not elected to anything before the Senate.  But these lies, half truths and politics as usual have totally turned me off.  Additionally, as a woman- I don't want the first female president to get there because she was married to a former President.  The truth is that Hilliary has "stood by her man" and now expects that America will give her the White House as a prize for sticking with a serial cheater and liar.  There marriage is a sham and I cannot in good consciousness as a feminist support a woman that has allowed a man to demean her for over 40 years with adultery and lies.  Further,  I want women to stand on their own two feet--not on the shoulders of our husbands.

I believe that the impeachment was wrong; but that the moral fabric of the Clintons is corrupt.  I believe that they will stop at nothing to regain power and that it has nothing to do with America vs. them.

The stance that Obama should--- "Meet me in Texas" is arrogant and dismissive of the rest of the country. Is Hilliary only going to be the President of the big states or is this still America?  Also notice that she does not thank the people that did waste their votes on her in MD, DC, VA and the other states that she continues to lose.   Will someone really please peel back and see the real intent.

I pray every night that Obama gets the nomination and moves this country forward as President.  I ask that Americans that love America will join me in this prayer.  This is not against Hilliary but for AMERICA and thus for the BEST candidate to lead this great country. Obama 2008--- Hope that is refreshing, brilliant and REAL!

What makes Obama the underdog? Is it becasue his Mom was an Atheist? or maybe because his Father and step-father were both Muslims? It acn't be because he went to private shcools as a youngster. or maybe because his Mom was a single parent for a minute between marriages?

I'd find it very helpful if you'd provide a total number of superdelegates pledged to each candidate.
Maryann, I totally agree with your assessment that it's okay to be critical of Hillary, but God forbid if the media are critical of an African American. There seems to be a double standard here that's very unfair. The media doesn't confront Obama on how he's going to "change" America; they just keep on reporting about a freshman senators' "dream" campaign based only on his catchphrases and charisma. We need EXPERIENCE, which Hillary will bring to the table. If Obama were to be the Democratic candidate (which won't happen, because the superdelegates/Washington faithful will not allow this to happen), we'd only see more of the same of what's been bringing this country down over the past eight years; Republican rule.
It i-s do or die time but not for Mrs. Clinton ... For Obama.

Her campaign has gone negative in Wi, if Obama is really from "Chicago Politics" ... He will call her out time after time.  He will drag her through the mud.  He will remind the citizens of these United States how "cut throat" and "U-n-d-e-r Accomplished" she really is.  He will proclaim for sea to shining sea what her candidacy truly represents:  The P-u-p-p-e-t  Presidency.

No one wants to say it but everybody knows the only thing that qualifies Mrs. Clinton to "Lead" on Day-1 ... is that her h-u-s-b-a-n-d is a former President and H-E will be calling the shots.  Absolutely Nothing in her 6-year Senate run indicates that she is anything more than a "follower".   Nothing in her 8-yrs as First Lady indicates that she is anything more than:   A legend in "her" own mind.  If she does become the nominee and President ... it will be a "Failed Presidency".  Even if there is a Democratic Senate/House majority she will still need to bring in Republicans to get her agenda through.  Democratic Legislators will not be able to vote straight party on policy.  They will h-a-v-e to vote the issues the way it will affect the districts and peope they represent.  What might benefit a southern state may not be beneficial to the folks in California.   On issue after issue she will have to bring in Republicans and Independents to gain a majority.  She is a N-O-T a uniter!  She is polarizing.  For all the talk about the "Glory Years" of the Clintons ... In his 2nd term there was Grid Lock in Washington.  The people who suffered for that was us.  It really doesn't matter whose to blame.  There was enough to go around.  Mrs. Clinton did n-o-t-h-i-n-g in that time to help mend the atmosphere.  She was a Major Contributor to it.  If that is the Record of EXPERIENCE she is so proud of ... This nation is better off without her.

Obama may be shallow to many here but HE IS a LEADER.  Real Leaders know that He/She does not have to be the best at what they do.  They just have to surround themselves with GOOD PEOPLE who are good at what they do and then INSPIRE THEM to achieve their goals.  If the Methods and JUDGEMENT he has used in this campaign is any indication of what an Obama Presidency would look like ... He is obviously the B-e-s-t Choice for this N-a-t-i-o-n and the Democratic Party.

He, himself, is smart.  He has surrounded himself with Good People who are, obviouly, Good at what they do.  They obviously think "Outside of the Box".  They have S-y-s-t-e-m-a-t-i-c-a-l-l-y challenged, met, competed, and by a slim margin ... Overcome a Political Dynasty.  I would think the only people who are too blind to see this are just that:  Blind Loyalist.  Obama is t-h-e Force that Must N-o-w be dealt with and not dismissed.  Even without the nomination (which I believe he will have),  he will have turned the "Establishment" on it's ear and become a Power Broker.

For all the 35-Years of Experience Mrs. Clinton talks about it has not benefited her enough in this campaign.  Her l-a-c-k of v-i-s-i-o-n and that of her team has put her in this "dog-fight" for the nomination.  Her sense of  "Entitlement" and "Condescention" to parts of the electorate has put her in this position.  She certainly has time to turn it around but over half way through this process her candidacy (considering the lofty position She once held) in hind sight has to be considered Suspect ...  If not a Failure.

Is this a Look into what Her Presidency would look like?

