Tuesday's post-mortem

Posted: Thursday, March 06, 2008 9:14 AM by Domenico Montanaro

We're still waiting for 60% of the vote, but Obama is leading 56%-44% in Texas’ caucuses, which would give him seven to nine net delegates and give Obama the most delegates from Texas when you include the primary.

Texas and Ohio set turnout records March 4. In Texas, more than 4.1 million voted and about 3.3 million in Ohio went out to the polls. “Results showed that the Clinton-Obama race drew the most voters in both states, with many unaffiliated and Republican voters choosing to vote on the Democratic side. In Ohio, Democratic candidates received more than twice the number of votes that Republicans did, with 2.2 million votes to Republicans' roughly 1.05 million. In Texas, about 2.8 million voters took part in the Democratic primary, compared with about 1.3 million in the GOP contest.”

The Boston Globe’s Vennochi: “Uneasy is the Democrat who wears the mantle of inevitability. Barack Obama has delegates and math on his side. But a resilient rival still tugs at his cape, searching for the kryptonite that will derail Superman. Tuesday was a good night for voters who aren't Hillary haters or Obama worshipers. Primary victories in Rhode Island, Ohio, and Texas restored Clinton's dignity and should also remind Obama that even a messiah benefits from humility.”

"Obama blamed his losses Tuesday in part on tougher media coverage that he said had resulted from Clinton's complaints of unfair treatment."

What is it with these stories of "Unexpectedly High Turnout" in Texas?  Why was it unexpected?  In nearly every state, this has been the largest voter turnout in modern memory, yet Texas did not "expect" to see people lined up outside of places to Caucus?  It's so sad to read of people being turned away and workers with no clue about how to run a Caucus. I'm an Obama supporter, by the way - he might be winning by a higher margin in Texas if the election officials there knew how to run their own Caucuses.  I think someone needs to explain this.
The real victory was won by Sen. Obama. Now onward. And while the press will be I'm sure quick to point out every shady hangnail Barack has incurred in his political career thus far, I hope someone finds time to give us an up date on Peter Paul, Hsu (Clinton's Rezko - oops...she's got photos and dealings with him too right?) and what about that $170,000 contribution Sen. Clinton has yet to remand to a worthy charity like her counterpart did with Rezko money since this is such a predictable dig from this ethical campaign?
Obama mishandled the  Canadian memo incident  and that played right into Hillary's hand.
Wonder  though, how that memo got leaked.
Bill has LOTS of ties to Canada.

I guess Obama needs to also become an alley cat.
Obama blamed his losses on "tougher media coverage"?  The media has finally asked a few tough questions, which the Senator has hedged, sidestepped, half-answered.  And he blames his loss of credibility on "Clinton's complaints of unfair treatment"!  Grow up!  We in Illinois have been waiting for someone, anyone to ask him some of these questions.  Too bad he cannot seem to give a straight answer!
I THOUGHT YOUR NEWSCAST WERE GOOD AND UNBIASED FOR A GREAT MANY YEARS. i HAVE THOUROUGHLY ENJOYED YOUR NEWSCASTS FOR THEIR CONTENT AND ESPECIALLY THE INVESTIGATIVE REPORTS. UNFORTUNATELY I WILL NO LONGER BE TUNING YOU IN OR VISITING YOUR WEBSITE!! YOU HAVE PUT HILLARY DOWN AND TREATED HER VERY BADLY THROUGHOUT THIS CAMPAIGN. INSTEAD OF SAYING IF FL AND MI VOTES COUNTED HILLAY WOULD BE LEADING. YOU HAVE CLEARLY AND DECISIVELY PLEDGED YOUR WEBSITE AND YOUR TV BROADCASTS BEHIND OBAMA. ITS OBVIOUS ATLEAST WHERE THIS MATTER IS CONCERNED YOUR NOT OBJECTIVE!! DON'T YOU REMEMBER WHO IT WAS THAT LEAD US OUT OF A BUSH MADE FINANCIAL CRISIS THAT WAS SO BAD THAT 10% OF THE COUNTRY WAS NOT WORKING. THE CLINTONS LEAD US OUT OF THAT IN 3 YEARS. NOW WHO BETTER TO LEAD US OUT OF THE FISCAL IRRESPONSIBITY THAT THE REPUBLICANS CONTINUE TO EXPLOIT EVERYTIME THEY ARE ELECTED. REMEMBER IT WAS REAGAN WHO DESTROYED THE UNIONS!!! "REPUBLICAN"

NO MORE MSNBC FOR ME EVER AGAIN

TVALLENTHINE@MSN.COM
YEAAAHHHHHHH!!!! A victory in TX for OBAMA!!!! O BA MA!! O BA MA!!!

