Obama goes on offense on air

The Obama campaign is up with two new ads in Pennsylvania, starting today, one of which accuses Clinton of introducing a health-care plan that forces individuals to purchase insurance "even if they can't afford it."

In "Afford," the Obama campaign attacks the mandates in Clinton's.

"Hillary Clinton's attacking, but what’s she not telling you about her health care plan? It forces everyone to buy insurance even if you can't afford it," an announcer says.

The ad shows a highlighted section of an AP article that reads: "…willing to have workers wages garnished if they refuse to buy health care insurance."

Cutting to pictures of Obama, the announcer claims, "Barack Obama believes that it's not that people are not willing to buy healthcare, it's that they can't afford it."

A graphic shows bullet points, listing details of Obama's plan, while the voice over says that Obama's plan "reduces costs more than Hillary's."

In "Reason," the campaign highlights their endorsements from newspaper editorials across the state. "There's a reason every major newspaper has endorsed Barack Obama," the ad begins, with a list of the candidate's endorsements across the state.

The ad also highlights negative characterizations of Clinton. "The Post-Gazette calls Hillary Clinton's attacks " the cynical responses of old politics," the announcer says.

Both ads will air statewide between today and the Pennsylvania primary on the 22nd.

Obama's specifics vs Hillary's specifics

Obama puts forward a market solution to a market problem. Citiizen's can afford Health Care. Obama - so put forward regulation of industry, and subsidize people who can't afford it but leave a hole for lower class individual who can't afford Health care with the subsidies. Hillary - so mandate every body buy health care, even though it will move demand up further, cost more even with subsidies, and garnish wages of people who can't pay. Even if she leaves a hole this would be a validation of Obama's Plan.

Obama - mandate that children be covered because there are already State Level, and Federal Level child care programs that will help pay for Child care. Allow adults under 25 to continue under coverage of parents plan to allow. Hillary - attack Obama for covering children but not adults.

Obama - Allows adults freedom to chose weather they can afford Health care or not and let them go without healthcare as to not penalize them further.

I think Obama thought about his plan a little more rather then jump on the Edwards Health care bandwagon. By the way Edwards took ownership of his plan when he came out and said Mandates will be enforced. It took Hillary till February to make this statement.
If she wants to mandate Healthcare, it needs to be set up like other deductions from paychecks. There should be no garnishments whatsoever.  I am just concerned about people who don't have jobs.   Are the people with jobs paying for the healthcare of those who don't have jobs?  Will there be a cap on the cost of healthcare and prescriptions?  Will this just be for US citizens or are we paying for every tom, dick, and harry coming across the border?  It just sounds like bigger profits for the insurance companies. Wouldn't they love for everyone to be forced to buy insurance.
Hillary said, "if you can't stand the heat, get out of the kitchen.  Well even if Obama wanted something from the kitchen, he can't get it because Hillary threw everything in the kitchen at Obama...duh.  Isn't about time to talk about the issues.

Barack Obama was right with his analogy ,
They all were wrong , so why should they, " The Clintons " , have another shot at the Highest Office in the Land ??

Obama and the Country of Doom

Obama spells doom for this country.  Not only because of his dubious affiliations with mob members like Rezko and criminals like Auchi, but because of his lack of experience and bias education especially his bizarre religious affiliations.   He is like silly putty; able to change his ideas for the public as needed so as to achieve his goal as supreme leader.

His intentions are unclear, but his affiliations are clear.  Being surrounded with people like the violent Ayers, or the Hiteresque Wright, or his American hating wife Michelle, or his Kenyan half brother Islamic Jihad terrorist Abongo “Roy” Obama, or his Jewish/Israeli hating best friend Rashid Khalidi, or his close advisor Robert Malley who advocates supporting and helping the terrorist group Hamas, or Mr. McPeaks, Obama’s military advisor who open believes American Jews are the "problem." and “Christian Zionists were driving America's policy in Iraq to benefit Israel,” or Obama’s super delegate and major long term supporter Senator Meeks who openly hates and distrust all whites and gays or Obama’s most dangerous affiliation to Mr. Auchi who was Saddam Hussein right hand man and made billions in Iraq and has been a important supporter and behind the scene man throughout Obama’s rise to power.

