Clinton speaks to the press

In a press conference aboard the flight from Cleveland to Columbus, Clinton wanted to talk about the campaign's upcoming economic summit meeting in Zanesville -- which will focus "not only on problems, but solutions" in Ohio where the economy is "unbelievably important."

"Inflation is up, prices of everything are going up," she said. "We are sliding into a recession." When asked what's the major difference between herself and Obama on the economy, Clinton replied with "experience," "specifics..." And she then outlined her plan for a moratorium on foreclosures and a freeze on subprime adjustable mortgages.

Regarding last night's debate, Clinton said she "drew some good contrasts" with Obama. "I was really pleased by it. I thought that once again we drew some good contrasts and obviously I was pleased to talk about issues that I, you know, care a lot about and know something about and thought that that came across."

She disagreed with the prize fight analogy about knockout punches -- and whether any were landed -- saying it was a "debate" not a fight. I think that a lot of people who watched it would come away and feel very positive and comfortable about what I said and what I presented as my credentials and my positions on these issues and I think there were some real contrasts that were drawn."

On the perception that the race could soon be over, Clinton noted that many people have yet to vote, and those folks are focusing on the big questions of who's the better commander-in-chief and who would best handle the economy.

For all those offering their (biased)opinion as fact, without doing the research, FARRAKHAN and the NOI have also BEEN AGAINST MISOGYNY and INTERRACIAL MARRIAGE!!!  They go as far as being prejudice against light-skinned blacks.

And Barack (not to mention his sister, his nieces, his daughters) fit into that picture how???!!!!

Take your racist-glasses off and you will see all this for what it is FICTION! Did you say anything when David Duke of the KKK endorsed George Bush???

Barack is a person of great character, extremely intelligent and a politician of the people!  He will be an exemplary President of the United States!
**OBAMA '08**OBAMA '08**OBAMA '08**
I watched the debate about 6 hours after the fact (couldn't sleep) and I have to say that while some of the pundits have written it off as a tie based on actual points landed, but I have to say that watching the 2, Hillary came off as desperate and I think it was very smart of Obama to allow the moderators to bring up the facts about Hillary's record on NAFTA and other various things.  For one it means something different coming from someone other than him.  There's no way to say he coloured it and twisted it for his own use.

Although I think Obama's biggest blunder of the night was not directly asking teh final closing question and instead gave a closing statement.  The #1 question Hillary needs to answer is, "While claiming your 8 years as part of your experience, why is it that you are now saying you were always 100% against the "crown jewel" achievements of your husbands presidency that have turned slightly sour from what we're seeing nearly a decade after going into action?  Why were you so long publicly announcing how proud you were of the achievements like NAFTA as pointed out by Mr. Russert earlier this evening, until your presidential campaign trail?  Are you truly a say anything, do anything to win politician of the past?"  And I would have absolutely loved to have listened to Hillary's half hour side step around the question as she did several times from waht I currently remember.  That one example of major policy change and the misdirectionto saying she was ALWAYS against it, I believe goes to show her true character and her ability to use her experience to not make the pitfalls she personally has been a part of or has personally witnessed in her long career of public service.

She honestly would be further ahead to say, "You know it sounded like a good idea tha would truly work, but the megacorporations foudn loopholes and abused them that caused it to malfunction and looking back I can see it as a mistake that needs to be corrected."
The funny thing was her closing remarks last night where she praised the fact that she was a woman and wanted the women of the America to realize they too, could be the President and that her call to all women to fight on for the cause, blah, blah, blah....funny thing is had Obama began to praise the fact that he was black and how he wanted blacks to realize that they too can be the President of the U.S. and how they need to fight on for the cause....all HELL would have BROKE LOOSE and the media, right winged conservatives, barbaric hillary supporters, etc would have had a FIT!!  Talk about double standards....and Hillary and her campaign camp continues to fault the media, she needs to take a closer look at her petty, uncooffed butt.....
I am split down the middle on this debate. While it is pretty clear that Hillary is on the "ropes" (so to speak), Obama did not AND COULD NOT (in my estimation) deliver a knock-out blow! But why? I don't think it is in him to do so. In the post-debate coverage by MSNBC’s Chris Matthews and Keith Olberman, Matthews said something that is very telling; and I don't know if a lot of folks picked up on it. He said that Obama does not seem to have the 'ability to score a thrilling comeback line...or a knock-down one-liner.' So true. In almost all the debates (not just last night), whenever Hillary said something that Obama did not agree with, he (Obama)has never shot back with a sly, verbal jab. In truth, I don't think he can. I don't think it’s in his character to do so. But that might be a good thing! In that it makes him look confident, bullet-proof, and unflappable. In a word, it makes him look Presidential, and not petty, as Hillary comes off at times.
The truth is that Obama is really NOT as qualified to be President in the technical (political theology) sense as is Hillary. But he is---at this critical juncture in American history---the best person to bring the Country together. He is the best Inspirational leader...the best orator...the best unifier...and ultimately...the best man for the job---at this time in America's history. Obvious, Hillary’s best chance at the President is 4 years too late! Her time was John Kerry’s time in 2004. She will go on to be one of Americas greatest Senators. Her contributions bolstered by her superb grasp of the issues will serve her well as the Junior Senator from the great State of New York!
But I say Kudos to America for putting aside petty racial and ethical differences and recognizing a great, young, dynamic inspirational leader in Barak H. Obama. He will do America proud internationally. Might as well get use to it now"...Ladies and Gentleman, the President of the United States, Mr. Barak H. Obama." Not a bad ring to it all!
McCain is the man!
I agree somewhat with HRC (begrudgingly). She said Bush43 promised to be a uniter, had no foreign policy experience, and talked in hopeful terms. If this was 1992, Obama would be a good choice, but this is 2008. We are at war with people who will stab us in the back if we put down our arms and turn our back.
I wish I could support Sen. Obama. I cannot wait to have our first black president, but not at the expense of our lives, our liberty, or our defense.
Now, I'm not a Bush43 hater and I think he did very well until he trusted Rumsfeld. How come nobody talks about all the bills he passed as soon as he got into office that had HUGE bi-partisan support? Everybody turned on him when the s*** hit the fan in Iraq. He deserved the scrutiny, but gimme a break. I would rather have my friends in the Army fight those maniacs in Iraq, rather than me fight them here.
To previous poster Fay McNabb: The "Hussein" use is not intended to evoke consciousness of race, in my opinion. The reference the disparaging user seeks is to Islam, as for instance, "Saddam Hussein," the late president of Iraq. This may be a distinction without a difference to those who try to discredit Senator Obama in the eyes of voters on such spurious grounds as his name. On balance, I think that the millions of fair-minded adherents of Islam throughout the world will find it amazing that our Democracy can produce such a President. A new era is within reach.
Ron, TX said

