Cheney's comedy routine

Posted: Thursday, April 17, 2008 2:32 PM by firstread

From MSNBC.com's Andy Merten
Last night at the Radio and Television Correspondents Dinner here in Washington, Vice President Dick Cheney tried his hand at a little stand-up comedy. President Bush, who typically attends the event himself, was busy holding a dinner honoring the visit of Pope Benedict XVI. So he opted to send Cheney, who he described as the funniest person he knows.

The VP joked with the Washington press corps about comparisons of him to Darth Vader, Obama's bitter remarks, and of course, that little rumor about the reflection in his sunglasses.

There it is.  Finally, the news Americans have been waiting for.  How do you stop the media from this?  Is there something we can do?  Someone to call?
"So he opted to send Cheney, who he described as the funniest person he knows."

Funny meaning "ha ha" or funny meaning "strange"?
Cheney doesn't hold a candle to the new Fake News team over at ABC. They are truly laughable.
He'd actually be funny if he weren't a criminal who belongs behind bars.
What a funny guy!  If he weren't directly responsible for $115 oil prices and the deaths of 4,000 soldiers, I'd be laughing right along with him.
If it wasnt so tragic it would be funny, but the last eight years was his comedy routine.  Whats great is the overall dislike even MACAIN people cant stand him.
The perfect ending to my lousy day: last night I watched the lowest point in American journalism unfold in the form of the ABC debate, this morning I woke up to a headline that 50 Iraqis died in a funeral bombing and now First Read fills me in on the antics of the worst Vice President in history. Oh I'm laughing....
He, and Bush have taken the country to hell in a handbasket, and what do they do? They go to parties, sing, and tell jokes about their evil, criminal deeds. They hunt, and fish while the people are in desperate need of answers, and help. They are still very much on the clock until January 2009. I don't want to hear the excuse about being lame ducks. If they cared at all, that would matter not. I can't imagine Senator Obama acting so callously.

These men have no souls. I am waiting for the lightning, that will strike someday. I would'nt come within 100 miles of either Bush, or Cheney.

YES WE CAN!
I've actually met him and he does have a very dry sense of humor.  What is really going to be funny is what happens to him when he decides to travel overseas after this year.  The Hague has a few questions to ask him.
What a poor excuse for humans (Cheney and Bush. It is sad that they (Cheney & Bush) are still here and are not behind bars, where most us would be if we had broken the LAW like they have. I do not watch or read anything they have to say. All they do is more damage or laugh to themselves about all the damage they have done. January 2009 can not come fast enough.
I like him much better as a comedian than VP.  Soon, he & Bush can join up with Rove as a comedy team - The Three Bushkateers
I saw Cheney's act the original time it aired on Fox, in its entire form, not missing a word.

Cheney poked fun at everybody, including himself.
He intentionally mis-pronounced Keith Olbermann's name but his best shot of the evening came when he said "I believe in Global Warming, only I call it Spring. And guess what, it's gonna get a whole lot warmer." The crowd roared.... and referring to Hillary's sniper fire in Bosnia Cheney said "I think she's confusing it with the time I took her hunting."

Even comedian Mo Rocca took some shots at the low ratings of MSNBC, insinuating that Keith Olbermann and Brian Williams are only Edward R. Murrow wannabees. But, in actuallity, everyone was fair game.
Cheney was just showing how much of joke he really is.I guess this clown has nothing else to worry about. But then again he has filled up his pockets in this administration and doesn't have to worry about money.Nothing but a dammed tyrant anyway. How does it feel to be responsible for a million dead people DICK.
As President, I hope Obama's initiates a probe into the relationships of GWB and the Bin Ladin family, Cheney's profits from Iraq, and both GWB and Cheneys roles in torture, and finally GWB's, and Cheney's potential for war crimes against humanity.  Also the logic behind the attack on Al Qaeda/Taliban needs to be analyzed as to why this terrorist group was allowed to retreat into Pakistan.  Studies of the Taliban from their interaction with the Russian invasion should have indicated thier retreat pattern.
Cheney is a genius. His routine last night pushed the liberal media back and put them in their place. Many congrats to the VP!
You see a lot liberals mad now at ABC. They've always been angry and bitter with Fox News, but now other networks are starting to treat King Barack like a Republican, and are starting to ask the tough questions to him. Pretty soon the libs will hate everyone, then maybe they'll finally be happy.
And why isn't Hillary a republican? They like her a lot more than Obama!
I WOULD RATHER SEE CHENEY'S COMEDY ROUTINE THAN THIS NOT STOP CLINTON CAMPAIGN CIRCUS...
What's criminal is the stupidity of all these people talking about the "criminal" Dick Cheney.  Smart man, great vice president.

Try getting your news from somewhere other than Olbermann or the Daily Kos.
Cheney has done more than anyone else to make America laughed at by the rest of the world.

The fact that people STILL think he did a good job either points to the fact of wilful disbelief or stupidity.
Cheney not nearly as funny as Obama last night!

Obama did not have his MSNBC team serving up soft questions and it showed!

Obama whinning - get out now if you can't take the heat!  It was OK when they pounded Hillary in the earlier debates.  Obama blames the moderators for his associations with Wright et al. Obama should just tell the truth!

Good job Hillary!
In the prism of history I believe Bush, Cheney, Rumsfield and their other accomplices will correctly be seen as war criminals.
I'd say "don't quit your day job, Mr. VP, but we do want to see him impeached before he leaves office!

Support the Troops -- Bring them HOME!!!

Obama 2008 -- Yes, WE CAN
Ken, get that brown shirt off and into the wash...there's drool on it.
That was almost as funny as Bush looking under his desk for WMDs. Some disabled Iraq vets are still chuckling over that one.
I saw a good part of Mo Rocca and much of the Cheney segment.  I heard laughter during Cheney's and mostly silence and quiet titters for Rocca, the professional.  What I heard from Rocca simply wasn't funny and Cheney was.  Better writers probably.

The bonus was that, in addition to being funny, it was a nice big Hillary-like "Screw em'", just more subtle.

Even the Cheney-haters can get an extra little hate fix out of it.  Everyone wins.  Rocca was just boring.
There is nothing funny about Cheney.  How much money has he made from the 'no bid' Haliburton contract to rebuild Iraq? A 'no bid' Federal contract is a crime. I didn't hear Hillary's voice when that contract was awarded either. So she votes yes for the war and then says nothing when American tax payers bleed money in an illigal contract that was never put out to bid. What exactly is this experience that qualifies Hillary for President?
