Obama camp: 'different standard'

Posted: Friday, March 07, 2008 3:43 PM by Domenico Montanaro

From NBC’s Domenico Montanaro
The Obama campaign responded on Samantha Power’s resignation and said there “seems to be a different standard in the Clinton campaign” on personal attacks.

“She made the right decision,” Obama Campaign Manager David Plouffe said of Power, a Pulitzer-prize winning author and Harvard professor who helped shape Obama’s foreign policy, before describing her as “a brilliant person.” But “we cannot condone those types of comments.”

He continued though to say that there “seems to be a different standard in the Clinton campaign.” He cited supporter Bob Johnson, who alluded to Obama’s drug use in South Carolina; Tom Buffenbarger, president of the machinists' union, who vitriolically trashed Obama in Ohio; and Tom Vilsack, who attacked Rudy Giuliani on the number of his marriages and the relationship with his children.

“It took them days to admit they were offensive comments,” Plouffe said of Johnson’s comments. And on Vilsack’s comments on Giuliani, there was “no action there,” Plouffe said. Clinton, Plouffe points out, never apologized for Buffenbarger’s remarks -- calling Obama “Janus, the two-faced Roman god of ancient times” and attacking his supporters as “latte-drinking, Prius-driving, Birkenstock-wearing, trust fund babies” -- at an event she was at and later followed him on stage.

“Apparently there are different standards here as it relates to people outside the campaign,” he added.

On Obama's 16-month Iraq withdrawal plan, Power told BBC that it was a “best-case scenario,” that nothing firm could be decided in March 2008 without seeing the situation on the ground in Jan. 2009 and that "He will, of course, not rely on some plan that he’s crafted as a presidential candidate or a U.S. Senator." When asked about it, Plouffe defended Obama's plan and deflected by pointing to retired Gen. Jack Keane's comments on Clinton’s own intentions on withdrawing troops from Iraq.

“He did not believe that she will pursue a quick withdrawal,” Plouffe said of Keane, who he said Clinton has developed a “close relationship” with.

Keane told the New York Sun this past weekend: "I have no doubts whatsoever that if she were president in January '09 she would not act irresponsibly and issue orders to conduct an immediate withdrawal from Iraq, regardless of the consequences, and squander the gains that have been made."

He also said Clinton "generally supported the surge strategy in the sense she wanted it to succeed but she was skeptical about its chances."

Plouffe also hit Clinton in his opening remarks again on what he called “a pattern of secrecy,” re-iterating his claim that “Sen. Clinton is one of the most secretive politicians in America today,” he said -- though note the amending that she is “one of” not “the.”

“In recent days and weeks,” Plouffe said, “the Clinton campaign is trying to suggest there are unknowns about Obama. This is an absurd claim. … There has been enormous scrutiny.” Plouffe cited that this has been a more than 13-month campaign with newspapers from around the country and world who have looked at the candidates’ records.

“The point of vetting and scrutiny raises questions about them [the Clinton campaign],” Plouffe said. “They act like any question about them” is off limits.

He went on to cite again that the Clintons have not released their full tax returns, including “schedules” for the past six years. “They can go to Kinko’s and do that,” Plouffe said. He said the tax returns could answer questions about Hillary and Bill Clinton’s “relationship with individuals who have ethical digressions.” He added, “We want full and complete accounting, including schedules. If they don’t do that, it raises huge red flags. …”

“At same time she’s trumpeting her experience, she’s preventing the American people from reviewing that experience by releasing these documents. If she’s not open and honest in this campaign, you have to wonder if she’ll be open and honest as president….

“We don’t need more George Bush secrecy in the White House.”

Obama Camp,

Evil never wins. What you put out into the world that is bad, will come back to you even harder. She will get her just rewards in due time.
MS--  The Jackson Free Press
enthusiastically endorses Barack Obama for the Mississippi Democratic primary on March 11. We believe strongly that Obama brings the change and enthusiasm that Mississippians, and Americans, desire in order that we might find unity as a nation after a long period of very partisan leadership from both major parties. We admire Obama's ability to get younger voters, as well as non-white voters, excited about turning out to vote. That, added to his remarkable appeal to white voters, including many Republicans, can mean the kind of leadership many Americans, and Mississippians, crave.

