Obama knocks McCain, Clinton on Iraq

MISSOULA, MT -- Montana's primary is still two months away, but Obama made a stop in Big Sky country this morning, bringing a strong anti-war message to a morning rally here.

Obama told the crowd that only he could be trusted to the bring the Iraq war to an end because he was the only candidate left in the race who opposed it from the beginning.

"So when somebody asks you, who you want answering the phone call at 3:00 in the morning, you tell 'em that [sic] want somebody who will actually read the intelligence, who will actually listen to the Senate views. Who will weigh the costs and the benefits of any action that's taken," he said, hitting both McCain and Clinton for not reading the National Intelligence Estimate before the voting on the Iraq war.

"You want in other words somebody with some good judgment, and I am happy to stack up my judgment against the other two candidate's judgment because they had their chance and they made the wrong choice. And you want somebody who will make the right choices answering that phone call at 3 o'clock in the morning," Obama added.

It should be noted that only six senators read the National Intelligence Estimate before the Iraq war vote. Some, like former Sen. Bob Graham, cited the estimate as a primary reason for his opposition to the 2002 Iraq war authorization. Others, like Jay Rockefeller, still voted for the war despite the report questioning intelligence that there really were weapons of mass destruction in Iraq.

Playing up the anti-Washington message, Obama told the crowd that it wasn't just the "Republican status quo" but also some of the "Democratic status quo"  that would resist the change that he represents.

"They're gonna resist change, because change is scary. Change is different. Sometimes even, we ourselves we're doubtful and we're fearful. And then politicians play on that fear," he said, pointing to the 3:00 am. ads that have seized the national attention.

"That's what that 3:00 am phone call ad was all about. To be afraid of what you're not used to. Doubt. It feeds into a cynicism," he said.

Weaving some economic lines into his stump, Obama said that he knew people in Montana and Wyoming were feeling more of the pinch from high gas prices because of the driving that they do here.

Appearing inspired by the mountainous landscape in Missoula, Obama told the crowd that he felt like take up fly-fishing. "This is some pretty country. I think I need to learn fly fishing. Get some waders, go out there, clear my head. We may have to come back to Missoula. There's no doubt about it," he said.

*** UPDATE *** Republican National Committee spokesman Danny Diaz responds to Obama: "As Barack Obama travels the country distorting Senator McCain's record his claims to represent a new brand of politics become more and more fictional. Obama continues to talk about his judgment but he can't even demonstrate the good judgment to repudiate a smear against Senator McCain's character."

McCain doesn't get that its not about whether or not the surge works.  We cannot force freedom and democracy upon those who don't welcome it.  Our presence in Iraq makes America LESS secure and Americans shouldn't die to prevent someone else's civil war.
First Read: noticed the article in the NY Times about HIllary's latest exaggeration on the hospital issue.  Any additional info there?
So, despite his advisers telling us that he may not immediately withdraw Obama because he isn't a reckless leader, it seems to me that Obama is the only one the Iraqi government has to fear. But Obama knows he'd be irresponsible and  not a compassionate leader if he simply orders troops home within a couple of months without assessing the consequences and other options.
That is when he will be able to judge through the lenses of the presidency, so whatever his advisers say won't matter to me. He has supported funding of the Iraq war because he does not want to put troops at the center of Bush-Congress disputes.
Mr. Obama you did not have a vote on Iraq.  You did not have the intelligence.  You made a lucky guess.
You are so ill-prepared, unexperienced, too thin a resume, have the audacity to listen to Rev. Wright for 20 years.

Hillary is a woman of substance, a fighter.  She is willing to roll up her sleeves and work for the middle class.
It's 3am and the Clinton phone is ringing. . . it's Pinnochio calliing.

Ohio hospital disputes Clinton's health care horror stump story.

