Bill touts Hillary's electability

Posted: Wednesday, March 19, 2008 2:51 PM by Mark Murray

From NBC/NJ's Mike Memoli
BETHLEHEM, PA -- Bill Clinton told voters in Northeastern Pennsylvania today that his wife is the only Democratic candidate "who can stack up against Sen. McCain on the national security issues," and that a victory in this state could pave the way to her winning the nomination.

Also, on the anniversary of the start of the Iraq war, he also faced off with a heckler who claimed he had "gutted" the military as president.

Clinton was actually talking about an area where he said his wife is more conservative than President Bush -- the budget -- and he cited his own policies in his Administration. “It is true that when I was president we had four surpluses in a row for the first time in 70 years,” he said.

At that point, a man in the back of the room began shouting out at the former president, saying he “gutted the military” in office, and “showed disgust for the military. The crowd quickly drowned him out with boos, as Clinton offered a tongue-in-cheek rejoinder.

“Yeah, I gutted the military,” he said. “That’s why two former chairmen of the joint chiefs of staff are for Hillary. That’s why 34 generals and admirals are for Hillary.” Turning serious, he continued: “In every respect, military readiness was greater when I left office than it is today. The Republicans gutted the military.”

And before returning to fiscal issues, he offered a clue that he’s seen this kind of feedback before from a crowd. “You know, whenever you find somebody screaming it’s normally because they don’t have the facts on their side,” he said.

Clinton did tout his wife’s readiness to be commander-in-chief, and said she has “credibility” when she calls for removing troops “because of the enormous support she has in the military.” He said currently, the United States is “not doing them any favors” in Iraq by promising an unending commitment.

“If we do what Senator McCain says, and tell them we’re prepared to stay 100 years, than 99 years from now our great-great-grandchildren will be reading newspaper stories about how we sure wish the Iraqis would figure out how to split that oil money,” he said. “No one wants Iraq to fail. But the United States has done more than what we hired on to do, and it is time to bring our people home. That’s her position.”

Clinton also said that Hillary “asks me to talk about” ensuring that when troops do return, the country lives up to the “staggering future of responsibility to our veterans.” “She will never stand by and let us make the hideous mistake we made after Vietnam, and confuse an unpopular war with our moral obligation to the people who serve,” he said. “If you want somebody that will take care of America’s veterans, she’s the best bet for you as president of the United States.”

As he started a tour of cities in Northeastern Pennsylvania, Clinton laid out the stakes in the race, saying Pennsylvania will be key in turning things in Hillary’s favor. “The bottom line is this -- if you will give her a big victory here, she will roll through these last states. She will have more popular votes. She will be the nominee of the Democratic Party, and she will get elected president of the United States,” he said.

Ending his speech, he also touted her electability again. “She’s the only one who can stack up against Sen. McCain on the national security issues, and clearly show why the Republican economics will not work and we don’t need four more years of it,” he said. “And if you look at, I think among the states that President Bush carried twice, I believe she will carry Florida, West Virginia, Arkansas, and Ohio. That’s more than enough to win... I’m just telling you, she can win this race and we don’t want to go to all the trouble and have all these people coming into this democratic process, all this excitement, and everything, and not win. We have got to win in November.”

*** UPDATE *** RNC spokesman Alex Conant responds to Bill Clinton: “Hillary Clinton will withdraw troops from Iraq irrespective of conditions on the ground and the progress our men and women in uniform have made.  Her prescription would result in al Qaeda claiming victory in the War on Terror and cede Iraq to extremists who would try and use it as a base of operation to launch attacks.  Senator Clinton shifts on Iraq and inability to articulate a consistent and straightforward position seriously put into question her credibility to deal with the issue.”

Why the Clinton Campaign is like the Bush Administration:
The Clinton campaign uses the same PR playbook as Karl Rove and the Bush Administration.  In both cases, they have been able to dupe America into believing their message without having any interference from the facts.  What were the results of the concerted PR efforts and how did they work?

3 years after the war in Iraq, 60% of Americans still thought Saddam had weapons of mass destruction and links to Al Qaeda, despite the Pentagon’s OWN report saying it wasn’t so.

