Clinton goes after McCain, Wright

Posted: Tuesday, March 25, 2008 6:14 PM by Domenico Montanaro

From NBC/NJ’s Athena Jones
GREENSBURG, Pa. -- Hillary Clinton compared her Republican rival McCain to Depression-era President Herbert Hoover in response to his criticism of her proposal to help homeowners facing foreclosures.

She also told reporters Tuesday that had the Rev. Jeremiah Wright been her pastor, she would have left the church and reiterated her explanation for misspeaking about dodging sniper fire in Bosnia.

VIDEO: Hillary Clinton takes questions from reporters during a campaign stop in Pennsylvania.

Clinton has proposed the government help people who are struggling to keep their homes by freezing foreclosures, guaranteeing new loans and possibly acting as a temporary purchaser of mortgages. McCain today warned against this kind of action saying, "I have always been committed to the principle that it is not the duty of government to bail out and reward those who act irresponsibly, whether they are big banks or small borrowers."

Clinton bashed him for those remarks, which were read to her by a reporter.

"It sounds remarkably like Herbert Hoover,” she said, “and I don't think that's good economic policy. You know, we have a framework of regulation. It needs to be updated and modernized. The government has a number of tools at its disposal that are well-suited for just this situation, and I think that inaction has contributed to the problems we face today, and I believe further inaction would exacerbate those problems."

She said that to say the government should not help banks or people would mean a "downward spiral" for the country's economy.

Clinton repeated comments made earlier in an interview with a Pennsylvania newspaper regarding the Rev. Wright, Obama's controversial former pastor.

"Given all we have heard and seen, he would not have been my pastor," Clinton said. "I gave a speech at Rutgers, about a year ago, that was triggered by the Don Imus comments, and I said it was time for standing up for what is right, for saying enough is enough, for urging that we turn a culture of degradation into a culture of empowerment, for saying that, while we, of course, must protect our right to freedom of expression, it should not be used as a license or an excuse to demean and humiliate our fellow citizens."

She then went further, saying, "We don't have a choice when it comes to our relatives. We have a choice when it comes to our pastors and the churches we attend."

Clinton said she was pleased Obama had released his tax returns and called for more disclosure.

"I think that's a good first step,” she said. “Now he should release his records from being in the state senate and any other information that the public and the press need to know from his experience, because I think that, you know, we should continue to make available the information that we have. She added that she plans to release her own returns shortly.

As her aides allowed yesterday, the senator said she had indeed misspoken when it came to dodging sniper fire on arrival for a trip to Bosnia during her husband's presidency, but argued that was not the central issue.

"I did make a mistake in talking about it the last time and recently,” she said, “but look, this is really about what policy experience we have and who's ready to be Commander-In-Chief, and I'm happy to put my experience up against Sen. Obama's any day."

She deflected a question about whether allowing the superdelegates to decide the nominee would mean disenfranchising voters, something she and her campaign have said Obama is doing by not backing re-votes in Florida and Michigan.

Economy speech
The press conference followed a speech that focused on Clinton's proposals to encourage families to save for retirement and to strengthen Social Security, an address possibly best categorized as Iowa redux.

With about a month to go before the primary, the senator is making her case to Pennsylvanians by laying out much of the platform she first proposed during the long run up to the Iowa caucuses, albeit relating it to voters in the Keystone State. The addresses today and yesterday in Philadelphia on the mortgage crisis are part of Clinton's efforts to show she is best prepared to manage the American economy.

In Greensburg, she hit McCain for his support of President Bush's goal of privatizing Social Security.

"When I am president, privatizing Social Security will be completely out of the question," Clinton said to applause. "That's another big difference between Sen. McCain and me. Sen. McCain said something stunning the other day. He pledged to continue President Bush's attempts to privatize Social Security. He said, and I quote, "As part of Social Security reform, I believe that private savings accounts are a part of it, along the lines that Pres. Bush proposed." Now Sen. McCain has already promised to continue Bush's failed Iraq policy and to make permanent his tax breaks for the wealthy few, now he's taking up President Bush's assault on Social Security. So in a nutshell, that's John McCain's plan for America: four more years of the same."

