Campaigns respond to no-vote in Fla.

Posted: Monday, March 17, 2008 7:23 PM by Chuck Todd

From the Obama campaign: "“We hope that all parties can agree on a fair seating of the Florida delegates so that Florida can participate in the Democratic Convention, and we look forward to working with the Florida Democratic Party and competing vigorously in the state so that Barack Obama can put Florida back into the Democratic column in November.”

From the Clinton campaign: “Today’s announcement brings us no closer to counting the votes of the nearly 1.7 million people who voted in January.  We hope the Obama campaign shares our belief that Florida’s voters must be counted and cannot be disenfranchised.”

Why are we making all this so difficult. This is simple. Seat them and split the delegates 50/50. This race is over anyway. There is absolutley no way that Hillary can catch Obama, period. And there are enough superdelegates who do not like or who do not trust the Clintons to overturn Obama's lead in the pledged delegates, period. STOP PANDERING TO HILLARY. Follow the rules, STOP REPORTING like she may be able to catch up to Obama somehow and seat Florida and Michigan splitting the delegates 50/50.

REGARDING OBAMA'S SPEECH. This is a very very smart move by Obama. Giving a speech that the entire proess will cover, a setting of Presidential stature, getting the attention, speaking well, explaining his position, encouraging unity and harmony. He is stealing the limelight away from Hillary and McCain, that's it. What a smart move. He needs to hit a home run you say. LOL, that's bull. Watch tonight. All the pundits and media will say Obama gave a wonderful speech. Some will even say he hit a home run even if he dosn't. Although he will be sincere and serious he also knows that this oppotunity will help him to glide right into this nomination. He has you guys in the press eating out of his hand. Watch and see. I love it. Go Obama.
ALL FLORIDA DELEGATES "MUST" BE SEATED AT THE NATIONAL CONVENTION: The United States Constitution 14th. Amendment: No states shall deny to any person within it's jurisdiction the equal protection of the law.
PUH-LEASE Billary! You've forgotten what you said earlier that the votes don't matter in either FL or MI and NOW that you are losing the math contest, you are trying to put it on Obama? Did HE or the DNC make the rules that each state voolated? Did you AGREE to abide by the rules? Obama didn't disenfrnchise anyone? And what do you say to those who DIDN'T vote because they knew it wouldn't count? Are you upset about that too? Never talked about that , hump. PUH-LEASE!
I'm am so fed up & sick and tired of what comes out of Hillary Clinton's mouth that I wouldn't believe her if her tongue came notorized!

Women for Obama 08!!

Ps: Any cannot WAIT to hear his speech today!
Florida and Michigan leaders knew the consequences of their disobedience and now everyone is distancing from this reality  - blaming each and everyone.  With respect to HRC & Obama  - you both signed on 7 this is the outcome.  If the DNC "caves"  - then please do not insist on any rules at the next election--let the states do what they do!!  has anyone really consider what impact a "change"  would have on the states that chose to abide by the rules??
Play it again, Do you not understand anything here? The state had and paid for a vote. The democratic party chose not to acknowledge the vote. Democrat candidates chose not to campaign there to punish the state's Democrat party for not falling in line.
Republicans had no part in any of this. It is a democrat party planned disenfranchisement. Both Obama and Hillary backed the DNC is doing it and now because it is a close race are acting like the state did something wrong and want the state to pick up the tab for DNC stupidity.  You should educate yourself before you say such rediculous things.
Obama's speech:  Once he has given the "speech of his political life"  - let us move on.  Obama supporters will either accept or reject.  HRC's supporters will never change their vote  - let us hope they will stay off the airways with their known race baiting and/or criticsm.  As to the unknowns/uncommitted  - again accept or reject & move on.  As to OBAMA  - do it once & move on  - do not let the press, the haters; the hidden agendanites  - keep you on the defense.  Say believe; accept or reject  - but i am on message  - and let the chips fall where they may  - you cannot win the negative, repetitive battle on this!!!
this is ridiculous!

are people NAIVE enough to think that Hillary would give Florida so much as a second glance if she were in the lead? PLEASE! Let's be serious for a moment. She had DISMISSED the state previously.

It looks like Michigan is going to have a revote, which is fine, but if the DNC tries seating the delegates AS IS at the convenetion, they are setting themselves up for DISASTER in November...
I am a life time Floridian and if you think you can control your goverment you are sadly mistaken. I think we should be able to revote and our vote count, after all is this not America.
People need to keep in mind that it was the Florida REPUBLICAN governor and legislature that voted to move up the state primary. NOT the Democrats and NOT the Clinton's. I'm so disgusted with the media and their misrepresentations and embarrassing love affair with Senator Obama.