Perhaps most of all, we admire Obama's willingness to stand up for what he believes, particularly his stance against a poorly executed war in Iraq, in which many Mississippians lost family members. And we feel secure that he is ready to take the presidency after eight years of George W. Bush and turn the country in the right direction toward fiscal responsibility and renewed hope for the future.

Obama is bringing excitement, and hope, back to politics for many people who had lost it. The Jackson Free Press encourages all eligible voters to vote for Barack Obama in Tuesday's primary election.

Hillary has a biased and deceitful media machine working on her behalf. What's worse is that she and her campaign managers are liars and have no class.

In the 25 years that I have followed democratic politics never did I see a candidate like Hillary stoop so low in terms against a party opponent as Hillary has.

Hillary continually shows no respect for Barack. She smiles in his face in person and offers glowing comments about his character and then turns around and calls him an unfit liar who is worst than the opposing party's nominee.

Hillary is classless and I wish ruin on her political career from here forward.

Minorities, please join me in boycotting Hillary "Republican" Clinton.
this is a good article about the huge mess the dems are getting into right now...this primary needs to be settled ASAP!:  http://www.tnr.com/politics/story.html?id=ba30ff16-a5af-4035-a883-cf15ffee406c

.  Why not more coverage of the possibility of "voter" fraud in Ohio with many republicans admitting they voted for Clinton as weaker candidate against McCain.
2.   In polls reflecting percentages for Clinton vs Mcain nationally, make sure they reflect the STRONG inevitability that they cannot include the majority of the BLACK vote that she will lose if this nomination is stolen from Obama.

ummm its not fraud. Its call an open election.

I talked about this before Republicans messing with the democrats primaries and people taught I was crazy or making excuse for Clinton losing. Now that it affected Obama all of the sudden its fraud.I didn't see you people call it fraud when VA republicans voted for Obama just to mess with Clinton.I know it happened in VA because I know people that did it.

CLinton 08
Just usual clintons thinking americans are stupid. We can talk about you but it wrong to talk about us . what she does is keep the media talking about these things and hope they forget about like Naftagate, Peter Paul, tax returns, pardons, white house records, filegate, whitewater, travelgate, etc!!!!!! and the fact that her campain says if you not from a state they have won that your state is a not important state to her so everyone out there from these states need to keep this in mind. maybe a media outlet other than the NY Times will step up and report some of these issues instead of hidding behind blogs. The media has a fear of the Clintons today alone they had 4 clips of sen. Clintons team on the campain trail 5 segments of positive Clinton outlooks 4 Guest on there talk shows all clinton supporters. and 2 small peices on Sen. Obama imparcial coverage no cowardly coverage.
The point is Hillary is not electable.  If she were to win the nomination, there is no way I would vote for her.  Obama vs. McCain is a difficult decision for me but Hillary put my vote for McCain.  It is as simple as that!

say what?
BTW Patty, are you the same Patty that was fired as Clinton's campaign manager?

You sound very much like a campaign insider.
Well at least the Clinton supporters, few that they are, have found a home at First Read. I was concerned that they only had Taylor Marsh and mydd to cling to.

I have confidence Change and Optimism will win over Gutter Politics and Bitterness. But good luck to you and your bitterness!
Oh yeah it was Hillary Clintons campaign that told the Canadian government not to take her statements seriously

Please stop spreading lies.
Hillary Clinton is worst than a MONSTER...Hillary Clinton is a SELF ABSORBED MONSTER, and ONE OF THE MOST CORRUPT POLITICIANS IN AMERICAN HISTORY.

Clinton campaign backers need to be asking Howard Wolfson to step down for his comments.

Samantha Power told the truth...and she did the right thing...she took the high road...maybe Hillary Clinton will learn how to be as special as this lady is.

Samantha Power...your greatness will be remembered and you will live to play in this game another day...May God Always Bless You. Just remember that Barack Obama will live out the purpose that God created him for. Our Lord Jesus Christ walks with him.

We are bound in a battle of Good (Barack Obama) vs. Evil (Hillary Clinton). We will stand with Barack to the end either directly or indirectly. The Bible tells of that EVIL will not win.

This is the United States and already Hillary Clinton and her clowns have started to restrict our rights to speech free.

People wakeup...Evil will not prevail.
On the subject of intelligence, Patty in San Diego:

The idiot Obama finished number 1 in his law class at Harvard, and was given the prestigious honor of editing the Harvard Law Review.