And besides all this questionable laundry in Obama’s life, another serious question is why is Obama protected and promoted by the media?  Is this also being directed from behind the scenes?   The American public has been fooled before and I guess those in power know we can be fooled again.  (Kennedy’s assassination, Martin Luther King’s assassination, the invasion of Iraq…).

The fact that Obama has made it this far demonstrates the collective lack of discriminative intelligence and education of this country.   And nothing demonstrates this better than how well Obama plays his black card; which plays on our fear of being labeled a racist.
I heard Hillary say that she would garnish wages to force me to buy insurance, so once again, she isn't speaking the truth. What do you think "mandatory" means? By the way, we know what happens when the Clintons are running my country. (Beside NAFTA, how and when did China become "favorite"?) With mandatory insurance, do you wonder why the insurance companies and drug companies endorse and support her? Go Obama! From a white, bitter, middle aged woman.
Neither of these ads is truly negative.  One points out the factual differences between the two plans, and the newspaper endorsement ad is filled with actual quotes from those papers -- again, factual accounts.  And, to Kelly, Clinton DID admit, when pressured during an interview, that her plan did include a means of forced payment -- she would not say garnishment.  (That admission came after more than one try, just as she finally admitted -- after being asked again point blank -- that Obama IS electable.)
The next time someone tries to tell you that Obama is unpatriotic, or that he "hates America", or that he's a Muslim plant, ask yourself who would benefit from things staying exactly the same as they are now?

Gas is inching toward $4.00 a gallon, who's getting rich?

Healthcare costs are rising 12% a year, who's getting richer?

The war in Iraq is costing taxpayers 12 Billion dollars a month, who's getting richest?

Old politics tries to scare you, fool you, and make you turn away.  Old politics thinks you're stupid.  But you can tell old politics "not this time!"
It is high time he went on offensive...good job
Clinton has taken back the lead in national poll, will win PA and regain momentum.  Barry's negative ads only prove what I've said for months, he is no better than her, he portrays himself as some sort of political Messiah, but he's a wolf in sheep's clothing, just another dirty, rotten politician.  I'm not fooled.

I need Hillary's health care plan.  We deserve fair and affordable coverage for everyone, not just kids.
You go Obama!!  YES WE CAN finally get rid of the Clinton's. Please Pennsylvania, vote for the candidate best suited to take our country back from the lobbyists and finally do our business.
Only Obama can do this for us.  Hillary has been in Washington TOO long to change now.  Don't fall for her constant lies and spin.
Obama is a great politician of our generation who has transformation capacity in the society. He can transform washington politics to better lead this country uniting people of all color, race and nationality.
I watched that show today with Tim and David.Like Obama they say one thing when its in prime time and another when its not. They have been on the Obama band wagon and failed really report facts.
Obama doesn't want any more debates with Clinton,so what else he hiding. He can't handle tough questions.
Absolutely brilliant. The Obama campaign continues to make the Clinton camp look like amateurs. Obama's people set a trap for Clinton and she walked right in. They knew she wouldn't be able to resist taking after him with "can't take the heat" remarks after the debate. They waited with these ads and let her run her 'you gotta be tough' mouth. Now she is completely unable to respond to these ads lest she be seen as hypocritcal (again). Bravo to the Obama strategists.
Way to go Obama. i think the ads are straight to the point and should hit the mark.
Two words only:

Great ads :)

Does a smiley count as a word?
Baby steps...although I would prefer mandatory universal health care, I honestly feel that Obama is creating a plan that could be passed and gain support across the aisle.  After Republicans and others who do not support this realize its effectiveness after a few years of its implementation, then we will all see its merit and make it mandatory.

