Confessional Friday for Obama

Posted: Friday, March 14, 2008 7:47 PM by Chuck Todd

From NBC's Chuck Todd
The Obama campaign has clearly decided that this Friday afternoon and evening is a bad news dump day. Not only will Obama be making the rounds explaining his denunciation of the Rev. Jeremiah Wright on MSNBC and other outlets tonight, the campaign also announced Wright would no longer be a member of the campaign's African American Religious Leadership Committee.

In addition to trying to put an end to the Wright controvery, Obama also spent time with the ed boards of the Chicago Tribune and Chicago Sun-Times where he detailed his relationship with Tony Rezko.

In an interview with the Tribune, Obama admitted that "Rezko was a more significant fundraiser" in Obama's earlier campaigns than previously known. "Rezko raised as much as $250,000 for the first three offices Obama sought," the senator admitted. More from the Tribune piece: "In an extensive interview that he hoped would quell the lingering controversy over his relationship with Rezko, Obama said that voters concerned about his judgment should view it as 'a mistake in not seeing the potential conflicts of interest.' But he added that voters should also 'see somebody who is not engaged in any wrongdoing . . . and who they can trust.'"

A classic Friday evening bad news dump by the Obama campaign; frankly, as far as timing is concerned, it was probably smart, tactically, to attempt to bury this Rezko admission under the Wright controversy. We'll see if it works.  Clearly the campaign realizes they need to be as transparent as possible if they hope the transparency argument against Clinton regarding her tax returns, earmarks and presidential library records stays valid.

Isn't this what the press was demanding, he took care of it all in one shot...now what is the media going to blast him for...very smart move on his part with more than a month til the next primary, now he can worry about the real issues and there are no more lingering questions for the superdelegates
I'm glad the Obama campaign jumped ahead of this. I think they were a little slow to see the impact but hopefully have learned. Anything that sits will fester. They are campaigning on better government and any missteps have to be dealt with quickly, and without recriminations about the other side being equally bad or worse. Everyone knows that already -some don't care and others went to Obama. To keep them focused, the Obama campaign has to be about moving forward. For first-timers they're doing a brilliant job, but they're not running against first-timers and the learning curve is stratospherically high.

PS-Read the NYT piece on his mother. What a grand gift to him she was.
Obama will NEVER get my vote!! He's only denouncing the Pastor because he has to! You don't attend a church for 20 years if you don't agree with the message that is being taught! The Obama's are a disgrace!
uh huh...the thin veneer of respectability is starting to wear off saint obama.

Father shiftless, mother flaky, sleazy fundraisers, radical religious view, anti american roots at church.

Can the illegitimate kids be far behind?
Good move, smart move
Now that Obama has all his dirty laundry out let's see if Billary will follow.

Yeah right!!

Obama's "dirty laundry" is old news and small potatoes compared to Billary.  I highly doubt she will be releasing ANY of her taxes, White House papers or Clinton library info.   I;m REALLY glad that the Rezko and Wright stuff is coming out AGAIN now.  I guess the first time around wasn't good enough because not many people were paying attention, but this time more people are paying attention, and all these people will realize that BOTH of these "stories" are a whole lot of NOTHING!!!  Obama has done nothing wrong regarding either "story".  So at least now the GOP won't have these LIES to try and throw in the general.