Obama has won more than 66% of the time.

MORE THAN 66% of the time.  Ron, Ron, Ron, Ron, you clearly need to brush up on your "Fuzzy Math."

Since Ron is mathematically challenged like so many of B.O.'s supporters, I'll provide a little tutoring so that Ron won't grow up to be a total moRon.

Let's review:

First let’s start with the Popular Vote

To date, Obama has   10,697,535 votes

        Clinton has 10,090,298 votes

             Total  20,787,833 votes

        Difference     607,237 votes (Obama's favor)

Ok Ron, I hope you've been able to keep up so far, because this part gets a little tricky.  As a result, you may not want to try this at home.

Obama having 10,697,535 votes gives him 51.9% of the total votes cast for him and Clinton.  We will round up and just call it 52% since we like you Obama folks so much (NOT).

Clinton having 10,090,298 votes gives her 48.5% of the total votes cast for her and Obama.

That's a difference of 3.5% of the total vote.

Now let’s take a look at the Delegate count according to MSNBC.

This includes both Pledged Delegates and Unpledged Delegates.  It should be noted that any source you attempt to go to for Delegate totals, MSNBC, NBC, ABC, CBS, CNN, FOX, the AP and the Washington Post, etc, you will get totally different Delegate count numbers.

To date, Obama has a Delegate count of 1386 of the 2025 Delegates needed to get the nomination.   Thus, leaving Obama 639 Delegate short of what he needs to secure the nomination.

Clinton has a Delegate count of 1293 of the 2025 Delegates needed to get the nomination.  Thus, leaving Clinton 732 Delegates short of what she needs to secure the nomination.

Obama having 1386 Delegates gives him 52% of the 2679 total Delegates accounted for thus far.

Clinton having 1293 Delegates gives her 48.5% of the 2679 total Delegates  accounted for thus far.

Whether it’s Popular Votes or Delegates, the percentages are exactly the same (what a shock).  Obama 52% and Clinton 48.5%.

Now we’re not quite done yet.

Moving forward, let say Obama was to get 60% of the delegates (just for kicks).  The contest would have to continue until May 20th with Kentucky in order for Obama to secure the requisite 2025 Delegates needed for the nomination.

However, if Obama were to get 52% of the delegates moving forward as he has prior to now, then the contest would have to go into the Convention in order to decide the winner.

Now that we have concluded our mathematical lesson, Ron, would you drop out if 48.5% of the people, who voted, voted for you as opposed to the 52% that voted for your opponent?  Would you drop out if 48.5% of the total Delegates accounted for thus far have been awarded to you?

Would you drop out if your opponent still needed 639 Delegates in order to clinch the nomination and even if he got 60% of the Delegates moving forward, wouldn’t be able to accomplish that task until at least May 20th which is three months away?

Would you drop out if your opponent were to get 52% of the Delegates moving forward as he has in the past, and in so doing, it would not allow for a clear winner to be determined until the Convention?

Don't bother answering any of those questions, they’re all rhetorical.

Of course you would drop out, right Ron?

You would simply tuck your tail (do Obamacans have tails?) between your legs and just walk away right?

Oh let me guess, you would do it for the Party, right Ron?  The Spineless, No Backbone Democratic Party.  The same party that elected Claire McCaskil  to the US Senate were she has spent her entire fourteen months campaigning for Obama and sniffing up Obama’s a*s hoping to get a White house position, instead of doing the work of the American people she was elected to represent.

If you believe that you are the most qualified person for a job, any job, especially if it is that of POTUS, and 48.5% of the people who have voted so far feel the same way, then you continue to fight for the 48.5% who believe in you the same way the 52% believe in your opponent.

That’s how Democracy works Ron, this isn’t a Dictatorship.  So Obama, his supporters and the media need to stop trying to dictate to Senator Clinton, and her 48.5% of the voters, what they should do.

If not, they’re going to regret it in November.