Clinton has proven she's an excellent mud wrestler but I'm confident people will ultimately choose the best leader for the country. The person who can best manage and lead the country out of the ditch is Obama.
The Texas caucuses are not run by election workers, but by party members.  In other words, 2 of the caucus attendees had to step up and volunteer to be Precinct Chair and Secretary - then be voted in by the people.  A temporary chair may ask for that vote.

For many years, few attended the caucus since the presidential race was already over before the TX primary.  I agree, it would have been extremely helpful if more people had looked up the instructions beforehand.  It wasn't that complicated - I downloaded them and reviewed while waiting for a hamburger at Sonic.

At any rate, please don't blame the election officials - they were busy running the actual election.  The caucus is up to the party faithful.
OBAMA CANNOT BE ELECTED IN GENERAL ELECTIONS.....
THE BIG PARTY LEADERS WILL VOTE FOR HILLARY.....
I SEE BROKEN CONVENTION IN DENVER.......
I WONDER IF THE DEMOCRATS WILL EVER LEARN......
MAYBE WILL GONNA HAVE AGAIN ANOTHER REPUBLICAN IN THE WHITE HOUSE.
THE ACTIVISTS OF THE DEMOCRATIC PARTY CONTROL THE AGENDA,AND NOMINATE THE WRONG PEOPLE....
THE SAME OLD STORY OVER AND OVER AGAIN.....
As an Obama supporter, I blame the losses on

-- the negative and Democratic Party self-defeating ads that the Clinton campaign put out.  And I'll also dump in some race-baiting (isn't he a Muslim?) and questioning of patriotism press from unknown sources here.  The Muslim characterization and no hand over heart during the Pledge FALLACIES.

--the nasty Rush Limbaugh effect (8% of the dem. primary votes in Texas came from Reps voting for Hillary, I thought I saw).

--State demographics (blue collar, more white voters in Ohio, Catholic voters in RI)

and last but NOT least, the Obama campaign's compete bungling of the Canada issue.  Don't believe there was anything there substantive but the cloud over the aide even being there hurt Obama and the campaign should have handled it better.

But I believe Obama and his campaign have and will continue to learn from the experience and will prevail
This is HUGE! Everyone on these blogs needs to read this and then think about how you want in the White House. Pass this on in other blogs and if the media has any sense of balance then they should run with this.

This is a story about the democrats are looking into reports that Obama supporters were not allowed in to Caucus Tuesday night.

Typical dirty tricks by The Clinton's......
I AM VERY DISAPPOINTED IN JOE SCARBOROUGH. HE HAS NO DIGNITY AT ALL.

HILLARY PULLED A HIT-JOB ON THE MEDIA, AND JOE SCARBOROUGH WAS THE FIRST TO FALL FOR IT. SHE EVEN SUGGESTED MAKING HIM HER RUNNING MATE.

QUESTION IS - IS ANYONE ASKING HILLARY THE TOUGH QEUSTIONS ? WHERE DID HER CLAIMS OF 35YR-EXPERIENCE COME FROM ? HOW WILL SHE OVERTURN THE PEOPLE'S VOTE AT THE CONVENTION ? THERE ARE SO MANY TRUE QUESTIONS TO ASK. BUT SHE HAS INTIMIDATED THE ENTIRE MEDIA, AND JOE WAS THE FIRST !

JOE IS DIGUSTING, AND I WILL NOT WATCH MORNING JOE ANYMORE.
Ever notice the BLAME poor BRUTUS lies not in the STARS but in ourselves, unless your an OBAMA supporter then it lies somewhere but not at your doorstep.HE LOST BECAUSE HE RAN A LOUSY CAMPAIGN FOR A FEW WEEKS and thought and acted like he was the winner already .A rather inflated EGO dont you think?
Is jerry still scared of HILLIARY? Is she still haunting you ,do you still see her in your dreams. It wont be long till you only have obamma to  complain about because you dont complain about your lame choice GEORGE BUSH how is he doing for you ,are you loving 400 a gallon
The name of the game in the Democratic party is to win delegates. The nomination is not won by winning the popular vote of each state. If Hillary wants those sorts of rules, then she needs to become a Republican.
Well all you trolls, and sheep enjoy yourselves!  Go to your bashing stations and have at it.  You have seven weeks to roll around in your angst.
We here in the sunshine of a FANTASTIC SWEEP OF BIG STATES will leave you to your misery.

