Obama continues NAFTA criticism

Posted: Sunday, February 24, 2008 2:28 PM by Mark Murray

From NBC/NJ's Aswini Anburajan
LORAINE, OHIO -- At a press conference here today, Obama claimed that Hillary Clinton had to take responsibility for the passage of NAFTA, because "she has essentially presented herself as co-president during the Clinton years."

Asked why Obama was attacking Clinton on NAFTA when neither candidate held an elected office to influence the passage of that legislation, Obama fired back saying that the "premise" of Clinton's candidacy "has been 35 years of experience, including eight years in the White House."

He argued that Clinton takes credit for "every good thing that happened" and said that it allowed her to be attacked on the bad as well.

"The notion that you can selectively pick what you take credit for and then run away from what isn't politically convenient that doesn't make sense. If she suggested she had nothing to do with economic policy in the Clinton White House, then it would not be fair for me to bring it up but as you know, that's not the claim that she is making," Obama said.

NAFTA has turned into a political hot potato as Clinton and Obama stump in Ohio, where the loss of manufacturing jobs has devastated the local economy. Obama has repeatedly attacked Clinton on NAFTA in recent days, as he tries to cut into her lead in the polls here.

At the National Gypsum Plant in Loraine, Obama held a small town hall where workers had a chance to ask questions. Over and over again, the issue of NAFTA was raised with one worker openly criticizing Clinton and President Clinton for the bill which he said "devastated" lives in this part of the country.

At a press conference yesterday, Clinton challenged Obama to "meet me in Ohio" at the MSNBC debate on Tuesday, after harshly criticizing him for sending out a mailer that misquoted her saying that NAFTA was a "boon" to the economy.

Obama claimed that he was "looking forward to the debate," but he said that he doubted that little new would come from the discussion. He reminded reporters and those present that this would be the 20th time the two candidates have debated each other.

"We have a difference on NAFTA. And that's what my mailer said, and I just read her words, her quotes about NAFTA. So the notion that somehow I was misleading on that issue is not factually accurate," Obama said about a possible issue that would be raised at the debate.

Obama, for the first time, clarified his wife's comments from several days ago, when she came under criticism for saying that this was the first time she was "proud" of her country.

"I think she already clarified this, she was very clear about it. She simply misspoke. Because what she was referring to is this was the first time she'd been proud of politics in America. And that's true for a lot of folks who had been cynical and disenchanted. She spoke about how she'd been cynical American politics, for a very long time but she's proud of how people are participating and involved in ways they haven't for a very long time," he said.

He argued that Republicans wouldn't be able to use an argument that he's not patriotic enough against him because people have already tried to do so, and it has not worked. He also dismissed Ralph Nader's entry into the race, and Nader's criticisms that Obama was too conciliatory to corporate interests.

Workers at the plant questioned Obama on whether NAFTA could be repealed, and he said that it could not though he wants to renegotiate parts of it to include better labor and environmental protections. He said that it when to came to trade, he believed in it deeply but that "the rules of the road have to be fair to everybody."

He argued that if trade agreements do not contain better worker and environmental and safety protections, the country would start seeing protectionist rhetoric not just from Democrats but also from Republicans.

"So what I'm trying to do is, you know, not strangling the goose that lays the golden egg.  The benefits of trade apply to everybody and the burdens apply to everybody instead of just you know making some people very wealthy and a lot of people hurting," he said.

It's good that Obama is standing up to Hillary Clinton's attacks.  She had known about his mailers for over a week--it's a shame that, after seeming so gracious at the end of the Texas debate, she is feigning outrage for political gain.
" I supported NAFTA until I realized it would be a big issue so now I will try to side step the issue"

"I sent out mailers in Wisconsin to attack Obama but he cant do that to me. Thats not fair. Shame on you Barack for shoving it in my face"

" I want everyone to know That Obama represents Change you can Xerox before I plagiarize Edwards and My Husband to get a sympathy vote"

"You know my husband cheated on me and that was big. If I can get through that I can be The President. I just have not planned my campaign very well"

- Hillary

She is a DISASTER

His reasoning is very sound & practical.

Unlike many politicians of Washington, he is also very consistent with his message. Listening to his famous 2004 speech to that of nowadays, I can see that his core values were not blown away by the polls or the politics.