1 year after Hillary Clinton announced her run for Presidency, much of the Democratic Party and most of the mainstream media credit her with being the “experience” candidate.  Tet, when the facts are exposed, this claim is as unsubstantiated as the Bush Administration’s claims about Iraq.   By her own account, SCHIP is her biggest accomplishment.  Yet, she deserves little to no credit for the drafting and passage of this important legislation.  Rather, two Senators (Kennedy & Hatch) were the ones who got it through Congress, often DESPITE the White House’s opposition.  On foreign policy, the Irish laugh when she claims credit for peace in Northern Ireland and the Bosnians scratch their head regarding her claims there.  What she’s left with is an articulate and impassioned speech for women’s rights in Beijing in 1995.  Admirable, yes.  A basis for claiming “experience” in foreign policy?  Hardly.

So, why do people buy it?  Because of a simple but effective PR plan that both Clinton and Karl have deployed.  Here’s the plan:  Step 1: Carpetbomb your message into every corner of the media market.  Step 2: If the facts are inconvenient, just yell your message louder.  Step 3: Have every one of your surrogates spout the same talking points.  Step 4:  No matter what question an interviewer asks you (and your surrogates), make SURE you (and they) get in the 2 or 3 soundbites you’ve decided to flog that month.  Step 5:  Repeat, repeat, repeat.  Step 6:  If anyone questions you on the validity of your claims, ATTACK them as being “unpatriotic” (in the case of Bush) or “sexist” or “media biased” (in the case of Clinton).  After awhile, people will start to believe what they hear regardless of its truth because they think, “yeah, I’ve heard that a number of times before.  It MUST be true.”  Step 7: If at some point, journalists come back and question you on the topic once they realize what’s happened, see Step 6 (attack, attack, attack).  Eventually, you’ll have created your own Conventional Wisdom without having to worry about the facts.

We love you Bill and Hillary. We need you in the White House again. You and only you two can stave off the attacks from the extreme right. Go HILLARY!!BO stinks! He must step down!!
Hillary is a point ahead in N Carolina now. She leads in Pennsylvania by 15 points. The other states will follow. The Obama balloon has finally burst. The truth is out. He is a racist and can't win.
My history is perhaps a little vague here, but wasn't Joseph Kennedy hated in this country and around the world when he was fired as the Ambassador of England because he didn't want to shake things up with Nazi Germany?

Believe it or not, JFK was able to overcome this. What made people back then different from what we're seeing today?

I'll tell you - people today are uninformed, more ignorant - despite better educations than people back then.

Dumbing down of America has succeeded.

Half the people in this country aren't happy unless they hate someone.
Get real, Bill. She came into this campaign last year with negatives at 49, and in the 12-or-so months since she's pushed them up to 53. She's the poster child of unelectability.
Yeah, she can win this race unless you count all her negatives.  She started with extremely high negatives and they have only gotten more so with all the Clintons' shenanigans.

National security, what a joke...she is clearly less experienced than McCain and she doesn't bring anything additional to the table like Barack (unless you count the secrecy and scandals that she is likely to bring).

Economics, she is not very different from Barack on this issues...I support Dem. economics over McCain's lack of knowledge but its still not a clear victory for her (versus McCain) because of her high negatives.

She isn't getting the cross-over votes that McCain is likely to get and that Barack has been getting all along.

Bill Clinton, do ya trust him...he will say or do anything to get his wife elected.  Maybe he's willing to do the Good Husband thing now and that's fine.  But I don't believe him on the politics.  He is the ultimate partisan.

Obama 08
Over 90% of African Americans voted for Obama.
With white Americans it is pretty much split between Obama and hillary. Who is voting race instead of issues here?
Absolutely right. I hope the haters won't try and spin this in bad light. Dems need to win. Electability in November should be the main criteria for nominating a candidate.
Carrying crucial dem states as well as swing states are the key to getting it done!
Did anyone see this report on the Clinton schedule?

http://www.abcnews.go.com/Blotter/story?id=4482242&page=1
Great job Bill-  Keep going we will win this thing.  Now that Obama is on his last leg-  I have a feeling it is going to be so lopsided a loss for obama.  probably 30 points.
And before returning to fiscal issues, he offered a clue that he’s seen this kind of feedback before from a crowd. “You know, whenever you find somebody screaming it’s normally because they don’t have the facts on their side,” he said.

Funny.

Who wants to wager on the first, second, third posts are going to be supporters of in this topic, with all capital letters, aka shouting?

Yep. Hillary supporters, without those darn facts to support them.