She's run a REALLY bad campaign. First playing the gender card (a sure way to drive away male voters... how can a millionaire lawyer whine about being oppressed?)

She's run out of money

Her people called Obama a drug addicted teen, then she whines about a flier?

She's been connected to politcs for 35 yrs... and she calls herself an agent of change?

How is this person going to "fix" Washington when she can;t even run a good campaign?

It amazes me that the African Americans have turned their back on Hillary. It is obvious that the blacks will vote for Obama. Let me tell you about Obama's preacher - yea - the one that he did not want to talk at his first meeting to announce he was running for president. - that one - who ditches his preacher - oh I know - Obama because at Obama's church in Chicago Obama and his wife attend the black church that preaches white people are the devil ect. Oh people yes this is true. As far as Farakan - that's been in the news a few times and how his preachers daughter gave Farakan a special award. There is something funny with Obama, all you people who think Obama will win better wake up - Because McCain will have  enough to show Gov. Patrick and Obama singing the same speach and then show how Gov. Patrick has messed up Mass. ummm - is that why Obama did not win? Maybe they heard that talk before and are much wiser than the rest of the United States or maybe I should say experienced!!!! Bring it on now - cuz you'all will be crying up a storm come Novemeber. That is what everyone who voted for Obama instead of Hillary deserve. I can not wait. All of Hillary's suporters will go to MCCain, Most of the white men who voted for Obama in other Primarys did so - so Obama could run against McCain. You were all fooled by the media and polls that are run by Republicans. The Dems have messed it up - I woun't - I get to vote March 4th - I will vote Hillary.
It's again amazing to me how I can read stories about Hillary Rodham Clinton as referred to in this site yet people have a problem when Barack Hussein Obama is mentioned by anyone. If that is not favoritism, I do not know what is.
Sen. Obama was the clear winner.

Did anyone happen to catch Sen. Clinton's answer to Russert's queation, about the 250,000 jobs Hillary promised New York in her race for the Senate?  She answered "Well, I was hoping for a Democrat to win the whitehouse and a democratic majority in the house"...Now does anyone think she'll be able to get things done as President?  I think not.

I am one year younger than Hillary and I was born on the same day.  I used to be a fighter until one day about 10 years ago I discovered that most people respected me because I am a strong woman but that they would run in the opposite direction when I was poised and ready for a fight.

I learned the hard way it's better to be a strong woman with the ability to see all sides of the story.

My vote goes to Obama...
This is not about race or gender. It is about who has better grasps of the issues, who has better command of what's going on...
I for one have not looked at the race card at all. And I know many are the same. Let's not make it one.

I support Hilary because I know we need her expertise, her strenght, her know how, her experience from both sides of DC - now more than ever. I think Barack would make one great VP for now -preping him for the Presidency in 8 years.

A divided Dem party is what the Republican's hope for. They know that is the only way they would win after Bush. I thought it's a slam dunk for us dems but I'm not so sure anymore.

Let's unite under one candidate whoever it maybe. That's the only way to get this country out of mess.
As a 70 year old woman, I am so very happy to see a woman running for President. I have been a fan of Hillary Clinton since the 1990's. However, I won't vote for her and I have been wracking my brain to figure out why. Unfortunately, it is as shallow a reason people wouldn't vote for Kucinich. She's too short. She doesn't "look" presidential. Remember that brief TV show with Geena Davis as the first woman President? Geena looked presidential. She never whined. She didn't giggle. She didn't have silly grins on her face. And she's close to six feet tall! Margaret Thatcher looked like a leader. Golda Meir looked like a leader. Indira Ghandi looked like a leader. Poor Hillary looks like a soccer mom. I can not imagine her going toe to toe, nose to nose (well, she couldn't do that because of her height)with male leaders around the world. I'm sorry. I am proud of her achievements..she's a beacon for women everywhere. But President? Not.

How about her comment that she didn't have time to get to her taxes. She does her own taxes? Wow! Does she use TaxCut or TurboTax. What a bunch of bs. Her accountants have done her taxes and probably filed them. Her secretary knows where they are filed. They don't need Hillary to show the taxes. I was disappointed in this comment of hers. Such an obvious brush off to the question.
I've never been a big fan of Hillary Clinton, but last night I think she scored a home run for those that were paying close attention.  First of all, she clearly has a better understanding of the workings of our government and of foreign policy than her opponent.

What got my attention is when she reported that Senator Obamba, as chair of the Subcommittee on Europe, Foreign Relations Committee, as NOT having any meetings since his appointment in early 2007 - a year ago!!!  His weak response was admitting he had not, because he's been too busy campaigning.  Because this subcommittee has influence with NATO, and NATO is a huge player in Afghanistan, obviously he doesn't care what happens there except to complain how badly that conflict is being handled by this administration.  You have a job Senator Obamba: do it!!!  This does not speak well for you that desires to be Commander in Chief.

I hope more of you voters begin to see through this "empty suit" with a Golden Tongue.  He reminds me of Jimmy Carter who set out to change Washington, and came away empty handed.  Anyone else remember what a disaster his term was?
I have been writing the media for weeks now, complaining that the media wont give Hillary a chance, and many of her supporters are equally fed up with this media bias.  I have never before seen so many journalists swept away by Obama-rama like teeny-boppers swept away by some new band.

