Obama reaches 200 superdelegates

Posted: Wednesday, February 27, 2008 1:43 PM by Domenico Montanaro

From NBC's Domenico Montanaro
With the pick up of Sen. Byron L. Dorgan (D-ND) today, Obama has now reached 200 superdelegates. He has cut what was once a 90-delegate advantage for Clinton to what is now 56 since Super Tuesday, Feb. 5th. Since Feb. 5, Obama has gained 30 publicly declared superdelegates, and Clinton has lost a net of four.

Clinton maintains a 256-200 advantage in our overall superdelegate count.

NBC/NJ's Aswini Anburajan adds...
Dorgan (D-ND) endorsed Obama in a conference call with reporters, and stressed Obama's support for free trade. He also praised his call, though, to renegotiate agreements like NAFTA to include labor and environmental protections.

Dorgan also repeated the call of many other Red State Dems, who argued that Obama can help down-ballot candidates and appeals to independents and Republicans.

This is Obama's second senatorial endorsement in as many days. Yesterday, he received the endorsement of Connecticut Sen. Chris Dodd, the first former presidential candidate to endorse Obama.

To truth hurts, every generation of my family has fought in a war for the United States, including the Revolutionary and Iraq wars. I support Obama and your comment about leaving this Country, my family has fought and died for this Country and the freedoms we are expressing right here, even yours, so don't tell me to leave, maybe you should if you can't accept differences of opinion!!

Obama is a young upstart that should get more experience before he plays with the big boys and girls.

I don't know Lou, he seems to be holding his own just fine: winning 11 straight, closing the superdelegate count , all while running a graceful election etc etc. This upstart is doing just fine.
I understand the need by both Senator Clinton and Republican supporters to grasp at straws. If my candidate(s) were in a similar position, I'd probably be looking to do the same thing. I think where both HRC and Republican supporters are missing the boat is in their attempt to grasp at the race straw or the religion straw. Americans are more informed about politics and the candidates than at any time in our nation's history. Yesterday's tactics of circulating photos, whispering about race and questioning patriotism just don't work on  objective and educated Americans. I'm willing to listen to the experience argument, the argument about his record and the argument about his being naive on foreign policy. The argument I'm not willing to listen to is the one about his name not being American as yours or his skin not being the same color as yours.

For too long our country has used the wrong criteria in picking its leaders. I think the majority of American people have realized this during the course of this election, and they're just not going to stand for it anymore. So, continue to play the race card, continue with your elitist attitude, just don't be too surprised when no one's paying attention.
Hillary supporters,
It is time to get real.
Anna.-
To say that Obama is any different as far as politics goes is nothing more than ignorance on the side of all his supporters. The dude sat right behind a table beside Hillary in Texas during their debate a couple days ago and lied.

He said an anonymous US Army captain told him that his infantry platoon was split and sent to different areas of operation, that they were missing vehicles, and lacked ammunition.

None of what he said makes any sense according to military analysists, and everyone in which some of them have spoke to has said this is completely untrue. Units the size of platoons are not sent to seperate areas, they have enough ammunition, and they were missing only ONE vehicle after an investigation.

Fact is, Obama is no better than any other politic.
This John Doe whose messages appear over and over again with the same text about Obama's church and pastor must be a robocall from the Clinton campaign. Same text everywhere. It reveals such ignorance of church life that church people will not fall for it.
Kenn,

Do you know how to use correct punctuation?  It is very difficult to read your tirades when you don't even use proper punctuation.  You make no sense.  Perhaps this is why you don't understand Obama's stances on the issues.

BTW - Did you notice I actually used proper punctuation
Thank You Sharon Mills from NC!!!
I have been saying this all day....it is so frustrating to watch.
BUT, most people I've talked with believe that she showed even more strength last night in the wake of what was thrown at her from the very beginning of the debate.
She is strong, she is tough. She should be our president.
But, let's face it - most men don't vote FOR Obama, they vote AGAINST Hillary.
I thought we had come further than this, but obviously not.
So long MSNBC!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I just love these racist idiots that spew hate all over.  Little do they realize how their narrow minded racist hate speech will not only not be effective in winning the White House, but it will actually drive people out of the Republican party.

The amount of racist hate coming out of the "religious right" is turning off alot of the Republican party.  I honestly would not be surprised to see the party fracture after this election.
wow, glad to see we've grown as a nation and are not afraid to consider a black man as president of our nation - NOT! I'm just speechless at the ignorance of this nation - the fact that most individuals consider being Muslim a bad thing? And to call Sen. Obama a Muslim in hopes that it will cause us all to shout, "OH MY LORD! I CAN'T VOTE FOR HIM! HE'S A MUSLIM!" Disgusting. Yes, there are "bad" Muslims out there - just as there are "bad" Christians (many white supremists will tout Jesus as their savior using his crucifixion as justification for hating jews) so...hmm, and lets see what else? Oh, yes, blacks running amuck burning down buildings and breaking windows. Are you serious? I thought this was 2008, not 1890! Wow...if one educated black man can cause this much fear in white America, I can't wait to see what a million can do. Personally, I'm glad my parents saw fit to raise this little white girl to see beyond fear and ignorance - I will be voting for Sen. Obama.
You know, I can easily see the charisma this man possesses...but do any of his followers realize he has NO qualifications? He hasn't even finished his first Senate term! Obama should be running in 2012 or 2016, maybe. He is NOT ready, folks- please don't make the SERIOUS error of believing he is.
Hillary Clinton is coming off as desperate and pathetic.............I think she needs to throw her towel in, while she still has some dignity left.  Why is she so angry?
CHRISY,

YOU MUST NOT HAVE A TELEVISION.  THE ANSWER IS QUITE CLEAR.