Darn facts, always getting in the way.
As far as the heckler not having facts on his side, ask Bill Clinton how many stateside U.S. bases he closed?  Ask Bill Clinton how he dropped enlisted military numbers by the thousands.  You see, when my husband retired the plan was to reduce enlisted military to minimal and have most enlisted stationed overseas; and here in the U.S. the duty would fall to the Guards and Reserves.  Ask those voters who lost their military bases, in some cases their main source of income, how their economy went to pot when the base closed abruptly.  It never fails to amuse me how former presidents have "selective memory".  I suppose if you asked Bill about his impeachment, he'd deny that too.  Four more years of scandal...no thank you!  Eight years of Barack Obama would be a wise choice.
Hillary and Bill are set to sacrifice the Democratic party on the alter of their power hungry egos.

Good luck to Hillary - getting elected after all the underhanded cheating in which she has engaged.
Hmmm....Bill Clinton must be an idiot. I mean, I know he isn't, but one would think that all of those 'new, excited people' brought into the process are not done so by Hillary.  Obama is the one who's doing it and if the nomination gets stolen from him, all of those people will probably never vote again.  I know that if she steals it, I will gladly give my vote to Nader, I mean i agree with him far more than Obama, it's jsut that Obama actually has a shot. But if it comes down to it, a vote for Nader is better than a vote for the corporate party.
Chuck, there is a problem with his statements. For one,  thought his adminsitration had the opportunity to stop al Qaida and strengthen the military so that Sept. 11 won't have happened. There was a report that intelligence reprots showed imminent threat, yet Bill didlittle during his presidency to secure the nation and instead mostly spend battling Republicans in the waning years of his administration.
Also, I don't understand what you meant by "more conservative". If that is the budget issue, then I would question how could Hillary have badly mismanaged her campaign's money. I also wonder why she raked up in more than $300 million in earmarks for NY (if I recall the figure correctly)?
Bill is a typical lying politcian who is interested in advancing his own or his wife's ambitions.
Students at UNF,
Why in the world do you love Bill and Hillary?  Bill is an adulterer, many times over, and a perjurer.  As is coming out in the campaign now, Hillary is grossly exaggerating her experience in foreign policy matters.  He is the one who has foreign policy experience and he had none when he came into office.  Hillary was busy visiting foreign countries, sent by her husband.  I wonder if that is because he didn't want her around so that he could indulge in other activities?  No, nothing, absolutely nothing would make me pull a lever for the HillBilly, even though I am a life long democrat, a 54 year old, white women from New York.

Yeah and FL and MI will vote for McWAR, who is going to stop that, not OBAMA.  The toast is burning!
Dante, what you posted is just absurd. Why is that important in this race really? This is what makes me sick of some of you Obama supporters.

If anything I give her credit for overcoming that difficult time in their lives. Grow up. Even Bill Maher - a staunch supporter of Obama (one of the more reasonable one's) commend her for forgiving him.
He further notes that those who hate this woman really has problems within themselves.

Now try to focus on issues here. We're talking electability and readiness for the Presidency.
I'd go with someone who is mature, sensible, smart, intelligent, knows the issues by heart, patriotic and FOCUSED.
I've always thought the Clintons were the worst.
If I ever considered the Obama Trauma for election I don't now. I don't trust him or anyone around him including his wreckless pastor AND wife. I even remember Obama saying he "needs" people around him to succeed. We now know the type of people. McCain,
in my opinion, is almost not electable. The field for president is slim. I'm getting to the point where
I will vote for the best of the worst. What else is there to do?
We have the first black man that has a real chance of being our next President.
The way white America is going after him is to attack his church.
ATTACK HIS CHURCH.
As a white woman in Michigan I won't take this lying down.
I will fight for my country.
I will fight for Obama

Still waiting for those tax records...
Bill, when you're right, you're right. That's why we LOVE you!

We LOVE Hillary too! She'll be a great President. Her qualifications, experience, stamina, intelligence and political skills are unmatched.

It's time for the unelectable Obama to get out of the race.

GAME OVER.

Hillary won.

Obama made a fatal mistake yesterday in defiantly refusing to completely disassociating himself from the toxic "pastor" "mentor" "close friend, like family" Jeremiah Wright, an avowed racist, anti-white, anti-semitic, anti-American, pro-Louis Farakhan, black supremecy, Nation of Islam supporter who believes that the U.S. Govt "created Aids to kill black people". WOW.

WHY does Barack Obama call this man his "mentor"?

Why does Barack Obama subject his two young children to this anti-white, anti-American trash talk in a "church"??? Obama and his daughters are part white.

It's disgusting and calls into serious question the character and judgment of Barack Obama.