Dealing with these false accusations and silliness only make Obama look even better!!!
Obama, those stories have legs and sticking power. Lets just see if your Teflon armor can keep up or your legs can keep running from stories like these.
Mr. Chuck Todd has obviously blacklisted me from his First Read site.
You win Mr. Todd, it's your site, you have made it very clear...you do have the power.
Maybe I should start my own site critiqueing biased, ego-tripping, arrogant political directors.
I'll miss you Chris and Keith. Maybe one day, you'll both find better jobs and a better boss.
obama is a lot more dirty and scummy than even the average politition. Dirty, dirty, dirty. Racist, racist, racist. No judgement or very poor judgement. In no way can he win the presidency now. May beat Hillary in the primary, but is finished as a politition. Way to go Dems. Vetting is important
Our church is where we form our attitudes about life.  Has everyone forgotten that Michelle Obama said that she was ashamed to be an American.  It is more than a sermon or two. It is about an attitude.
White people cannot say anything sincerely without it being turned into "racists" comments even though they are not.  This preacher damns America and hates rich white people and it will be apologized for and put aside.  This is unthinkable behavior and should not be swept under the rug.  This is serious.  It is not about "catching" someone in something unpopular politically.  It is a dangerous , dangerous situation.  The enthusiasm of the congregation spoke of the impact of such anti-American behavior.
Well, this has come to a suprise ending, I never thought when I joined onto this movement that it would end this way. I am deeply saddened and dissapointed in this ending, but it is what it is.

I hereby reject and renounce my support of Barack Obama. I cannot, without a violation of my own moral character, patriotism, and dedication to my family, cast my vote for a man who has attended for 20 years, a church where a man, was spewing such racial hatred and such inhuman rhetoric. The sermons of Jeremiah Wright have left me with a strong taste of bile in my mouth. I feel betrayed, violated and BAMBOOZLED.

Some of you may say that I cannot hold Senator Obama responsible for the words and actions of such a man. That it is wrong to assume "guilt by association". These arguments, while valid in most cases, are not valid in this case. This is a church where Wright was the guiding light of Obama's search for Christ. This man was the single reason Senator Obama joined this church. He was married by this man, his children were baptized by this man. He has been described as a "sounding board" for Obama's thoughts and actions.

Although I do understand the man's hatred for the white man, I cannot support such hatred and contempt for my country. I am a Marine who served his country with honor and pride and I will not allow this man (Mr. Wright) to denegrate this country. We are all entitled to Freedom of Speech in this great land, but when such words infringe upon anothers rights to live in peace, I feel this right has been violated. This man, Jeremiah Wright stirs that cauldron of racial hatred and discord, pontificates on his pulpit, then attempts to be a man of GOD? God did not teach us such hatred, the truth revealed to Abraham, Moses, Jesus, and Mohammed did not contain such thoughts, and such anger. If he does not like this country so much, he can leave it as far as I am concerned.

I do understand the tragedies, the persuecution and the servitude that was indentured on the African-Americans in this countries history, I do agree that injustices that still remain. But I felt we as a country was starting to live this terrible stain down. I thought for once a new generation of Americans would carry that torch of freedom, with Senator Obama being that torchbearer. I thought that maybe, just maybe, I was allowed to HOPE once again.

But just as generations past, that hope has been snuffed out, that hope has been proven to be false, jaded by just another glimpse of our soiled past.

I will be joining other Republicans and casting my vote for John McCain in the fall.

Well just like back in the day when the brakeman would throw a hobo off the boxcar they generally administered a good beating. I see that Train Obama is no different.
Too bad Keith O. was not in the same room as Obama this evening while he was questioning him.  He could have bent down and kissed his ring.  If this was anyone else he was questioning he would have been badgering him/her.  Could you have been any more obvious in your support of Obama?
It is difficult to imagine a more appropriate response to Rev. Wright than was made by Obama. The situation of Rev. Wright is much like that of Geraldine Ferraro. I do not doubt for a minute that each has redeeming qualities, but when a person's role is not constructive, they should leave.