Please, look who is talking about good judgement, does he even know what those words mean.  Obam has shown to lack good judgement in many ways, so don't even go there!  No one know how Obama would have vote, not even himself, if he was in the Senate at the time of the vote.  Since becoming a Senator he has a habit of vote the way of others, like Clinton.  The only person, and he was in the Senate at the time was Chuck Hagel, he vote then and continued to vote no ever since. Obama is a follower and not a leader!  No matter what he or the Obama generation says.
Obama in Big Sky Country, one of my favorite places on earth.  Obama, the sky's the limit with your leadership.  Your October 2002 Hyde Park speech on the Iraq war is what drew me to your candidacy.  I have not been disappointed yet.

Here is the speech for those of you who have not yet had the experience of either reading it or hearing it.  It is a truly monumental oratory that gives one insight to the mind that uttered these words.

"Good afternoon. Let begin by saying that although this has been billed as an anti-war rally, I stand before you as someone who is not opposed to war in all circumstances.

The Civil War was one of the bloodiest in history, and yet it was only through the crucible of the sword, the sacrifice of multitudes, that we could begin to perfect this union, and drive the scourge of slavery from our soil.

I don’t oppose all wars.

My grandfather signed up for a war the day after Pearl Harbor was bombed, fought in Patton's army. He saw the dead and dying across the fields of Europe; he heard the stories of fellow troops who first entered Auschwitz and Treblinka. He fought in the name of a larger freedom, part of that arsenal of democracy that triumphed over evil, and he did not fight in vain.

I don’t oppose all wars.

After September 11th, after witnessing the carnage and destruction, the dust and the tears, I supported this Administrations pledge to hunt down and root out those who would slaughter innocents in the name of intolerance, and I would willingly take up arms myself to prevent such tragedy from happening again.

I don’t oppose all wars.

And I know that in this crowd today, there is no shortage of patriots, or of patriotism.

What I am opposed to is a dumb war. What I am opposed to is a rash war. What I am opposed to is the cynical attempt by Richard Perles and Paul Wolfowitz and other arm-chair, weekend warriors in this Administration to shove their own ideological agendas down our throats, irrespective of the costs in lives lost and in hardships borne.

What I am opposed to is the attempt by political hacks like Karl Roves to distract us from a rise in the uninsured, a rise in the poverty rate, a drop in the median income to distract us from corporate scandals and a stock market that has just gone thru the worst month since the Great Depression.

That’s what Im opposed to. A dumb war. A rash war. A war based not on reason but on passion, not on principle but on politics.

Now let me be clear: I suffer no illusions about Saddam Hussein. He is a brutal man. A ruthless man. A man who butchers his own people to secure his own power. He has repeatedly defied UN resolutions, thwarted UN inspection teams, developed chemical and biological weapons, and coveted nuclear capacity. He’s a bad guy. The world, and the Iraqi people, would be better off without him.

But I also know that Saddam poses no imminent and direct threat to the United States, or to his neighbors, that the Iraqi economy is in shambles, that the Iraqi military a fraction of its former strength, and that in concert with the international community he can be contained until, in the way of all petty dictators, he falls away into the dustbin of history.

I know that even a successful war against Iraq will require a US occupation of undetermined length, at undetermined cost, with undetermined consequences.

I know that an invasion of Iraq without a clear rationale and without strong international support will only fan the flames of the middle east, and encourage the worst, rather than best, impulses of the Arab world, and strengthen the recruitment arm of Al Queda.

I am not opposed to all wars. I’m opposed to dumb wars.

So for those of us who seek a more just and secure world for our children, let us send a clear message to the president today.

You want a fight, President Bush? Let’s finish the fight with Bin Laden and Al Queda, thru effective, coordinated intelligence, and a shutting down of the financial networks that support terrorism, and a homeland security program that involves more than color-coded warnings.

