Clinton: Chelsea's negative press

The Los Angeles Times does a tough piece on Chelsea. "For the first time, she is facing the kind of scrutiny that has bedeviled the candidates and their surrogates along the campaign trail. During a long day of campaigning in Oregon on Saturday, she mentioned at two different stops that during the course of the campaign a 7-year-old and an 11-year-old had separately asked her ‘with terror in their eyes’ what will become of the Social Security system. It's possible they were precocious, or that their parents put them up to it, but one skeptical blogger wrote afterward that the story was ‘stunning in its absurdity.’ (When asked for details, such as where and when Clinton met the children, the campaign could not provide them.)"

The University of Pennsylvania's student newspaper endorsed Clinton. "But while Obama's charisma far outshines that of Sen. Hillary Clinton, her public service, political experience and tenacity tell us not only 'Yes we can' but also 'How we can.'"

Clinton poked fun at her own readiness-to-solve-problems mantra, during a taping of Comedy Central's The Colbert Report last night, NBC/NJ’s Athena Jones reports. John Edwards was also on the show, and he and Clinton chatted backstage before she taped a minute-and-a-half bit with comedian Stephen Colbert. Details regarding what she and her former rival spoke about and how long they talked were not forthcoming.

The bit began with Colbert introducing a segment on Wednesday night's debate. The giant screen behind him shows color bars instead of a picture of what is supposed to be the city's Liberty Bell. Colbert asked his technician -- a disembodied voice whose owner we never see but whom he calls Jimmy -- to fix the picture. Jimmy says he can't because all the technicians are back in New York.
Colbert: Are you telling me there's no one in this theater who can fix the mess we're in?
Clinton: I can. I can, Stephen. (The crowd continues to whistles, yelps and cheers.) Well, let me handle this. Jimmy?
Disembodied voice known as Jimmy: "Yes, Sen. Clinton?"
Clinton: About the screen. Are you using a digital or analog production truck?
Disembodied voice known as Jimmy: It's digital.
Clinton: Well, you've got a signal so the lamp is good. How are you feeding this? Through the router or the aux buss on the switcher?
Disembodied voice known as Jimmy: It's an aux.
Clinton: Well, try toggling the input.
Clinton: You know what, Stephen? Your forehead is a little shiny. Makeup, makeup can we get some translucent powder please?
Colbert: Wow, Sen. Clinton, you're so prepared for any situation.
Colbert: I just don't know how to thank you enough.
Clinton: That's ok, Stephen. I just love solving problems. Call me anytime.
Colbert: Really?
Clinton: Sure. Call me at 3 am.

The segment came off as fairly rehearsed, Jones notes, but the crowd ate it up.

Oh hum....enough of the 3 am phone calls already. If it isn't a superdelegate telling Hillary they are bailing, it's a bill collector telling her to PAY HER BILLS. how can she run a country and can't run her campaign. Hillary take her scusband and daughter back to NY. there may be a governor job waiting the way they are kicking people out of office up there.

The Clintons (including Chelsea) are really getting good at story telling (fiction). How can Clinton supportes overlook all the lies and forgeries committed by this family. Who has forgotten the scandalous 90s? The Clinton supporters are fooling themselves to think that this campaign has been anything but scandals and lies and it is evident of what kind of an administration she will offer if given a chance. Just see how many times she has tried to change the rules in the middle of the game? How many lies has she already fed to her naive supporters? We don't need more years of lies and deceit, we deserve better than that. I do hope sometime in the future there will be a woman president, BUT THIS IS NOT THE RIGHT WOMAN. If the superdelegates really care about the country's future they should put an end to this madness and let the Democratic Party start the preparations for the General Elections. They should put all the loyalty they might have for the Clintons aside and think about all the pressing problems that we are facing as a nation. The voters have done their job, now it is up to the superdelegates to put an end to this. This is not a game, this is our lives and our children's future. WE REALLY CAN'T RISK LOSING THE ELECTION THIS YEAR, JUST BECAUSE WE ARE DEALING WITH AN UNSCRUPULOUS AND STUBBORN CANDIDATE WHO IS WILLING TO DO AND SAY ANYTHING TO WIN BECAUSE OF HER SELFISH QUEST FOR POWER.

Yall be nice to lil Hillary, she is the product of bad manners and proper inbreeding. Ok that was not nice and I take it all back .But she is the product of to really hard core politicians. She can not be faulted that she has the can't help it's with her fish stories. I just cant understand how the press even fell for the you cant question our daughter thing. She is a grown up maybe not capable of thinking for erself but an adult all the same. So at every event she has the press should open the flood gate of questions.To the guy that said she is being used for attractiveness on young male voters. I am sorry but she is not that attractive. Frankly put she is kinda an eyesore just like her mooma before the doctors went to work on her.I think lil Hill could use a lil more time under the knife to help the looks thing too!!

the obamapods have nothing to offer but hate and it is a fact that they slime all those that have not fallen for the Obama bs.Even the media talks about their uglyness.To scourge Chelsea is just another example of their hate and bitterness.They have caused myself and many others to dislike Obama with their taunts and threats.Dean talks like man with a paper hat for a head.Hurry up and vote you superdelegates---so we can begin the healing for November.He cannot be that ignorant--there will be no healing.