Here we go again with the spin.  She is now rallying against outsourcing, but the Clintons caused much economic distress from implementing NAFTA.  She uses children as props, it makes for good news photos.  Remember the little kid in the big sombrero when Hustling Hillary was in Texas?  This time she took a question from (Now this is sweet) a little girl, who’s mother  is facing a mortgage crisis.  She called them both on stage to demonstrate her concern, and show people that Heartless Hillary really does have a heart.  She is going full steam after the Edwards voters,  and is now denouncing corporate profits.  She is very image conscious, and hopes that people will have "I do not recall" memories that may disillusion them when they recall the scandals of these two over the years.
Do this country a service, don't vote for Hillary.  Hollow Hillary has "very little substance", and she is just an empty pants suit.  She continues to change her campaign tactics, now it's big corporate profits, and outsourcing that she is against. Come on, readers, don't you be part of the Clinton Amnesia ploy (I do not recall). They both used that excuse under oath many times in their trials of denials.   Honest  Hillary claims many years of  service and experience  working for us, but does not offer specific details of any accomplishments,  any major legislation  that she personally introduced  that passed
The Clintons, in "their" eight years in the White House  introduced bills like NAFTA and free trade with China, among numerous other plans that benefitted corporations. Yes Hillary claims this experience, so the blame goes with the claim.  Using that “Presidential Partner”  as experience, I guess she is also shares Bill’s responsibility for failing to commit to the capture of Osama bin Laden.  What was she doing while Bill neglected his sworn duty
So far these trade deals like NAFTA have meant a windfall for corporate management and a shortfall for workers.  Exporting jobs may pay off as a bonanza for big business since outsourced jobs pay less beyond our borders.  But as they stand the trade deals are a bane for American labor and for our economy generally.

Something needs to be changed, and Obama clearly is the sounder bet as a change agent.
The Clintons have run this absurd "good cop, bad cop" game throughout this campaign, and nobody buys it. Bill Clinton has been trying to absorb the blame for Hillary's failed health care, NAFTA support, her Iraq vote, etc. for months now. There can be no selective resume building off the Clinton co-presidency. Shame on you Hillary!
When Hillary was firing off her negative (false) ads regarding Obama's health insurance proposals, you didn't see Obama getting all black and blue and firing off as she did.  He handled these issues quite admirably.  Hillary is only trying to evoke some emotion and sympathy. Won't work - A day late and a dollar short.
And Obama is correct.  Hillary cannot expect to take credit for the good and dismiss the bad.
What does it take to prove you are proud to be an American?
If you don't wear a American falg pin, made in China, does that mean you're not proud to be an American?
If you don't buy one of those cheap made in China plastic flags to attach to your car window, the one that you see lying by yhe side of the road because someone rolled down the window, does that mean you're not a proud American?
If you support the troops but don't support the administration's flawed policy, can you call yourself a proud American?
Yes sir.....selective credit is not gonna work. "I was co-president when I shipped your job to Mexico"- This is Hillary Clinton and I approve this message,
Obama has no new message, he takes everything from Hillary Clinton, same advisors to Clinton Administration, copies her policies, steals speeches, REZCO, LARRY SINCLAIR...... THE MEDIA IS TAKING IT SO EASY ON HIM. HIS SPEECHES ARE WORD FOR WORD FROM DEVAL AND NO ONE CALLS HIM ON IT????
OBAMA IS A MASTER MOTIVATIONAL SPEAKER AND TO WITNESS THE MINDLESS SUPPORT IS SCARY.DON'T MAKE ANOTHER ERROR ON THE PRESIDENT.

HILLARY 08
01-20-09....THE END OF AN ERROR
DON'T MAKE ANOTHER ERROR ON OBAMA.

HILLARY THE BEST CHOICE WE AMERICANS HAVE.
If my memory serves me correctly, Barak Hussein Obama, was all for expanding NAFTA and the WTO while campaigning for the U.S. Senate in Illinois during his 2004 race with Alan Keyes.

