Delegate update: OH delegates adjusted

Posted: Friday, April 18, 2008 1:26 PM by Domenico Montanaro

From NBC's Domenico Montanaro
NBC News has adjusted the pledged delegate count in Ohio, adding one for Obama and subtracting one for Clinton. Despite Clinton's double-digit victory, she netted seven delegates (74-67).

Obama now leads by 166 pledged delegates, 1,417-1,251, and leads overall by 142 delegates, 1,652-1,510.

Clinton leads in superdelegates, 259-235. (Neither David Boren nor Sam Nunn, who endorsed Obama today, are superdelegates.)

Anyone wonder why people who know the Clintons really well are supporting Obama?

Get used to saying President John McCain.
Get used to saying President John McCain.
THE MAGIC NUMBER:  I think MSNBC should stop with all the pledged vs. super. vs. wahtever and just put up "the magic number" -- namely, how many delegates someone needs to secure the nomination.  Right now for Obama it is 372.  He'll get about 200 out of PA, IN and NC.  Which means if 170 something supers go his way, it's over.

Another fun number to watch is when will Obama overtake Clinton in superdelgates?  Probably next week.
US republicans are not scared of Obamabots.Bring them on. Can't wait to see Dems crying in November.

Nothing on Robert Reich?

I'm sure Carville has a few choice words for him...
Obama needs to stop whinning  and "man-up"!

McCain is going to kill him in the General Election.
Hell, my great father who is in a wheelchair and 101 years old is tougher than Obama
Things are not looking good for Monica Lewinsky's boyfriends wife.  On top of that, the Peter Paul trial will be starting soon.  Imagine, someone accusing Hillary Clinton of fraud.  I never thought I would see the day that would happen.
Super Delegates need to be "super" and make up their minds. I say... Regardless of who you support, you have seen 21 debates all the speeches, town hall meetings, received phone calls, witnessed bowling, beer shots and other campaign oddities. Plenty to make a "call".

It is time to get off your hands and do your job. Make a decision and make it public. Let's get this thing wrapped up!

The way the Dems divvy up Delegates...even with a HRC win of 10 points...she MAY only net 6ish Delegates...

There is no way for her to catch up...

She can do the right thing and throw her support for Obama or sabotage his campaign and 'come to the rescue' in 2012...

She has no chance either way...she should just face the fact that she totally mismanaged her campaign..period.
Drip...Drip...Drip... Keep it coming, we will take them all even the flip flopers...

Obama 08
James Carville will call Robert Reich a "Judas" in five .... four .. . . . . . three . . . .
Great News!!!!!
Like stream that seeks a river and the river that
seeks the ocean ...may it flow to the White House!

End Game I dont wonder !! I see why the longer this thing goes that they trully are the kinda of people Hill , Bill and Chelsea that will do and say anything to win. That said I am sure that only people of the same nature would continue to support her. They are the same people that when they get into a fight that they started and are losing, throw sand into the eye of their opponent and start biting around the ankles .They are trully shamefull to think I once revered them both. And that little testy spore of theirs is another snob just like mommy.  Frisky Bill and Lying Hill and the lil Snapper.
Sullivan: The great benefit of a McCain-Obama election will be the emergence of two flawed, human, but basically decent men who represent what I think of as the best and most sincere faces of their respective parties.

Thanks for always having up to the minute delegate counts.  But can you start listing how many unpledged superdelegates remain?

Vote for the other Democrat: John McCain

McCain 'fans' need to be praying to the pope this week that Hillbill can pull this out, because Obama beats McCain 9 times out of 10....write it down. McCain, however beats hillary 10 out of 10...no question. You guys better start getting on your knees and hope hillary can pull out double digit win and a lot more dirt by next Teusday...

otherwise: game over.
You McWar people had better play nice Grammpa McWar cant stand to much excitement he wont make nov. if he does.Think he had better get another weekend of rest.
Two weeks ago, Hillary promised the Democratic leaders she would keep the race civil.