The genius Hillary failed the bar twice.

Your turn!

Obama in 2008.  Integrity matters and the Clintons have none.
Patty, sd,ca: Ummmmmmmmmm, YOU'RE the one not so bright! Your blogs are becoming more meaningless as the days go by. If you have nothing intelligent to say, stay in your room and finger paint.
Obama's camp is not desperate. How can that be? He's got a statistically insurmountable lead in pledged delegates, has gained supers as "Hilldog" has lost them, and has only to simply defend himself from her baseless, false, and, frankly, juvenile, kitchen sink campaign tactics. I find it fascinating, and slightly disheartening, that her supporters follow her so blindly that they can not see that, if she has to, she will tear this party to shreds to have a chance at this nomination, she wants it for herself.

I for one, would rather not put a power hungry, nearly bi-polar sociopath into office.

Obama all the way, he MUST be our next President
Calling someone a monster is a direct insult to them as a person.  Making reference to prior drug use is merely referring to a fact of someone's past.  Very different stuff.

Why is anyone supporting either one of these thieves?  They have both stated that they want to and will make sure to raise taxes as soon as they take the oath of office.  Hasn't the middle class taken enough of a beating with gas prices and inflation without the gov stealing more of our paychecks.
Hillary Clinton unscrupulously switches between victim and barracuda with machine-like efficiency and the press eats it up. They love that quality politics of personal destruction that only the Clinton brand can deliver. That's why outrageous attacks get reported within seconds and the truth (like NAFTAgate) gets ignored.
Bravo! The Clinton camp has manipulated perceptions continually and it's time to start getting the truth out there. They have gotten away with " We make all the rules here and it's so because we say it's so."long enough. The fighter/victim routine is worn pretty thin.
Clinton's Backers Should Ask Her To Step Down

This why....

"Hillary Clinton lied to the voters in the Washington Post in Aug 2000, she vowed not to accept money from Peter Paul and that Peter Paul gave no money for her Gala- (she then had her finance director fax Mr. Paul on her letterhead a demand for another $100,000! She filed 3 FALSE  FEC reports that denied the public's right to know Mr. Paul was really her largest donor- she filed a 4th false report AFTER the Rosen trial - January 30, 2006 - when his prosecutor said it was a felony to deny the public's right to know Mr. Paul; gave over $1.2 million to Hillary's campaign."

These backers will support a liar and cheat (Hillary Clinton) but, they want Ms. Power to step down for speaking the truth and exercising a right given to us as Americans.

I do not know whether this is sad or just plain SICK.

Hillary Clintons needs to step down and the DNC needs to tell her to.

Hillary Clinton is worst than a MONSTER...Hillary Clinton is a SELF ABSORBED MONSTER, and ONE OF THE MOST CORRUPT POLITICIANS IN AMERICAN HISTORY.
These posts are entertaining...as a therapist, I see many of you are in need of some real help.  I also suspect you need some serious meds.  Do yourselves all a favor, and get professional help.
Kathryn in Bham said: (about Barack) "I see the advertisements and I hear the propoganda...but I don't see the goods" .......Then you're not looking!....his accomplishments are astounding, his choice to forsake wall street (as a young lawyer) to help the jobless in Chicago speaks very well. He taught Constitutional Law and respects the Constitution of the United States of America. The shear volume of work he has done in the Senate is very impressive. As one example, his bill to keep lead out of children's toys went considerably farther than Senator Clinton's and risked angering manufacturers, Hillary's fell well short but was "safe" for her political well being. It goes on & on for anyone who WANTS to see it.
You know the truth is the Clintons have been saying these types of things about Obama from day one. What Obama needs to do is hit her and hit her hard. If he continues to sit back he will loose the presidency. I would LOVE for her to get hit and get hit hard. OBAMA 08!

Is Hillary's Plan to divide the Part to get on the VP ticket and if not make sure she's hurt Obama enough to ensure he LOSES against McCain and thus she runs for President in 2012 ( a la Reagan).

Newsweek article by Eleanor Clift:

"The two contested nominations of the modern era—Kennedy-Carter in '80 and Reagan-Ford in '76—offer clues as to what may lie ahead. In each case, the candidate with the most pledged delegates going into the convention won the nomination. Each then went on to lose the general election. Clinton backers point to the Reagan model. Governor Reagan stayed in the fight all the way to the convention. He had a hundred delegates fewer than Ford, roughly the same deficit Clinton has today. Reagan helped insure his party's defeat but nailed the nomination four years later."