Listen! Very, very, carefully the sound you are hearing is all the hot air coming out of the Obama campaign. All the mouning and nashing of teeth is coming from MSNBC's pundits crying because their man lost.  Well just as I predicted the media is now saying that she won but still she lost.  This sounds Orwellian to me. Love is Hate: War is Peace: A win is a Loss:  Now they are saying that we are getting to much democracy.  They say that they are dismayed that this primary season will go on.  What a terrible thing letting the rest of the country have a chance to vote, especially since the pundits have already declared Obama the winner. At a time when young americans are fighting and dying for our right to vote I find it insulting that the media says that the voting should stop and Hillary should quit.  Well the voters  have said loud and clear let the voting continue.  The truth is the media can't stand much more democracy but the people can!
Then Senator Obama won Texas.  When will MSNBC report that?
Will somebody please tell me why the press is not asking Hillary about her corruption trial coming up this fall involving Peter Paul?

It is a HUGE issue and would absolutely decimate her should she win the nomination!!
want some cheeese and crackers with that whine?
Hillary Clinton has proven, once again, that she can win big in the big states that are the must wins for the Dems in November. She's the strongest candidate, it's that simple.

Hillary won all voting groups in Ohio with the exception of black voters. Obama won only 5 of 88 counties in Ohio, those five counties are where the large black populations are. If you can't win Ohio, you cannot win the Presidency. Those are the facts. Obama can't close the deal. Hillary has, did and will close the deal.

GAME OVER! Obama needs to exit the race now and Dems need to rally behind Hillary.

Hillary needs to choose a white male with strong national security credentials as her VP. Obama on the ticket as VP would be too much a sea change at once. The media needs to stop promoting the idea of a "dream ticket". It's NOT.

**VOTE SMART!!  **VOTE HILLARY!!**
Not only Clinton complained of unfair media coverage  EVERYONE  including the media themselves, saw it for what it was.  the media is there to investigate but Obama thinks he is beyond scrutiny? of course thinking of yourself as a demigod will do this to a person. neither of them are above the line of the media.
I still say clinton/obama '08 thats the ticket that will squash the GOP I hope dean is pushing for this
Why aren't we speaking of Limbaugh and the Fox media URGING Republicans to vote for Hillary?
This is wrong and nobody is speaking about it. Now Obama is campaigning against Hillary, Bill, Chelsea and Limbaugh and the Fox media. This is so wrong....
Here's the Toronto Globe&Mail's latest on how the Clintstones were the one's who actually told the Canadian government to take her anti-NAFTA comments "with a grain of salt".
http://www.theglobeandmail.com/servlet/story/RTGAM.20080305.wharpleak0305/BNStory/National/home
Why was the media so reckless to declare Clinton the winner in Texas without the caucus results in?  The popular vote is a moral victory; delegates count.  If Obama emerges from Texas with the most delegates, he - and not Clinton - won Texas.

no to obama (Sent Thursday, March 06, 2008 10:06 AM)

-----------------------------------------------
Yes he plays the race card, how dare anyone notice he is black!  If you even think to mention the black vote  then you are an automatic racist.   Now we are being THREATENED with race riots if OBAMA does not get ALL the super delegates and any other delegates he wants!  I smell a rat and it is not black!
so....WHEN Obama shows that he won the most delegates from Texas, will he be decalred the winner there?
Barack,

I'd like to thank you for all you have done to lead us so far.  I know you'll keep going because you've still got a technically insurmountable delegate lead and your message is predicated on belief and hope and looking at how we rule ourselves in a fundamentally different way.