She went on to say she could not understand how McCain could find the money to keep troops in Iraq for 100 more years and give tax cuts to the wealthy, while urging people to gamble on the stock market with their Social Security savings. "You don't need to look any further than Bear Stearns and Wall St. lately to know that our workers and seniors simply can't afford the Bush-McCain privatization scheme," she said.

Clinton also had a message for the media, ending her speech with a pointed remark about allowing the remaining states to have a part in the nomination process. "I know there are some in Washington and there are some in the media who want this race to be over," she said to shouts of protest from the crowd. "There are some who seem to think we don't need to hear the voices of people in Pennsylvania or Indiana or North Carolina or Montana or any of the other states that haven't had their chance to vote. Well, I disagree. I think everyone deserves to be heard."

The senator noted that 10 contests remained and there were millions of people left to vote and said to wild applause "with Pennsylvania's help, I believe I will be the Democratic nominee."

For the second day in a row, Clinton talked about Iraq at the top of her speech. "Today we read yet another report that Pres. Bush is planning to keep as many of our young men and women in Iraq after the surge as before, so by the middle of this summer we'll be right back at square one with 140,000 troops on the ground in Iraq," she said. "That Pres. Bush seems to want to keep as many troops in Iraq after the surge as before and says that doing otherwise would endanger our progress is a clear admission that the surge has failed to accomplish its goals."

Clinton appeared with Gov. Ed Rendell and Westmoreland County Commissioner Thomas Ceraso and had several locals come on stage to talk about their economic struggles during the event.

Hillary stands up against humiliation.......criticizing the choice of pastor Obama made, regardless of the tiny detail that the repulsive sermon was the exeption not the rule........she continues with saying family you don;t choose.....pastor you do.........what about husbands Hillary.....he did humiliate you, the office, the US people......but you did not divorce him did you?
It doesn’t seem as if Hillary learned love, forgiveness and truth telling at her church or is it she just doesn’t choose to practice it.
YOU GO GIRL, TELL THEM LIKE IT IS. hillaryclinton.com
"I did make a mistake in talking about it the last time and recently,” she said, “but look, this is really about what policy experience we have and who's ready to be Commander-In-Chief, and I'm happy to put my experience up against Sen. Obama's any day."

-----------------------------------

A mistake, Senator Clinton?

A mistake is...

...locking your keys in your car.
...leaving a light on.
...burning your toast.
...leaving the milk out on your kitchen counter.

These are all examples of mistakes.  You chose to embellish your trip to Bosnia by claiming you were under sniper fire and then blamed it on sleep deprivation...probably staying up for too many 3 AM phone calls.

I think I'd remember pretty clearly if I ever had anyone shooting at me.

Your foreign policy experience?  Would that be Bosnia (a lie)?  Ireland (a lie)?  China (a lie)?  Iraq (you voted for W's policy)?
Mrs. Clinton says you cannot choose your relatives and she would have left that church.  But you can choose your spouse.  Question: why did you put your political career ahead of your family and not leave a serial philanderer?
I am disgusted with Hillary Clinton.

I once admired her, but that seems long ago.

Shame on her for bringing up the Ret. Rev. Wright. It's only to get attention off her clear lie about her so-called "experience," which her entire campaign is based upon.

Obama is NOT his pastor. He attends that church out of support for the community that he has served so well.  Obama has been honest about this whole thing, and the press -- and now Clinton has made it into an ugly boil upon our nation.  All it serves to do is hand the White House to McCain. Is that her true goal?

Wright, who has made some repulsive remarks, is not running for president.

Hillary, who has blatently lied about the core of her campaign's message, is running for president.

Obama remains honest.

We've had eight horrible years of a dishonest administration. Do we really want more?

Shame on Clinton -- and shame on the media for taking attention off the more important issue: Hillary's experience lies.
This woman will do anything to win. The Bosnia story is just one more example of her dishonesty!!

