McCain won't go after NYT 'anymore'

Posted: Friday, February 22, 2008 11:56 AM by Mark Murray

From NBC's Kelly O'Donnell
At a media availability in Indianapolis today, McCain said he would not talk about New York Times/lobbyist news reports or the allegations again. He said he answered questions at his press conference yesterday and stressed that he is "moving on."

He was asked to react to a White House spokesman's comments today that the Times has a record of "dropping bombshells" on Republican presidential candidates. McCain declined and when pressed that his campaign has been going after the paper, McCain responded, "not anymore."

New campaign song for the McCain's":
"When the walls come tumbling down, the walls, come tumbling down"
how sweet is that?  Very, very sweet cause I know he is probably close to Rizo (his congessional counterpart from AZ)than has come to surface.
You can run John, but you can't hide!
He never did give up his thieving ways after the Keeting 5/S & L scandal and to try to convince us now - well, that dog just won't hunt.
John McCain shows himself to be a cranky old man at every turn, someone who--like so many of today's Republican'ts--is too arrogant to follow the prescriptions of behavior they insist others must follow. He's spent years trying to create a better-than-the-next-guy image, but fails to live up to it at every turn. And at 71 years old, he's too old to change his corrupted stripes. He's a thoroughgoing Washington insider. Facing off against Barack Obama, a charismatic and thoughtful young black man, will only point up for voters McCain's short temper, stalled vision, and multiple hypocrisies. He's the Bob Dole of the 2008 campaign, always trying to build a bridge to the past. We do not need a Bush suck-up like McCain in the White House. Haven't Republican'ts done enough damage over the last eight years? The country needs to get back on a fiscally sound, peace-seeking path. There's nothing in McCain's rhetoric that suggest he's capable of steering the course forward, much less understanding that the country has to go in that direction.
Pleas be more civel in theas chats it is a big tern off for me and my choice of presedent when i sea the pepole that suport ther canidate doing nuthing but attack attack and attack i would not wat to be in a croud of attackers or defenders i would like nutrality thats why i stand by Obama
A unite America is the one that support our men in uniform, keeping America strong.  The only one that have the virtue and the courage, and can't be intimidated by those who want to destroy the American way of life is Mccain.  God bless America.
Can we please cool the vitriol and get back to the issues? Remember, that paragon of investigative reporting, Matt Drudge, was apparently the source of all the McCain stuff months ago. Yeah, McCain has some suspicious stuff in his past. I am more interested in his more recent flip-flopping on issues, and what he has been doing with lobbyists since the McCain-Feingold Bill. Commie, left wing thugs? I stopped looking for them under my bed 40+ years ago. Haven't spotted any "Islamofascists" lately, either, though 1-2 of my cats occasionally like to sleep under the bed.
to BobF: OK, just one little maggot (not the larvae)- how did you feel when Rush called Chelsea a "dog"?

It was probably the only time Rush said anything that was factually correct.

Reminds me of an old joke.

Why is Chelsea Clinton so ugly?
Because Janet Reno is her father!
