First, how long did you live in New Orleans or Louisiana?


I don’t need to do a little “mroe” research.  The fact that it is my opinion as well as many other present and former New Orleanians and Louisianians that Bill Jefferson is a crook, has absolutely nothing to do with anyone else.

The article is about Bill Jefferson.  Bill Jefferson is the person to whom I was referring and no one else.  I really don’t care one bit that you are a student of history.  The fact that you’re a “Student” means that you don’t know everything and I doubt you know more than I, about politics in New Orleans and Louisiana.  Unless you’ve lived 43 years and have lived the majority of those 43 years in the city of New Orleans and the state of Louisiana and have followed the politics of that city and state on a daily basis as I have, you don’t know the first thing about William “Bill” Jefferson the way I or any local would.  

So you’re attempting to speak of something that you know little about.

Secondly, since I was referring to Bill Jefferson and only Bill Jefferson, you are inferring that I am unaware of the fact that a great many of our elected officials at the local, state and federal levels are inept, corrupt and do anything but, work hard for the very people they represent.  Notice I didn’t say the very people that got them elected.  Not everyone who votes, votes for people like Bill Jefferson.

Prior to leaving the City of New Orleans after my home was flooded as a result of hurricane Katrina, I did vote in the November 2004 election.  I did not however, vote for Bill Jefferson then and I never have.  In November of 2004 I voted for Louisiana State Representative Karen Carter who unfortunately was defeated by Bill Jefferson.

Allen, you are also missing my point.  Again, as a former resident of Bill Jefferson’s Congressional District, having followed the local and state politics of Louisiana for many, many years, and I doubt very seriously that you have, I am totally entitled to my opinion of Bill Jefferson that he is a liar and a crook based on what I, know of Bill Jefferson.  Again, I’m pretty sure that I would know just a tad bit more than you and Ron H. Allen.

Secondly, just because I like many other present and past New Orleanians and Louisianians think that Bill Jefferson is a liar and a crook, doesn’t mean that I think it’s
Ok to violate the Constitutional rights of anyone, nor did I say any such thing.

First of all, not only did the FBI “get a valid warrant,” they got warrants to serve his office at the Capital, his home in D.C. and his home in New Orleans.  Originally at the request of the FBI, the House General Counsel's office had secured copies of the documents and computer files being sought in the bribery investigation from Jefferson's office.  But the House lawyers then refused to turn over the documents to the FBI.
The refusal by the House Counsel led the FBI to seek a search warrant from Judge Thomas Hogan to send agents into Jefferson's Rayburn Building office.  The judge signed the warrants because of a preponderance of evidence that the FBI had on Jefferson like Jefferson on video tape accepting a bribe from an FBI informant, just to give one example.
Bill Jefferson was caught on videotape accepting $100,000 in $100 bills from an FBI informant whose conversations with the lawmaker also were recorded.  The $90,000 found stuffed in his freezer, wrapped in $10,000 packs and concealed in food containers and aluminum foil, was $90,000 of the $100,000 he was videotaped accepting from the FBI informant.



Lastly, to jerry/corpus christi texas:

I will ask you the same question that I asked of Ron H. Allen and Amy Anderson of Eden Prairie.

How long did, you live in New Orleans or Louisiana?

My guess based on your “its the way down there” comment, that you have never lived in the state of Louisiana, or the City of New Orleans.

I find it very interesting that a bunch of people who have never lived a day in their lives in New Orleans or Louisiana can attempt to tell someone who has lived most of their 43 years there, what they are, or are not entitled to think about the very politicians that they have followed very closely for years and whom they voted against.

More over Jerry, I think it is also interesting that you, living in the ass backwards state of Texas that you live in that has a Caucus and a Primary on the same day that is referred to as the electoral “Two-Step,” of which the results are still not known 100% to this very day, nearly a month after the election, has very little room to speak of anyone from the state of Louisiana, past or present.  

Does she have a big announcement?  I heard she might announce she's resigning from the race...

Too bad Jay is lending his air time to her. Maybe we will get to hear more Bosnia stories? Maybe we'll get to hear how she has always supported the MI and FL delegations being seated? Maybe we'll get to hear how John McCain is so qualified to be President? Maybe her husband will do a guest cameo and tell us to chill out?
I just wish she would go away. She will not be the nominee. She can just provide more ammo to the GOP.

We are getting a little too tired of it. It was saturday night live, now jay leno, she assaulted the press for not being against Obama, he did not complained and now her people are screaming fault. The Clintons are not going to force themselves down the throat of people.

Will she defend her action in Bosina at the show.  If she will, I want to watch it.  I want to see how she lies and how she make herself look like a hero.

I don't get this. Was it Leno's idea? In which case, it's a little like saying you want to watch a 10 car pile-up on the x-way at 95mph at rush hour - both sad and disturbing. We need Mrs. Clinton right now, before I lose my job, my house, my livelyhood. If she was wise, she would use the spotlight to attack McCain.  Her attacks on Obama shows her lack of judgement.  At this point she is the best thing that ever happened to the GOP.

Maybe Jay will have the guts to press her on the questions about her credibility that Chelsea has been programmed to avoid.

Why do you let Hillary set everyday's agenda? It's as though her every utterance is like a command from on high !  
Now it is that Obama is trying to prevent people from voting and PA. is not the winning state, but it is Indiana.  All the boys are ganging up on her again.

She is getting free press from all of you, and her husband and Chelesa.  In my estimation, that is the gang of three getting heard to Obama's one voice.

I could be wrong, but I think Leno and Letterman pay for transportation and accomodations for their guests.  Good thing, because Hillary would have to skip the appearance if she had to pay out of her own pocket.  It amazes me that her supporters come on this board, and talk about Hillary as if she was an expert on fixing the American economy.  She cannot even manage the budget of her own campaign!

Hopefully she can tell Jay's audience about some of the other dangerous missions she had as First Lady.  I heard she tripped over some misplaced Rose Law Firm billing records in the White House once, while trying to find Bubba and his intern.