Amen Tony!
You folks don't think this woman has split personality? I truly think she has been suffering from a lot of mental dilemma. Occasional burst of anger, screaming, jumping into conversation like a chicken, crying for no reason..all these are psychotic symptoms in their early stages. America needs a choice of a healthy president in November.
Man oh man I can not wait to hear the the Moses of politics speak at his inaugural!  the ground will shake and the crowds will be hushed and reverent.  The stutter will inch from the lips of the man, the chills will hit the crowds in a bluster of heat and energy.  the fainting will begin and Chrissy Matthews will feel ALL his legs twitch in excitement!
MEDIA/OBAMA they have saved the day and America.
OH CRAP I had the grape kool aide today! CALL 911, help.
Do we expect Obama to admit to sending out a "misleading" flyer against Clinton.  Of course not, he's not playing the same old dirty-tricks tactics of the old Washington.  THE FLYERS WERE MISLEADING AND THEREFORE NOT TRUTHFUL. HE IS HANGING OUT WITH TOO MANY OLD DIRTY-TRICKS WASH. PEOPLE.
HE DOES IS NOT LIVING UP TO HIS SWEET TALK WORDS OF
BEING MR. CLEAN.

AND NOW THE MEDIA IS DUBING HIM THE "GREEN CANDIDATE"

  CHECK OUT HIS VOTING RECORD;

209-HR6 June 12, 07 Create a national action plan for reducing oil consumption by 35%..
      Hillary Clinton:   voted YES
      Barack Obama:     DID NOT VOTE

Hillary Clinton has spoken out about green jobs and ways to fight global warming long before Obama.  He really is a copy-cat.

IF THE MEDIA WOULD START RIGHT NOW AND STOP THE BIASED HYPE COVERAGE OF OBAMA AND GIVE EQUAL POSITIVE COVERAGE OF HILLARY CLINTON, WE COULD HAVE
A CONTEST BASED ON HONESTY, NOT A FIXED ELECTION.

CNN Republican surrogate Leslie (?) made a statement again this morning (I have heard her say it everytime she has air time) that,  Hillary is the most polarizing person in American History.  That my friends is what the Media is doing to convience you that the Republicans think McCain could beat her, and so you should vote for Obama.  THE MEDIA IS REALLY BRAINWASHING EVERYONE AND THEY SHOULD BE ASHAMED AS JOURNALIST.  OUR CITIZENS ARE BEING SUBJECTED TO THE MANIPULATED TV AND PRESS AS THE
CITIZENS IN IRAQ AND OTHER THIRD WORLD COUNTRIES.

JON STEWART ANSWERED LARRY KING ABOUT OBAMA....
JON SOUNDED AS IF HE LIFTED WORDS FROM THE GOOD SEN. FROM TEXAS.... "HE'S INSPIRING"  POOR JON STEWART
ALSO COULDN'T COME UP WITH SOME ACCOMPLISHMENTS AND INTELLEGENT REASONS WHY OBAMA HAS A FOLLOWING.

AND WHEN THE MEDIA FOLKS COME OUT AND SAY "WHAT'S HAPPENED TO HER?"  BLOWS MY MIND...I AM YELLING YOU STUPID IDOTS....YOU'VE BEEN TRASHING HER FOR MONTHS ON THE TV...AND HYPING OBAMA -- NEVER SCRUTINIZING
HIM.
Shockingly, I am finding more balanced news
on Fox as they are starting to scrutinize Obama.
Did you catch the clip of Ted Kennedy flubbing
Obama's name...could only get Osama bin Laden to
come out of his mouth, and it took several attempts before getting Barack Obama out.  It was not a joke.  Houston, we have a problem here.  Poor Obama blasts old Washington and yet uses poor old Teddy Kennedy.

That little tantrum yesterday was comical.  You could barely see Penn's lips moving as he pulled the string behind her back.

I hope she takes his advice and destroys her legacy with a flame-out finish.  No way we want this wench anywhere near the nomination again.
How about a Nader/Obama ticket... then maybe he(Obama) can get his arms around some of the economic issues HE'S been waffling about...

Also, what has not been mentioned is Obama's flip-flop on the Palestinian issue... before running, he used to point out the disparity in death rates between Palestinians & Israelis - a ratio of 500:1

... so, does money buy political "correctness" ?...I guess!