4000 American service men and women have been killed in Iraq. We are facing a recession. People are without health care. People are loosing their homes. It is past time to get on with the real business at hand, and that begins with an election in November. To do that, we must put aside that which divides us. We must move beyond matters of race, gender and changing the rules of democracy for the convenience of a particular candidate.
Well well,  Another little drop of information from Obama.......by the time the primaries are over we may know another little thing or two that Obama is forced to answer.
So Rezco contributed more money to Obama than Obama first admited to?
What else will come out?
Obama is a liar and a racist.
he nneds to withdraw from the presidential campaign.
Americans are the most overreactive citizens (and I am an American, after all).
They complain of double standards while at the same time they employ double standards. Republicans lash out at Democrats for being hypocrites because of what their candidate said, while they defend theirs. If the conservative who is white says "God hates (or damn) America," the reaction is usually muted; but if the person is of color or of other faith, there is overreaction.
How come you not strongly condemn John Hagee blaming Katrina on the sins of New Orleans? How come you not denounce Pat Robertson blaming not only hurricanes but also the Sept. 11 on America being accepting of gays? Do conservative Republicans preach a culture of intolerance, of hatred, and of double standards?
I am tired of the double standard, of guilt by association, of bigotry, and of ignorance in this righteous nation. All these qualities in some f our nation's people explain help why many countires hate us and why we are dealing with global terrorism (don't forget that bin Laden was once a friend of America as he worked with the CIA during the Afghan struggle against the Soviets).
I knew that you would do the right thing and have Mr. Wright step down because his words, although true, were offensive to some.  And it did not take you threeeeee...days to do it!
Let’s look at guilt by association. The storyline is that somehow Barak Obama must suffer the sins of Reverend Wright. There is an assignment of guilt based on the words and deeds of someone else. Many say it’s politically justified in that one should not be associated with someone else whose values and beliefs are not the same as the mainstream.

Okay, fine. Lets go with that. Lets use extend that logic to all of us. The issue is a religious leader who has said reprehensible things. Now what he has said is offensive to many, crudely presented and hostile in its tenor but…not illegal. That person has a constitutional right to say what he said. That person speaks for a religious institution which represents a religion. That religion happens to be Christian.

Lets look at our common association with religion. Generally speaking, America was founded on religious principals. We have God on our money, in our home and in our communities. The question to be asked is what does our association with religion mean?

The following points are historical fact:

Throughout the ages, wars have been fought, lands conquered, people subjugated, murdered, and oppressed all in the name in the God. Whether you look at the inquisition, Catholic dominated political control of Central Europe, the doctrine of Manifest Destiny that justified the subjugation and genocide directed toward people of color and political difference. The Catholic church has decreed that gays and women are second class citizens, burned heretics at the stake and shuffled child molesters from Parrish to Parrish rather than subjecting them to the full force of the law. The Catholic and other Christian churches sat on the sidelines when Nazis marched into battle wearing belt buckles reading “God is with us” and proceeded to exterminate millions of Jews. The Christian religion stood mute during the era of slavery or in the south, delivered thunderous sermons exhorting slave holders to take up arms and secede from the Union. Those same churches supported segregation and Jim Crow.

Throughout history, religion has played a nefarious role in the directing the course of history and we have been unwavering in our support of our churches. Should we not, using the concept of guilt by association, all be guilty of the sins of the church? Hasn’t our support given legitimacy to the despicable acts of religion’s history?

The Bible tells us, let he who is without sin cast the first stone. Are you, the outraged inquisitors casting the first stone?
Obama is going to have even more serious problems now, after that interview with Kieth tonight. He stated he hadn't known of these statements. That is bull--an out and out lie.  The playing dumb won't work this time.  The pastor himself admitted in an interview long ago that Obama knew he would eventually be forced to separate himself from the man due to these statements...so why lie about them...that just makes it worse.  I was one still on the fence, but this is over the top. Obama needed to strongly disavow those types of statements long before now...long before he was FORCED to.  He should have done it on his own because it would have the right thing to do.  Doing it now just makes him look worse.  His touted "judgement" is being proven to be severely lacking in many instances.  This is going downhill fast, and I just hope it isn't to late to save the democrats from making a huge mistake and nominating him.  The Republicans will use this and other items...like Michelle's anti-american statement to crucify him.  He will never win nationally now.
I am very happy that America is changing for the better.  I understand Mr. Wright's anger because of his experiences.  But it is no longer that bad for blacks in America anymore.  The younger generation of American, as well as free thinking older Americans, are going to make certain that we continue to move forward.
We see you for who you are and what you represent Sen. Obama.
Obama also spent time with the ed boards of the Chicago Tribune and Chicago Sun-Times where he detailed his relationship with Tony Rezko.

