Hillary to fire back

Posted: Tuesday, March 11, 2008 10:20 AM by Domenico Montanaro

From NBC's Andrea Mitchell
A day after Obama hit Clinton hard in Mississippi, she is going to return the favor in Pennsylvania. Clinton is going to hammer Obama this afternoon in Harrisburg, Pa., according to prepared speech excerpts released by her campaign.

She will go after him on issues that started to work for her in Ohio, and the campaign thinks could have similar impact on voters in Pennsylvania -- NAFTA, Iraq, Energy and being true to his promises.

Examples show she's following up on the Goolsbee-Canadian government issue and on Samantha Power. See below:

"The true test comes when it's time to match rhetoric with results,” Clinton will say. “And unfortunately, we've seen that Senator Obama's promises and speeches are often just words." …

"On the campaign trail, Sen. Obama talks about clean energy. But in the Senate, he voted for Dick Cheney's energy bill loaded with new tax breaks for oil companies. When he faced a tough choice, his support for a clean energy future turned out to be just words." …

"It's like how he talks about fixing NAFTA. But his top economic adviser assured the Canadian government that he wouldn't really follow through. His position? Just words." …

"Senator Obama promises to withdraw from Iraq within 16 months. But his top foreign policy adviser said he's not really going to rely on that plan. I guess that plan is just words, too." …

"We need a president who will solve problems, who will fight for our families long after the speeches are over and the cameras are gone. That's the choice in this campaign: Solutions you can rely on -- versus words you can't."

*** UPDATE *** The Obama campaign responds this way: “Proving once again that she will say and do anything to win this election, Senator Clinton today has unleashed a kitchen sink of distorted and discredited attacks that she knows aren't true. Barack Obama isn't about to be lectured on words from someone who's actions spoke much louder when she voted against renewable fuels and higher CAFÉ standards until she started running for President, championed NAFTA as good for America until she started running for President, and supported George Bush's disastrous war in Iraq until she started running for President.

“The fact is, the energy bill that Senator Clinton is using to score cheap political points actually raised taxes on oil companies and made the largest investment in renewable energy in our nation's history, including the tax credit that's kept the wind industry afloat and helped create jobs like the ones at the plant Barack Obama is visiting today.  If Senator Clinton wants to have an honest debate about why she voted against that bill, we're happy to have it, but she owes the voters of Pennsylvania more than same old attack politics that Americans have already rejected across the country.”

Hillary has definately not met the "Change" threshold!  She was who she was before we got here.
Why is Obama ahead in delegates and popular vote? Because his campaign focused on the most undemocratic approach possible. Small state caucases. It's soooo Karl Rove. Even with Michigan and Florida not counted it's a dead heat. Throw those states in and its over for Barack.

He and his advisors haven't got a clue. I guess it's because they are too busy chasing butterflies and rainbows...........
The Obama supporters really need to get over themselves.

People who don't support Obama and don't like Obama are sick and tired of Obama and his supporters fawning all over themselves.

It just goes to show how pathetic Obama and his brainless supporters are.

Obama supporters can't think for themselves, would drink sand in the desert if you told them it was water, and are just like the weak minded individuals that belong to all of the cult religious organizations around the country.

Politically, they think they are on their game, but their comments continue to reflect how intellectually and politically challenged they are.

Obama supporters don't have a clue about how the politics in this country work, but they're about to find out.

Stay Tuned!  See you in November.

Obama WILL NOT BE THE PRESIDENT OF THE UNITED STATES.

So get over it and yourselves.
I disagree that Obama's messages aren't getting across, it all in what you focus on. $4,000 grants to college students in exchange for community service. Lowering healthcare costs by up to $2,500 per household, w/a mandate or children and an option to stay on your parents policy up to 25 yrs old. No income taxes for seniors making under $55,000 annually. No tax breaks for companies sending work overseas, tax breaks for U.S. companies. Renegotiation of NAFTA to ensure fairness for our workers and safety of imported products. Rescinding tax cuts for the wealthy, implementing tax cuts for the middle class. Ending the 12 billion dollar a month war, investing in those funds in our infrastructure. (Pat, Boston, Mass: where the hell have you been?) Stop listening for the next scandal, and maybe you'll hear the true message Obama's overwhelming supporters hear.