The Obamarama is OVER. Hopefully, the Obama loving media will get the memo from the people!
Bill Clinton one of the nations best President knows what he is talking about. Hillary will make the best president for our country. If for no other reason she has his knowledge to tap. Yet I feel at this point in time she would be even better than him. We learn from experience not from wishing things better. Please voters look at the records.....she is the one.
Clinton will do whatever it takes to steal this nomination.  Changing the rules in the middle of the game is indeed cheating.  For those of you who may have been asleep at the wheel, she already gamed Puerto Rico.  I think First Read may have run a very brief article on Puerto Rico some time ago (please correct me if I'm wrong).  Anyways, Puerto Rico was originally a caucus.  Hillary saw that she was losing caucus states because of her lack of a plan for post Feb. 5th so she dialed in a few favors to Puerto Rico during THIS primary.  They have submitted to her will and changed to a primary and even moved their date forward.  Now use your brains and figure out why they moved their date forward.  Hillary's planned on having a do-over in MI and FL ever since she was losing.  For anyone who didn't know these facts about Puerto Rico, please look it up.

Also, I have just started to look at some of her First Lady schedule.  Exactly what I thought, a bunch of teaparties and photo-ops.  The Party needs to show some leadership and send her back to NY where maybe she'll actually try to bring those 200,000+ jobs to her state that she previously lied about.

Sharon Stone (Sent Wednesday, March 19, 2008 3:03 PM)

Before South Carolina, the black vote was evenly split, and in some polls, it even went to Hillary by quite large margins...

But in South Carolina, Bill Clinton stumbled a little, and made some statements that were widely viewed as disparaging and mean.

THAT is when all the polls of blacks flipped to Obama.

And, I mean, this argument has zero implications anyway, if you extend it to other demographic groups.  Hillary Clinton has VERY much more support among women over 50 than Obama.  Are you going to stick by your argument's logic and claim that they are being sexist?

The problem with Bill's argument, is that we SHOULDN'T try to go toe to toe with McCain on national security experience.  Clinton may claim she has more than Obama (she's made horrible national security decisions despite this 'experience'), but she absolutely cannot claim that she trumps McCain's national security experience.  He's been around a LOT longer on the decision-making front, he actually fought in wars, etc etc.

You don't go toe-to-toe with a professional boxer if you're an amateur boxer.  Your only chance is to learn a little kickboxing and go for a roundhouse.  Obama's the kickboxer in this match.  He doesn't have the usual boxing-only experience Hillary and McCain have.  He's got the roundhouse, the judgment, to knock out McCain.
“It is true that when I was president we had four surpluses in a row for the first time in 70 years,” he said.

But you were in office for 8 years Bill.  Oh, that's right, it wasn't really you that had anything to do with the economy.  The only reason you had surpluses for the first 4 years was the huge tech boom providing massive tax income over what was expected.  Too bad when that bubble burst you're policies didn't do a damn thing to keep those surpluses going.

I was in college from 90-96, earning one of my degrees in Aerospace Engineering, I watched the industry go from booming in 90/91, to heavy downsizing during 95/96 because you slashed the military budget.  I watched the recruiters for various companies come to our campus in full force in the 90-93 years, to being barely visible in 95/96 when I was about to graduate.
I know Hillary always gets asked the tough questions first. At least she might be glad to see that the Clinton posts on this site today are all left at the top of the page for a much longer time than the Obama and McCain news.
How can anyone not thank President Clinton for what he did for the working class, the poor, the African Americans, for all but the rich? Even the rich did pretty good under him. Yet it's not about him now so why all the nasty things said about him? Maybe Barry saying Regan had it right is fuel. But Regan did not have it right. Hillary does.
I forgot to add, my Republican husband totally thinks the Clinton's gutted the military, he can't stand the Clintons (its one of the few things we agree on in politics and look I haven't disavowed his conservative heart).  Really don't think you'll find too many votes for Hill among that base.
Hillary where the hell are your 2006 tax returns?

And what kind of church or 'cult' you belong to?

http://www.huffingtonpost.com/barbara-ehrenreich/hillarys-nasty-pastorate_b_92361.html

"Hillary's Nasty Pastorate"

I can't wait for Hillary's 'speech' on race and religion... it should be interesting...

Talks of 'Cells' and 'Mother' and 'Family' and 'NAZIs' isn't the type of person I want to embrace. Hillary just lost my vote!
Bill Clinton completely gutted the Military. He felt the Military was no longer needed so he cut funds, that's why when this shameless war started our Military was thin. Bush went into the prisons, high schools and bent the rules to beef up  the Military.