OBAMA/WEBB  '08
Obama fails to tell peoplle that his plan forces parents to buy insurance for their children and if you get sick and need to see a doctor, there is a penalty you have to pay which may cost more than if you would have bought insurance in the beginning. Why is Obama misleading people?
IS THE MEDIA FAIR AND UNBIASED?  If so, they will report the following story (below) vigorously, as they did before Ohio when the shoe was on the other foot.... Let's see:

At Toronto's Empire Club of Canada this week, two former US ambassadors to Canada -- one Democrat and one Republican -- debated how concerned Canadians should be that the Democratic candidates are serious about re-negotiating NAFTA.

It was the Democrat, James Blanchard, who told Canadians not to worry, according to Canadian press accounts.

Blanchard, former Governor of Michigan, is a Michigan state co-chair of Sen. Hillary Clinton's campaign, one of her major "HillRaiser" fundraisers, and served as US Ambassador to Canada during the administration of former President Bill Clinton.

Hillary Clinton has pledged to voters that she will force Canada to re-negotiate the deal or the US will opt out of it.

"I've said that I will renegotiate NAFTA, so obviously we'd have to say to Canada and Mexico that that's exactly what we're going to do," Clinton said during a recent debate. "We will opt out of NAFTA unless we renegotiate it.”

But Blanchard seemed to pooh-pooh that bold statement, telling attendees that Democrats are more concerned about China and Mexico than they are Canada.

''Their concern is job loss or unfairness in dealing with countries that have low wage and labor standards and low environmental standards,'' Blanchard said, according to the Canadian Press. ''I have not seen anything that would constitute a threat to trade with Canada."

The story said that Blanchard this week "played down her antipathy toward the free-trade deal, saying she has visited Canada many times and understands the country well."

Talk about someone saying anything to win, Obama is your man.  Hillary has stated and restated that she will not garnish wages to pay for health care.  People will only have to pay a small % of their wages and then it they still can not afford it they will be subsidized.  Obama's plan has a mandate as well, people will need to insure their children up to 25 years of age and the best he will do is give a $2,500 tax cut.  Who can get health insurance for $2,500? .

Mr Uniter, not attacker has not had to attack because he has had the MSM doing that for him or his campaign.  They sent out mailers in NH that were proven to be wrong, he said it was a mistake, but  now they are sending the same mailers out in PA..

I hope the people in PA, you know, the typical white people that are so bitter are not led like sheep to the slaughter by Obama and the MSM.  America needs PA to stop Obama in his tracks.  America is counting on you to make the right choice, the only choice for America is Hillary 08.
.
Keep in mind, Elizabeth Edwards said Hillary's plan is the ONLY plan that will cover all and if all are not covered the problem will not be solved because the people that have insurance will end up paying for the people that do not have it and end up in the ER.  You will pay twice for Obama's plan if you get insurance.  Oh then there is the question, Obama has a mandate that would force parents to buy insurance for their children up to age 25.  How did he say you would pay for that?
Hey, PatWNY - I  see you are for Hillary.  I have a suggestion - Why don't you go back to school so you can learn to spell and construct simple sentences.  Oh, Yes - you don't have time- you're working on Hillary's campaign!  Must be why non-college graduates flock to Hillary's side.  We do not need Hillary in our "Whie House", as you call it.  GO OBAMA!!
Great ads. The Barack Obama campaign is doing a great job. Brilliant! Superb strike in the middle of the weekend before the primary. It will be too late by the time the Clinton campaign can respond with a TV ad. It gives us a preview of how effective the Obama administration would be.
Hillary Clinton is and always will be a liar.  She will say or do anything to win. How will she handle Mr. Peter Paul?  The trial will be soon.
Contrary to what Clinton supporters think, Sen. Obama is not Hillary's whipping boy. If she is going to throw a punch, then Sen. Obama has every right to counter punch and defend himself. What a counter, very nice Sen. Obama, very nice indeed!

