Pelosi's 'tension' concern

From NBC's Mike Viqueira
The following is a fundraising appeal sent out today to Democratic supporters from Nancy Pelosi, wherein the speaker expresses concern about the tone of the Democratic presidential contest spilling over and harming House races.

Dear ,
Here's what you and I can't let happen. We can't allow the tension and pressures of a spirited Presidential contest to spill over and harm hard-working Democratic candidates running to strengthen our Democratic majority in the House.

I will do whatever it takes to protect our candidates and make sure their campaigns to drive change forward don't skip a beat. I need you to do the same. Please support our candidates now with a donation to the DCCC before the critical March 31st deadline hits by going to www.dccc.org/deadline.
Throughout the Presidential nominating process, I have been so proud to watch Democrats turn out in record numbers and demonstrate enormous grassroots energy. And soon we will have an exciting presidential nominee who will make our entire party proud.

She or he will lead our energized and united Democratic Party in the larger fight against John McCain, and his plan for 100 more years of war in Iraq. Now is the time to capitalize on the excitement that is sweeping the nation to ensure that our next President has a strong Democratic majority in the House to work with as we undo the damage from President Bush's failed economic policies.

Nancy Pelosi
Speaker of the House of Representatives

Interesting.  Very interesting.

I wonder if this is the Speaker's way of appeasing those deep-pocket donors who wrote the now infamous "letter" asking her to "clarify" her rhetoric.

Interesting.

Great cause.  anyone who passed the Constitution test knows the a majority in congress is how things get done.
she needs to get her hands on Obama's mailing list.
HYPOCRISY

Hillary Rodham Clinton's Texas campaign is challenging the seating of delegates from numerous precincts for Saturday’s Democratic county conventions, particularly in Barack Obama's strongholds.

State Senate District 23, which includes much of southern Dallas County, was a central target of the Clinton campaign.

Just before Wednesday’s deadline to file complaints before the county convention credentials committee, Clinton campaign officials delivered a large packet of challenges.

"There are numerous challenges," said Dallas County District Clerk Gary Fitzsimmons, who is temporary chairman of the District 23 credentials committee. The district went solidly for Mr. Obama in the primary, and there’s a question over whether Mrs. Clinton will reach the 15 percent threshold needed to receive delegates.

The committee meets Thursday night to deal with minor challenges. The rest will be handled on Saturday, the day of the county conventions.

On a conference call Wednesday, Clinton campaign officials said they would not try to influence the county conventions with mass challenges before the credentials committee [...]

"Apparently the promise that the Clinton campaign made less than 24 hours ago not to challenge the seating of delegates at Saturday's district conventions was just another made-up story," [Obama spokesperson Josh] Earnest said. "The Clinton campaign's politically-motivated outrage over disenfranchising voters apparently doesn't extend to the 1.1 million Texans who participated in the precinct conventions earlier this month."
Just made my donation. Speaker Pelosi, thank you for the reminder and for pointing out the BIG picture to the petty Clinton donors.
$100 headed your way Nancy and will put the link on barackobama.com
PELOSI - YES; ... HILLARY - NO........................
Sorry my money will only go to Obama.  I can't trust the DNC
Sounds like Madame Speaker believes in, 'Yes We Can'!

Who said, only the 'Entitled', have a corner on the market when it comes to speaking between the lines? Those who sought to apply pressure on her, will probably regret it.

Pulling for Obama '08
Nancy misses the point.  No amount of 'tension' is going to cause Democratic voters to vote another 4 years of Bush in the guise of John McCain.  Any that do, deserve what they get.

This is a good race and people should be proud of our party, and support it, not trying to sabotage it early for personal gain.
OK, Speaker Pelosi, my piddly $25 to the DCCC today, but to the DNC only after Obama is announced the presumptive nominee and Clinton is out of the race.
Given how much Obama has raised, does the DCCC even need these large fat-cat-looking-for something-in-return donors?
Just sent $50, and sent Pelosi a message explaining that my voice is just as valid as Clinton's 20 "big money" voters because I will actually work at a phone bank and get out votes, which is a far more valuable currency.