Enough Hillary. We do not want to live the 90's again. You and Bill shamed the Democratic party long enough

OBAMA 2008
Oh, oh---there goes my wallet!  Let's see:  I saved and scrimped to buy my home, have lived within my means (novel idea I know), drive a 1998 Saturn, You get the idea.  Now comes Billary with a wonderful idea to bail out those who decided to live the "American Dream" of McMansions and didn't seem to think that the bills would come in, whether or not they could be paid.  Well, I am all for paying the bills I have contracted for--not anyone elses.  I don't believe that anyone held a gun to anyone's head and forced them to sign on the dotted line.  Consumer's 101:  don't sign anything with a blank space in it, and for heaven's sake, use a calculator if you can't figure out that on a $30,000/year income you can't afford a $900,000 home.  Sheesh!
Oh, and Hill mis-spoke about her Bosnia experience?  Was she inhaling some of the stuff that Billy-Boy didn't?   What else did she "mis-spoke"?
I agree totally with Hillary . I think th press sould look at Obama and McCain just as thoroughly as they look at Hillary. I'm very disappointed in the press for giving Oboma and McCain so much undeserved good press.

HILLARY STOOD BY BILL AFIER HER HAD SEX WITH A CHILD WHO ARE NOT THAT OLD THEN THEIR DAUHGTER SHE STILL THERE AND SHAME HER TO THE WORLD AND SHE STILL THERE. SO SHE CANT THROW NO STONE. WHEN THEY NEEDED A PRAY THEY CALL ON THE SAME PASTOR
Okay now she is trying to stop the media from reporting THE NEWS - that she has virtually NO CHANCE OF WINNING.

She can keep campaigning - I don't think anyone has a problem with that - she just can NOT win on her merits.

The problem here, is that she refuses to campaign on the issues - She can NOT tell you why you should vote for her without fabricating some spectacular lie - All she can do is tell you why NOT to vote for Obama's Pastor.

Obama's tax return shows one important thing: he and his wife are ordinary working people like the rest of us.

ORDINARY WORKING PEOPLE.  Are you serious?

I'm not sure what planet you and the rest of the Obamanoids are from but a MILLION dollars a year does not classify anyone as ORDINARY.

But if you are too stupid and don't know your elbow from a hole in the ground, I'll give the facts about Ordinary people.

In 2006, the median annual household income according to the US Census Bureau was determined to be $48,201.00 dollars per year.

The median income per household member (including all working and non-working members above the age of 14) in the year 2006 was $26,036 dollars.

According to the US Census Bureau in 2006, 84.07% of the US population earns less than $100,000 dollars a year.

Now according to you Dee, from Tampa, you consider Obama and his wife to be ordinary working people like the rest of us even though they do not make less than $100,000 dollars a year like the 84.07% of the US population; no they make more, a hell of a lot more.

Therefore, Obama and his wife ARE NOT ORDINARY and people who have to work two and three jobs to keep a roof over their families heads, to pay for electricity and buy Ramen noodles for $.25 cents a pack to feed their families would take offense to people like you and all of the other Obama lovers that seem to think that everyone in this country is running around making $100 grand a year or more and sending their kids to the best PRIVATE schools and to BALLET lessons.

Get real!

You and the rest of the Obama freaks don't have a clue.  You obviously have NO IDEA what it is like to have to go hungry so that your kids can eat the only pack of Ramen noodle by candle light because your electricity was shut off because you needed to pay the rent late so you and your two young children won't end up on the street sleeping in a cardboard refrigerator box because the father ditched the family.

You F*****G Hypocrite, it's people like you and the rest of the sick Obama supporters that make me and a lot of other TRUELY HARD WORKING PEOPLE IN THIS COUNTRY, SICK!
More of the same from the Clintons. I am so fed up with her!

I have decided to vote for Obama. I can’t stand for or vote for a liar.

Obama 08
Hillary Clinton is such a laughable politician. Not only is she willing to makeup completely (and obviously) dishonest statements about her experience as First Lady in Bosnia, but she remains utterly determined to win the White House at whatever the cost, even if it means destroying her own Party. Of course she will join the conservative, right-wing bashers bandwagon in bringing up Rev. Wright again, totally missing the point of Obama's forthright address of the issue.
Incomprehensible.  I simply cannot believe this woman.  If she wins, I will have lost faith in Americans.

