First applause line of the night

From NBC's Lauren Appelbaum
Clinton received the first applause line of the night. "I wish Bush and Cheney would apologize for the last seven years and not run anybody," she said to applause. Of course, the moderators have asked the audience not to applaud or boo.

*** UPDATE *** The Obama campaign points out to us that Obama got the first applause line of the night, when he said people cared about the issues.

wHAT ARE YOU WATCHING? THAT IS NOT WHAT I HEARD, SO WATCH THE RERUNS AND THEN SEE WHO GOT THE FIRST APPLAUSE.
That's about the only way she would win a general election. Doesn't sound very democratic, either.
I totally disagree - What is a flag button? Come on. We are in a recession and a war.If the only thing that can make you happy is him wearing a button great! for me I wish to hear some information that will help me decide on a candidate. NOT a button, where you stand on the issues.
That's incorrect, Obama received several earlier.
It was a good line...I think it was a good connection with the audience.
The candidates have been interrupted numerous times by applause...I'm really not sure what you're talking about.
And Hillary likes kittens too.
THis is a terribly handled debate.  There is an obvious bias, all negative questions to Obama.  No follow up questions on Hillary's Bosnia Lie.  George S. should not be allowed to ask questions, period! I hope it is reported widely about this biased debate.  No issues for the first 45 minutes, all silly season questions.  Of course this probes Obama right: people want to solve problems, not be distracted by wedged issues.

They should be saying thank you to her and all the other Democrats who have given them a free ride four the last seven and a half years.
WRONG.  Stephanopoulos cut off the first round of applause, which was for Obama.  Shocking.
This appears to be the 'All Hillary, all the time' debate!  The tough questions seem to be aimed at Obama, and she's skating...  Worst debate I've watched so far...  ABC truly is the Absolutely Backing Clinton network!
Yeah Lou, Hillary likes to eat kittens.
The first applause line was when Obama said let's get to issues.  But Charlie cut the applause.  What a farce of a debate.  Real TV tabloid journalism.  Hope they don't get to host another debate.
ASC
Senator Obama, it is not going to get any easier. If you wan to be the POTUS, this is what it is. Hang in there.
Thanks for being our emotion monitors Gibson and Steph. We appreciate you keeping us from reacting the wrong way to your lame questions.
I THINK CHARLIE IS RUDE, PRESUMPTUOUS, IGNORANT AND REALLY DISRESPECTFUL TO SENATOR OBAMA WITH HIS SILLY INTERUPTIONS AND NOT ALLOWING HIM TO FINISH HIS STATEMENTS.  HIS IGNORANCE IS SHOWING OUT LOUD.
Obama got applause - wasn't that the two people that Obama inplanted.

Why is Obama Campaign worried about applause for Obama?  Goodness.  They should have better prepared him for the debate and issues.
I HOPE THESE TWO IDIOTS WHO CALL THEMSELVES HOSTS SHOULD NOT HOST ANOTHER INTELLIGENT DEBATE.  LOOK AT THE POOR WAY OF HOSTING.  INTERUPTION, RUDE COMMENTS AND DISRESPECT TO SENATOR OBAMA.  SHAME ON CHARLIE SHAME ON YOU.
GO OBAMA GO OBAMA
Who cares about a flag pin, or an  Ayers.  I'm in a crises with my home and trying to pay my bill like trillions of others people in this country.  Senator Obama is so much more intellectual than Hillary.  Clinton was talking long and talking wrong.  She runs her mouth a lot.  She is just an air bag of words without substance.  Senator Obama makes more clarity than Hillary.
The debate was a bizarre farce. I'm beside myself with embarrassment for this country, it's "journalists" and culture.
ABC is horribly biased--of the first 40 minutes, about 30-35 were spent with Gibson and George S.  attacking Obama relentlessly on his "bitter" comment and Jeremiah Wright, while Clinton periodically chimed in with little digs.  What a joke of a debate.  ABC should be ashamed of itself....
Finally, ABC brought out issues; not like other media who coddled CrockObama....he needed to answer the questions
What an unfair and biased debate!  Charlie was outright rude to Senator Obama, using sarcasm, cutting him off.  George S. has been in the Clinton camp since his days as Press Secretary for them.
Wonder how much HRC paid them both for tonight's
"performance"
Why don't you all cry a little...wah...wah...wah...
Doesn't matter who got the clap first... I think it was Obama... and of course the Obamamites didn't follow the debate rules... I'm surprised they didn't say George was being raciest for calling them out for the clap....
I actually enjoyed this debate!  I think it showed the american people how crooked the clinton's are and where the clinton money is going!!

Odviously some went to ABC this evening!!