It's so completely unfair, and infuriating to those who think a woman deserves as much a fair shot at the presidency as any man.  I smell rank sexism in the air.

Why is it not OK to critize Obama, but it's just fine to bash Hilary constantly?  Dan Abrams just did a study and found that Clinton's remarks are backed up by statistics.  How bout that?

As for Obama's "intagrity," ever wonder why he only has three years experience in the US Senate.  Because, although he said he would serve his six year term in the Senate and not rush off to run for president, he immediately broke his word, to the first people who had voted to place him in power.  That's integrity?

By comparison, Hillary said she would serve her full Senate term, and kept her word even when people urged her to run for the WH in 2004.  That's integrity.

Obama's charm sells, but his word doesn't seem to count for much when ambition calls.  Hillary has shown incredible grace in the face of endless bashing from the media, bashing that just goes on and on.  If she tears up, she's weak, if she's too smart, she's a robot, if she gets angry and defends herself from Obama's attacks, she's an "unstable B****h.  Yet she keeps fighting on.

That's true integrity, but don't expect to hear much about that from the punditsall they can see is Obama's glitter.  He doesn't even have to discuss his history of cocaine abuse, or he'll whine.  What other candidate would get away with that?  Will he keep getting away with it if he is the Demo Nominee?
REPUBLICANS ARE LAUGHING ALL THE WAY TO THE VOTING BOOTH! DEMOCRATS ARE SO DIVIDED BETWEEN CLINTON AND OBAMA THAT THEY HAVE PLAYED RIGHT INTO THE REPUBLICAN STRATEGIC PLAN TO WIN GENERAL ELECTION IN NOVEMBER WITH SENATOR MCCAIN.
OBAMA HAS FAILED TO UNITE THE DEMOCRATS, IN FACT DEMOCRATS ARE MORE DIVIDED NOW THAN EVER. HOW CAN HE CLAIM THAT HE WILL UNITE THE DEMOCRATS AND REPUBLICANS  IN NOVEMBER? ASKING SENATOR CLINTON TO LEAVE THE PRIMARY RACE BEFORE ALL THE STATES HAVE VOTED IS DISENFRANCHISING THOSE VOTERS FROM THEIR CONSTITUTIONAL RIGHT TO VOTE.
I AM DEEPLY CONCERNED HOW NEGATIVE OBAMA SUPPORTERS ARE TO CLINTON SUPPORTERS AND WANTING TO END THE PRIMARIES BEFORE OUR CONVENTION. WE ARE NOT A THIRD WORLD COUNTRY. WHAT HAPPENED TO FAIR PLAY AND DECENCY AND EQUAL OPPORTUNITY FOR ALL CANDIDATES?
THE HATRED AND VENOM FOR HILLARY CLINTON IS DISGUSTING AND THE MEDIA IS ADDING FUEL TO THE FIRE. I WOULD BE ASHAMED IF I WAS A SUPPORTER OF OBAMA. HE HAS NOT EVEN ASKED HIS SUPPORTERS TO STOP THIS RUDE BEHAVIOR TOWARD HILLARY CLINTON OR HER SUPPORTERS, WHICH IS QUITE DISTURBING AND IS ANOTHER REASON FOR ME TO QUESTION HIS CHARACTER AND INTEGRITY. ONE BLOGGER MENTIONED THAT THEY HAD NOTICED THAT CLINTON SUPPORTERS SEEM MORE CIVIL AND INCLUSIVE THAN OBAMA'S SUPPORTERS, WHICH ONLY PROVES THAT THEIR CHARACTER IS MORE MATURE AND WILLING TO REACH OUT MORE THAN OBAMANITES ARE. SO WHAT HAPPENED TO UNIFICATION?