There was concern that the battle could get ugly and destroy the Democrats chance at the white house.

Super delegates need to say enough.
A perfect example of how the Democrat Party has screwed up the whole primary process with favoritism to special groups.
How dare you Obama supporters.  Shame on you!!  The audacity to even HOPE you can be a part of some productive movement.  Trying to take back control of your own country like that, why, that's just ludicrous!  At least we Hillary and McCain peasants, er, supporters know where we belong.  You Obamanites are over-stepping your boundaries.  It's time for someone to step in and act, like fix one of the debates on ABC or something.

Yeah, communism!
Sam Nunn and David Boren are two HUGE heavyweights in the foreign policy and national security world.  This is the headlines, not the delegate count.

Why do these two men matter? Because like so many other intelligent people, we can see through the distractions and judge candidates on their vision and judgment.  You do not need to have CNN, ABC or FoxNews supply the facts for us.  With the internet, we have the ability to look at first-source materials such as committee hearings transcripts and newspaper archives to find information for ourselves.
The traditional politics rules no longer apply. That is why TV advertising is not the same force as it was just 4-8 years ago.

Obama has the nomination, no matter how Pennsylvania votes.  We are just treading water until after May 6th when the remaining undeclared Democratic Senators and Representatives will endorse Obama as a group, and send the "Clinton 3" back to Chappaqua to scream at each other.
McCain supporters are in denile of their candidates chances.  Keep talkin' your smack!  At least our candidates don't have the current presidents hand up our toosh, and using us as puppets like Bush/McCain.  I'll be honest, I used to like McCain until he became a tool for the GOP.  See all y'all in November when the Dems will win office!!!
When will FirstRead report on Peter Paul v Clinton trial?

http://www.hillaryproject.com/index.php?/en/story-details/will_the_media_ever_report_on_the_upcoming_clinton_vs_paul_trial

An important date on that case is April 25, 2008 (next week).
I think we all deserve more that a neutral moderator. This one has really got lost while sqiezing obama

Go Obama 08
People are nuts if they think McCain has a chance. The Dems will have a double digit lead coming out of the convention.  When McCain gets up on stage next to Obama, the contrast will be striking - past vs future. There is no way McCain wins.

On another note, does anyone really believe that McCain will be more negative than Hillary? I don't.  Perhaps the Repub 527's will be tough, but I don't believe McCain will pile on in the same dirty way Clinton does.  McCain has some integrity.

Obama in not entirely innocent of negative attacks, yet this notion that he is not tough conflates his civility with vulnerability. He could have chosen to engage in the same sort of calumny that Senator Clinton put forth, specious claims that she herself knows to be specious and even worse exploitative of our baser instincts and prejudices, but he restrained himself, and now he is being maligned for it. He is not an ideal candidate, as he himself acknowledges, but he is one that strives for integrity and perhaps may offer a new approach and a new manner of leadership.

Before this process started, everyone was talking about how the Clinton "machine" would chew up and spit out everything in it's path come Super Tuesday. Now that her machine is being soundly rejected by voters everywhere for its Republican-style attacks, everyone is saying wait until November and see how McCain chews up Senator Obama. Well, if there US electorate is truly tired of the old-style politics, then McCain's negatives will go up (just like Hillary's) once he starts his attacks. What will the Republicans use for ammunition if the personal attack machines don't work? The war, or the economy or trade policies or education or out-sourcing jobs or tax cuts to the rich or......
David Boren is listed as a Superdelegate on Politico.
Delegate count for contenders is shocking.
HRC had to win Ohio and Texas, and a big to-do was made that she did.  Now, on net, she won 7 delegates in Ohio, and lost that many in Texas.  So those big races, HRC netted zero, nothing.
The same will happen in Pa.  Hopefully, Obama will pull this one out with the popular vote, and the delegate will follow.
IT IS ALL OVER, HILLARY.
It's over.  It's been over and Hillary has just failed to acknowledge it to the detriment of her party.  But that's okay because as Andrew Sullivan has written the end result in a choice between Obama and McCain is a choice between 2 decent people.