Can't you see what he's doing?  It's the oldest tactic in the book...deflection!  Obama is using a policy Bush left for Clinton to sign and is blaming Hillary.  I am curious to see if MSNBC has the guts to ask Obama some tough questions on his policies on Tuesday or are they going to let him "parrot" Hillary's answers like in all the other debates?
ss-did you watch meet the press this am? Hillary has done her share of using some of Bill and John Edwards.  Tim played some speeches made by Bill and John and she was doing the same thing that she claimed Barack of doing.  She should have never made an issue out of this because who looks like a fool now!
At a press conference here today, Obama claimed that Hillary Clinton had to take responsibility for the passage of NAFTA, because "she has essentially presented herself as co-president during the Clinton years."
------------------------------------------------
Oh so now she does have EXPERIENCE. But now you say you do not approve of HER experience. You are such a phony and a hypocrite BO, double shame on your sorry soul. All your rhetoric and lies and snide innuendos are so blatant you are a scum politician who will say and do anything to get elected!
Associated Press: Obama said the United States should ‘pursue deals such as the North American Free Trade Agreement.' "Obama said the United State should continue to work with the World Trade Organization and pursue deals such as the North American Free Trade Agreement." [AP, 9/8/04]

RIGHT ON YELLOW DOG DEM.  I'LL STAND WITH HILLARY ANY
DAY.

It is true that Hillary has considerable experience.  So what? She is a wishy-washy politician--has always been.  Obama is not perfect--true also.  But anyone capable of pulling what he has--becoming the leading candidate against the best-connected, most privileged aspirant to the presidency since George Bush II--must have something to commend him.  Obama has run an exemplary campaign; Hillary a dreadfuly disorganized, lamentably inept one.  If she cannot run a competent campaign, what makes you think she can competently run the USA?  By their signs ye shall know them, says the Lord.

For me, it is Barack Obama this time. Clear as daylight.  If he loses to John McCain, that's fine.  McCain is OK.

But Hillary....?

Miguel

Obama stated yesterday in his response that the mailer went out before the newspaper changed their word 'boon'.

Hillary's support of NAFTA has been well documented.  Perhaps many in here are too young to remember.

Hillary and Nafta

Sam Stein does some homework and finds she opposed it, quietly, in the White House.

"In August in '92, we had to make a decision," Mickey Kantor the former U.S. secretary of Commerce, Clinton adviser and free trade advocate recalled for the Huffington Post. "President Clinton had to make a decision as governor, whether or not he would support [George H.W. Bush's] NAFTA, and of course he did. ... Hillary Clinton was one of the great skeptics in the discussion as to whether he should do. So she was always skeptical beginning in 1992 and onward."

Of course, there's the question of whether she should be taking blame for Clinton administration decisions she privately opposed, as she associates herself with the economy of the 1990s.

It would be one thing if Hillary Clinton was admitting that yes, she vigorously supported NAFTA, but that support was misguided. But no, as the column shows, Clinton is now trying to convince voters she never supported the North American Free Trade Agreement - the trade model whose lack of labor, human rights and environmental standards made it a tool for Big Business to ship jobs abroad. Not only is she claiming to be a longtime opponent of the deal, but she's actually trotting out former Clinton administration officials-turned-corporate-lawyers like Mickey Kantor - the very architects of the deal - to tell us that behind closed doors she really wasn't for NAFTA. Shocker - these are the same hacks who have lashed their careers to Clinton's campaign in hopes of getting back their White House jobs.

The strategy assumes that the media will simply report this revisionist history as fact, and worse, that Americans who have been crushed by this unfair trade policy are a bunch of idiots. We are simply supposed to ignore the speeches she made telling us what a great success NAFTA was, including the one where she traveled to Davos, Switzerland to give a speech in which she thanked corporate interests for mounting "a very effective business effort in the U.S. on behalf of NAFTA" (that's a direct quote from her mouth). And the lying is about the best indicator that all her rhetoric promising a new trade policy under a Hillary Clinton presidency would be tossed out the window when she got to the White House - much like Bill Clinton's 1992 campaign promises to oppose NAFTA and China PNTR were tossed out the window when he was inaugurated president.
Hillary Clinton has made statements unequivocally trumpeting NAFTA as the greatest thing since sliced bread. The Buffalo News reports that back in 1998, Clinton attended the World Economic Forum in Davos, Switzerland, and thanked praised corporations for mounting "a very effective business effort in the U.S. on behalf of NAFTA." Yes, you read that right: She traveled to Davos to thank corporate interests for their campaign ramming NAFTA through Congress.