In an interview with the Tribune, Obama admitted that "Rezko was a more significant fundraiser" in Obama's earlier campaigns than previously known. "Rezko raised as much as $250,000 for the first three offices Obama sought," the senator admitted.
(This is a "detailed explanation" of Obama's relationship with Rezco???)

Obama seems to forget a lot, and do "boneheaded" thingd and choose strange friends.
I find it difficult to believe that Obama, who is biracial, could have tolerated Rev. Wright's divisive statements.  How could a man with such "good judgement" allow Rev. Wright to preach hate in his presence, let alone return to hear more?  I seriously doubt that Rev. Wright all of the sudden began spewing this nonsense as Obama claims.  Yet Wright was given an "honorary" position in Obama's campaign and even thanked Rev. Wright for helping him to get elected to the Senate.  To read that Obama claims that he never heard Wright make such statements is unbelievable and unlikely.

It is embarassing to see how the parisioners in Obama's church react to such statements as I saw in the various video clips.  They were cheering and laughing as if they fully supported every word that was said.  Are these the people who Obama calls his friends?  Are these people, who like Obama, claim to be Christians? I mean come on...this church gave an award to Louis Farakan.

This is more than guilt by association.  Obama was an active member of this church.  Obama says he was just waiting for Rev. Wright to retire.  What about the 10+ years before that?  Obama knew long ago that Rev. Wright held certain beliefs that contradicted his own.

The question is, why did Obama not find a church better suited to his own beliefs or denounce those of the Rev. Wright earlier?

Obama made the appropriate moves today by both rejecting, denouncing, AND ejecting Wright.

Regarding transparency, the Clintons are FAR behind Obama in this area. They could have released their Tax Returns as well as the First Lady's Logs during the Ferraro Flap. Clearly, they are making NO attempt to level with the American People. Have they ever?
As an American this has really sadden me to see the media continue to try to destory a mans chartcer by what someone else has said. How many times will the public have to view these clips. My 5 year old daughter has alot of quetstion about this campaign and who will be president. I find that I can't allow her to watch the news with me and discuss the debate because mommy has to tell her it has turned into a bad thing, something that is suppose to be educational for all of us has turned into a bad thing because of the media. At this point I feel if the media don't stop we may be facing a civil war instead of a Dem. canadate. I listen to Pat Buchanna tell a young black lady to shout-up. Bill O'Reilly talked about lyuncing Michelle Obama but these things far from few you only here once and no more is said about it. I think the people are staring to say why does this man Barack Obama have to keep telling the media that he did not have any thing to do with Rezko wrong doing and the Rev. Wrights views he does not agree with. I just wish the media would stop the maddness. And most of all stop divding this country for after all united we stand divded we fall!!!!!!!!!!
'
QUESTION:  Did I miss Hillary's release of her Tax Returns & Earmarks ???  After all this is 'confession Friday.'

HONESTY ! This is appreciated - although the minister's opinion and Rezko really has no bearing in defining Barack Obama. Rezko's questioned activities have nothing to do with Barack Obama. That's a fact. It's not like Hillary's Whitewater scandal ...or one of the hundreds other scandals of Clinton backers who are now in prison. Bill Clinton mind you was impeached for lying to a grand jury. He lost his law license for that. REMEMBER ? Bill Clinton pulled a 'Spitzer' ... just with an additional cigar and not in an hotel but in the Oval Office. OVAL OFFICE !!!!
The more I get to know Barry the more he is just like everyone else...only he doesn't have the knowledge and experience to do the job. Voters please don't give the job to McCain by voting for Barry.
Jonathan Alter was on target when he referred to this challenge to Obama to repudiate the Rev. Wright's inflammatory statements as a controversy provoked by anchormen.  Of course, Chris Matthews may also be trying to show that he can attack Obama with as much equanimity as he attacks Hillary.  I love Chris Matthew's show and think he is one of the smartest commentators on TV -- with two exceptions -- anything to do with religion and Catholocism and infidelity to one's wife, which is, of course, a sin in the Catholic mind (Hence, Chris' hatred of Bill Clinton and Hilary, who stood by her man.)

