On those North Carolina endorsements

Several Democratic sources familiar with North Carolina politics expressed surprise at today's Wall Street Journal story, saying that -- although several members of the delegation are likely Obama backers -- an en masse endorsement would include nods from several Dems who most expected to stay on the sidelines in the Clinton-Obama race.

A staff member close to one of the superdelegates in question confirms there is no truth to the story.

Per Dan Leistikow, a spokesman for the Obama campaign in North Carolina, "Despite the Wall Street Journal’s optimism, none of them has said told our campaign that they are ready to announce their endorsement of Senator Obama -- so we’ll keep working on it."

One Democrat who supports Obama did say that some elected officials and candidates for office in the state have expressed concern about a prolonged nomination, saying that many believe that a popular election result overturned by superdelegates "would destroy the party.." A mass endorsement by the delegation would send a clear message of party unity, he said.

But as of today, added another source familiar with the story, the idea might have simply been born of one Obama supporter's wishful thinking.

Interesting quote from this article, huh? Oh, but that can't be, no Obamaton would ever say anything untruthful. Yeh, right. Supporters can follow suit because he lies all the time about relationships/associations, his family, his record. Get a grip, folks. Barry is a POLITICAN just like all the rest.

The Supers are peeling towards Obama and away from Hillary.

Is MSNBC going to announce that Senator Obama won Texas? With 90.75% of the delegates awarded from Saturday's county conventions in Texas (the 2nd part of the caucuses from the Texas two-step), Senator Obama holds 56.04% of those delegates, while Senator Clinton holds 43.96% of those delegates.

There is no doubt at this point that Senator Obama will either gain a 7+ (37-30) or 9+ (38-29) from these caucuses. Senator Clinton gained 4 delegates at the primaries. With either 7+ delegates or 9+ delegates, Senator Obama wins the state of Texas. Senator Obama has won the State of Texas. Yes we can, Thank you Texas!!

I'm so sick of this "destroy the party" crap. Everyone is using it as the new buzz phrase, but I haven't heard one pundit or politician elaborate. No one has given a scenario of a destroyed party.

Let's have one of the MSNBC shows bring on some politicians to explain how a destroyed party would manifest.

I didn't read the WSJ's original story so I don't know entirely what it said...but that's disappointing that they would suggest that if its not true.

Oh well, perhaps those endorsements are on there way at some point.

If there is no story, make one up.
First Read knows all about that sort of thing.
If something like this were to have happened involving Hillary's campaign, you'd be accusing her of planting the story.
But because Obama is black, you don't want to be accused of racism, so you let it go.
That's the only reason the Rezko story isn't getting any "print" too.

A mass migration, of supers, to the side of Senator Obama, would cause the Clinton campaign to throw out so many conspiracy theories, even they could'nt spin them fast enough. This is our Party's
Primary season. Let it unfold. Steady as she goes. Barack is being vetted, and it's torturous lenghth is nothing, compared to the hell of a chaotic Convention.

At that time, if Senator Clinton chooses to act in a defiant fashion, The DNC should make swift work of her in the courts. Any of her supporters who have a problem with that, don't understand from where our freedoms hail, or how they are protected.

Despite the fact that further primary elections are to be held weeks away, it sure feels like Obama is quickly wrapping up the nomination.

I feel Hillary Clinton should ride this until the end so that there is no question who the winner is. However, the more she prolongs the inevitable, the less dignified she (and her family) will appear. This may hamstring any political path she may take in the future.

Patience. As soon as North Carolinians finish counting their votes it's very probable Senator Clinton will be endorsing Obama. The democratic party is going to be fine. Old "Bomb Iran" McCain will not stand a chance against Obama. Even in the event of a Hillary win once the party unites, McCain better get a souped up Rascal and get out of the way.

Obama wins Texas..evebn though Clinton received more votes. Oh yeah...the Obama campaign is all about the people...LIES..typical...it's ok for superdelagates to go against their states wishes (Kerry and Kennedy) and bullying at caucuses is about "energy and enthusiasm"...Obama and his fascist fans have killed the democrats chances...and yet they whine about Clinton..

It is nice to speculate about which is the next person to endorse Obama or Clinton. Truth be told, wait until they actually do that so that there isn't this confusion over who has and hasn't.

To respond to someone wondering who would be next to endorse, if Carter on the list endorsed anyone, that would be the kiss of death. Who would want Carter given his latest book and his track record.