Well What do we really know about Obana? Where has he been for the last 12-15 years? What about his islamic ties? Is he really that squeaky clean. I take Hillary Clinton Hands down, even in researching Obama, it still troubles me that I do not know enough about him.
It has been a good race. History will record this as one of the greatest Democratic races ever. However, it would even be better to see an Obama white house  and a Hilary VP ticket. Lets be realistic here. We do need this combination to get back the respect as Americans in the international arena, the economy and the many areas of immediate needs. Lets hear it for the President Obama/Vice President Hilary.
.
People keep pressing Hillary to release her tax returns.  Will somebody please have the backbone to investigate exactly where all of the money the Obama campaign has raised is coming from?  He has raised more than the Republicans and Clintons put together.  Does anyone really believe that all this money is coming from small doners here in the United States who give 25 to 50 dollars.  If that's the case, then we are definitely not in a recession.  Somebody needs to do a little "investigative reporting".  Remember that term, when it was being used to dig around in the Clinton's closet all the time...Tricia
Calls for Hillary to get out now are just silly. What if she wins Texas and Ohio....wouldn't momentum then shift back (just a bit) to her? And if she does win and then drops out, consider this. Are we really willing to nominate a candidate who lost NY, CA, NJ, MA, MI, FL, TX, OH (and maybe PA)? It's my impression that quite a number of the states Obama has won are ones that democrats won't win in the fall anyway. And is it just me or does it seem weird that he's getting all these Independent and Republican votes? Maybe the Reps just hate Hlllary so much that they are trying to game the system. They go to the polls and vote for Obama, even though they would NEVER vote for him in the fall. Why do we have people who aren't democrats choosing the democratic nominee anyway? If Obama is the nominee he is headed for an epic loss in the fall. Maybe not a McGovern type loss, but certainly a Mondale. Has it occurred to anyone that the Reps are actually more scared of Clinton?
The biggest lier is Hussein Obama. Who can confirm he is not Muslim. His father and step father are Muslims, his childhood education was in Indonesia (a highly Muslim education). The Muslim is deeply in his heart. He used drugs. He bought the corruption house. He is member of church against white. etc. Vote Hussein Obama, its OK but you must be careful.
Hilary Clinton is right, the press is subtly trying to undo her.  This is a hate campaign, not a fair play for her.  Obama is an orator, not a president, he talks the talk but the walk will cripple him . He has not paid attention and is caught up in his own rhetoric.  HELLO! This race is for President of the United States. I am a lifelong Republican and think she is the best qualified for her savvy, intelligence and toughness.Tim Russert should not be officiating ANYTHING
HILLARY GAVE SUPERB ECONOMIC ANSWERS ON "MAD MONEY" THE MORE I COME TO KNOW HER MORE IMPRESSED I AM WITH  HER. SHE HAD PUT UP HER STIMULUS PLAN DAYS PRIOR TO WHITE HOUSE AND OBAMA AND HER ECONOMIC PLANS HAVE STOOD UP AND STOOD OUT. THIS TELLS ME HOW PREPARED SHE IS FOR THE JOB SHE IS SEKING AND SHE HAS MOST LIKELY MY VOTE.ONLY OTHER PERSON I WOULD HAVE CONSIDERED WOULD BE MCCAIN DUE TO HIS EXPERIENCE,HOWEVER, HIS STAND ON IRAQ NEEDS TO CHANGE TO BE CONSIDERED.
Why does Hillary keep saying "I think having a woman in the white house would be a huge change"?  What does being a woman have to do with anything?  She is simply trying to appeal to women voters.  If Obama had said "I think having an african-american in the white house would be a huge change" he would be getting pounded for it.

Why is it that so many Hillary supporters claim that Obama's wins are only because of republican votes as some way to assure that they will win the general that way.  Obama does much better against McCain in almost every poll.  Also, the smallest margin of victory in Obama's last 11 wins was 17%.  That's not the result of a few republicans "stealing" the election from Hillary; those are huge blowouts buy voters who want nothing to do with Hillary Clinton.  The more voters hear from Hillary the more they are flocking to Obama.

This is just another case of denial by the Clinton campaign and their supporters.  Either we are being duped, or it's a cult, or those states don't count, or he's outspending us, or the media is treating her unfairly, or it's republicans trying to steal the white house.  Its never about her incompetance of running a campaign is it?
As a 25 year republican, I am voting for Obama in November.  The Clinton years was nothing to brag about.  Ohio doesn't want more of the Clintons
in the United State Of America today, democracy has become the government of the media, by the media and for the media! i would not also forget the definition of the 18th century political science guru-- Alexandra pope who defined politics as the madness of the many, for the benefit of the few. till date, i am yet to understand the reason behind the total support of the media for Obama. maybe, they are yet to accept the possibility of a woman president in the United State.
We are a nation of idiots...that is why George Bush was elected twice and why Barack Hussein Obama is the frontrunner in the Democratic race.

Clearly anyone with half a brain would question Barack's ties to a racist church with a pastor who worships Farrakhan.

If Barack Hussein Obama were truly a unifier, he would have walked out of his "unabashedely black" church the moment he heard the pastor praise Farrakhan. Not only DIDN'T he do this, he actually adopted this church and got married in it.

If you remove the rhetoric, speeches and looked solely at the records of both candidates...Hillary Clinton would have been the appointed nomination after Super Tuesday.

As it stands... the latte drinking idiots riding around in their Mercedez Benz and being no where near the plight of the middle class AND the idealistic and severely misguided younger generation are carrying Barack Hussein Obama to a win.

Oh...and don't forget the almighty "you better not bring the color of our skin into play" BLACK population...who are foaming at the mouth to elect a "brother"...they are NO DOUBT the biggest hippocrites in this process.

Bill and Hillary Clinton pushed civil rights and fought along side every single black organization that supported equality during the past 25 years... AND YET...90% of the black population vote for a Senator that hasn't done 1/100th of the work the Clintons have done for them.

Hippocrites...every single one of them. Denounce prejudice actions and at a time where they can "walk the walk" they become the biggest racists of all.

If white people, latinos...if Christians really think Barack Hussein Obama has you on his mind...I guarantee that will all end once he is sitting in the Oval Office.

Barack may be able to hide who is truly is... especially since the media is doing their best to support the "golden child"...but at the end of the day...America will once again have a phony sitting in the White House and a country continuing to spiral out of control.

America will get what it deserves...and then every person who voted for Barack can walk to a mirror and throw up on themselves for helping ruin this country.