To stir up the U.S. electorate to think Obama is wrong not to repudiate and condemn the Rev. Wright's statements is the worst kind of broadcasting.  The Rev. Wright is right to point out that the U.S. shouldn't be surprised when we are hit in our own back yards. This doesn't mean Wright has no sympathy for the victims of that terrible tragedy, just that U.S. policies created the hatreds that lead to a 9/11. The man has courage to say what he did, and you Chris and Keith Olberman exhibit cowardice in not supporting Wright's right to say what he believes.  Read what that German fellow published in his "ad" today in the New York Times.  The West has a lot of sins on its conscience in the millions we have killed or helped to kill, in the name of religion -- or oil. So let The Rev. Wright perhaps speak the truth, even if in an intemperate fashion.  The great men in our history have always been willing to blaspheme in the name of truth.  So please spare me your Catholic sensibilities (I'm actually not sure Olberman is Catholic).  What are you afraid of when you quote Wright's saying "--- damn the U.S."?  Don't force all of us to be as afraid of judgment day as you are because of Catholic indocrination.  And don't lead the electorate to give religion any place in politics.  Keep what you believe out of your show.

P.S. to Chris Matthews who corrected a commentator's grammar on one recent show.  Participles are preceded by possessives, such as "his going," not "him going" and "their thinking," not "them thinking."  Chris often fails to observe this rule, and we in the audience want sometimes, although privately, to correct him.  My spelling is atrocious, so feel free to correct me.

just another smart move by the obama campign i swear they are one first class act. lets see how long it takes hillary to become transparent or better yet vanish altogether.
As a politician, you encounter and engage with soo many people, some are bound to be rotten. Obama is being honest about this FACT. Don't castrate the man for his honesty when he himself has done nothing wrong. Grow up people.
'a mistake in not seeing the potential conflicts of interest.'  ???

Dude, can I call you, "dude? "  You bought a piece of land from Rezko's wife (I'll honor the charade, by your leave Senator) for over $100,000 when you knew he was hiding his assets from his creditors.  You basically gave him, through his wife (whose name was on the deed), a major influx of cash.  In some places they call that collusion to commit fraud.  In other places they call that money laundering.

What is so completely sad and pathetic is that, despite the overwhelming evidence that has surfaced, in just the last 24 hours, that you are a duplicitous politician, just like the rest, your legion of mindless groupies will just keep staggering behind you like a bunch of drunken zombies muttering, "Hope and change...hope and change...his speeches rock dude..."

If you're going to try this kind of crap, at this late date in the, "Change that you can believe in" Show, then the only way you're going to impress anyone, that still possesses the capacity to reason, is to stand up and shout out to the world from the highest peak, "I am just another lying scumbag who will say anything, and do anything to get elected, and I have no intention of changing anything!"

I promise, you'll feel better Senator.  And at last, I will respect you because you will have at least had the decency to tell us the truth.

As for the so-called, "transparency argument." I would find it hard to push that against Senator Clinton considering Obama has just admitted (without admitting it) that he is a liar liar pants on fire.  Saying what was the truth is now a lie about what was true before I said it was a lie, more than 3 months into the primary season, will only impress the aforementioned zombies.  The rest of us are still going to know he's a fraud.

And in case you haven't heard; we don't really care about the tax returns.  We already know she's loaded.  No one is going to get crucified on earmarks, and if we care so much about the records at Bubba's library we'll go there and camp out in the lobby until they comply with our requests for information.  I know I'm not gassing up the car to take the drive to Arkansas any time soon.