On November 1, 1996, United Press International reported that on a trip to Brownsville, Texas, Clinton "touted the president's support for the North American Free Trade Agreement, saying it would reap widespread benefits in the region."

The Associated Press followed up the next day noting that Hillary Clinton touted the fact that "the president would continue to support economic growth in South Texas through initiatives such as the North American Free Trade Agreement."

In her memoir, Clinton wrote, "Senator Dole was genuinely interested in health care reform but wanted to run for president in 1996. He couldn't hand incumbent Bill Clinton any more legislative victories, particularly after Bill's successes on the budget, the Brady bill and NAFTA."

Yes, we are all expected to just forget that, so that Hillary Clinton's campaign can manufacture supposed "outrage" that anyone would say she supported NAFTA - all at a time her chief strategist, Mark Penn, simultaneously heads a firm that is right now pushing to expand NAFTA into South America.

What a total insult to America's intelligence.
Cathy: Obama was not in the Senate when NAFTA was ratified

Mark Smith: Obama did NOT make positive comments about the war in 2004: the exact quote was "there is not much diff between between the way the war is being handled "at this stage""
AT THIS STAGE -- we were already there -- and he could not embarrass Sen Kerry who voted for the war and was the party nominee-- those three words are impt - If Obama was President we would not have been in Iraq to begin with

Steve Conn: the diff between Obama and Nader? One can be elected the next POTUS and one cannot
OBAMA'S COMMENTS ON RALPH NADER WERE SO FUNNY....

I THOUGHT THE HE WAS TALKING ABOUT HIMSELF!!!

(Well Obama does seem to have trouble holding his head straight, he's so full of himself -- )

Don't worry Obama supporters, Obama can always run on a NEW AMERICAN PARTY AND CALL IT; OBAMARATCANS
Then we can all be represented, Republicans, Independents, Democrats, Green Party and Obamaratcans.   ALL VOICES CAN BE HEARD IN THIS ELECTION...IS THIS DEMOCRACY OR WHAT?

   (Don't like Obamaratcans, maybe Obamawecans
is better?)  Yes, "Silly Season Politics!"
Somebody please tell Mr. Hypocrit (sic) that Obama holds a lead of nearly 1 million votes -- that's 1 million-- in the popular vote, according to the Web site Real Clear Politics.

Here's a good link with some real data for you.  Educate yourself on the hopelessness.  I don't wanna make you cry, but read this and weep:

http://www.washingtonpost.com/wp-dyn/content/article/2008/02/21/AR2008022102712.html?hpid=topnews
THANK YOU SENATOR OBAMA!
Finally, someone else sees the ridiculousness of her alleged "35 years" of experience!

Obama is correct to tie Clinton to NAFTA.  The power structure that financed Bill Clinton's campaign for president is backing his wife as well. In 1994 (the year Nafta was passed) I lived in Glendora, Ca. back then and approached Congressman Drier with my concerns. I was told and I qoute "the middle class has had it in America".  Forcing Hilary Clinton to defend NAFTA is only fair when she voiced no opposition to it in 1994.

It didn't take a rocket scientist to figure out the long term impact of NAFTA on the working ( middle) class in America, it took courage. Hillary Clinton didn't have it then and doesn't have it now.

Oh my goodness, Irene, from Plainview.  Have you actually seen the pictures of the step grandmother of Barack?  Does it appear as though she is gathering lots of money?  Still laughing here. I don't live in Kenya either.
"Out of well over 20,000,000 votes she is about 300,000 behind, or about one and a half percent. That could easily be made up in the Texas, Ohio and Pennsylvania votes."...February 24, 2008 3:31 PM