As an Independent voter and having read some of
the blogs on this site, I could never vote for
Barrack Obama because of the type of supporters
that he has. It's hard to believe that they are
backing Obama because they think he can unify
the country and the world, while they (his
followers) are doing everything they can to
divide not only the country, but their own
political party. Since they slander any Clinton
supporters, they surely don't expect them to
vote along with them in November. Whether or
not Obama is qualified to be president isn't
as important as knowing the the type of people
he is associated with. As I said earlier, there
is no way that I could vote along with this
ugly side of the Democratic Party.
It was so refreshing to finally have a debate on real issues.  I'm mostly concerned about foreign policy and the Israel/U.S. relationship.  I had been undecided until this debate....I am absolutely sure that I'll sleep better at night knowing Hillary Clinton is our Commander and Chief.

no BfA she didn't say Obama would be the nominee, she said McCain. You weren't paying attention! Did you notice how many times Obama said" I agree with Hillary on this issue"? He can't come up with a good answer without his campaign people coaching him. He's weak and at least some of know this. He Just a nice guy, and that's all.
Here you go Obama lovers find out who your actually voting for. www.freedomsenemies.com/_more/Obama.htm
I have never been so disappointed in the media as I am since this primary election began.  To whom much is given, much is required.  The media is not holding themselves accountable.  And they are treating many issues as if non-existent.  I began following this election with an open mind, but have become so disappointed.  The values of the media appear to be very biased.  When candidates discuss healthcare for 16 minutes, you in the media, call it a waste of time being spent during a debate.  Try asking my daughter who needs surgery and has no health insurance how important healthcare is to her and many people in this country.  What is perceived by the press as "small" differences between two candidates' stand on healthcare matter a great deal to people who have no coverage and are unable to get coverage.

I have heard the press be very satisfied with Senator Obama's answer concerning Farrakhan's endorsement since last night's debate.  Senator Obama saw no difference between the words denounce and reject.   Denouncing words used by Farrakhan concerning those who are Jewish and rejecting Farrakhan's endorsement are very different.  And since Senator Obama does not seem to understand the difference I do not believe he has rejected Farrakahn's edorsement at all.  After all, words are important according to Senator Obama, and he spoke the word reject after Senator Clinton spoke up and he said the word reject without being sincere.  It goes to show how easily Senator Obama lets words roll off his tongue.  The difference matters and he should understand that!

When the campaign began I thought I could vote for whomever the Democratic candidate might be.  I was even taking a close look at the Republican candidates as I was not sure about who would best lead this country.  Now, I do not think I can vote for Senator Obama if he is chosen as I do not think I am getting a clear picture of Senator Obama.  He is not being challenged and things I have researched and found out about him on my own are not even being discussed.  I find little I can rely on being reported by the press on Senator Obama.  I do not think it is wise for those who have yet to vote in the primary vote for Senator Obama without more information about him.  If they do not research Senator Obama now they are casting an uninformed vote.  Senator Clinton may have her faults, but inleast we know what they are and can make a decision on where she stands and judge her experience.  Senator McCain has made some mistakes and has learned from them and I can better understand the value of him being elected president than Senator Obama.  I saw what happened with George Bush as president when he slipped by and was given a pass on his lack of experience with national security and foreign affairs.  We cannot afford making another decision on who will be president, our commander and chief... without all avenues being explored to inform oursleves on the candidates running.  I have been able to find out more about Mr. Huckabee than Senator Obama.  I think many are following Senator Obama blindly.  Many here are spending so much time putting down Senator Clinton they are not spending the time to think with their brains and look at Mr. Obama's lack of experience.  The media failed to give other democratic candidates coverage and they were unable to remain in the running and some of them were much better qualified than Senator Obama.  I was dismayed when other candidate were give so little coverage by the media.

To sum it up, I have come to think that many in the media see this as a game and are enjoying it so much they are forgetting what this election is about.  The media's play and spin on words has become more important than informing the voters on the issues and challenges facing this country.  This election is about who will be hired to lead the United States of America and take office in 2009 and time is running out for clear, honest reporting.  I have heard one in the media say "I love politics."  It is time those in the media love the truth and not the spin.  It is time the media gave us more on issues and less on polls.  It is time the media take a close look at experience and report on it as if it matters because it does.  It is not about a feeling "going up one's leg" as Chris Matthews has said about Senator Obama's speeches.  This election is about the lives of millions of people.

I thank Senator Clinton for speaking to the press. I appreciate her efforts to get information to the people on the issues.  I now hope the press will see from the subject of this topic and the many responses here under this topic that the press is failing to communicate that issues really matter in this election.  Little said here by others is about issues.

Voters, it is time to turn the light on and use your brains and look into the issues and the candidates we have remaining.  It is not about black or white.  It is not about being a woman or a man. It is not about age or looks.  It is not about a feel good feeling.  It is about the future of our lives and our children's lives.  November will be here before we know it.

