Huck calls McCain 'Man of integrity'

Posted: Thursday, February 21, 2008 10:18 AM by Chuck Todd

From NBC/NJ's Matthew Berger
Mike Huckabee was asked this morning about the McCain-NYT story. Here's a quick highlight:

"I only know him to be a man of integrity," he said, but Huckabee refused to answer follow-ups.

The Media's ""GOLD MINE""!!  This will be a real""FEEDING FRENZY"""
Since Huckabee has shown us lately that he is not a man of integrity, and has only stayed in this to make personal money on speeches in the Caymans and to now SELL his book on how he thinks we should do to help America.(Other candidates just put their suggestions on their websites for free.)  I don't think that his opinion on integrity means anything.  Once a televangelist always a televangelist.
To Democrats, Republicans and Independents:

Let's talk about integrity on our air waves as well.

If any of you watched Countdown with Keith Olbermann last night, he spoke of Bill O’Reilly and his use of the word “lynching” when referring to Michelle Obama’s explanation of her statement the other day regarding never being more proud of her country than she is now.  None of us need to be reminded of what the word “lynching” signifies. All you need to do is go to programs being broadcast right now On Demand. They are broadcasting the history of the Civil Rights movements and the pain & humiliation our fellow citizens had to endure just to have rights we all have had our entire life. These “fellow citizens” were school children at the time.

If we are to hold Chris Matthews and David Schuster accountable, then it is our responsibility as citizens to hold Bill O’Reilly accountable as well. What he said was hateful. His problem is he doesn’t know any better.

This is our moment to act upon Barack Obama’s message that it is us - you and I - who need to help bring upon change in this country. Nothing will happen unless we speak up.

Please send an email to Fox News/Roger Ailes to protest against this type of hateful spin. Express your disappointment and shame. And ask that Bill O’Reilly be held accountable, just like everyone else in the media needs to be.

Thank you.
The New York Times slime machine needs to answer a few follow up questions.
This is no more than a grain of salt to be stepped over. knowing the Clinton's will lay no acclaim to having any knowledge. Simple minds are working over time and pulling out all the stops. Stooping to a level of below the gutter? But why not? Being a Washington self serving paper hanger "one" would have a lot to lose! We know the slime teams are working over time and will be rewarded with appointments and anything never has hands off!
This McCain story is an interesting one but the Public Finance one will have a greater impact on the general election.  How can he challenge Obama to take public financing when he can’t follow the rules?  If he received a loan based on his application for public financing then he has already received a benefit from that application even if he turns down the actual money.  You can’t be both in and out of the public finance system at the same time, and that is just what the FEC is claiming he is trying to do.

Rules are rules… and according to the FEC McCain is attempting to break them.
Mr. McCain, 71, and the lobbyist, Vicki Iseman, 40, both say they never had a romantic relationship.

Hmmm..

Huckabee believes in a miracle..

Will the Republican party defend John McCain?

What is it with the immoral majority? they prattle and preach to the rest of us but they voted for a man in bush who was a drunk and coke snorter and married to a woman who killed a teen in an automotive accident...they let scum like ted haggerty lie to them about sex outside of marriage and using coke and then sit silent when he is exposed as a coke snorting gay sex crazed loony....you go clowns to right of me
Huckabee has always run a clean campaign. Glad to see it continuing. Romney almost forced him into a counter attack (who wouldn't want to hit back after Romney's twisted hit ads) but he quickly got back on track. McCain has not played dirty and Huckabee has not had to defend himself. Glad to see Huckabee supporting his opponent in this case. We'll see what happens. If McCain did give favors, it could be ugly. If he didn't the NY Times needs to answer for their willingness to print false charges.
Hm, what's Huckabee known that has kept him hanging on like a pesty knat?
And Obama's guys think think Clinton's guys are negative......
Huck - you know better, McCain is an adulterer without this story, no one should know that better than you (a former minister).
I am not a big fan of out right mud slinging, however, There usually has to be a hint of something.  Whether or not interpreted correctly, sometimes the very apparency of doing something wrong is enough.  This is not the first time Johnny Mac as been pegged with somewhat inappropriate behavior.  We certainly do not need that kind of example in the White House AGAIN
Takes one to know one.
Governor Mike Huckabee is a "man of integrity" and men who rise above the "gutter politics" fray are to be respected.  I am not surprised by Mike Huckabee's response to John McCain's current problem with the NYT article.  The GOP is quickly learning that they took the wrong direction when the establishment Republicans decided to support Giuliani, Romney and now McCain.  You see, true conservatives are principled people and one cannot call themselves conservative if their voting record is only 83.5% conservative.

Thank you Mike Huckabee for staying above the fray and we still want to hear your strong, principled voice on the campaign trail.  It is driving the establishment Republicans crazy and they are about to learn a valuable lesson.
This is True of McCain
Cory from Tampa,

Don't hate someone because they are good people.  Thats fine if you yourself don't have good morals, but don't accuse Huckabee, who turned Arkansas around in a big way of not being a man of integrity.

Huckabee was named as being of the top 5 Governors in America!

Huckabee is a man of morals and that is why he is still in this race!!

Obviously now that Mccain is in 2 different scandals it was a good decision by Huckabee!!
More proof that Huckabee is a man of honor himself.  He is working tremendously hard too be a spokesperson for tax reform, human life, and a strong border.

God bless him!
Get over it.  If McCain pick the proper running mate, he's going to win.  The Dems have Hillary, God help us, and Bama, all talk !!
Pat.Boston. On Oct 26,2006,Keith Olberman in his special comments labeled Republicans as ''terrorists''.[including those who had either served in Iraq or had sons and daughters serving in same]. On Feb 07,2008,he labeled the POTUS as ''standing with the terrorists''. Include this man in your condemnation when gunning for O'Reilly, who is merely another horn on the same goat.
Larkin in Woodstock. I'm hoping your post was sarcastic. But if it wasn't, Huckabee IS the establishment Republicans' choice. Because TRUE conservatives ARE the establishment.

McCain is barely a republican, and is willing to work with the other party to compromise rather than cross his arms and hold his breath until he gets it his way.

Which is what establishment conservatives do.

Which is why Huckabee is still in this race.