She is so Selfish!
Samantha Powers wasn't even a paid adviser, I hope its legal for him to take her advice, she really is a brilliant person.

What's all this nonsense about Rezko, which has been explained and fact-checked.  Rezko's current legal troubles have nothing to do with Barack, but the media keeps harping on it.  On the other hand, the Clinton's have an upcoming lawsuit regarding campaign funds fraud, and yet no coverage in the media on this.  Where's the outrage?

All of the candidates are and are going to become even more aggressive in attacking each other’s credentials.  The funny thing is that when you discount time on the job without meaningful results as being simply of minimal importance, then not one of them has a whole lot to brag about.  Maybe that is why they aggressively attack their opponents’ records and only make abstract and questionable references to their own credits.  We also are now going to see a lot of nonsense, ‘Swift boat’ style, with well funded, pseudo-independent 501/527 groups attempting to coerce public opinion for/against individual candidates and the only truth you can know for sure about them is that they are totally biased and lack any conscience.  Then the candidates themselves have said and will continue to say a lot about what they will/won’t do, what their opponents will/won’t do and what that means to particular groups of voters, all without any factual checks being available until after the fact.  Everything, all of this, is being aimed at literally manipulating public opinion and creating voters’ loyalty.  It would seem that possibly the best we can do is close our eyes and ears to all of the smoke-screens and maybe just throw a dart at a list to make our selection.
That doesn’t seem very realistic and from the recent past we can vividly see the real problem with allowing the manipulation to occur, so what can we do?  Personally I agree with the majority of voters in that we need significant change, change from the current direction and change from politics as usual, to see our representatives become honestly and conscientiously focused on real benefit for the average American and not just for Special Interests who then return benefit to the policy makers.  How can we confidently see through all of the deception and subterfuge mentioned to influence that to happen?  As I see it there is actually only one way and that is to be disciplined to put our own biases aside, to thereby avoid being manipulated and to then objectively determine who we think really has the character to do the job.  Who actually has the required honesty, integrity, compassion, strength and humility (yes humility, which is required and important to not alienate and rather to encourage needed cooperation)?  If we each can have the conviction to do that, to be factually objective in our choice, then I think the result will benefit America.

Once in a lifetime someone comes along and challenges the status quo through thoughtful intelligence.  Once in a lifetime someone comes along that speaks with such eloquence other are forced to listen. Once in a lifetime someone comes along who truly cares to empower the average American, instead of placate the privileged few. Once in a lifetime someone comes along that has the courage to challenge the special interest , a dangerous thing to do. Once in a lifetime someone comes along who lifts the spirit of all Americans!  The question is: are you really going to let this-- once in a lifetime-- opportunity --to correct our bought and paid for governments (by special interest)--pass you by?

This does not describe Hillary Clinton or Mc Cain

Think about it.
I want to salute Samantha Powers.

Now there is a strong, courageous, intelligent woman.

The kind of woman Hillary once was.

Thank you Samantha for saying out loud what everybody knows "off the record" (BTW:why?).

Hillary.com, et al, is a true Wehrmacht, a ruthless war machine devouring any and all in its way.

Your saying the word uncovers the mask, Samantha.

Hillary has become a Monster.

In the long haul, this will help Obama if the American people can feel the rumble of tanks already on the street...

Anyone who cares this hubristic and cold can only outdo Bush/Cheney/Rove if she ever rises from the ashes of her own moral implosion to lead anything or anybody again.

Samantha, you have my vote!
I can't decide what's more comical:  Obama's complete inability to take a little heat, or his whining supporters' inability to do so.
Dazed and Confused (Sent Friday, March 07, 2008 4:24 PM)

Obama is alittle brat that has a bunch of college kids following him around like groupies. To be President, it takes more than inspiring a bunch of college kids.

If Obama can't take the heat then he should get out of the kitchen
I'm looking forward to Saturday and Tuesday, two states that will give Obama back his momentum.

As for last Tuesday, he won more delegates than Clinton in Texas, so things look even better.