You want a fight, President Bush? Let’s fight to make sure that the UN inspectors can do their work, and that we vigorously enforce a non-proliferation treaty, and that former enemies and current allies like Russia safeguard and ultimately eliminate their stores of nuclear material, and that nations like Pakistan and India never use the terrible weapons in already in their possession, and that the arms merchants in our own country stop feeding the countless wars that rage across the globe.

You want a fight, President Bush? Let’s fight to make sure our so-called allies in the Middle East, the Saudis and the Egyptians, stop oppressing their own people, and suppressing dissent, and tolerating corruption and inequality, and mismanaging their economies so that their youth grow up without education, without prospects, without hope, the ready recruits of terrorist cells.

You want a fight, President Bush? Let’s fight to wean ourselves off Middle East oil, through an energy policy that doesn't simply serve the interests of Exxon and Mobil.

Those are the battles that we need to fight. Those are the battles that we willingly join. The battles against ignorance and intolerance. Corruption and greed. Poverty and despair.

The consequences of war are dire, the sacrifices immeasurable. We may have occasion in our lifetime to once again rise up in defense of our freedom, and pay the wages of war. But we ought not we will not travel down that hellish path blindly. Nor should we allow those who would march off and pay the ultimate sacrifice, who would prove the full measure of devotion with their blood, to make such an awful sacrifice in vain."

Obama, is a man who can fill the big shoes of this presidency.  He can look up at the big skies and meet the challenges ahead.  With Obama at the helm, I look forward to the next eight years...bring it on!

GIVE ME A BREAK, HE WOULD BE THE MORE QUALIFIED CANDIDATE TO ANSWER THE 3:00 AM CALL?  WHAT QUALIFIES HIM? LISTENING TO HIS PASTOR WRIGHT EVERY SUNDAY, AND LEARNING FROM HIM THAT IT'S TIME FOR AMERICAN TO BE RUN BY BLACK-AMERICA.  NO, NO, NO, NO, WE CANNOT HAVE BORAK OBAMA BE OUR NEXT PRESIDENT.  THINK ABOUT IT?  WHY DO YOU THINK THAT HE IS ALWAYS TALKING ABOUT CHANGE, AND THE GOVERNMENT.  DOESN'T THAT SOUND A LOT LIKE PASTOR WRIGHT, AND THE WAY HE FEELS ABOUT AMERICA?  BOTH BILL CLINTON AND HILLLARY WENT INTO POLITICS BECAUSE OF THEIR LOVE FOR THEIR COUNTRY, AND NOT FOR PERSONAL GAINS.  IT IS OBVIOUS THAT THEY DO REAL WELL, REGARDLESS.  WHEN THE COUNTRY WAS IN BILL CLINTON'S HANDS, THERE WERE NO WARS, OUR ECONOMY WAS GREAT, ALL PEOPLE, OF ALL RACES, AND STATUS WERE PROGRESSING, AND MOVING AWAY FROM GOVERNMENT DEPENDENCE.  THAT'S WHAT HILLARY, AND BILL WANT FOR OUR COUNTRY.  OF THE TOO, SHE, WITH THE EXPERIENCE AND KNOWLEDGE THAT SHE GAINED FROM BEING FIRST LADY, WILL BE THE BEST ONE TO ANSWER THE PHONE AT 3:00 AM.
VOTE FOR HILLARY CLINTON FOR PRESIDENT.  I'M SURE THAT YOU WILL NOT REGRET IT.  IF OBAMA WINS THE NOMINATION, A LOT OF US WILL VOTE FOR MCCAIN, INSTEAD, AND THE REPUBLICANS WILL HAVE THE WHITE HOUSE, AGAIN. STOP AND THINK.
Common Barack, Anyone who had to dodge bullets in Bosnia is certainly more qualified than you to take that phone call.  And you weren't the one tearing up yesterday- i guess you don't really care.
I am sick and tired of Senator Obama's line that he was against the war, while Senator Clinton voted for it.  HE wasn't in the Senate when the vote was taken; he wasn't privy to the information they were given; and even the people who read the intellegence reports he has mentioned, voted the same way as Hillary  Clinton. (Kerry, Rockefeller, etc.)  So, please, Senator Obama, give it a rest and move on to something really important.  The economy and how to improve it; ending the mess in Iraq and bringing our troops home; taking care of the thousands who have come home, wounded and otherwise!
The crowd was huge, and the mayor of Missoula seems pretty cool, in a very low-key Montana way:

What we have,” Peraica says, “is a level of corruption that is integrated both vertically and horizontally across all layers of government: city, municipal, county, and state.” To him, the Rezko case illustrates that corruption in Illinois is a bipartisan problem. “We have a corrupt political combine, where the members of the two parties… have come together, not pursuant to a public interest, but to pursue their own financial interests, which they have done with great zeal and ingenuity.”

This corruption, should it become an issue in the campaign, could cause problems for Obama when people start to wonder how he could have made it through “the combine” without getting involved in the overlapping networks of patronage and influence. Peraica, for one, argues that he didn’t.

“Senator Barack Obama is an integral part and a product of this corrupt system,” Peraica says. “Senator Obama has endorsed Todd Stroger for Cook County board president, Mayor [Richard M.] Daley for mayor of Chicago, Dorothy Tillman for re-election as an alderman, and other epitomes of bad government throughout his career in order to promote himself politically, at the expense of, I would argue, principles and morals and good government.”

Obama’s relationship with Allison Davis -- the alleged go-between in Rezko’s scheme to shake down Tom Rosenberg -- could pose another problem for him. Obama worked for Davis at the law firm of Davis Miner Barnhill. Later, when Obama sat on the board of a charity called the Woods Fund, he voted to invest $1 million in a partnership operated by Davis, according to the Chicago Sun-Times.

Levine’s testimony in the Rezko trial puts Davis in the middle of an attempted quid pro quo, making him yet another associate Obama might be pressured to disown. And the trial could stretch well into May, at which point a Rezko conviction could lead to even more headaches for the candidate. If Rezko is looking at a long prison sentence and decides to start talking, who knows what he might say?

All the more reason that Obama might be tempted to try to address this metastasizing problem with a single bold gesture. Obama made a big speech about race to distract from his ties to one unsavory Chicago character, but distancing himself from an entire network of them might prove to be a tougher task. After all, Obama was able to claim the middle ground in his defense of Wright, denouncing Wright’s most radical views while excusing his run-of-the-mill resentments as being a not-atypical part of the black experience.

But America will have a harder time swallowing excuses for corruption as being a run-of-the-mill aspect of the Illinois political experience -- particularly not from a candidate that has promised a new kind of politics. To succeed, Obama would have to denounce the behavior of some of his closest allies and demonstrate a candor about his own experience in state government that’s been missing from his campaign thus far. In the Rezko trial, Obama might have finally encountered a problem that a speech alone won’t solve.

It is what it is. If Seantor McCain is offended that some people on the public stage point to his past, present, and future positions on the war, and assess him as a warmonger, then that is just tough. Who should hold him accountable, no one? He, and Hillary, were lazy, and irresponsible not to have read the intelligence report.
I believe every Senator that did not read the 'report' before voting to go to war, were in default of their duty, and will be judged as criminals. If they elude trial in an earthly court, they certainly shall not on The Day Judgement.
Their actions have directly resulted in over 4,000 American lives lost too soon, and many more thousands of Iraqis as well. In addition, the broken, shattered minds, bodies, and spirits that have returned home, only to find the pain of indifference, and neglect, from Bush, who demanded they risk their lives, and fight, is beyond tragic. It is pitiful how these families suffer from the psychological ravages of war.

I looked up the definition of the word warmonger. I will continue to use it as an adjective to describe Senator McCain. He deserves it. Especially because he hid his own sons, from the horrors of serving in Iraq. They serve elsewhere.

