Libby disbarred

From NBC's Pete Williams
The Washington, DC local court of appeals today formally disbarred Scooter Libby, Vice President Cheney's former chief of staff.

In a brief order, the court said the local bar association had investigated Libby's conviction and determined the crimes of which he was found guilty, including obstruction of justice and perjury, are crimes of "moral turpitude."

"When a member of the Bar is convicted of an offense involving moral turpitude,
disbarment is mandatory," the court said today.

... and Dick Cheney's response?

                   So.

Why they aren't all in jail is beyond me.
Good thing Bush can't veto the Court of Appeals.
This is Great. He won't be able to make a living defending LIAR'S.Maybe Not the Justice America wanted for him, but this will suffice.
Now Libby and Bill Clinton have something in common.
One by one the Bush administration people will fall. Hopefully, it'll go all the way to the top. Truth always comes out!
Let's not forget that Bill Clinton, a former president, was also disbarred.
I guess the dunce in chief will take of this issue as he leaves office.  Does anyone believe that the dunce in chief and his shoot them in the face sidekick did not have anything to do with the mess sourrounding the outing of the CIA operative?
They should all be in JAIL. people get jailed for much less than that and yet here they are free to do whatever the heck they want. where is the justice and democracy in that? Why are we not equal under the law?
Should have been Cheney, not Libby. Libby you poor patsy...
Why must people bring up Bill Clinton when discussing an article about Scooter Libby? Like Huh? Weren't their lies a million miles apart? Kind of like comparing Martha Stewart to Ken Lay. Stupid.
Yeah, he and Clinton were both disbarred.  Like Clinton, I doubt Libby's future lay in drawing up trust agreements for old people so that their cats will be cared for after they're gone.  As long as there's a wingnut rubber chicken circuit, Libby'll never go hungry.  Wonder how many people wound up dead after Valerie Plame and her CIA cover company were outed?
Where have I heard disbarred before? Clinton and the fans are speechless!!
Clinton lost his law license for five years. Clinton's lies were about his personal life, that didn't endanger our national security. Scooter's lies protected those who did put our national security in jeopardy. He fell on his sword for his mentor, Dick Cheney, so that we would never learn the truth about the Plame matter. In return his sentence was commuted by Bush.
What???? Sean Hannity and his pals told me Scooter didn't do anything wrong!  And they're ALL about "Rule of Law".
Ah, that would be the next installment of Cheney throwing Libby under the bus.  Real stand-up guys those Bush Republicans...

You get what you get when you vote for these people...never voted for Bush, won't vote for Clinton.  You get what you get when you don't vote for character.
While I have always hated that the Ken Starr/Grand Jury meddled in Bill's private life, the fact is, he did lie, and it made many of his supporters, like me, cringe. I've forgiven him but the fact is, a lie to a Federal Grand Jury is serious even if it was about sex. That's why I just really don't want him back in the White House, we just won't hear the end of it from republicans....
... and Dick Cheney's response? So. Why they aren't all in jail is beyond me. Pat, Boston, MA (Sent Thursday, March 20, 2008 11:34 AM):

Pat:

I know. I saw that interview with Cheney and although already knowing the guy is cold-hearted I could not believe my ears when I heard him say "SO" without any hesitation and so blatantly when reminded that the majority of Amercians are agianst the war.

And then he tries to follow-up by stating that an administration can't change positions based on fluctuating opinion polls. I wanted so badly for the reporter to then follow up with the comment, but Mr. Vice President, on this issue the opinions have not fluctauted but have been consistently against this war for quite some time.

Cheney should have been removed from office long ago.

It kind of brings to mind Hillary when she is reminded that the majority of people have to date voted for Obama (delegates and popular vote) yet she obviously continues to think and say "SO".

Kind of makes you wonder about her dosn't it?
Can Bush overturn this? He will probably pardon him before he leaves office. Then what? He can practice law again ?
Now Libby has something in common with Bill Clinton

Both committed perjury

Both were disbarred

Both deserved jail (and in Bill's case, impeachment)

Tow rotten skunks
He can join Bill Clinton now ... is that the only kind of politician we can come up with? Liars, cheaters and criminals - and we are the greatest nation on earth ?

Seriously, we can do better than the Bushies and Clintons!

You are right, one of them was elected to the highest office on the face of the earth, and stared right into the camera and lied to every person on the same planet.

Every single one of us.

As with most scandles, it's not the act, but the cover up that brings you down

You mean "scandals" I'm sure. But as for your argument, yes he lied and he deserves the disgrace that goes with it, but there's difference between lying about betraying your wife and committing treason and people shouldn't marginalize the crimes this administration has committed.
The cry of the Republicans: "But Clinton, but Clinton!"  Clinton's been out of office for nearly 8 years.  Grow up and get over it.
He should be underneath the jail along with his enablers.  Hopefully the next Congress will have the spine to actually send them there.