The way things are going now, he simply has to win the states he's expected to win, the get 100 or so more super delegates onboard to seal the deal.  Should be no problem.
Go Gore - I'd vote for him in a heartbeat.  I did before and I will again.  He would be the best president EVER!!!!
Hopefully the more time we spend listening to Obammy the more he will show he has no experience when it comes to dealing with real problems. Heck even when it's just a vote in the ILL goverment he couldn't say yea or nae.
HRC has, from what I can gather has no "real" first-hand experience. As she said on the election trail; voting for her is voting for an ex-presdent. The American experience with Hillary during this election is that she will do anything to win including play the media bias card, the sexism card, the race card, the super-negative destroy Obamas' image at any cost card, and the to hell with the possible damage to the democratic party in november card. I think if the media were really un-biased, she would not be in the race once the mountain of evidence documenting that she actually as little experience in world matters were revealed. She is only riding on the coat tail of Bills' experience. I don't want a President who would do anything to win. Especially if it hurts the reputation and political hopes of a fellow Democratic or a Republican candidate. As an American, I am so tired of the political BS. This nation is in deep trouble no matter what the subject and Hillary is not the person to mend this nation. The RNC of course is playing her like a fiddle and succeeding in damaging the chances of Obama being in a position of streangth in the November contest with Mccain. If everyone plays by the rules, the person with the most delegates, popular vote, and and popularity with the democratic base will be the Democratic nominee and the next president of the country.
Hillary, "You" have nothing to say on this issue.

"YOU" voted to give Bush approval to invade Iraq and to get us in this mess in the first place.

Therefore, "YOU" should be held just as accountable for the deaths of thousands of Amercians and Iraqis as GWB.

And therefore "YOU" should not even be considered as a viable candidate for the President of the United States.

As goes Bush so goes McCain. As goes McCain so goes Hillary.

Obama, start running TV Ads showing a picture of wounded Amercian troopers coming home from Iraq with Hillary's face superimposed on the same picture with the statement added below - Hillary Voted For This War.

Breaking the Final Rule
Posted March 7, 2008 | 12:45 PM (EST)

It will come as a surprise to many people that there are rules in politics. Most of those rules are unwritten and are based on common understandings, acceptable practices, and the best interest of the political party a candidate seeks to lead. One of those rules is this: Do not provide ammunition to the opposition party that can be used to destroy your party's nominee. This is a hyper-truth where the presidential contest is concerned.

Comments
By saying that only she and John McCain are qualified to lead the country, particularly in times of crisis, Hillary Clinton has broken that rule, severely damaged the Democratic candidate who may well be the party's nominee, and, perhaps most ominously, revealed the unlimited lengths to which she will go to achieve power. She has essentially said that the Democratic party deserves to lose unless it nominates her.

As a veteran of red telephone ads and "where's the beef" cleverness, I am keenly aware that sharp elbows get thrown by those trailing in the fourth quarter (and sometimes even earlier). "Politics ain't beanbag," is the old slogan. But that does not mean that it must also be rule-or-ruin, me-first-and-only-me, my way or the highway. That is not politics. That is raw, unrestrained ambition for power that cannot accept the will of the voters.

Senator Obama is right to say the issue is judgment not years in Washington. If Mrs. Clinton loses the nomination, her failure will be traced to the date she voted to empower George W. Bush to invade Iraq. That is not the kind of judgment, or wisdom, required by the leader answering the phone in the night. For her now to claim that Senator Obama is not qualified to answer the crisis phone is the height of irony if not chutzpah, and calls into question whether her primary loyalty is to the Democratic party and the nation or to her own ambition.

Hillary Clinton...She is a
Slanghter...Liar...Evil...Twisted...Bully...Dirty with Scandal...

The real Hillary Clinton stood up at the Democratic presidential debate this week: angry, sarcastic, stubborn, secretive, arrogant, mired in the past, victim of the media, and still firmly convinced that she is uniquely entitled to the Democratic Party nomination and the presidency.

That Hillary hasn't really been on display much since the debacle of her disastrous health care plan and the end of Bill Clinton's impeachment trial, when she haughtily flaunted her combative personality.

But make no mistake about it - that's the Hillary Clinton that we'll see if she somehow manages to steal the Democratic nomination.

She's found her voice. The one that so alienated everyone she came into contact with over her health care plan that her own party destroyed it. The one that publicly and loudly defended Bill and arranged for attacks on Monica Lewinsky when she knew the complete and sordid truth.