Not true. According to NBC counts, Obama leads the popular vote by about 1 million votes, or 50% to Hillary's 46%. It will be nearly impossible for Hillary to make that up in the upcoming contests barring a complete collapse of Obama's support.
Perfectly explained by Barack Obama - again !!!
NEWS FLASH;  OBAMA IS NOT RUNNING HIS CAMPAIGN, IT IS BEING RUN FOR HIM.  AND DO YOU REALLY THINK THAT HE WRITES HIS OWN SPEECHES?  OH TO BE YOUNG AND FOOLISH AGAIN TO HAVE SUCH BLIND FAITH IN ONE PERSON.
IF YOU NEEDED A LIFE SAVING OPERATION I GUESS YOU OBAMA FOLKS WOULD SAY YES AND SCHEDULE IT WITH THE NEWEST INTERN FOR HIS/HER FIRST TIME IN THE OPERATING ROOM. RIGHT?
Jaysean- Who cares what you think! You are way off base. Get a life!!
Its part of the politicalProcess. This is good for him it shows that he can adapt he can lear not only as a politician but as a person. She is arrogant and insincere most see this for what it is. He is taking what she started and is throwing it back at her and now she is throwing a tantrum getting emotional yea that’s what I want for a president stomp your feet and act like you’re the victim
Oh wow!  I just watched Hillary go on a tirade about the sky opening up and waving a magic wand!   Was this for real!   This woman is REALLY looking pathetic and silly!   She states that waving a magic wand won't make the special interest disappear.  You are right on that Hillary, however, having them fund your campaign won't make them disappear either.  This is getting REALLY disgusting, and I think that all of you who still claim to support this woman had better take her advise and "GET REAL"!
Although I am an Obama supporter, I must ask if NAFTA cannot be repealed, then why continue to bring up the subject like NAFTA will somehow go away under your administration and manufactring jobs will return to America.  Workers do not want to hear that better working conditions and so forth will come forth from renegotiating NAFTA, they want to hear that NAFTA will be dismantled and their jobs will come back home.  Furthermore, do you really plan to remove the tax cuts for companies that ship American jobs abroad?  If so, why do we not hear more about the subject and how you plan to carry it out.  I, like millions of other middle-class Americans, am tired of the lame duck politics that make promises to get our vote and produce only token results.
TO IRENE, PLAINVIEW, NY:

If it is true what you have stated about Obama's grandmother asking to be paid for interiviews, what's wrong with that.  Why should the media be allowed to make money off interviewing her, but she can not.  Time is money.  Are you a republican?  It sure sounds like it.

TO CATHY, UPSTATE, NY:

What proof do you have that Obama "voted" for NAFTA?  Neither Hillary nor Obama was there to actually vote for NAFTA, but Hillary's husband signed off on it and it is abundantly clear that Hillary supported it.  And as for the rest of your comments, you sound as though you are a foolish racist.

TO JAYSEAN, TX:

You have fallen for Hillary's okey dope.  Haven't you been warned enough.  Hillary only showed up to try and undo some of the damage that was done earlier.  She does not truly care about you!  She knows that if she wins the nomination or would like to win in the future, she needs the African American vote.  Obama could not afford to show up because he has to play catch up in Ohio and Texas.  If you truly understand and support him, then you would be able to see this.  You should not hold that against him.  African Americans are not the only people in this country who matters to the president.  African Americans are not going to be able to get him into the White House by themselves.  How can you be truly for Hillary, but truly against Obama because she shows up when it is beneficial for her.  She and Bill served African Americans up on a platter in order to remind White Americans that he is a black man so that they would not vote for him and you have completely forgiven them because of a beauty showing.  Come on now, you have to be smarter than that!

I hate that Clinton is coming off as a big hypocrite in this whole situation.  It's a shame because she has some good ideas and the country ultimately benefits from having her in govt.

I consider myself a centrist as far as what I think is right for this country, and she is doing nothing but showing that she (like Nader) ultimately does it for herself and not the people.  She'd sooner wreck her own party than lose.  A stronger candidate would be able to pick Obama apart on policy--instead she resorts to petty plagiarism and attacks his "experience" (which is, if you visit the THOMAS site, quite impressive in spite of her claims), then cries foul when he calls her out on her "experience".

I'm really hoping she shapes-up (and no more crocodile tears please-Thatcher didn't cry on camera, nor did Ghandi.  Be strong or get out).
I understood Michelle Obama completely when she made her comments about being truly proud of her country for the first time in her adult love.  Because you love your country doesn't mean it is without flaw.  Slavery is not that far back, nor is the betrayal of the American Indian. These were not times to be proud of. I love Michelle and I think she's going to make a wonderful first lady, as her husband Barack Obama will make a wonderful president.  I believe the U.S. and the whole world will benefit by Mr. Obama being in the White House.
I wish you a fair wind at your back, Barack Obama!

