Add another superdelegate for Obama

Posted: Wednesday, February 27, 2008 2:25 PM by Mark Murray
Filed Under:

In an on camera interview with NBC's Andrea Mitchell, Rep. John Lewis -- one of the most influential African-American members in Congress -- has said he will support Obama as a superdelegate. Congressman Lewis had endorsed Clinton last year, but says that Obama's candidacy is a "movement and something in American politics that cannot be ignored."

Lewis has said his decision to change from Clinton to Obama was harder then his march across the bridge in Selma 43 years ago when he was beaten and bloodied by Alabama State Troopers. Lewis tells NBC's Andrea Mitchell he has put a call into Senator Clinton but has not yet informed her of his decision and has not yet told Senator Obama.

Adding one to Obama's superdelegate total, and subtracting one from Clinton, the superdelegate count is now Clinton 255 and Obama 201.

The good guys (or gals) always win , the bad guys always loose.  Hillary--bad.  Obama --good

EVEN THO I DON'T AGREE WITH JOE SCARBOURGH OFTEN, THIS MORNING I DID AGREE THAT IT JUST WASN'T VERY COURAGEOUS FOR JOHN LEWIS TO JUMP SHIP AT THIS TIME.
IN FACT IT IS SUCH A BLATENT RACIAL MOVE.  WHERE I COME FROM OLD FRIENDS MEAN SOMETHING TO ME.  YOU DON'T TOSS THEM OVERBOARD WHEN THEY NEED YOU. HE MUST HAVE THOUGHT HILLARY WAS THE BEST CANDIDATE  FOR THE JOB EARLY ON OR HE WOULDN'T HAVE MADE IT A POINT TO HOLD A PRESS CONFERENCE IN ORDER TO INDORSE HER. IS HE TRYING TO SAY THAT DIDN'T HAPPEN?
WHAT WOULD PEOPLE THINK IF CLAIR McCASKIL OF MO.  CHANGED NOW AND INDORSED HILLARY.  THEY WOULD THROW HER AND HILLARY UNDER THE BUS. IT WOULD BE SAID THEY WERE PLAYING THE GENDER CARD AND THE RACIAL CARD.
IF IT WAS SO HARD FOR HIM TO SWITCH HIS ENDORSEMENT, WHY DID HE DO IT.  HE LOOKED LIKE HE HAD BEEN BEAT UP.  WAS IT THAT OR DID HE GET PAID OFF?
What I find humorous is that all the Republicans want Hillary to win because it's almost known that she has no chance against the McCain... Republicans hate the Clinton's, Then on top of that everyone says you need experince, Ross Perot ran and almost won, with no experince, Michael Bloomberg became Mayor of New York City with no experince, Hillary became a Senator with no experince, all experince means is, the more time you have in the more people you owe favors. Obama should be President, he can beat McCain or any other candidate. I mean even McCain hasstarted running his campaing against Obama NOW! Most of the people who don't want Obama in the White House are racist... I think it's time this counrty grew and elected someone who is different, maybe if we had Obama as a president in 2001 9/11 wouldn't have happened!!!
