The general election: MA state poll

Posted: Thursday, March 27, 2008 9:24 AM by Domenico Montanaro

After a week of taking a beating over the fact that a poll showed Clinton out-performing Obama against McCain in Mass., the Obama campaign now has its own blue-state electability argument. In a new Quinnipiac Univ. poll in Conn., Obama has a double-digit lead over McCain while Clinton only leads him by 3 points.

As more people see the whole sermons instead of the conveniently edited clips, I think there will be more sympathy for Wright and Obama.  It is obvious after seeing the complete sermons that the 0.2% containing "controversial: Wright rantings were severely overblown.

What we are seeing now is the answer of the American people who are now upset about being hoodwinked into believing something about Obama that simply wasn't true.
Imagine.

Imagine a Hillary Clinton elated by the election of Barack Obama as president, a president who heals the very problems she has long talked about, who heals the multiple dimensions of America's economic crisis and finally brings an end to the tragic war in Iraq.

Did such a person ever exist? Was she a figment of our naive but hopeful imagination? Did she die in January? Is there yet another possibility?

Imagine.
The big state argument holds no water for Clinton. Dems. in those states will vote for Obama if he is the nominee in the general, period. Again, this is just another way for her to try and persuade Superdelegates over to her side.

Like MSNBC/NBC who claim the NBC/WSJ Poll, only of 700 respondents, shows the Wright affair had little effect on Obama but rather was only bad for Clinton.  The other major polls I was on real clear politics show something quite different.  Chris Matthews use to always say one poll didn't matter you have to look at the real clear average, but all of a suddent Matthews believes the NBC/WSJ poll is the most important poll ever taken - NOT.  I bet some research on this QU poll will show likewise.  It's amazing to watch Matthews and his Pro Obama team try to manipulate the news in favor of their candidate.
California too.

There is a PPIC poll out that shows Obama beating McCain 49-40 in California while Clinton barely slips by McCain at 46-43.

After a tough period for Obama(Wright), it appears the polls are leveling in his favor again.  He leads in states won, delegates pledged, popular vote, and now the polls.  What's left besides superdelegates who are also trending Obama?  A concession speech?
Well, a big WOOT! for Connecticut.

And you're not tellling me anything I didn't already know.  CT is a very diverse state (not everyone realizes).  In the midst of affluence, there are some blue collar towns (I live in one).

But most of CT is decisively for Obama even though Clinton clearly has some supporters.  And CT is a blue state she did not win.  So there :)

Obama 08
Here's a REVEALING statement by Clinton spokesman Phil Singer [source is Reuters article:  "Clinton donors warn Pelosi over superdelegates"]:

"Few have done more to build the Democratic Party than Bill and Hillary Clinton.  The last thing they need is a lecture from the Obama campaign."

Substitute the word "lecture" above with the word "win."  Perfect summary of the Clinton campaign mindset.  YOU OWE US!

And big donors are different from lobbyists...how?
Jim Banks (Sent Thursday, March 27, 2008 9:50 AM):

Jim:

The important polls right now are those in North Carolina and Indiana. These states will finally decide this outcome. Forget PA. Obama may lose but he will come out of PA with a pretty good sum of delegates. In North Carolina he is ahead of Hillary by double digits and in Indiana they may likely split. These are the polls to watch. And if they remain as they are now the game is over.

It is way to early to even consider the validity of any polls of a general election nature versus McCain. But I can tell you that people are going to vote in the general election to get us out of the Iraq mess. Therein lies the key to a Dem victory no matter their nominee.
THE MORE HILLARY & BILL KEEP RANTING --- THE LOWER THEY SINK IN THE FAVORABILITY POLLS.
HILLARY SHOULD GO AWAY --- FAR AWAY.
woo hoo!!  Who wants or needs a hysterical woman for our president.  Hilary.. it's you that is unelectable.

This is written by a 58 yr old white woman from California who supports Barack Obama. The only candidate that acts presidential and capable of getting this country out of the mess that we are currently in (A state that Obama will win easily in November).
After seeing and hearing the whole Rev. Wright sermon, I am convinced he did't say anything that wasn't true. I came away with the  understanding that he also has a love our country.

Mass. is just a spot on the map and so left of center it won't matter.
After seeing and hearing the whole Rev. Wright sermon, I am convinced he did't say anything that wasn't true. I came away with the  understanding that he also has a love for our country.
Why can't you Clinton folks accept that the American people prefer Obama? Stop being such sore losers -- we are all democrats. I certainly would not behave this way if Obama was losing fair and square to Clinton.
Oregon too.

The Rasmussen poll out today shows Obama beating McCain 48-42 in Oregon while McCain beats Clinton 46-40.