She's always had a chip on her shoulder and a strange paranoia, but it's definitely gotten worse. Now it's not just the vast right wing conspiracy that is out to get her. Now it's the mainstream media. How are they doing that? By asking her the first questions at the debates!

Hillary's snide comment about whether Barack needed a pillow to be made more comfortable was downright embarrassing. The anticipated applause line on her script never happened. The audience was silent. The press was amazed. And Barack seemed genuinely startled by her nuttiness - he looked over at her as if he was viewing a dotty old aunt at a family dinner, the one that everyone politely humors.

Her lifelong pattern of secrecy was once again evident. While publicly promoting transparency in government, she steadfastly refuses to release her personal income tax returns. That's a clear tip-off that there's something to hide. Recall that the Clintons selectively released tax returns in Arkansas, but refused to go back to 1980, when Hillary had her windfall in cattle futures.

During the debate, Hillary suggested that she'd release the returns "soon," but her staff quickly backtracked. She implied that she's been too busy to deal with releasing the returns. Does she really think anyone believes that it will take more than simply making a copy of the return? She's stalling and there's a reason for that.

Most likely, the return will show how much Bill has been making from his partnership with the Sheik of Dubai and his other business ventures. Should the spouse of a presidential candidate be in business with a foreign leader who needs favors from the U.S. government? Definitely not. That's why we'll never see those returns.

And then there are the Clinton Library records that document her schedule as first lady. She doesn't want them released either because they will definitively show that she was never the co-president. The Library has been stalling on the release of those documents for years. During the debate, she said that she wanted them released as quickly as possible and seemed to blame the Bush administration for the delay. But today, the White House indicated that she had made no requests for any expedited release.

The old Hillary, the real Hillary, is back.

And there's apparently been no one to stop her from acting on her own worse instincts.

Underneath the veneer of the practiced smile and the strategically used giggle, there is a rage that is always close to the surface. It was on display in the debate.

Hillary Clinton is furious that America has not agreed to her coronation. She doesn't understand why voters are rejecting her and embracing Barack Obama. She just doesn't get it.

Never one to engage in self reflection, she can't blame herself or even her incompetent strategists and advisers. They're too close to her. She can't accept the sorry fact that her campaign has been a disaster because it was based on the past and not the future, because it was premised on her phony experience and maintaining the status quo, and because her negative outlook is completely out of step with the mood of America. And finally, because in the positive message of Barack Obama, Americans see a stark contrast with her doom and gloom view of the world.

bshult:  Yeah, now that we've said, let's not say it any more!  That's a lot like "So far as I know," isn't it?!?
As the Tony Rezko trial begins in Chicago, Clinton and her surrogates are linking Obama to Rezko and the media is speculating about whether Obama will be called to testify as a witness in the case. Obama has always admitted he received $85,000 in contributions from Rezko which Obama has now donated to charity rather than keep.

Yet the civil fraud trial of Bill Clinton for defrauduing Hillary’s largest donor in 2000 into giving her campaign more than $1.2 million,  pending in Los Angeles courts  since 2003, is now preparing for a November, 2008 trial. The discovery that is now proceeding after a February 21 hearing, and the pending trial, have NEVER been announced by the mainstream media.

Hillary was able to extricate herself as a co-defendant in the case in January, 2008 after years of appeals  to be protected by  the First Amendment  from tort claims arising out of federal campaign solicitations she made. Her abuse of the intent of California’s anti-SLAPP law after the California Supreme Court refused to dismiss her from the case in 2004 is emblematic of her contempt for the Rule of Law.

Hillary will be called as a witness in both discovery and the trial according to the trial court Judge who so-advised Hillary’s attorney David Kendall when he dismissed Hillary as a co-defendant in 2007. A subpoena is being prepared this month and will be served personally on Hillary, along with Chelsea, Pa Gov. Ed Rendell, Al Gore and other well known political and media figures.

Yet the media has refused to report about this landmark civil fraud case- brought by Hillary’s biggest 2000 donor to her Senate race, regarding allegations that were corroborated by the Department of Justice in the criminal trial of Hillary’s finance director David Rosen in May, 2005. That indictment and trial was credited as resulting from the civil suit’s allegations by Peter Paul, the Hollywood dot com millionaire Bill Clinton convinced to donate more than $1.2 million (according to the DOJ prosecutors and the FBI) to Hillary’s Senate campaign as part of a post White House business deal with Bill.