RE: Obama Hypocrites

In case you forgot. Hillary Clinton donated what would amount to 5 years of what Sen Obama AND his wife would BOTH make out of her own personal bank account.

$5,000,000

A bank account that became so large on Bill's 8 years in the office? I think not. Something is rotten in the state of Denmark indeed.
Every person in the US should be worried about the SS/Medicare report that came out today.  Medicare runs out of money now and SS in 2017.  (Don't believe the 2041 figure as the "trust fund/lockbox" is spent and that money will have to come out of general tax revenues).  Everybody should ask the 3 candidates what they intend to do now and specifics.  And raising taxes on payroll is irrelevant as that money would just be squandered away unless it is put into something other than treasuries.
Hillary can apologize for her lie about being under fire in Bosnia, but she can't say that her vote to send our troops into Iraq was a mistake. What?

Most Americans, no matter what they’re income, when asked will say that they are middle income or middle class. When polled people who are in the 95th percentile say they are middle income or middle class.

If you were to score in the 95th percentile on, say, an accounting exam, would you tell people that you are in the middle of the pack or the class, no you would not; you would tell everyone that you are in the top of the class?

People who are wealthy do not see themselves as wealthy.  They think that they have it hard.

Yeah I bet the Obama’s were torn up trying to figure out how they were going to pay for their trip to the Virgin Islands.

I know, call Rezko.

For those who wish to have a serious discussion, check out the full sermons before pronouncing judgement.

I definitely do not like some of Wright’s style, and his specific personal bashing and conspiracy theory paranoia is something I have heard before and hope eventually works its way out of black community. Wright and the old guard don’t help in that regard. However, the most offensive sermons regarding 9/11 and GD America have been taken entirely out of context and have little relation to what he was actually trying to say.

And, of course, Hillary is speaking out now, after refusing comment, is to divert attention from her blatant lie, repeated on numerous occasions about her Bosnia trip. It wasn’t a misstatement when you repeat it word for word on multiple occasions over time. That is how the Clintons operate. Instead of answering the question, attack your opponent. The same as the tax return issue. Now, he’s put all of his laundry out there, and she still fights tooth and nail for every release.
You're looking bad Hillary, bags under the eyes, lies out of the mouth.  You need a vacation.  I for one will never vote for a liar.
It sounds nothing like Herbert Hoover. Hillary would have flunked Economics.

For the reality is much differant. Eschewing Keyesian economics laws, which demanded government intervention upon the private sector in the event of recession,in order to ward off depression,[a Bush move criticized by the Democrats],a theory backed by JP Morgan, which as it turned out, just purchased BEAR-STEARNS,the idea as graped by Hoovers embrasure of economist Catchings Theory, was that unequal wealth distribution was the culprit. Redistribute wealth, and the lower-class consumer would have more money to make more purchases causing factories to create more product. Except that such ideas[embraced as always by the political liberal-left,including Hillary Clinton,Barack Obama, but also, even GW Bush],did not foresee confidence loss by big firms making less profit, as consumers,by the 1929-1930 period cash injection by the federal reserve, were hoarding cash rather than spending it. The late Milt Friedman,an economic giant, argued that had Hoover adopted Keyesian theory, the Great Depression may have been avoided,or at worst, muted into a short-term recession. Though too late for Hoover,Catchings further theory held that in economic crisis, government must provide massive jobs,an idea picked up on by FDR,who nevertheless was mainly a Keyesian.
Again, what's her policy record?  She just keeps making these claims without having any support for them.
It's amazing to me that the Clinton supporters mirror the ugly tactics of their candidateS!
Then came the Clintonian rhetoric, it amazes many of us average folk how Hillary desperately grasps at divisive issue in order to obfuscate her BLATANT and PATHETIC fabrications. If you have lied about what can only be termed a life and death situation and her apparently inability to distinguish between reality and fantasy, can we risk a minimum another 4 years of misdirection, misinformation and now MISSPEAK???

It truly makes the Clintons into the egomaniacal couple who want to rule over the United States at the cost of dividing it racially and morally. Jeremiah Wright was INVITED by the Clintons either directly or indirectly and both fall upon their shoulders. They either knew or are ignorant about people they and their staff invite to formal functions and who KNOWS how careless they can be with more serious issues should they make it back.

