McCain in London

Posted: Thursday, March 20, 2008 2:03 PM by Mark Murray

From NBC's Lauren Appelbaum
Continuing their trip through the Middle East and Europe, Sens. McCain, Lieberman, and Graham stopped in London today. At a press conference following a meeting with Prime Minister Gordon Brown, McCain said they discussed climate change, the world's economy, Iran, Iraq, and Afghanistan.

McCain continued to view his foreign policy gaffe in Jordan as simple "misspeak." Asked about Obama's comments yesterday that maybe this is why McCain voted to go to war with a country with no ties to Al Qaeda, McCain dismissed the notion.

"Well, we all misspeak from time to time, and I immediately corrected it," McCain told an international press corps outside No. 10 Downing Street. "Just as Sen. Obama said he was looking forward to meeting the President of Canada, we all misspeak from time to time."

"It's very clear that I have a lot of experience in Iraq and the situation," McCain continued. "It was my eighth visit there. We just move on."

When BBC News asked McCain to speak about critical comments made about him as being the same as Bush on foreign policy, the Arizona senator politely declined to answer. "I won't discuss this other issue because that's not the purpose of our visit. I am here as a member of the Senate Armed Services Committee and looking and discussing those issues concerning our nation's defense and security, with all due respect."

Lieberman, who we noted earlier has turned into McCain's overseas MVP, later interrupted to give his two cents on the issue. "I would just, may I say very briefly as a colleague and long time co-worker and friend, Senator McCain is a consistent and steadfast internationalist on matters both diplomatic and economic, and environmental."

"He is also, as we say in the US, a straight talker," Lieberman continued. "He has never hesitated to disagree with his friends and allies and certainly with those who don't support him when he thinks they are not serving the national interest. And his early advocacy for American leadership on the problem of global warming is probably the best recent examples of that. So he, he does it his way."

McCain "I am visiting the French, oops I mean, Hey Leiberman what are the people in this country called?  ... Oh of course I mean I am visiting the Brits."
I find it so eerie that he is flanked by Joe Lieberman.  Lieberman, a betrayer of his own party in the interest of Israel, is clearly identifying himself as an asset of the Mossad.  Joe Lieberman has been dis-owned by America, his heart is in Israel, and he will betray American interests including spending American blood in his effort to serve his motherland.  This is not a statement of anti-semitism, but rather a revelation of truth.  Joe Lieberman does not serve America, but rather Israel.  John McCain does not serve America, but rather the defense industry.  The very presence of Joe Lieberman is nothing more than blatant antagonism in the eyes of the Arab world.  Mossad, please take your asset home to Israel.  Many of us are sick to death of his obvious preference, even self interest, in serving the nation of Israel.  We did not want Joe Lieberman when he ran with Al Gore, we do NOT want him now, and the Israelis will be spending their own blood to kill the arabs from here on....  We will no more forever be manipulated in the interest of Israel.  Fight your own battles.
Lee Holmes [[he idea that Sunnis and Shia do not cooperate is a matter of historical revisionism]]

For God's sake! The Sunni and Shia are murdering each other in Iraq. There;s a civil war going on there. It's a matter of historical FACT that Sunnis and Shia are blood enemies. As usual, Holmes has to shovel a ton of BS to try and cover up the mess his neo clown warmonger idols get themselves in with their lies and stupidity. Unfortunately all the BS makes the stink emanating from McBomb's campaign more noticeable.
John McCain and CO. go to Baghdad and Jerusalem,
why don't they go to New Orleans to see how some Americans who need help are doing?
Cheney,Bush,McCain,Lieberman they are all the same!
May God help us.

I just read a book called (Broken Govt) that refers to the Supreme Court which has mostly Repub appointed judges who decided back in 2000 to give GWBush the Presidency and all the way back to Nixon, when a law was made by the Senate, The Pres has to sign it but does not have to agree totally with it so the Pres will write some exceptions as to some of the law that he or she does not agree with and specifies that he will not agree to support it if it comes up. That has happened with GWBUSH who agreed to have some prisoners tortured to gain some intelligence> This is not what the Founding Fathers had in mind as they expected the Supreme Court to nullify any such avoidance by any President so the question is - whoever gets elected, will they discontinue this practice if they get elected. The book was written by someone who is not very thrilled with a lot of the Repub Presidents in the past who also sidestepped the Constitution.
Enough of McCain. Enough of Hillary. Look at the exposure of Senator Obama...He should be role model for them. Please talk about Katrina and the sufferings of people. Please talk about some solutions to our current crisis. Show some leadership qualities.....no Iraq, no Iran. If Government talks about human rights abuse...tackle Burmese Govt.remove dictators there and free Ms. Aung san suu kyi, who is confined for 12 long years.
Circus Circussian, Tx. USA
Outlook of US from Middle east, Europe, China,.. Russia is an enemy and this will strengthen when McCain get Bush Position. US can lead the world if elect leader and there is no leader in US except Obama.

That uinque chance to America and World to create a free and friendly international relation is OBAMA
Oh you had to know the rightwingnuts would try and confuse their addle brained followers over the alledged mccain misstatement on al queda and Iran...mccain knew exactly what he was saying and that it was false when he said it...

The bushleaguers need wars and talk of war to keep the rest of us distracted from their utter incompetence these past few years...they lied about the war and then blew the execution of it...they bungled the katrina aftermath and almost awarded brownie one of those medal of freedoms bush likes to give out to the worse of the worse in his administration...they want to pry and spy on us on the internet, by phone and in our bedrooms to ensure compliance with their religious based neonutcase dogma...