With so many of you writing in to bash Hillary and support Obama, it appears to me it's you that is feeling the heat. Maybe you'll find out when it's to late that he's not what he appears to be.  Did anyone catch it in the debate when he said HE gave a sermon at his church! Well, if you need preaching to, you should probably go to services on Sunday {or Saturday.} Maybe that's why he is such a GREAT speaker {studied how to move people} and is able to sway some of you! Don't be fooled by the wolf in sheeps clothing. Yea I'm on of those that is thinking about about McCain if this preacher gets the go ahead. Hoooo Hummmmmmmmm
First and foremost, let me say that I am extremely proud of both Democratic candidates.  However, I am one of the few white men who will continue to support Hillary Clinton because I truly believe she is the RIGHT candidate to lead our country at THIS point in our country's history.  She is better prepared to lead our nation.  Furthermore, throughout both campaigns, I have witnessed the good, bad, and the ugly of each candidate...but in the end, something continues to convince me that she is better prepared.  I stronlgy believe she can defeat Senator John McCain despite what the polls have shown.
Again, I'm extremely proud of both Senator Barack Obama and Senator Hillary Clinton.
It's not that they are using his middle name.  When he does his oath to the white house his middle name will be presented.  The manner in which he is using it is freedom of speech however is said in a way that is followed by saying he will cuddle up with the leader of iran and on and on with other anti american leaders suggestive that he is anti-american and a terrorist.  In other areas of practice such as real estate it's known as block busting (warning people that home values will drop because of this person with a muslim name which in turn causes people to panic sell.)  The question i pose for you critics is:  If john mccain gave the name of every women who was a murderer a criminal a racist and then followed those comments with:  vote for me over Hillary clinton.  Would that in your mind imply he's slyly suggesting woman are all bad and reminding you she is a woman and will be just like the rest of them that were mentioned?  As far as the racist he was reluctant to denoune, get real you can spin it any way you want but the fact is these people have the right to praise obama no matter their racial opinion.  I think it would be very inmature to say screw you to them.  The fact is they have the freedom of speech written by our founding fathers to say i flat out hate you for your comments and wont accept your support would be an irresponsible polotical and moral option for him considering his campaign is anti racist and says we are not republican we are not democrats we are not black white brown we are the united states of america.  The fact that he got that support is significant if you think about it.  I think it is very impressive that he has gotten racist people from all colors in this country to come together and vote for change meanwhile setting aside their racist views.  The last and final question is:  65% of his voters roughly are white, how many of them are racist?  If you say none you are in denial the fact is he has made this country set aside racial tension and come together for the greater good of humanity in relation to life in the united states. I would hope he would endorse the kkk's endorsement too.  Unity is his goal.  The oposite of his goal is screw you for your opinion.
BOTH CANADATES ARE HELPING AMERICANS , THE BASHING OF BOTH ! WILL ALLWAYS SHOW UP SOMETIME. THIS COUNTRY NEEDED 2 GOOD PEOPLE TO STIR UP THE EMOTIONS OF ALL OF US - AND ALTHOUGH I LIKE MRS CLINTON . OBAMA ( CHARM ) MAKE HIM VERY PROMISING . THE THING THAT ALSO COUNTS IS LOOKING AT THE CONGRESS - THEY CHEAT , LIE , AND TAKE MORE FROM THE AVE. PERSON THAN WE ALL KNOW - IE: OWN STOCK IN OIL, OR FARMS , YOU SHOULD ABSTAINE , NOT VOTE , FOR ANY BILLS , LEGISLATION , THAT WOULD BENIFIT YOU OR ANY COMPANY YOU HAVE SHARES IN. ON A SMALL ISSUE - THE WAR - MOST IF NOT ALL THE CONGRESSPERSONS VOTED DUE TO INFORMATION THAT WAS GIVEN TO THEM , AS A NATION , MOST OF US WANTED TO FIND A PERSON TO BLAME  IRAC WAS THE " PERSON"  SO LIGHTEN UP ON HER VOTING FOR WAR - AND YES I THINK SHE SHOULD SHOW TAXES - BUT IN REALITY - EVEN IF YOU HAD NOTHING TO HIDE - WOULD YOU ? - IT IS THE IRS AND THEY HAVE DEEP RESOURCES - IE ONE THEY START DIGGING ---- WHO CAN STOP THEM ?
IF OBAMA GETS THE NOMINATION,IT WILL BE THE BEGINNING
=====================================================
OF THE END OF THE DEMOCRATIC PARTY,AS WE KNOW IT.
=================================================
I WONDER WHY THE DEMOCRATS LOSE THE WHITE HOUSE
===============================================
EVERY 4 YEARS.

It is personally degrading to me and to all woman, that there are women in the world who are voting for a candidate based on the fact that she is a woman! I would love to see a female president, I think it is a wonderful idea and I hope that it happens sometime soon, but just not this woman. It must be the right woman! Hillary Clinton is not the right woman, she is the alpha-b**** that can't handle being threatened by the underdog! This woman has ruined her own campaign but not being herself, instead she's let everyone else be Hillary.....Bill, Maggie, Mark, Howard. This woman can't make up her mind because she's not controlling her mind everyone else is!
R. Johnson.

Bravo, that is probably the most cogent and clear post I have read, and it lays out the situation admirably.  I completely agree, no one should be giving up yet because this process is designed to prepare the eventual nominee to face the other party.

However I must say that you erred in one area, and I even believe you know where.

You belittled someone for stating there opinion (however flawed it might be they are entitled to it)
It would have been sufficient to simply present the information without the rancor.

In all likelihood that information might have swayed more minds presented as a gentleman would.

Nevertheless, excellent analysis.

(The Politico) A top Clear Channel talk radio station has been (sort of) urging GOP listeners to switch sides and vote in Ohio’s Democratic primary.

Over the last several days, a promo for a popular show hosted by Bob Franz has been playing repeatedly. It suggests this method of beating both Sen. Hillary Clinton of New York and Rep. Dennis Kucinich of Ohio, who’s facing an uncertain primary contest:

“If I weren’t more responsible, I would get on the radio and say something like this: ‘Registered Republicans, your vote for McCain is already cast whether you want it to be or not because he’s the nominee. Cross over in the primary on March 4th and vote Democrat and vote against Hillary Clinton and against Dennis Kucinich. Make sure he doesn’t make it out of the primary. Make sure she doesn’t make it to the nomination. You have to do this for the good of the city, for the good of this district, for the good of this country.’ If I weren’t a responsible talk show host, I would say that,” Franz says in the promo on the 50,000 watt Cleveland station.