When is Obama going to learn that Clinton is tapped out.  Ken Starr found a stained dress, and a President who liked to get his rocks off.  I'm still waiting for that to be a big deal.  It'll have to get in line behind The Bush Administration, the 2000 election, the Keating Five, Iran-Contra...

Give it a rest.

Good..So Obama is not a Muslim after all.
The late Rev Jerry Falwell and Rev Pat Robertson also said 9-11 was God's way of punishing America  for tolerating Gays and Lesbians. Rev Jerry Falwell also said Gays are worse than dogs and pigs.
Pastor Wright has been removed from the Obama campaign, let's move on.

..I'm in Dallas, TX .. gas is now $3.30 a gal.
Ok, I am probably going to be rapped for this, but...

So what??

Rezko raised more money than we thought, and Wright was a firey preacher 7 years ago, and still is.  Nothing new there.  Meanwhile, thousands of documents, tax info, and other secretive paraphenelia is being held hostage by the Clintons.

Obama has proven his openness and transparency.  Clinton is a big skeleton in the closet.
HRC....watch and see a person with character address issues head on.  Would be nice if you & your cast of characters would do the same.  Barack continues to show his class and leadership.  Now...where are the copies of your tax returns for the last 5-6 years.  Stand up and present your case.

Bob, Chicago
It appears Mr. Obama is just as dirty as most other congress-critters, maybe even more so. So why exactly did Obama stick around with Pastor Wright for all these years, but now all of a sudden he disagrees with much of what he says? It certainly appears that Wright is a Black Seperatest, but only now Obama sees the light? The media should explore just where Obama disagrees, and where Obama agrees, with Wright.
Say whatever that you will about Obama, but it is clear that he is at least a person with more integrity than the average politician. I have not seen McCain or Clinton come clean as much as he is trying to. He released his earmark record, and now this. People should consider his overall record, rather than just the Story of the Week- Pastorgate.
Bad news day for Obama but I think that in the end he came out looking professional and, honest. He quickly handled the situation and answered all questions. He seems to take care of the problems that arise immediately and decisively, unlike Clinton and the subject of Ferraro, tax returns, ear marks, and the library records. They just use classical political double talk and non answers. And I don't think we need any more of that.
The latest poll from Ohio today shows McCain in a very strong position against both Democrats, leading them by 6%: http://www.campaigndiaries.com/2008/03/friday-polls-general-election-polls.html

McCain is starting to enjoy quite an impressing string of polls. Democrats better find a way to counter this fast.
I still don't belive in obama. his campaign one of the kind and can do anything to win a election.  Obama campaign has painted anybody who said against obama had painted them racist eg. bill clinton and his comments "fairly tail" and hillary "johnson comments" Barak himself is divisive and his campaign is very good at it and blame on others being divisive. Very good example is when he goes north where white majority lives he talks about his mom who was white and her contribution and when he goes south where black popluation is he talks about his dad and being a black. so who is divisive. Any body says that in lousiana people voted based on race and it is true, they have been painted racist for saying so. I still feel barak is two face guy. Who says something and do something. No wonder NFTA and foreign policy comments of his sr advisors are the good example of it. Now his relation ship with rezko and his pastor. my god what else ?  His polical life is not even that long. What will happen if he becomes president and what will he do ? i don't belive in this guy. He is a good speaker but not a good karma. well he steals people line use it in his inspirational speeches and don't even give the credit of stealing words to the people he is stealing from. Media is treating him like a jesus christ what a joke. MSNBC and ABCnews now becoming a big joke by not focusing in issue but focusing in his personality and how much inspirational he is.
Putting an end to the controversy?  You don't just brush 20 years and 250k under the rug with a couple of talk show spots.  I haven't heard anything about Obama supporters letting Clinton supporter comments go after she rejected them.  If, as Obama said on Olberman, he does not believe in guilt by association, he should be held to the same standard with regard to his attacks on Clinton.