Just My Opinion ...
How can any mother or father endorse a man who admits he broke the law by doing blow and smoking pot. Where are the morals of this Country. Think about our children. What kind of example does this give them? Think people. S.Res.263 is devoted to fallen DEA and FBI agents that died in the line of duty. When you are voting for Obama maybe the person before you or after is a daughter, son, brother etc. of a fallen agent. How can you say that is okay. It is a felony. To brag about it is disgusting. To say it is okay is heartbreaking. Do you think he didn't buy his drugs from the guy on the corner that you roll your windows up when you see him. Or the dealer that robbed your home or carjacked you or stole you grandmothers purse. It is just not okay. It is illegal. Got it ILLEGAL. And he doesn't care if you know it cuz he's got game..If you got game to then vote for him. From now on everytime i see a women or man walking out and endorsing Obama I am going to think that he or she gots game. If ya know what I mean. There have been more lives taken by illegal drug use in the United States then were lost in 911 and all of Iraq. Your breakin my heart that you think his wholly er den dou attitude is what we need in this country. We need to hold our Presidents at a higher standard. Are you an American that supports the fact that everytime Obama bought drugs in the four years he said he did that it gave all those countries monies to use against us. Wake up.
Oh yea and for everyreason that Shtuey stated vote for anyone but Obama.
ok, all your political pundits who are writing for the sake of swaying people by your negativity, when you take the time to write a lengthy piece to attack hillary or obama..........I think...hmmmmm  that message came from their campaign people
Obama talks about how he was a community organizer and it looks like he was a very good one. Just look at how well his campaign is organized and look at Hillary's, that should tell you something at well they will be organized in the Oval office and bring this country together. Look at the turmoil within the Clinton camp! They can't get anything together. Also  look at how Hillary won't campaign in the so called small states because of the delegate count...you don't see Obama turning his back on the people from the smaller states. Is that what Hillary will do in Office, not worry about the people in the so called small states... don't let her pull the wool over your eyes....
Are you people crazy?  Do you want to pay more taxes?  Don't you realize that Government is the PROBLEM, not the solution?  Who the hell is going to pay for all the crap Obama wants to give to people?  Did you ever ask youself that?  If you have a job and are currently paying taxes, guess what?  It's you!  Now if you don't pay taxes, then I guess I can see why getting more free handouts sounds like such a good idea.
The people that support Obama are misguided due to their ignorance of the real issues at hand. If anyone can give me a logical reason as to why he should be our next President, please post it. No reatoric or catchpharses allowed, ONLY FACTS!
HRC= here's real conjecture! Her gender card is depleted and she keeps slinging the low blows. Omama , stays the course and he will defeat the low life Washington self serving paper hanger by a large margin!
If we are democrats does it really manner which Sentor wins? We should be more focus on stopping the Republic party from winning. I feel America has suffered enough, there are straving families all over America. Yes we need Medical, yes we need homes and jobs for our families. We also need our MEN AND WOMEN HOME FROM THE WAR!!!!!! The killing need to stop the War need to STOP. AMERICA NEEDS A President WHO CARES ABOUT THE AMERICAN PEOPLE. I AM FOR CHANGE!!!!
Again, media giving Obama a pass, Clinton is the most qualified person to get this economy going again as it was when the Clintons were in office. Obama's rhetoric of change does not mean anything. He has the same advisors while advocating change from the person he's trying to change from???? Dont believe the hype or we will have another republican in the White house
Shutney:
Hillary Clinton has taken more money from Wall Street than all the candidates who ran for President (inc the ones who dropped out) put together.

Now as the Sen from NY - that makes sense that her constituency supports her - but that makes your comments about people who work for Goldman Sachs constributing to Sen Obama's campaign pretty silly.

Individuals give money to political candidates - that is not a PAC, that is not lobbying money -- it is individuals. John Edwards who was vehemently against PAC money got hundreds of millions from Lawyers (ABA) - again you would expect that as he was a practicing attorney -- but he could still rightfully claim he did not take any PAC money.

If you want to get irate and worked up about Sen Obama you need to find a better way --

the web site OPENSECRETS.org is a non partisan site with all campaign contributions for every candidate- below is the link for Hillary Clinton --

All of you HRC supporters and especially those in Texas and Ohio please go to the Wall Street Journal On Line and do a search for the article "The Clintons Terror Pardons" E-Mail the link to everyone you know. It shows the lengths that the Clintons will go to to gain votes. Warning if you are a police officer as I was you will be especially upset. I don't know why this article has not gotten more wide spread eposure by the news media. Please share with everyone you know.
Maryann--  You say >>> Its ok for them to bash Clinton but when somebody says something about Obama they get called racist.<<<<

Would you care to provide an example of that?  I see a LOT of criticisms of Sen. Obama (like "liar and fraud" a few posts before this one) with no counter-charge of racism.  In fact, I actually see a lot more shrill cries of sexism and mysoginy from Clinton supporters when someone criticizes her.  ---  To their credit, neither of the candidates themselves are falling back on these tired lines very often (and, for the record, Sen. Clinton has talked about her gender *many* more times than Sen. Obama has talked about his race).  --------   Please quit just repeating and repeating these old, groundless accusations as if saying them 100 times will make them true. Anyway, it hardly supports your "be positive and we need to stick together" message.
