Money and McCarthy

Here's the latest fundraising e-mail effort in this livewire contest's war of vitriol...

Dear Friend,

Do you think Bill Clinton is like Joe McCarthy?

Of course you don't. Neither do I. But Barack Obama must because this past weekend, his campaign compared President Clinton to Joe McCarthy. Joe McCarthy!

Ever since we won in Ohio and Texas we have been seeing these kinds of personal attacks from the Obama campaign. It's hard to believe that a campaign that talks so much about changing the tenor of our politics would employ these kinds of tactics, but its the kind of thing we are seeing every day from Senator Obama and his campaign.

Here is just a small sample of the words they have used to describe Hillary and her campaign: "disingenuous," "divisive," "untruthful," "dishonest," and much more.

Well I'm not going to stand for it, and neither should you. There's no better way to fight back than to show your support for our campaign in the face of these attacks.

Click here to make a contribution and help us fight the negative attacks.

I appreciate everything you're doing to help Hillary win, and I know she does too. Thank you.

Sincerely,

Terry McAuliffe
Chairman, Hillary Clinton for President

Ironic that I agree with all the terms used to describe the Clinton campaign ...
As President Reagan told President Carter in a debate in 1980, "There you go again!"

Senator Clinton...always the victim.
Didn't Barack win Texas - i.e. he won more delegates?
Don't want to be equated to McCarthy, then don’t go around questioning the patriotism of sitting senators, especialy those of the same party. And quite frankly, I think "Judas" is a tad bit worse than McCarthy, but hey... nice job at tossing out a typical political spin machine load of garbage Clinton camp (not that it's unexpected mind you).
WOW.  I can't believe they sent that out.  Obama didn't even say it.  So then, what about the Clinton campaign calling Obama: "unelectable," "lucky to be black," "unfortunate to be black," and "unpatriotic."

I am shocked that they are serious with their nonsense
Guess what Terry, I agree with every single adjective they've used to describe the Clinton campaign.  I am so ready to turn the page on the Clintons.
Which adjective was wrong in describing Hillary? It has been proven that she has lied about NAFTA, her foreign policy experience her "35" years of experience, and on & on. Her campaign started this negativity when they had lost 12 of 13 contests in Febuary and had to resort the "kitchen sink" strategy. After everything was thrown at him personally, they finally found something to stick by using guilt by association (i.e. Rev. Wright) and it worked for a short time but now the polls are showing her behind nationally again. The campaign did not take Obama seriously when he started running, but when they saw he had momentum, they began using the old politics of division and race. They cannot use sexism because that wouldn't work-he has a fair amount of women supporting him. People are beginning to see that Obama is being double-teamed by the Clintons, which in and of itsself is unfair and as they peruse Wright's speech in depth, they see that Obama can't be held accountable for his views. Hillary has mismanaged her campaign, changed her slogans, lost jobs in New York (200,000), and remains in denial about her chances of ACTUALLY WINNING!!! So, again, what words were misrepresented in describing Hillary Clinton?
Think about it people. Time and time again, Obama refused to go negative when baited by the Clinton camp. Then the Clinton camp outright said they were going with the "kitchen sink" strategy. Obama defends himself and points out the obvious, the media allows Wolffson to say Obama went negative and far too many of you follow Clinton like little puppies. I was a lifelong Republican and am prior military. I would call myself a patriot. I am ashamed at the way the some in the country I fought for refuse to open their eyes and see the real picture. To quote Hillary, "SHAME ON YOU'. I am white and can easily see that neither Barack nor Michelle are unpatriotic. Michelle spoke the truth. Unfortunately, many whites can't handle the truth. I would not fight for you again! Rev. Wright spoke the truth and was quoting a white diplomat with the "chickens coming home to roost" sermon. Many of you have not even listened to it in its entirety but let yourselves be led by other true racist. After being proud of my country and defending it, I am now, for the first time in my adult life, ashamed of my country.
The truth hurts.  I thought HRC used to call this the "fun part".  I guess it's only fun if she's doing the bashing.  This is like a murderer complaining that somebody pushed them.

HRC's campaign strategy:  Divide the party and squeeze the money out of it.