The count of criminals are 2 thus far...
To the poster who blamed 9-11 on Clinton, I have one thing to say....9-11 happend on Bush's watch.  Ever heard, "the buck stops here!"  If we are to cast blame, blame Bush for taking a month vacation only 6 months on the job, a month before 9-11, and at a time the terrorist czar was trying to get him to pay attention to threats. Bush simply didn't care about terrorism...he was too busy trying to shove religious faith based programs down our throats, and school vouchers, because he's a looney tooney born again christian, and his advisors are crazy pentacostalists!
First Read,
Here are the sources I am backing up my previous claims:
1. On the budget/earmark issue:
Hillary secured more than $340 million in earmarks for New York: http://www.huffingtonpost.com/2008/02/15/clinton-earmarks-land-her_n_86890.html
It would be nice if Hillary's supporters do the same rather than posting nonsense like Patty, SD, CA and others.
Ummmm.. I was in the military when President Clinton did indeed "gut" it.  Our readiness was at all time lows and thanks to his cuts in the military we were not even able to deploy all our needed assets into Kosovo due to maintenance problems (not enough military budget to maintain the equipment).  President Clinton truely does not see these things since like his wife it is all about them.  Their power, thier wants and needs.  It is never about the country.  Just listen to former President Clinton and see if he can actually make it through a speech without talking about "his" accomplishments even when he is supposed to be talking about his wife.  You are right about one thing President Clinton, some people don't have the facts on thier side (in case you missed it I am refering to you and your wife).
Bill of Cool Springs...what specific policies did Bill Clinton put in place that lead to the good economic times of the 1990s?

And yes Bill Clinton did shrink the military.  There should be no argument about that.  He did it to balance the federal budget.

I think Bill Clinton needs an aid to read the White House papers that have been released to make sure he doesn't overreach on talking about Hillary's experience...Oops!  Too Late!
Bill it is a pleasure to see a spouse that knows the facts and will speak up for his spouse as well as you do.I hope you and Hillary have a great night when Sir Elton John does your fund raiser. Bill I have to say also it is great to see your love of country and we thank you for all you have given us. A spose with your knowledge and calabar is sure an asset.
It's always odd for those of us who don't know the words to the Obama chant, when we are accused of not having the facts.

FACT: When Bill Clinton left office, 70% of the nation thought he took America in the right direction.  So, first off, if you don't think President Clinton did a good job, you are in the minority. So, you sort of fall right into the Loyal Bushie pile of pigpooh.

Obama makes fun of Clinton's experience because he doesn't have any of his own... er... because "he has good judgement" and "can bring us all togeher."

NO. HE. CAN'T.

FACTS:
~ Chris Rock introduced the first racial, sexist comments, Nov. 30, 2007, at the Apollo theatre, at an Obama fundraiser.
~ Obama implied that Geraldine Ferraro, Bob Kerrey, Bob Johnson, Hillary Clinton, Bill Clinton, and Billy Shaheen are racists and demanded a public apology for their "divisive" remarks.
Obama did not call his own pastor a racist. He did not demand a public apology from his pastor for his own pastor's DIVISIVE remarks.
~ Look at what Jeremiah Wright said from the pulpit of his church about the Clintons. Now, look at what the Clintons said about Jeremiah Wright. That's right -- not a damn thing.
Tell us again who's the "divisive" candidate is in this campaign.

Obama doesn't want to count the votes; he only wants to count the delegates. That tells me everything I know. This old white lady won't be voting for Obama. No way. No how.
The tide is turning back to Hillary now that the Obama spell has been broken by the truth...he and his wife are white and Jewish hating blacks.
There is something odd about Billary getting around the two-term limit in the Constitution with the wife running for Prez after the husband. But I would definitely take Billary over Obama.

Obama expects us to believe that 20 minutes of great oratory and rhetoric speaks more loudly than his 20 years of being preached by Pastor Wright's anti-White and anti-American beliefs.

How stupid does he think the American people are?

One of the pundits said it best: "Barack Obama is not a man who hates -- but he chose to walk with a man who does."
I still don't understand those that do not at least give some credit to Bill Clinton during the years when the economy was good.

Sure, there was the internet bubble, etc... that helped. The key was he was able to handle the economy, the budget well enough to post earnings and surplus for the country. He didn't exactly inherited a good economy from the 1st Bush years.

Look at Bush 2nd, he had surplus to manage in his hands and squandered them all. It shows what good and bad management can do.

You guys can say all you want - sure he is far from perfect but at least he handled the economy well then, we had the respect of the world and we're not suffering the way we are now. And yes, I know everything in his closet - we all do.