She should be more than willing to show the American electorate her finances if she is serious of being a leader. I wonder if there will be another incident of misspeak or misfiling…
I wonder why Mr. Obama attends a black church and listens to a man sermonizing to him for 20 years from an afrocentric, anthropocentric, black liberation theology point of view.  By the way, have you ever tried to wrap your brain around that viewpoint? Maybe as a "typical" white person I never can fully appreciate it for what it is. But while I can understand many blacks in this country still harboring their "scars" of oppression, just look at our history, I cannot understand the community that Mr. Obama has empathized with for 20 years, continuing to follow blindly well into the 21st century a black liberation theology that was essentially born during the 50's and 60's.  Why does the TUCC's Reverend Wright, seem to want to just erase and ignore the progress in great leaps and bounds that we've made as a nation in the past 40 years?   And Mr. Obama to this day continues to enable the good Reverend to stay locked in the past, by failing to reject the outdated and community depressing views that the good Reverend espouses.  The message of the black liberationist Reverend Wright today, as evidenced by the clips of sermons we've seen, appears deeply rooted in a very ugly past, in an era of legitimate "victimhood", rather than in hopefulness and encouragement toward the next generations for our future as ONE people in a nation under GOD.  Black liberation theology's center value (as I understand it) and the core of Reverend Wright's sermons is the theme of oppression, plain and simple. Not only is the oppression of blacks the major center of the theology, but it also rejects any area of theology (read Eurocentrist Christian Theology), which attempts to counter or play down this theme.  For instance, in black theology, "salvation is physical liberation from white oppression in this life rather than freedom from the sinful nature and acts of each individual man".  This view leaves little room for the personal introspection and spiritual aspects of salvation and sin present in most Christian (including eurocentric) theology.  Now this is not necessarily a bad thing, but perhaps it is why so many whites find Reverend White's fiery words so disturbing if not quite a bit antagonistic and anti-American. He has failed to move out of the 20th century in his own thinking and he espouses that our great Nation "controlled by rich white people" as a whole is still his personal and black community oppressor.  Many, many whites reject that notion - being lumped together in this century as black oppressors. One only has to look at our history to see not only the truth in that, but must also see the untruth as well, and THAT seems to be where Reverend White fails in his ministry.  Perhaps that is also why many in this country now find Mr. Obama's "hope" and "change" and "turn the page" candidacy so questionable and borderline fraudulent.  Although he gave a great speech about many of the truth's surrounding our race relations in America, what he failed to do was actually live up to his own campaign's themes by outright rejecting the Reverend Wright's failure to "turn the page" on 20 century victim-based,  fight the "oppressor" thinking.  If Mr. Obama wants to be OUR nation's President, ONE NATION UNDER GOD and in justice for ALL, then a definitive dismissal of a clearly outdated and non-unifying viewpoint that is the Black Liberation Theology viewpoint and which permeates the Reverend Wright sermons, should have been Mr. Obama's mission when he gave that very thoughtful and insightful speech last Tuesday - he failed.
She is absolutely incredible. She looks like she is about to pass out, and yet she just keeps blowing out the bombast. She is a die-hard, political machine without a shred of dignity. The jaws of the nation just dropped in total disbelief. She is not in denial. She is in Terminator mode.

Pulling for Obama '08
Senator Clinton, what are you doing?  You said, you misspoke?  This is an interview process with the American people.  You lied to us...I can't trust you.

I support Senator Obama...But if you got the nomination, I would not vote for in the general election.

To Obama Hypocrites:

Do you want to know how many millions and millions and millions and millions and millions the Clinton's make?  That's why she won't release the tax returns.  The big question is where did those millions come from.
LOL @ Obama Hypocrites

I'll take a wild guess as to who you are supporting, the same person you should be directing that rage it her husband who enacted NAFTA sending over 200k good paying jobs overseas it was she who furthered it along by sending an additional 10k to India while she was a Senator. Look up TATA

You don't really think that someone who has 5 million to donate to a campaign has any clue in regards to feeding their family with 25 cent a pack ramen do you. Especially since she was literally broke when her and hubby left the whitehouse and had to borrow money from friends and supporters to by the New York mansion.