Hillary 08
As a 66 year old African-American, I realized that I understood what Rev Wright was saying.  I was a freedom rider from the North to the South in the 1960's and saw the hate first hand.  Senator Obama is from a new generation and does not know the hurt and pain felt by my generation.  I now realize that it is time to turn the page in American history and move on.
I can only say to those who question why Senator Obama, stayed with his church.  Remember this is the person that led him to the Lord and goodness of the Saviour.  I now realize that it is time for a new direction for this nation and for the younger generation to lead.
After 20 years of hearing such racist comments every Sunday, he finally decides to distance himself from his pastor. Hmmm, isn't he running on a "better judgment" campaign? He got caught on fire! Mr. Obama is just like any other politician who says only what his audience wants to hear. I HOPE HE DOES THE RIGHT THING AND QUIT! Hearing Pastor Wright's comments made me sick to my stomach. We now can see that blacks are as racists as those they claim to be.
Obama was a new, fresh candidate who promised shnage. More importantly he promised he would unite the country. This is unity? He was a student and supporter of a racist for 20 years and now he admits that Rezko was a significant source of money. I guess the press could no longer protect their golden boy. Does not matter though Obama groupies: Obama could defecate on the flag while pinching a baby the kool aide drinkers sill see it as more of the Obama gospel.
I love how Obama tries so desperately to make HRC out to be the bad guy. She hasn't released tax returns (as far as I'm concerned, its personal information, its her money...) but he finally comes forward to reveal he's more tied to Rezko than though, and that Wright actually held a position on his campaign.
This is so different from Geraldine Ferraro's comments its ridiculous. Ferraro is a surrogate who held no formal role. Wright was actually personally appointed by Obama to hold a role on his campaign. If Obama wants to make this campaign all about judgement, he better explain why on Earth he thought the man who proclaims America caused 9/11 should be on any sort of official role in his campaign.  Great judgement Obama.
I have seen these videos on youtube for at least a month.  Why was this not reported on before now?  Why did Obama speak up on the Rezko matter?  I'm sure it is not because he wanted to, but because this was either going to be reported on, or Obama has gotten word that this was going to be reveladed in the Rezko trial.  MSNBC needs to be more diligent in their research into Obama's background in Illinois.  I would suggest you look at his political god-father Emil Jones, who is also in the Illinois Senate, he has had some news stories done on him.  The voters in the United States should get all the information.
Here we have 2 significant examples of Obama's poor judgement...the very thing he brags about. To be clearer, there is what he calls judgement in his speeches where he has to take no decisive action & then there are these 2 example where that's precisely what he has done. "Bonehead" plays both times and now we discover that he has been deceitful about Rezko, or to be charitiable, hasn't fully disclosed the extent of their relationship. has he now or will there more revelations? Has he revealed all about Wright? Clearly not because this can't be news to him if has a 17 yr relationship w/the man. Would Wright be the one he calls on for spiritual guidance in the White House? After all he has been his pastor. If the citizens of this country chafed about others who have made it to the Oval office, at least they loved this country. This man is a premier hater which is ironic since he is the spiritual advisor for the "Kumbaya candidate"
I will take Sen. Obama at his word; hindsight is 20/20. Who among us cannot look back and see things clearly?
I have voted for Obama, I have given him money, I believe in him. This is the end of him. The irony of this whole pastor thing; the man who brought down Obama, the man who ended the hope of the first black president, the man who ended the chance of bringing people together was not a Republican, not a Clinton(s), nor was it a swift boat ad, it was his pastor. No white, Jewish, Latino, Asian will vote for him in the general. Obama is going to get routed in Penn and may lose the rest of the primaries. I guess it was a fairy tale and America just woke up. Rev. Wright, you have set back civil rights for many years to come. This is not would MLK dreamed of. Obama, you may have to worry about winning back your senate seat. What a shame. The ironic thing, HE IS Half white, raised by a white mother, white grandparents. He is white in every way but his skin color. So what does he do to offset this, he joins this "church" that preaches hate and black power. when will we forgive and forget this race issue. Obama you had a chance to unite but you chose to join a church that preached division. Irony suck