In many ways, you are the opposite of Hillary Clinton.  Besides the demographic obvious -young, male, tall, dark-skinned- you are also respectful of your opponent.  You congratulate her on her wins when necessary -she does not even mention your name at all when it's her turn to do so.  You maintain your campaign theme and values regardless of the situation of the day -she shifts like the wind in her message and her mood.  You speak directly to us in your ads -Hillary just approves her own soundbites and the trumped up charges and scare-tactic allegories of proxies.  Hillary fights with her fists and refuses to admit she can and has made mistakes -you fight with your mind and acknowledge that you're not infallible or perfect but elegantly capable of taking lessons.

Hillary asks us to trust her to take care of us while we go about our lives -you ask us to trust ourselves and to take part in making this country and all of our lives better.

We -you and I- suffered a small defeat on Tuesday and it was frustrating in the face of the wave of inspiration you've built, but I'd like to thank you for your grace and for reminding me that I had been starting to assume too much.  I had been letting you become the proxy for my hopes and the redemption of this nation's history of oligarchy, international prima noctis, fear-mongering, class warfare, racism, slavery and xenophobia.

I am reminded that you are just a man -a great man- but no savior or redeemer.  You will make a wonderful and generationally-defining president and I will be proud to have lived through this time.  I will continue to support you with my head and my heart.  But I am reminded that I have to do my part as well.  If I want change and progress and redemption, I have to bear my own water along side you.  I have to take part and do more than wish your success.

This is what you were trying to tell me when you said "We are the change we've been waiting for."  I was right here the whole time.  I just never realized how powerful I was until you asked me to look in the mirror.

You are my president, Barack.  But I am your general.  Thank you for asking me to participate.  I am glad to be reminded that you have done so.

-Scott Hussein
Subject: Clinton vs. Obama
Let's take a closer look at who's really qualified and or who's really
working for the good of all of us in the Senate. Obama or Clinton.
Records of these two candidates should be scrutinized in order to make an
informed decision.
Senator Clinton, who has served only one full term - 6yrs. - and another
year campaigning, has managed to author and pass into law - 20 - twenty
pieces of legislation in her first six years.
These bills can be found on the web site of the Library of Congress
www.thomas.loc.gov, but to save you trouble, I'll post them here for you.

1. Establish the Kate Mullany National Historic Site.
2. Support the goals and ideals of Better Hearing and Speech Month.
3. Recognize the Ellis Island Medal of Honor.
4. Name courthouse after Thurgood Marshall.
5. Name courthouse after James L. Watson.
6. Name post office after Jonn A. O'Shea.
7. Designate Aug. 7, 2003, a s National Purple Heart Recognition Day.
8. Support the goals and ideals of National Purple Heart Recognition
Day.
9. Honor the life and legacy of Alexander Hamilton on the bicentennial
of his death.
10. Congratulate the Syracuse Univ. Orange Men's Lacrosse Team on
winning the championship.
11. Congratulate the Le Moyne College Dolphins Men's Lacrosse Team on
winning the championship.
12. Establish the 225th Anniversary of the American Revolution
Commemorative Program.
13. Name post office after Sergeant Riayan A. Tejeda.
14. Honor Shirley Chisholm for her service to the nation and express
condolences on her death.
15. Honor John J. Downing, Brian Fahey, and Harry Ford, firefighters who
lost their lives on duty. Only five of Clinton's bills are, more
substantive.

16. Extend period of unemployment assistance to victims of 9/11.
17. Pay for city projects in response to 9/11

18. Assist landmine victims in other countries.
19. Assist family caregivers in accessing affordable respite care.
20. Designate part of the National Forest System in Puerto Rico
asprotected in the wilderness preservation system.

There you have it, the fact's straight from the Senate Record.

Now, I would post those of Obama's, but the list is too substantive, so
I'll mainly categorize.
During the first - 8 - eight years of his elected service he sponsored
over 820 bills. He introduced
233 regarding healthcare reform,
125 on poverty and public assistance,
112 crime fighting bills,
97 economic bills,
60 human rights and anti-discrimination bills,
21 ethics reform bills,
15 gun control,
6 veterans affairs and many others.

His first year in the U.S. Senate, he authored 152 bills and co-sponsored
another 427. These inculded **the Coburn-Obama Government Transparency
Act of 2006 - became law, **The Lugar-Obama Nuclear N on-proliferation
and
Conventional Weapons Threat Reduction Act, - became law, **The
Comprehensive Immigration Reform Act, passed the Senate, **The 2007
Government Ethics Bill, - became law, **Th e Protection Against
Excessive
Executive Compensation Bill, In committee, and many more.