"It's a talk show host's opinion," said station executive Ray Davis in an e-mail. "The last time I checked there is still freedom of speech in America."

A Kucinich spokesman, Andy Juniewicz, said that the fact that the station has repeatedly run the promo without saying it is only the host's opinion indicates it is campaigning against Kucinich.

"What that host and what that station has done is insulting to intelligent listeners,” Juniewicz said. “Playing games in what is the most important primary election in years is reprehensible – especially when it’s under the guise of language that’s so manipulative."

It occurs to me that whoever is elected (whether that be Hilary, John or Barack) will acquire the best minds that they can lay hands on to advise them in all errors, so in the final analysis the best preparation one can have for the office is Good Judgement.

The bible tells a story about a king, Solomon, who was the wisest man to ever live.  Solomon became king long before he acquired the "experience" to rule well.  But that is the nature with rulers, relevant experience is only gained after the fact.  Solomon's advantage was that he had asked God for the wisdom to understand men's hearts and thereby rule them well.

The point is that good leadership can be learned only after becoming a leader, lacking that specific experience it is a gift from God.

Let me tell you some of the aspects of this gift: 1)a good leader can inspire, 2)a good leader can rally, 3)a good leader can cause others to envision, and 4)a good leader ALWAYS brings change.

For this reason I see in Mr. Obama a man who could be president.  I have said that I would vote for McCain if Hilary won.  I have decided that this would be a mistake.  In voting for McCain I would be voting for more of what we are all suffering with now.

Bill Clinton took a nation that was drowning in debt and delivered on his promise to turn that around.  So that when the GW took over the US had a budget surplus - an unprecedented event.  Bill Clinton was impeached because of an invasion into his private life that he did not have the moral fiber to withstand.  What he did was wrong, but it was also none of our business.

As a Reverend I cannot condone or excuse his actions, nor do I.  I also feel that he paid a price for his indiscretion that was appropriate.  The fact however remains that for the most part, Bill Clinton was GOOD for Americans.  The fact is that God often causes the actions of scoundrels to benefit his people (it says so in Proverbs 13:22).  George Bush and the republican party in general have been BAD for Americans.  They get a pass on their policy concerning Right to Life and Public Policy concerning alternative lifestyles (from a Christian Perspective).  But if the republican party were really interested in pro life policy they would start looking at root causes rather than blind restrictions.  Because restrictions will be violated, but if you do something about the REASON these choices are being made then chances are you would have a much greater impact.  I wonder how many abortions might be avoided if the families involved were kept together and had sufficient resources to stay together.

But by ignoring domestic economic issues in favor of foreign policies driven by special interest we have managed to drive middle class families into poverty.  We have allowed and encouraged manufacturing jobs to leave our shores.  Even to the point of damaging national security.  American no longer has the capability to manufacture missile guidance systems within our own borders because of these kinds of initiatives.  the net effect I suggest is that you get more abortions because of fear of poverty than you would have had otherwise.  That sort of makes their platform more about appearances than substance.  I repeat however I don't have statistics for this, I simply suspect that it is a factor the republicans are not really interested in investigating.

I am certain however that if you had less poor people you would have fewer abortions.  You see I am really VERY against abortion, as any right thinking person must be.  It is not a question of when a fetus is a person, that's just sophistry, the point is that a fetus WILL be a person and abortion interferes with that natural process.  I would just rather do two things different from the republicans.  Take away the factors that make it choice for poverty and hardship, and do everything in the power of the state to give options to those who still insist (like in vitro transplants).

With regard to those who pursue alternative lifestyles, well I highly disapprove, but they have a right to be included in the political process. So I have no issue with a party that includes them.

So finally, I would hope that Hilary, should she become the nominee will change the character she has displayed in the years I have watched her so that I can vote for her in good conscience or if I have to withhold a presidential vote.  There is still time.

But going over to the republicans?  That could only happen if Huckabee were their nominee, and how likely is that?
Obama was given the last words during the debate on Tuesday. This is an extremely tactical and manipulative maneuver - a well known method used by moderators who are not neutral. In the debates so far Obama has been given the last very important words and a chance to create opinion in favour of an issue and APPEARANCE - LIKE A CHAIRMAN OF A BOARD! It is sad to say that Hillary Clinton herself has had to remind about that. When she does CNN acts again with an ironic comment - “Things aren’t going well, blame the media”. MOMENT 22 my friends. CNN have sat a wily trap. The “last words” plays a decisive role in all discussions - CNN/Univision and Obama knows that. It is unbelievable that you Americans do not care about this improper democratic order.
Hillary was in control and on top of all of the questions last night.  Obama looked timid and couldn't answer the question about Putin's successor and waited for Hillary to go first. He had to be forced to reject Farakahn, wow!!!
She is backed by the military and is ready and best prepared to be commander in chief.  She has a better handle to change HEALTH CARE and will be a champion for the middle class.
Obama will keep looking for Hope in the sky.
He has serious problems with company he keeps and should get that straightened out and get 8 more years of experience.  Maybe than he can chair his committee on Afganistan and actually do something.