Pulling for Obama '08

I have been around 59 years with plenty of changes in my life...and yes change is scary but it usually works out for the best. It IS time for some real changes in the way we think and the way we conduct ourselves domestically and internationally.  An old saying by Seneca states, "The fates lead him who will...Him who won't they drag."  It is time to Change.
Hey, put [sic] after "take up" in your last paragraph.  You gonna [sic] point out grammatical errors of others, do so for yourself.

hey print this.  you never post my stuff.  WHATZUP??!! Don't B scurd! :) :) :)
Obama proposed bombing our ally Pakistan, and having unconditional, direct talks with out enemies????

THIS GUY IS SO NAIVE.... He's got NO CLUE about what it takes to run this country... Hillary actually does!

I wouldn't want Obama to be my Commander-in-Chief
Barack,

While you're pointing out this crucial information, put some pressure on McCain to release his tax returns.

He has not released them for 26 years. His campaign stated they will release them after April 15th.

He can't possibly have 25 years of late filing extensions with the IRS. He should release the returns from prior years. Given the uphill climb McCain's got to the Presidency, he should release everything from his dental records, to his colonoscopy report.

Pulling for Obama '08
On 7/27/04 in The  Chicago Tribune
"There's not much of a difference between my position and George Bush's position at this stage."

In autobiography "The Audacity of Hope" pub in 2006
He wrote "... on the merits I didn't consider the case against war to be cut-and-dried."

In 2006 he said
"I'm always careful to say that I was not in the senate, so perhaps the reason I thought it was such a bad idea was that I didn't have the benefit of US intelligence. And for those who did, it might have led to a different set of choices."

Against it from the start indeed. Can you say FLIP FLOP umm change boys and girls?  Wonder if the congressional "democrat status quo"  superdelegates know he's running against them too? Will the real slim shady please stand up? Don't vote for a self described "blank screen".
I shudder to think what will happen to our Country if this empty suit actually becomes the President of this great nation. Count me among the 28% who, as a Democrat, would rather vote for McCain than for this character. The more we learn about this guy the less we can stand him. First it was the hankie-pankie  with the Canadian embassy, than the preacher who is a hate monger, what next? Not to mention his wife, who is carefully being held away from the campaign so she can't shoot off her big mouth again. Some first lady she would make. We be the laughing stack of the rest of the world which would be little improvement of what we are now.
Only Obama, course he wasnt there. He said he didnt read the questionneer that he signed against gun ownership, manufacturing and issueing. He is not fit for president because he cannt stack his judgement at all. He sat and not only listened to that preacher but put his girls in that racist and hatefilled mess.Judgement about Iraq when 2 of his top people at different times and places have said he was wrong in speechs about what he would do.Judgement he said was bad haveing Reszko in his house and campaign fund deals . He wouldnt want his girls punished with a child?? I think that was bad judgement. No he is not the lone ranger with the pure record he would have us believe. The famous vote he has built his whole platform on for judgement. He said he would have done same thing and later he was in agreement with bush. Please it doesnt fly.He likes to mock or outright hit Hillary when his own supporters voted same as her.
Mr Obama
GOOD Judgment ???
1) Stayed in a church knowing you had a racist pastor for 20 years
2) Allowing your racist pastor to marry you and baptize your children
3) While your buddy was under investigation for frad and influence peddling you did a land deal with him and his wife and even said so yourself it was a bonehead idea /bad judgment on your part to do the deal
I think that Obama should only concentrate on McCain and not Clinton as it relates to the war. I think that Clinton in vulnerable in other areas and he should focus on those areas to gain more momentum on her.
The rub or bone of contention is that Barrack’s church has taken on the care , feeding and political indoctrination of a large segment of our black society by reporting our governments involvement in drug trafficking, poisoning our black  population etc. Their evidence of these activities  are presented on the recorded videos' (sold at Barrachs’ Church after church services) we have repeatedly seen on TV excerpts from those videos that describe in detail  the assertions of Reverend Wright and Barrack Hussein Oboma and his associates that the USA govt. has resorted to programs of egregious racial repression.