The media - except for World Net Daily- has also suspiciously refused to report on Hillary’s last FEC report regarding her 2000 Senate campaign, filed in January 30, 2006. In a secret settlement of an FEC complaint by the plaintiff in Paul v Clinton, Peter Paul, the FEC fined Hillary’s campaign $35,000 for hiding more than $720,000 in donations from Paul, and it required Hillary’s campaign to file a 4th amended FEC report.

In that report Hillary and her campaign again hid Paul’s $1.2 million contribution to her campaign and falsely attributed $250,000 as being donated by Paul’s partner, Spider Man creator Stan Lee, who swore in a video taped deposition he never gave Hillary or her campaign any money.

Lee did testify to trading $100,000 checks with Paul to make it appear he gave $100,000 to Hillary’s campaign (admission of a felony) but none of that has been reported by the “overly critical” media!

Where is the outrage from Obama that the press is engaging in a double standard relating to his possible role in the Rezko trial and his refunding the $85,000 contributed to his campaign by Rezko- which Obama has always admitted taking. The media makes no mention of Hillary’s role as a witness in Bill’s fraud trial for defrauding Hillary’s largest donor- and Hillary’s refusal to refund the $1.2 million she illegally received from Paul, which she has denied taking from Paul ever since the Washington Post asked her about Paul and his felony convictions from the 1970’s before her first Senate election in 2000?

It's nice to hear this but I want to see Obama take a podium and talk about this. This guy is hitting the right notes..but it's still a weak response. Obama come out and speak!
Obama in 2008.  Integrity matters and the Clintons have none.

Sick of corruption, sick of the Clintons (Sent Friday, March 07, 2008 4:33 PM)

Integrity?

Obama wouldn't know about integrity if it hit him on the face.

One word for you Rezko
If Hillary Clinton is trumpeting her experience honestly, here's what she should say:

SENATOR HILLARY CLINTON’S 35 YEARS OF EXPERIENCE

3 years

Practicing attorney, community activist

14 years

Campaigning for Bill Clinton: 3 gubernatorial campaigns and 2 Presidential campaigns. Leading 2 of her own Senatorial campaigns. Two years per campaign.

12 years

First Lady, with no responsibility and no authority. 8 years as First Lady of Arkansas and 8 years as First Lady of the U.S. The 16 years as First Lady have been adjusted down six years due to overlap of campaigning experience while First Lady.

6 years

U.S. Senator of New York. Adjusted 2 years for campaigning for second term while in office.

That makes:

40%

Experience campaigning

34%

Experience in an honorary position with no authority nor responsibility

17%

Experience as a U.S. Senator

9 %

Experience as  practicing attorney, community activist

Hillary Clinton’s adult experience has been spent primarily campaigning and holding honorary positions.

Words cannot express the contempt I hold for Hillary Clinton and her campaign. They referred to their current tactics as the "kitchen sink" strategy, but they appear to have originated different porcelain fixture in a different room of the house. Why isn't anyone on MSNBC except Keith Olbermann calling her out on this nonsense?
Sen. Hillary Clinton has declined to return $170,000 in campaign contributions from individuals at a company accused of widespread sexual harassment, and whose CEO is a disbarred lawyer with a criminal record, federal campaign records show.

The federal government has accused the Illinois management consulting firm, International Profit Associates, or IPA, of a brazen pattern of sexual harassment including "sexual assaults," "degrading anti-female language" and "obscene suggestions."

In a 2001 lawsuit full of lurid details, the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission claims that 103 women employees at IPA were victimized for years. The civil case is ongoing, and IPA vigorously denies the allegations.

"This is by far, hands down, the worst case I've ever experienced," said Diane Smason, one of the EEOC lawyers handling the lawsuit. "Every woman there experienced sex harassment, they were part of a hostile work environment of sex harassment. And this occurred from the top down."

Sen. Clinton's spokesman, Howard Wolfson, told NBC News in a statement that the senator decided to keep the funds because the lawsuit is "ongoing" and because none of the sexual harassment allegations has been proven in court.

"With regard to the pending harassment suit, as a general matter, the campaign assesses findings of fact in deciding whether to return contributions," Wolfson said.
Obama really needs to get out of the race.  He is becoming an embarasment to the democratic party -not to mention just plain dividing it.  I'd say he is a self proclaimed "unifier" because obviously that isn't going to happen.