Pull your head out and do some real research...
HILLARY IS JUST TRYING TO BRUSH OFF THE TRUTH...SHE IS A COMPULSIVE LIAR AND THINKS THAT AMERICANS ARE IDIOTS. GOBAMA!

Clinton's prayer group was part of the Fellowship (or "the Family"), a network of sex-segregated cells of political, business, and military leaders dedicated to "spiritual war" on behalf of Christ, many of them recruited at the Fellowship's only public event, the annual National Prayer Breakfast. (Aside from the breakfast, the group has "made a fetish of being invisible," former Republican Senator William Armstrong has said.) The Fellowship believes that the elite win power by the will of God, who uses them for his purposes. Its mission is to help the powerful understand their role in God's plan.(...)

The Fellowship's long-term goal is "a leadership led by God-leaders of all levels of society who direct projects as they are led by the spirit." According to the Fellowship's archives, the spirit has in the past led its members in Congress to increase U.S. support for the Duvalier regime in Haiti and the Park dictatorship in South Korea. The Fellowship's God-led men have also included General Suharto of Indonesia; Honduran general and death squad organizer Gustavo Alvarez Martinez; a Deutsche Bank official disgraced by financial ties to Hitler; and dictator Siad Barre of Somalia, plus a list of other generals and dictators.

She lies and gets testy with those calling her on it.
She can't even say she's wrong ( a rare occurrence)
graciously.
SHUT UP HILLARY!!...JUST GO AWAY...
One thing is certain...the woman has back bone and stamina. None of us has walked in her shoes...nor do any of us know what running for president is like...the constant scrutiny of people and press alike...yet so quick to judge.

And to MKD: Neither Clinton nor Obama can win without the Superdelegats...so you are wrong in saying she can not win...and naive enough to believe what the MSM wants you to believe. Try using some common sense. They both need the SD to win...as of right now he needs less...but that doesn't mean he wins. The should the Super D's have a back bone they will go with the strongest candidate...and that my friend is Hillary Clinton.
As an 8-year old girl, I was assaulted by an insane person and almost thrown out of a second-story window in a theatre restroom.   Fifty years later I remember every detail of that horrible event vividly.   Being under enemy fire would have to be similarly memorable.   It would be understandable if Senator Clinton tried to forget something traumatic but how could she remember details of something that did not happen?
Obama hypocrites sounds pissed....  But what you fail to see is that they went through college and professional school. 48k per household couple possibly mean high school graduates only.  the point is stress here is EDUCATION.  Instead of complaining about how bad people have it, STRESS EDUCATION FOR YOUR CHILDREN.  Don't get mad at anyone else for your own faults and where you are stuck, because if an illegal immigrant can come over and start by mowing lawns or doing construction work and through the stress of education on their children have their children go to college and make a better life for themselves.  Stop sounding so pathetic, we know how hard it is to make 100k.
Will someone in the media grow a pair and ask Senator Clinton if she is basing her opinion regarding Rev. Wright based on sound bites or she do due diligence and read of listen to the context surrounding the sound bites.

Knowing Hillary's history regarding cutting corners, I bet she hasn't done her homework on this one.  I have some links I'd be happy to email to her and her staff.

Yet again she has borrowed a page from the Republican playbook - today's lesson, diversion.
Good for you Hillary.  Rev. Wright would not have been my pastor either, and if I was running for the presidency of the USA, I would not be attending a black liberation church either.

Obama is a very arrogant divisive guy.  He know Rev. Wright was a problem and disinvited him from his big announcement to run for the presidency.  Then when the Rev's ranting, inflammatory video segments were aired Obama tried to play the innocent, then read the manipulative speech and then sent out the attack dogs.

Obama's lack of racial understanding has struck a nerve. He is so steeped in Rev. Wright’s ideology that he just soft peddles Rev. Wright’s mantra's. It is a shame that he has compounded racial ignorance with lies and obfuscation.  Obama is a follower not a leader!  :(

Hillary the HOPE of 08!  :)

Scj,  I feel the same way that you do.

