Bill: I didn't hear Hillary 'whining'

Posted: Thursday, April 17, 2008 5:13 PM by Mark Murray

From NBC/NJ's Mike Memoli
ST. MARY'S, PA -- Bill Clinton has been talking all day about how great he thought last night's debate was. At his most recent stop, he pushed back at some of the complaints coming from the Obama campaign, saying his wife didn't whine when she took some hits.

"[Obama staffers] were saying, 'Oh this is so negative, why are they doing this.' Well, they've been beatin' up on her for 15 months," Clinton said. "I didn't hear her whining when he said she was untruthful in Iowa, or called her the senator from Punjab... But you know, this is a contact sport. If you don't want to play, keep your uniform off."

Clinton also noted that the Obama camp has "said some pretty rough things about me, too," and shortly after again pushed back against the sentiment that there wasn't much difference between his or the Bush Administration.

"They've been trying to make that old mangy dog hunt since Nevada," he said.

He did say, though, that the race so far "has been basically positive campaign on the issues."

The stop in this small town was the third of the day, and the first to be held outdoors in the Keystone State. Much of the town turned out, either huddled in front of the three story house or standing in the street.

It was a very supportive crowd, as well, laughing at even the oldest of Clinton quips and loudly cheering the most simple stump line. And appropriately, given Clinton's comment, the campaign music playlist included a new addition before and after his speech -- the theme from "Rocky."

According to one local reporter, the visit by Clinton was the first by a sitting or former president in at least a century. Harry Truman did pass through when he was a senator from Missouri; Teddy Roosevelt passed nearby the town as he traveled by train to Washington shortly after President McKinley was shot in Buffalo.

Hillary Clinton has been whining and spewing out trivia nonsense every since the campaign started. And to think that old didnt have sex Bill could accuse somebody else of whining. At least once Hillary is out of the way the election can move on to an adult level.
Better find some body armor Bubba...cuz when  Hillary loses this one....you will need it!!!
For the past 20 years we've been living in a BUSH/CLINTON America. Please,No More!!! We need to close this chapter in our history. I don't care if it is OBAMA or McCAIN. If the CLINTONs go back to the WHITE HOUSE, it will be the same DIVIDED country as usual. All the old names would resurface; Linda Tripp, Ken Starr, Monica, Paula, Gennifer, White Water,James McDougal,Vince Foster(Former white House councilor, and colleague of Hillary Clinton at Little Rock's Rose Law firm. Died of a gunshot wound to the head, ruled a suicide.)We need a new direction, any direction.
Hillary is such an ugly and awful woman! I don't even want to imagine how halitosised her breath is. And to think she brought the women to Bill!! What a mad odd couple these are. ONLY FOOLS would vote for them.
As I read through the comments after affairs such as this debate, I can't help thinking what childish, picky. bigotted and biased people we turn into when we think our "Favorite candidate is being picked on.  True to form, our candidate can do no wrong and the other one is the devil in disguise.  No wonder they "play" and use us , not by honesty, but, rather by deviousness and cunning. We, like idiots, let it happen instead of acting like intelligent, sensible adults trying to make a wise choice.
1) You say the debate was fair on Morning Joe, but ignore the fact that Hillary did not have to answer for Penn or Bill (one of which blew right before the debate).  If Penn was a liability and she claimed she fired him, why not press her on this issue?

2) After 21 debates she has yet to explain what Bill will do in the White House, and you know Republican's will have commercials about the Millions they got from Columbia and China.  Why is this not a fair question?  Won’t the Republican’s in the Fall have commercials about Hillary literally being in bed with a lobbyist for China?

3) Obama received 4 out of the first 5 questions, is this not an Ambush?  How can you say Hillary stood up to the heat when the only time the heat was turned on she stumbled on the Driver's License question? Furthermore, the moderators never followed up on any question outside of the electable question.

4) When did Chris Matthews become a Clinton Supporter?  I don't care since my minds made up, but since rumors started about a Senate he has veered strongly to her camp.  I wonder if Clinton owning the entire Penn. Machine has anything to do with this?

5) Stop putting up Ford as if he is neutral just because he has not endorsed anyone. Point out that he is part of the DLC, the same group that Hillary, Bill, and Bayh are a part of and created. He is not neutral and it is obvious when he speaks.

From someone who doesn't mind hard questions, as long as the don't ignore the 10,000 pound Gorilla in the room named Bill Clinton.
On Morning Joe this morning Joe said Florida votes should count. Obama did not get a chance to have the people of Florida get to know him... Clinton has been around a long time and was a familiar name...How can the votes count.....Also if there had been a later vote in California the poll said Obama would win..(for the same reason). I will no longer watch morning Joe. He is too biased and also bullies his female side kick. She can't say anything without a look from him showing it's OK....She should speak up....
Dear Americans,
I live in DC but I am a European (and most certainly will remain one). I have watched all debates, commentaries etc. and I have one big question: How on earth does Billary get away with all of this? The Sniperfire, Mark Penn, 109 million, the negative attacks, the fact the the moderator was a Clinton employee trying to act as an objective figure? I sincerely hope the American People will make a good choice this time... I will leave the country ASAP if Hillary is elected.