In all, since entering the U.S. Senate, Senator Obama has written 890
bills and co-sponsored another 1096.
An impressive record, for someone who supposedly has no record according
to some who would prefer that this comparison not be made public.
He's not just a talker.
He's a doer.
Will Obama win Texas, if he has the most delegates from the primary and caucus? Or is the delegate win in the primary and caucus seen as individual wins?

If both contests are counted as one, was it premature for the news media to claim Clinton had won Texas?
Do you think it would pay off if Obama spent the rest of the primary time running against McCain while completely ignoring Hillary?  He could keep his squeaky-clean image while Hil drives herself crazy spitting venom at him and soiling herself in the process.  It would be delicious, and it just might work.  Heaven knows, the woman is Lady Macbeth in human form.

HRC's 35 years of experience:

1. Worked for a corporate law firm.

2. Served on WalMart board and had no issues with the labor policies there.

3. Formulated a disastrous health care plan that postponed universal coverage for years.

4. Had tea with foreign leaders.

5. Voted for the war

6. Scandal after scandal. Why oh why?

7. Within a couple of years managed to lose both the house and the senate due to vindictive and divisive politics

Experience we can count on?
So what is the more meaningful victory.  The primary win (where 1.5 million people voted) or the caucus win (where less than 100k voted).  Since NEITHER candidate can get enough pledged delegates to win, I think the supers are going to start looking at the popular vote.  Hillary is catching up there in a hurry.  That is the real reason why Obama does not want FL and MI to have a chance to revote or seat the delegates.
I want to start out by saying I'm republican for the most part, but do not, and did not like George Bush. I have been watching, reading and listening to everything about this election like most of you. I for the life of me can't understand how "Billary" is even allowed to run for the highest office in the country! The words Clinton and Scandal, are pretty much the same! Now if Hillary had divorced Bill ten years ago, maybe I could believe half of what she says! The whole Obama "movement" escapes me also. I am a lifelong resident of  Il. And am old enough to know that you don't get anywhere in politics in Chicago without owing someone, something! The Daily machine still holds the power. The freshman senator is if nothing else a great speaker, mostly if scripted. The biased media is now finally taking a closer look at Obama, and more will be revealed about him in the coming months. The thing that really gets me is his church. Out of all the churches in Chicago, why did he choose an all black church that endorses Farrakhan, denounces whites and Jews alike? If the white candidates had an affiliation with the Aryan brotherhood for example, don't you think they would be vilified in the press to say the least? Obama calls himself a "unifier", but to me, actions speak louder than words! The fact he doesn't acknowledge the flag of our country gives me pause for concern, as it should you all also. It makes me wonder what his agenda really is! The fact he is still in his first term and already making a bid for the White House without accomplishing much in the Senate is also a concern. A "present" vote is basically a safe move politically if nothing else. Our great country is in dire straights, and two Tax and Spend LIBERAL Democrats will only serve to bring our country down even more! People, make no mistake, John McCain is NOT George Bush! He is actually more moderate than conservative, and that is not necessarily a bad thing! He has the proven leadership, and has shown he can "cross the aisle” to get the job done. I truly believe that if he had been elected in 2000, the country wouldn't be in the mess we're in now! Vote for a PROVEN LEADER, vote McCain!
Wow.  America certainly has no shortage of cynical, hateful, lost and disillusioned people.  Many who have never had the opportunity or the courage to travel or live (or make a real friend) very far beyond the boundaries of their hometown.  No wonder that the drug companies grow wealthy on our collective malaise.
"Obama blamed his losses Tuesday in part on tougher media coverage that he said had resulted from Clinton's complaints of unfair treatment."
*****************************************
Well call the waaaaablulace.

LOL.

Don't worry Obama the obamabots will protect you from the BIG,BAD, SCARY WITCH.

Bitch is the new black.