I was initially a Hillary supporter, but I absolutely hate what she is doing to our party.    Her politics haven't just become dirty - they have become FILTHY.

I will not vote for her under any circumstances.
What is this nonsense about "misspeaking"..Hillary told and complete "LIE" period!!!
When are you going to report about Hillary's political and religious affiliations.  She should not get a pass!  Be fair in your reporting!

Hillary's religious affiliations.
It takes a big person to admit that they made a mistake. I'm glad that she took responsibility for the error and corrected the record.  All politicians could learn something from admitting their mistakes. It took courage for her to do so and she is still being dogged by Obama and the media. Still she did the right thing even though she is paying a high price for it.  I'm still waiting on Obama to come clean on his 20 year relationship with Rezko and Rev. Wright.
Hillary is obviously a political beast; looking at this primary process as a giant game rather then a serious contest of ideas for changing our future. She will say anything to further her ambitions. I think the super delegates should start taking sides so we can end this early.

Are you listening Supers? We need you to end this now... unless you would prefer McCain???

Hands up if you think she would have dared touch Wright if it weren't for her self-inflicted Bosnia troubles.
The Path to Reality

Re: The continued Clintonista attempt to spin any data point and outright lie to the advantage of their deceitful candidate.

There are some pretty hilarious things happening within the Clinton campaign.  The Clinton campaign strategists have become obsessed with combing thru polls, peeking into trash cans, and rolling around in landfills in an attempt to find any piece of data, any rotten banana peel, and/or any overly soiled shirt to hold up as “evidence” that their candidate is the most qualified to win the Democratic Nomination.  Like a group of starved maggots, their army of bloggers jump upon this “data”, transform themselves into flies, and travel to all points of the internet to cluck like Chicken Little.  “Obama’s sky is falling,” the fools repeatedly chirp.  Yet these strategists and supporters conveniently ignore the primary argument used by many against the Clinton candidacy.  Her “favorable ratings” are staggeringly low.  The recent antics of her campaign have driven these ratings even LOWER.  These numbers have placed a photograph of Hillary Clinton next to the term “cellar dweller.“  But the Clinton campaign’s message to voters is, to paraphrase a famous line from a famous movie, “these aren’t the data points you’re looking for.”

Mr. Penn (and any other Clinton supporter who may have stumbled across the ability to read), to win the contest for the Presidency of the United States the Democratic Party must send a candidate who possesses certain qualities.  None of these qualities are to be found in your candidate.  Senator Obama inspires the activists of the Party; your candidate repulses them.  Senator Obama has grown the Democratic Party all over the country; your candidate excites only the dumb, the bigoted, the senile, the illiterate, those who hate men, and those who lack morality.  All of those groups (except the bigots) will vote for a Democrat anyway because they are too stupid or intellectually bound to partisan lines to do anything other that check the Democrat box on the ballot.  Hillary Clinton’s only service has been to let these imbeciles know that there is an election coming up.  Thank you and don’t forget to remind them that the election is in November.  Senator Obama strives to provide transparency and reform to the political process; your candidate continues to hide records that would provide information about her “35 years of experience.”  I’ll have to state why since we cannot expect leaps of intelligence from “strategists and supporters” such as you scumbags.  It is because the more Hillary Clinton campaigns, the more lies she tells.  The more lies she tells, the more the actual facts contradict the lies.  The more her lies are contradicted, the more undesirable she becomes.  The more undesirable she becomes, the more likely her Presidential aspirations will result in shattering the Democratic Party into demographic splinters.

Mr. Penn (and any other Clinton supporter who displays a need to go back to kindergarten), the ascendancy of Hillary Clinton to the Democratic Nomination for the Presidency of the United States would involve a set of improbable events coming to pass.  These events include, but are not limited to, the following; she would need to win all of the remaining contests by margins of 65% to 35%, she would need to persuade Superdelegates to rescue her, pigs would need to transform into fish, she would need to sprout wings and fly thru the air, the Kingdom of Atlantis would need to rise from the ocean, and George Washington would need to crawl out of the grave to give the keynote address at the Democratic Convention.  If these unlikely events were to occur, my concerns about Hillary Clinton would rank a close second to avoiding the Four Horsemen of the Apocalypse.