As far apart as they are on the issues, I'd happily take either of those gentlemen over the remaining alternative.
These McSame fools are just plain delusional...they should be, they're the recalcitrant crazy Clintonistas!

Obama 08!

Hillary Clinton On Southern Working Class Whites In 1995: "Screw 'Em"
From Huffingtonpost.com:

...In January 1995, as the Clintons were licking their wounds from the 1994 congressional elections, a debate emerged at a retreat at Camp David. Should the administration make overtures to working class white southerners who had all but forsaken the Democratic Party? The then-first lady took a less than inclusive approach.

"Screw 'em," she told her husband. "You don't owe them a thing, Bill. They're doing nothing for you; you don't have to do anything for them."

The statement -- which author Benjamin Barber witnessed and wrote about in his book, "The Truth of Power: Intellectual Affairs in the Clinton White House" -- was prompted by another speaker raising the difficulties of reaching "Reagan Democrats." It stands in stark contrast to the attitude the New York Democrat has recently taken on the campaign trail, in which she has presented herself as the one candidate who understands the working-class needs...

The Dems should have had a good shot at reclaiming the White House, but that's not the case.  The two remaining Dem candidates are PATHETIC!!!  I may not vote at all.
IF OBAMA WILL GET NOMINATED, I BET YOU THAT HILLARY WILL WORK BEHIND THE SCENS, LIKE WITH HEALTHCARE IN 1992, AND WILL DO HER BEST FOR HIM TO LOSE THE ELECTION, JUST TO MAKE HER POINT.
Wow.  Big win in Ohio, huh Hillary? I was taking a nap until Wednesday morning, but I think I'm gonna be paying close attention this weekend.  I'm kinda looking for a conscession speach. Something like: "My fellow Democrats, I have placed a call to Sen. Obama congratulating him on kicking my butt during this primary season> He has won more states, most votes, and now, WAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAYYYYY more delegates than I really wanted to give him credit for. Oh, please, you know I through the kitchen sink and the fridge, dishwasher, stove, heck, even the shed from outside with all the tools in it, and you "people" decided to go with him instead of me. So lets (whatever) unite as a party and bring home a victory for the Democratic Pary (whatever)".

Wait... sheesh... I think I was dreaming while napping until Wednesday... ok... my bad zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz
Obama = LEMMING, LIAR, HYPOCRITE. Get over it folks, if he wins, start saying President McCain!
Chuck,

Can you explain the difference in delegates counts by almost everyone?  It seems if you look on CNN or other sites you see different numbers on every site.

Thanks.
Why when they talk about the popular vote lead do they not mention the caucus states? These states went overwhelmingly for Obama but they do not report popular votes like primary states do. Any claim by Clinton would force the Dem Party to factor those in and conservative estimates give Obama a lead of 2 -3 million votes; not the 700,000 number the MSM keeps talking about.
Like sand through an hour glass...time's running out Mrs. Clinton.  4036 Americans lost in Iraq...you voted for it lady and so did old "Bomb Iran" McCain.
It would be great to see Silly Hillie call it quits but she's desperate to be stroked...even if it hurts.
Obama the whiner,he should stand up and take it like a woman. All of his whiney supporters need to do the same. Go Hillary
You may think Obama is weak, but guess what he will bring it on to the Republicans.
You may think Obama is weak, but guess what he will bring it on to the Republicans.
If the Clintons, both of them, and their sometimes vicious, always outspoken campaign people can't squash Obama, you can be sure McCain won't be able to.  It's going to be Obama in the White House.  :)
I think there's something fishy going on when in all the states Hillary wins popular vote, sometime later, the delegate count is so called adjusted in Obama's favor.  I suspect some kind of fraud!