So what are we going to do about this?
First we should understand that when a lie is told often enough and their targets or victims of their efforts are convinced –without a second opinion- that they are being oppressed, then the lies will gain feet and have as evidenced travel a long way.

Oboma first claimed of no knowledge of his churches accusations concerning our governments alleged activities as described by his church leaders . If he is successful in persuading the citizens of the United States of his ineptness in not knowing what his church has stood  for, then we must believe he is just simple minded or honestly wants to disassociate himself from Reverend Wright and his church. Although he has lately admitted some knowledge of those little wright lies and has directed his frustrations to the white race as if they were somehow responsible for what has been going on in his church.
BLA-BLA-BLA--OBAMA---THAT'S ALL YOU PREACH IS THAT IRAQ VOTE....WE I BELIEVE IF YOU LOOK BACK TO THAT TIME, 70 % OF THE COUNTRY BACK THEN WAS BEHIND THIS STUPID INVASION TO IRAQ TO BEGIN WITH---SO I QUESS THE ADMINISTRATION FOOLED US ALL BACK THEN---BUT NO NOT YOU.....YOUR SPECIAL---YOU SAW WHAT MOST DIDI NOT BACK THEN---YOU READ THE TEA LEAVES. YA RIGHT. BACK THEN YOU WERE NOT IN THE SENATE TO HAVE MADE A DECISION-ON RECORD--AS TO WHAT TO DO WITH IRAQ. SURE YOU CAN SAY THAT "IF I HAD TO VOTE" I WOULD HAVE VOTED AGAINST THE WAR----PRETTY SAFE ANSWER TO ME, BUT THEN YOU ALWAYS GIVE "PRETTY SAFE" ANSWERS TO EVERYTHING---GUESS YOU WANT TO FOOL ALL THE PEOPLE--ALL THE TIME....GIVE IT A REST.
One of the things I admire about Obama is his willingness to try something new -- like bowling and fly fishing -- even if it means he may stumble a bit along the way.  I like that he doesn't always take the "politically safe" pathway.  I like that he's not afraid to risk making mistakes.  And when he DOES make a mistake, he admits to it.  I think that, on a small scale, this characteristic of his demonstrates to us that, as President, he's not going to be too fearful or overly cautious in tackling the unknown.  After all, our country faces a lot of challenges that the Washington status quo hasn't been able (or willing) to solve. At least Obama will TRY to address the issues!
Obama wasnt even in the senate at that time to vote. I use to like him now I am quite sick of him and will absolutely never be voting for him. I am actually going to actively campaign against him. Obama can not be our next president. Let's see if he can win without ohio, pennsylvania, and florida

Clintonites for McCain in '08
Ok, I'm from Montana and if ya wanna get a
Montana boy to take you more seriously and maybe
listen, mention how inspiring the scenery is and
some sort of outdoor activity like fly fishing.
Montanans always have had affinity for Teddy
Roosevelt because he his image as a down to
earth out doorsy guy struck a chord.  Somebody
on Obama's staff took the time to find out what
makes Montanans tick.  I already am leaning
toward voting for Obama and his mentioning
fly fishing in Montana really doesn't affect that
decision, however, the fact that he and his staff
took the time to sort out what special lines to
add to his stump speach tells me they are
meticulous and analytical.  It also tells me
they value those few delegates that Montana has
to offer. Good traits in a presidential candidate and his choice of staff.

Go Obama!

Hillary is telling her lies again:

“Also Saturday, Clinton campaign officials acknowledged that an anecdote Clinton has made a staple of her stump speech in recent weeks may not have been true and wasn't thoroughly checked for accuracy before she began repeating it on the campaign trail.