As to his race, which keeps being referred to: his mom was a white woman from Kansas and his dad was a black man from Kenya.  Barack simply a terrific man! A true leader.
If it matters, I'm a 73 years old white woman.  And I support Barack Obama.

P.S.  Hillary also tried to further divide African Americans and Latinos.  They are not taking the jobs of African Americans, because there were no jobs to take.  Remember the phrase 'divide and conquer'...huh?

FYI: To all you Barack hater...go find a hobby! Barack Rocks!
The Clintons take us for stupid!!
obamanoids asshould start their own party-------they cannot pull their heads out of Obamas --- ,get off their knnes and take a deep breath---we do not all love obama let alone like him---and we are turning our votes over to him---even if he wins the primaries---now everybody scream at once.
Barack visited the National Gypsum plant in Lorain today, where he spoke with plant workers and their families about his plans to stimulate the economy and create and retain good jobs in Ohio.
Barack discussed his plans to pass the Patriot Employer Act, which would end tax breaks to companies who ship jobs overseas and give them to companies who create good jobs in the United States.  He will also increase the amount of investment in communities that have been hurt due to globalization.

He spoke about his opposition to NAFTA and said:

I don't think NAFTA has been good for America and I never have.  One million jobs were lost due to NAFTA, including 50,000 jobs here in Ohio.  I have a long standing commitment to working families.  I will not sign any trade agreement that does not have environmental and labor standards.

He also spoke about his commitment to letting unions organize by standing up to business community and passing the Employee Free Choice Act.  In discussing his commitment to improving America's infrastructure he said:

We're going to invest in American jobs by investing in America.  We're going to repair roads and bridges and shift spending to make sure we're building infrastructure in the United States.

Barack also discussed his plant to create "green" jobs.  He said:

We're going to invest $150 billion over 10 years which will establish a green energy center.  We will provide funding to help manufactures convert to green technology.  I want to create an apprenticeship program employing young people in construction jobs to make buildings more energy efficient.  We will pay for this by ending war in Iraq, closing corporate loopholes, and ending the Bush tax cuts for wealthiest Americans.
Laura of Sammamish, WA

You are the last one to criticize Obama's well run, grassroots campaign unlike Hillary's, who started out last years with $145 million dollars ahead of every candidate and used her name and Hubby's presidency as her own to promote herself as having "experience", yet she hasn't released her white house and tax records. GIVE ME A BREAK.  I laugh as I type in amazement that you are just another uninformed Hillbots

Secondly, Hillary didn't have a plan b after Super Tuesday and had to LEND HERSELF $5million to stay competitive.  She's had at least 4 major shake-up in her ownd campaign and has changed her slogan approx. 10 times.  I mean what will it be next week, Slogan you can Xerox?

Thirdly, Hillary is showing herself to be emotionally unstable and manipulative.  First she's praising Obama one day then turning around and shaming him like she's his momma the next day. REALLY?  Very unbecoming of a future President and statewoman dealing with heads of state.  She made herself look foolish and unhinged over something as insignificant as fliers.

Lastly, throughout the campaign Hillary has played dirty politics and thought Obama wouldn't counter her with her records. She deals with attacking another Democratic opponent with Rovian like tactics, and when someone addresses her with her own facts, she loses her ever loving mind. She's distorted Obama's record and he's addressed each and every one with facts.

BTW, where is her tax and whitehouse records?  Why hasn't she disclosed them?

Hillary's "outburst" is transparent.  She will be the laughing stock of the political world.  Sad really because I use to be a Clinton supporter, staunch.  But after looking thru the records and seeing her actions throughout the campaign-OBAMA 08

Hillary will destroy the democratic party and will long be remembered for her dirty tactics, lies,

You Americans have no understanding of the world economy. If NAFTA is done away with by the US (Obama) the whole world will go into a depression as millions of jobs will be lost all over the world & the Chinese & Japanese will no longer be able or be willing to finance the US budget deficit. Obama will have no bargaining power because the Chinese & other exporting nations are financing your National Debt. If you Americans started saving, instead of spending most of your money on consumer goods made in 3 world countries, the world would also go into a worldwide depression - so what you gonna do vote for Obama & have a single term president like Jimmy Carter in 1976 & let a new Republican "Ronald Reagan" come to power in 2012?