Clinton 08.
Ok, here it goes.  Here we have Two Democrats, Hillary and Obama, competing against each other.  Democrats, yes democrats, who I noticed have a tendency to vote for-- guess which party--that is right—Democrats. Now, stay with my reasoning here; I will not go too fast for you, ok. Since the “Democrats” are voting for “Democratic Presidential Nominees” is it just possible, even plausible, and down right probable, that the “Democrats” will vote for a “DEMOCRAT” during the general election! Furthermore, and I will try not to get too complex here, since the “Democrats” have been turning out in record numbers to vote or Hillary or Obama (both of which are: democrats,) isn’t it probable that they will vote for a “DEMOCRATIC” candidate!  Now comes the “tricky part.”  Doesn’t this simply, and I mean very simple, basic logic suggest that Hillary’s argument that she can win the “Big Blue States” against another “DEMOCRAT” become meaningless?  And finally, since Barrack Obama seems to be able to draw in independents better than Hillary, wouldn't he be (and I’m just spit balling here) A MORE ELECT ABLE  PRESIDENTIAL CANDIDATE—since he is leading in the popular vote and in pledged delegates that represent the will of the American People.  Oh, rest assure, we Democrats will prevail because somewhere, I once read, yes,  that’s’ it---A government for the people—by the people---Yes, yes They must have been talking about the “Super Delegates.”   Not.
If the situation were reversed and Hillary had an insurmountable lead in pledged delegates, a committee of Democratic leaders ( Joe Biden, Chris Dodd, John Edwards, Bill Richardson, and maybe even Al ) would try to get Obama to concede for the unity of the party. But this group of pathetic wimps would not dare stand up to the flim flam man who is perceived to be their leader. Rather, they will allow their party to rip itself apart over the next several months, why?, because the flim flam man's wife is the opposing candidate.
"Barack Obama has delegates and math on his side."
Who needs a soft science like math on their side?  Why would he want more delegates? (Yes, that is sarcasm.)

In the big picture, the net total of 4 delegates that Clinton gained from her (not-surprising) victories are irrelevant.  What is relevant is the spin that the MSM is putting out.  It's been a pretty tough week in the Obama camp, but if that is as bad is it is going to get he's in pretty good shape.
I cannot stress enough that a lot of Blacks are VERY, VERY upset with the Clintons dirty tactics and will NOT, NOT, vote for the Clintons in November.

Be careful DNC, can you afford to allow the Clintons to push your Black base to McCain? or to simply drop out of the process all together?

I have a 24 year old son who has gone from being so full of excitement, hope and enthusiasm for his generation's participation in taking over the future of this country, turn into being cynical, angry, hopeless and helpless, not just with the political process, but with the manipulative role of the media. It hurts me to see the change in him, but I can't seem to find the encouragement in myself to tell him things will ever get better.
Hillary Clinton is one of the smartest women in America and knows our government well. Do people not take this into consideration when voting for a candidate. I feel some people won't vote for her because she is a woman.  What a shame!
The Boston Globe’s Vennochi:
"Tuesday was a good night for voters who aren't Hillary haters or Obama worshipers."
--I still cannot understand why the plays into the superlative Clinton rhetoric.  This essentially states that all Obama supporters are irrationally for Obama and irrationally against Clinton.  Everybody else would support Clinton.  As a rational Obama supporter I feel marginalized and victimized by the media ...do you think this will pity me some votes?
Trev, Obama is not against a revote in Florida and Michigan. http://www.talkleft.com/story/2008/3/5/9510/72783
It is disheartening to hear so much venom being spewed by supporters of each candidate. Eventually, we must come together and support one of these people against Senator McCain.

After an examination of Senator Obama's and Senator Clinton's records in the Senate, it is clear to this voter that Senator Obama is more concerned about actual issues that affect me and my family.

I am going to make this short as i have already posted it on another story. Texas caucus result should be set aside. Challenges and charges have been filed.I live in an urban district. The caucuses were a mob scene, organized chaos and corrupted. One Clinton election official had to flee to a police station with a mob of Obama supporters (some local and some out of towners) chasing after her. At another site, the Clinton sign in talley sheets, while in the hands of an Obama official disappeared.Obama supporters grabbed control of the caucus, interpreted the rules to suit themselves, mostly contrary to the rules themselves.Google Dallas Morning News, dated 3-5-08.
Clinton is a plague in the political landscape.  She has shown herself to be incompetent in delegating responsibility and her finances ($5 million loan to self for campaign mis-managment like $500k spent for parking) and is so polarizing as to setup Bush and Co for 8 years after the first Clinton.  Scandals follow the Clintons like a shadow and why won't they release their tax returns?  Why people think that Clinton is somehow going to take care of them is beyond me.