Since competing in Ohio's March 4 primary, Clinton has shared the story of an Ohio woman who worked in a pizza parlor and died after giving birth to a stillborn child. The woman was uninsured, Clinton said, and twice denied medical care at a local hospital because she couldn't pay a $100 fee.

Clinton said she learned of the story from a deputy sheriff whose home she visited while campaigning in Ohio. She told the story as recently as late Friday, at a rally in Grand Forks, N.D.

Officials with O'Bleness Memorial Hospital in Athens, Ohio, have disputed the story, saying the woman, Trina Bachtel, was insured and did receive care through an obstetric practice affiliated with the hospital, The New York Times reported Saturday.”

Obama has a strong argument that he is the only one who can be trusted on war judgment. It's appalling that anyone would vote to support a war without studying every detail of the intelligence, and he spoke out strongly against it when it was difficult to do so. Speaking of trust, what's the story on the hospital asking Hillary Clinton to stop telling another "misspeak" about the woman who didn't receive treatment?  I heard a little bit on it and wonder if anyone else picked up the story?
Let's see, the choices so far are:
Candidate #1, who we have discovered will tell the public whatever she feels like, regardless of the truth.  Words don't matter to her, for example, her word, considering that she did agree that Florida and Michigan wouldn't matter in the delegate count and now tells us that she always planned on them counting. It would seem that she was only going to demand them to be counted if she won the most delegates from the states, but that they shouldn't  count if she didn't win the most.
Candidate #2 is unstable according to several of his Republican Senator collegues. One of them said the thought of McCain as President sends chills down his spine.  Also, I could never vote for somebody who is against American families, which his voting confirms that he is.
Candidate #3 doesn't even know how to flyfish!  Oh well, they say he is a very fast learner.  I guess he can count on my vote.
oh yes he has such good judgement---10 years of bad judgement on Rezko,20 years bad judgement over Rev wright, typical white person remark---great judgement,Reagen and Bushh sr better presidents than Clinton---stupid remark going against your own party---very bad judgement. He DID not have a vote over the Iraq war made a statement that he probably would have voted yes if he had. What other good judgements has he made?No vote counted in FL and MI unless he gets a 50/50 split---what an egomaniac.I see where donors want their money back in FL I hope MI donors also get a refund.Obama does not need ourvotes anyway---especially in the general.
Obama, this guy is as solid as they come
Obama has shown he can be trusted to make good judgement.
http://twocanpete.blogspot.com/
He forgot to mention that McCain is a warmonger.
He is a complete idiot. He must be on hallucinogenics to think his judgement is even the least bit comparable to John McCain.
Fear, fear.. yada yada yada Mr. Obama.  Clintons message is not about fear it is about a reality check. He is so high on himself it makes me ill.
I was there, it was great to see our next President in person.  I became of age to vote in 1969, and think this is the most important election I will be voting in to date....For Barak Obama!!!
It is hard to go against what you supported.
I can see where he is coming from and his view does have some merit.
I think this 3 am thing is becoming ridiculous because of the fact of the matter is that there are advisers there with in the case eventuality to ensure there is prudence in the decision making process.
Montana is Obama country!!

While he did speak about the war a lot, it was education reform that drew the most enthusiasm from the crowd of 7500 Montanans.

He also referenced Sen. Clinton and Sen. McCain by name more than usual, saying that his differences with Sen. Clinton were not primarily on policy issues, but that she does not fully appreciate the need to fundamentally change Washington the way he does.  He continually compared Sen. McCain with GW, saying that he was running for Bush's third term, and repeating the "100 more years" of war in Iraq theme.

He did seem to misspeak once, referencing the wagoneers and frontiersmen who had enough hope to risk danger and death to "populate" Montana.  This drew a palpable groan from many of the Native Americans in the crowd.  They seemed very forgiving however (someone in front of me said "thats ok, we still love him").  He seemed to make it up when he referenced the "kid on the reservation, right here in Montana" who had been left behind by Bush and Co. education policy.