Mr. Penn (and any other Clinton supporter who has neglected their meds in a need to engage in destructive delusions), instead of chasing unicorns, looking for leprechauns, and shouting a battle cry that is the equivalent of saying “follow the yellow brick road”, please draw your candidate a detailed map of the Road to Reality.  The road begins at the nearest dumpster.   This is where many of Hillary Clinton’s supporters lurk when they are not wandering around the internet spreading lies and distortions.  At the dumpster you will dispose of the whiskey, rum, peanuts and popcorn you have been wasting campaign contributions on.  Have a designated driver take you and the rest of the “strategists” one mile north to the rest stop.  Spend a day sleeping off your drunkenness.  When you awaken, please do the best job possible bathing in the public restroom.  There is a Wal-Mart five miles west.  Purchase whatever supplies you need to write a concession speech.  Call Bill Clinton and tell him to stop lying; if he insists on continuing his “campaign strategy” give him the address of the nearest “gentleman’s club”, “boobie joint”, or Hooters.  This will occupy him for at least a week.  Fly back to Washington, DC.  When you get to Hillary Clinton’s office call a meeting with the “party elite.”  Apologize as often as necessary for having any thoughts regarding the heresy of a 3rd Clinton Presidency rolling around in your dimwitted brains.  Despite the fact that Hillary Clinton’s managerial skills are sufficient only to drive a corner grocery store to bankruptcy (I’ve heard the campaign coffers are empty, AGAIN), beg her colleagues not to ridicule her on a daily basis as she fulfils her duties in the Senate.  This would be a good opportunity for you to cut a deal.  Perhaps she can become Senate Majority Leader.  Throwing Harry Reid under the bus would serve as the perfect reminder of how Clinton allies are “repaid” for their support.  More likely, Hillary Clinton could receive “preferred seating” at the next State of the Union address or maybe an ample supply of candy bars.  Then lead Hillary “four Pinocchios” Clinton to the Senate Floor, where she can give her concession speech.  If at this point you are having trouble thinking of what to write for her, and I wouldn’t be surprised since you and those who support Hillary Clinton clearly suffer from several mental deficiencies, two words will suffice; “WE QUIT!”

Mr. Penn (and any other Clinton supporter who finds themselves hobbled by their moral and intellectual ineptitude), this is the Road to Reality.  Do I think you will take it?  Nope.  Why?  Because you are either stupid or in need of milking Hillary Clinton’s campaign contributors for another paycheck.  I’ve heard that you’ve hired another pollster.  Let me help you with a poll of one; I will not vote for Hillary Clinton, not now, not tomorrow, not ever.  Her unfavorable rating with me is 100%.  Tell James Carville that a Superdelegate who wishes to escape from the Clinton dungeon is not acting “like Judas.”  It merely means that he or she has common sense, a wish to regain their self respect, and are struggling to escape the rank odor of you and your “candidate.”  These qualities may be in short supply in your “War Room” but rest assured that they are qualities possessed by decent human beings everywhere in the country.

You, the Clintons, and their supporters heap more shame upon the Democratic Party with every passing day.  Your lies become more ridiculous, your legacy becomes more worthless, your stupidity becomes more obvious, your exploitation of bigotry becomes more shameful, your voices become more annoying, and your internet scribble becomes more unintelligible with every passing second.  There is no hiding place behind whiny complaints and wishes made while throwing pennies into fountains.  If this were a circus, the bearded lady would be embarrassed to be seen with you, the clowns would be laughing at you, and the elephants would be dumping on you.  But despite your proverbial attempt to put your head in a lion’s mouth and remove it without getting slobber on your faces, this is reality.  Do you hear me you FREAKING FOOLS!?

Quit this farce.  After you do so, take notice of the finger I am holding in front of your face and then go to hell.
Gee "Obama Hypocrites" - why are you so angry?  Is it because both Hillary Clinton and John McCain have tons MORE money that the Obamas?  Yes, they are doing well now. But they didn't grow up privileged. Obama is from a working class family and so is his wife.  He was raised by a single mother and his grandparents. His mom had to get food stamps for a while.  He does not forget where he came from.