To trust another neophyte in the highest office no matter how good a speaker he is is just suicide right now for the United States.
THESE PEOPLE ARE DELUSIONAL!

HILLARY CANNOT ... I REPEAT... CANNOT GO TOE-TO-TOE WITH MCCAIN ON NATIONAL SECURITY.

SHE'S A LIGHT-WEIGHT WHO HAS PADDED HERSELF WITH A FORGED, INFLATED RESUME. ONCE THAT IS STRIPPED OFF, SHE WILL BE BARE AND EMPTY.

REPUBLICANS BROUGHT THIS WRIGHT CONTROVERSY TO HELP NOMINATE THE DEMOCRAT THEY KNOW THEY CAN BEAT. OTHERWISE, THEY WOULD'VE KEPT IT UNTIL THE GENERAL ELECTION. OPEN YOUR EYES, DEMOCRATS !!!!
"Jan, Nashua, NH - So, first off, if you don't think President Clinton did a good job, you are in the minority. So, you sort of fall right into the Loyal Bushie pile of pigpooh."  Jan, I am glad that you know how to take the high road and stick to facts and not resort to name calling.

Can it be possible that some people might actually be able to look at the Clintons and NOT like what they see?  Is it possible, just maybe, that an objective person might look at how Senator Clinton has run her campaign and be repulsed by the divisive nature of it?  Oh, and I don't have the actual numbers but I think your claim that "FACT: When Bill Clinton left office, 70% of the nation thought he took America in the right direction" is a little bit inflated (just as Senator Clinton's resume appears to be).  I am only basing this on the FACT that most Republicans deeply hated President Clinton when he left and I am pretty sure they make up more than 30% of the population.

For the record I don't plan on voting for Senator Obama either, but I am not resorting to distorting the truth (known as a lie) or other measures to justify my not supporting him.  I don't support Senator Obama because of some issues that are near and dear to me.  If you also don't support him then please use reason and real "facts" (as opposed to using rants, name calling and other methods).

THe only way she will get the nomination is by brokering (buying) the election in a back room. But, what the heck, she only needs to win 4 states (Florida, West Virginia, Arkansas and Ohio), right? She doesn't need Texas so she is trying to get them to hold off finalizing their primary results. Plus, she doesn't need any votes from all the primary states that went for Obama (the vast majority). Let's see, just ignore the will of the people because they don't know that I (Hillary) am the most electable.

Bill - all you and Hillary have to do is ask us to trust you. Of course we would, but what does the word 'is' mean?
New Gallup 3-day tracking AFTER SPEECH:
Clinton increases lead to 7 points!

Can you say 'buyer's remose?"

I thought so.  Time to get your beers to cry in ready, Obama kiddies.
I wonder if "the first Black president" is going to have anything to say about Obama's speech yesterday. Shouldn't "the first Black president" have something substantive to say about the topic? Or, was being the "first Black president" important only when it came to getting votes?
Also - did anyone else see that the Clinton first lady schedules show she met for a whopping 10 minutes with president Ganic of Bosnia?  If she could negotiate a settlement that fast we really SHOULD vote for her.  Riiiight.
Well YEAH!! Of course Bill trashed the military. But not as bad as the Bush administration. The Clintons are democrats. We spend all the money on the poor, middle class, disabled, education, enviroment..you know silly things like that(sarcasm).
Jan...I voted for Bill twice, Why can people realize we don't want HIllARY!

You don't have your facts straight...

Obama never called anyone racist, he said their comments were divisive, and ANALYST said they were minimizing Obamas' campaign.

Its amazing you read something on a BLOG, and ASSUME, Obama said it....Pay attention and don't paraphrase te truth!
Bill says: “You know, whenever you find somebody screaming it’s normally because they don’t have the facts on their side.”

As in "REVOTE, REVOTE, REVOTE"
I want an experienced commander-in-chief. In the given candidates(since that's the only choice we have!), McCain and Hillary seem a better fit than Obama.
I do not want someone new and untested making decisions, period. We have all seen Obama's judgement by keeping his association with Rev Wright for over 20 years. Sure, you can spin it anyway you want, Obama is not ready...not ready to lead in these dangerous times!
The truth is that I also was serving in the military and stationed overseas and aboard the USS America's final cruise when Bill was prez and he did "gut" the military.  The Navy had to "cannibalize" parts from other aircraft to get one going.  Morale also was indeed very low.  Sailors left in droves. I can't imagine what happened in the other U.S. armed services.
