Obama surrogates defend candidate

From NBC's Victoria Riess and Lauren Gall
Seeking to further combat the Clinton campaign’s insinuations that Obama would not be suited to serve as Commander-In-Chief, the candidate was praised by three of his military advisors in a press conference in DC.

The advisers, took of whom served under Bill Clinton, lauded Obama’s judgment and leadership qualities, touted his ability to unify the country.

Clifford Alexander, Secretary of the Army in the Carter administration reflected on Obama's qualifications. "I've known Barack since the mid-90s,” he said, “I've seen him in lots of positions, and I compare his leadership skills, most favorably, with the civilian and military leaders that I've seen throughout my professional life."

Secretary of the Navy under the Clinton administration, Richard Danzig, described Obama's ability to lead as obvious. "I think people recognize, anybody who deals with Sen. Barack Obama, what an extraordinary Commander-In-Chief he would be," Danzig said. "And I think it's difficult for others to effectively deny that. … The reality is, as Secretary Alexander said right at the outset, and Secretary Peters seconded it, it's character, and it's judgment."

Susan Rice, foreign policy adviser to Obama, re-iterated that “none of the three remaining candidates in the field have been in an executive position whereby they've had to respond to that proverbial 3 am crisis, and for Sen. Clinton and others to suggest that somehow their experience as first lady or some other set of experience uniquely qualifies them for that phone call is a dubious proposition.”

Alexander said with regard to Clinton’s tendency to name military officials in her list of supporters, "I do think that it is important not to count the countries you've gone into, and not to count the number of people that you know, but to understand fully that you are going to be a better leader if you have consistency, good judgment, thoughtfulness, and an ability to execute. Sen. Obama during this campaign has exhibited those traits."

Why is it okay for senator Clinton's camp to proclaim she would not recklessly pull troops out of Iraq (within 60 days) and would meet with military types to figure the best way forward once in office, but when Samantha Powers says that Obama is not going to rely on a plan devised years before the election without much of the info (meeting with military types) he would have as president, it is seen as something else entirely.  It is the same position and it better be the position of every candidate in the race.
"COULD SOME PLEASE TELL ME, THE NAME OF OBAMA'S BOOK ? THE ONE HE TELLS US ABOUT HIS PAST DRUG USAGE WITH COCAINE."

"The only thing he will be president of is farrakhan's church."

This is so sad. I know there are many Hillary supporters with plenty of valid reasons for supporting their candiate. Is this really the level level of discourse you want to stoop to?
WHY HASN'T HILLARY PRODUCED THE PAPERS FROM THE WHITE HOUSE YEARS TO PROVE HER EXPERIENCE AS CO-PRESIDENT?

SHE HAS ASKED THE AMERICAN PUBLIC TO HIRE HER!  THEN WE SHOULD APPLY THE SAME PRINCIPLES TO HER THAT I HAVE TO GO THROUGH TO GET EMPLOYMENT.  WE NEED A RESUME, BACKGROUND CHECK, DRUG & CREDIT CHECK -- WE CANNOT TAKE YOUR WORD!

IT IS TIME TO PRODUCE PAPERS OR SHUT UP!

I UNDERSTAND THE GOVERNOR OF NEW YORK POSITION IS OPEN!  GO APPLY FOR IT!
I applaud thes folks of service as I do the msnbc team for printing something positive on Barrack Obama's behalf. I really believe Obam will be a fantastic President...

Obama '08
Let's not forget his endorsement by the chair of the Senate Intelligence Committee.  Senator Obama also has more colleagues in the senate supporting him than does Clinton.  The people who work with them forging national and domestic policy trust Barack more.
See Time Magazine's March 10 issue for "The Science of Experience" which points out that those with experience make as many mistakes as those without when a crisis arises.  The key, say the data, is leadership - and there's no doubt that Obama's leadership skills are outstanding as compared to Clinton's (for example, her campaign).
Patty, you are all over this one ... making up for lost time?  The News Cycle has changed ... get hip with it!  Count with your hands and toes the people who have been fired or left the Clinton camp to date.  What's with this dissaray inside the campaign that even Wolfson on TV admits to (as being a healthy thing! talk about spin) ... And why are you against your own Candidate saying she will consider Obama as VP?  Do you not trust her judgment?  What?  No?  Does that mean you are a traitor?  Or is there another reason?  Ahhh I hear ya ... I hear ya ...

In (cyber) space ... no one can hear you scream.

Obama protests to much. It just further proof of what a weakling he is. Barack would struggle running a Cub Scout pack, let alone being CIC.
Patty, SD, CA... please stop with the trolling. We're all sick of reading your BS. If your candidate had one iota of the experience she claims, she wouldn't be trailing... she'd be -- er, what's the word? oh, yes... -- LEADING. But she's not.