It's worse, b/c she tries to make it seem like Obama is being deceitful, when in reality it is her.
Didn't the Canadian government already come out and say that Obama's adviser was NOT imply what she says he was? So is she now calling the Canadian govengment liars?
I'd like to know what the Mom-and-Pop shops and the unions think about Clinton's time on the board of directors of Wal-Mart.  I don't think the union workers will think much of it either.  Hey, didn't NAFTA come after that, and didn't the Wal-Mart owners benefit from it?
Electing our President is one of the most effective ways we have to influence the status quo, not just of government, but of our society -what behavior is acceptable among adults. To me, Hillary represents the overly egoistic, bullying, obfuscating behavior that often passes for the norm in our society and work place. I think our society needs a change.
Hillary is going to far, she think this is owed to her. which is crazy.
I will not vote for her in the general, and alot of people will not either.
she is a danger to herself.
Obama only defends himself from the attacks and points out her policys issues.
she attacks from all sides, if that does not give you a reason.
If she is going to change anything, maybe she should open her tax returns to the public.
go obama
The Clintons are desperate. Geraldine Ferraro, a member of Hilary Clintons Finance Committee and a top fundraiser, making foolish comments to diminish Obamas candidacy. This is a new era and the politics of the old will not work this time.

In OBAMA we TRUST! In any case, the Drudge Report acknowledged that the picture of OBAMA in African attire came from a Clinton campaign regardless of the Clinton campaign's dubious denial. It was part of their kitchen sink strategy. They can lie all they want. We do not trust them. We have never doubted what they could do to win election; Hilary will do and say anything to get elected. I wonder what is holding Sen Hilary Clinton from releasing her tax returns, White House Documents, List of contributors to the Clinton Presidential Library, etc? What is she hiding? America wants to know Accountability and transparency stupid? How about Gov. Eliot Spitzer and his support for Hilary?
George
OMG!!

Barack said...

"There's only so many ways, once the bus has run in the ditch, to get the bus out."

Yes Barack, that's true. But, continually voting to keep the bus, in the ditch, isn't one of them.

Words do "matter" especially for Obama, because there is not "matter" without his words with Obama. No beef, no substance, no conviction, no.....

I'll have to vote for John McCain, if Barack is the at the top of the ticket. McCain has done what Obama's spewing rhetoric, can only "dream" of.

The thought of Hillary running this country terrifies me.  Even though the president is really a face plate and has little authority, she is one of the dirtiest politicians ever.  She would run over Chelsea to get what she wants.  I will vote for whoever runs against her.  And most of her supporters that I have spoken with just want the "free ride" from the government she is promising (that we will be paying, by the way).
I lvoe all the Hillary supporter who continue to call the Obama supporters uneducated when it is a STATISTICAL FACT that Obama has more support from educated people while Clinton tends to get the uneducated "I never finished high school" vote.

But then again, I guess you'd have to be able to understand statistics in order to realize that...
For those of you that claim the Clinton Camo cintacted Canada you should do some research.

Both the Clinton campaign and the Canadian government, deny that a representative from the Clinton campaign met with any representative from Canada.

and

Obama said nobody from his camp had a meeting with the Canada people.ONLY after the AP ousted him he acknowledge it.

double talk express.

CLinton 08
Keep it up, Leona.  Turn off all the voters in PA and elsewhere.

Meanwhile this will help the Obama team register all the students and independents across PA.

Hillary lied about her foreign policy experience, "a wee bit silly" of her.  Hillary continues to lie about the now defunct NAFTA smear.  Hillary infers Rezko is a problem, but Obama has not been linked to or accused of wrongdoing.  Hillary tries to offer the #2 job to the frontrunner after Obama wins the most states, votes, and delegates.  Former Clinton Secretaries of the AF and Navy confirm, Obama is absolutely ready to be CIC, contary to Hillary's vapid claim.  The preceding equation leads to a single conclusion:  Hillary and her followers are in denial.  I understand Hillary's dilemma and I empathize, it's hard to watch your dream wither and die.