He also seemed to miss a couple of easy opportunities to tie local issues to his larger theme.  He made no reference to a local lumber mill that is closing in May, while talking about a struggling economy.  He also made no mention of the Miltown Dam removal, the Nation's largest superfund cleanup site, only about 5 miles from where he spoke, while speaking about energy policy.  I guess you can't expect him to be current on local issues everywhere he goes, but he could have scored some major points with the crowd had he done so.

All in all it was very exciting to see him in person and hear his stump speech.  And you can bet he'll do very well here in Big Sky country.  Hopefully Gov. Schwietzer, and Senators Baucus and Tester will get on  board soon.
Again a LIAR! Caught again in another lie,, The best HRC  can do is ""SHUT UP""!!!  SO HOLLOW AND RESIDES ON LIES TO FILL THE HOLLOW BEING!
Obama did not have the pressure of being in the senate during that vote and hearing from Colin Powell, etc.  After he made it to the senate he voted just like Hillary on questions about Iraq.

What abiut his judgement concerning Rezko?  What about his surrogates claiming he won't bring out the troops in sixteen months?  What about telling the Canadian government he will support Nafta? Can he be trusted?
Again, Barack Obama sounded both intelligent and very
Presidential.

Yes, we can!

Obama '08
Im Sorry but why does MSNBC insist on using First Read to tell us Obama's daily scedule and everything he said there. I mean I realize that this news organization has done everything but publicly endorse Barrack Obama but I DON'T CARE about this little rally thing he did (although the way this is written you would think Jesus Himself attended). Nothing said in the article above is news. EVERYBODY knows Barrack Obama did not support the war. And I think most people realize that saying you didn't support the war we are in doesn't help the situation at all. So MSNBC, how about we start acting like a REAL news organization and start reporting things fairly and unbaised.
The LA Times had a full page story this last week documenting Clinton's misstatements about her opposition to the war which I would love to see MSNBC analysts discuss.  She is the one getting a free ride I think on her credibility.  I love your shows!  Keep up the good work!
Obama is a flip floper. He used bad judgement when he and his family(young daughters)sat in the pews and listened to the sometimes hate rants of Wright.
All he had was a feeling that war with Iraq was wrong.I had the same feeling but that doesn't me ready to be president and neither is he.He gives a good feel good speech and that's all.
I've been on th Obama bandwagon for the last two months and think he's the best candidate, but even I'm getting tired about hearing how he didn't vote for the war.  O-man, we get it and we all know it, and that's one of the main reasons we support you.  But quit it already- it's your known tagline, so you don't have to keep repeating it.
Sounded like a great speech.

He sure can deliver 'em.
Also Saturday, Clinton campaign officials acknowledged that an anecdote Clinton has made a staple of her stump speech in recent weeks may not have been true and wasn't thoroughly checked for accuracy before she began repeating it on the campaign trail.

Officials with O'Bleness Memorial Hospital in Athens, Ohio, have disputed the story, saying the woman, Trina Bachtel, was insured and did receive care through an obstetric practice affiliated with the hospital, The New York Times reported Saturday.

The only thing left out is who if anybody will hold this Bush administration accountable criminally. We know Clinton, McCain is apart of the elite group and will not upset the normal Washington business practice routine. Will the Obama administration or Clinton/McCain connect the dots for the American people, will the Obama administration call to front and center the people(GOP & Democrat) that powered this bogus machine that has crippled America itself? Those senators that voted for the war and its continuation has to be held accountable as well, the precious blood of our sons and daughters cry out for atonement. We all know this Iraqi war was a scheme for big business to make money, but to use Americana's tax dollars is criminal especially when taxpayers get the short end of the stick. I hear the Obama administration Clinton/McCain talking loud but who will actually hold these culprits accountable?
Wow he is right. Montana makes me want to fly fish to.