Obama 2008
These ads are great and really show who Barack Obama is.  Everyone complains that they don't know his policies.  Well, if they took the time to go to his website they would find out.

We NEED Barack Obama for the United States.  I love my country but haven't loved where it's been going lately.
With the three VERY NEGATIVE robo-calls that her campaign released today, I find comfort in these ads.

Keep standing for Change, Barack -- We're standing with you!

All but one newspaper in Pennsylvania has endorsed Senator Obama.  Senator Clinton could certainly get that one newspaper onto her advertsiement.  This is par for the course as newspapers across this Country have preferred Senator Obama to Senator Clinton by overwhelming margins.

Personally, I do not want Billary or ANYONE in government taking any of my hard-earned dollars for health care, without MY permission.  This is one those IMPORTANT issues that should have been included in Tuesday's debate, but nah, Georgie & Charly had other intentions.
NBC :  I am black and I know you guys are 10000000% for BARRACK .But please stop LYING .We need a president , a GOOD ONE .
Here's how I feel about the Democratic candidates' respective health care plans.

A national mandate on health care - for all citizens - hits the poorer working class most.  Many families choose not to carry health insurance - especially on the adults, as there are public programs for kids.  This isn't because they don't want to have it.  They just can't afford it.  Garnishing wages (presumably the only way to enforce a mandate) is a terrible choice - not least in part because employees who get garnished not only face less income, but angry bosses too.

Last year, I dropped my health insurance.  Why?  Because it was costing me about $300 per month, and I STILL had a $2500 in-market deductible.  I was scared stiff about getting sick - but if I spent $3600 of my income on premiums, I couldn't pay all my bills.

Yes, I believe all kids must have health insurance.  Again, the public programs we have will do a lot to cover children.  But requiring all Americans to be covered doesn't work.  I work in an industry where there are a lot of single people who aren't making a lot of money.  They don't want to pay 5-10% of their income for health insurance.  They're adults.  I believe that should be their choice.
It is my believe and hope that democrats both young and old will see this dem presidential contest for what it really is; two very viable contestants who will do pretty well for this country if given the opportunity. Let us collectively keep in sharp focus what the real issues are..the economy, healthcare, housing sector, war in Iraq etc. Whoever gets nominated..by hook or crook (afterall this is politics and not a tea party) should get our unequivocal support in the general election.
Some African American leaders are supporting Clinton, not because they feel she is right, rather because they feel they owe her something....probably for helping to establish their careers. And for that, some are remaining loyal despite how much her true colors have been revealed. You know how the Clintons feel about loyalty....ask Gov Richardson
Holy crapola .... people are debating HEALTH CARE again, and not stupid gaffes.  Based on that, I'd say that Obama ads are a good thing - even if you disagree with his position.

Here's my question:  Neither Clinton or Obama actually gets to make any laws.  They will be forced to work with congress to implement their proposals.  (BTW: Congress COULD add the mandate even though it's not in Obama's plan - they ARE the legislative branch after all).

Considering the fact that the democrats are unlikely get the congressional majority required to ignore several procedures (filibuster, cloture, etc.), don't you think that the GOP is going to demand input at some stage - and probably try to derail the entire process?

With this in mind, what are the actual chances of passing a health bill that included *ANY CHANCE* garnishing worker's wages if they won't buy in?  I'll tell you - NONE!

What good is a health plan that won't pass?  Actually, we already know the answer: look at the results from Clinton's last health plan .... inaction, and today's health care situation.  If the next president fails, the results will be the same: inaction.

Why the hell would we want to revisit Clinton's biggest failure to date - didn't she learn anything?
I don't really consider pointing out that most newspapers in Pennsylvania  have called your opponent negative is itself negative.

Good, Obama! It may take awhile for voters to really get what you're talking about. They're so conditioned to the kind of politics Hillary dishes out. Stay on the high road---but stay strong and go after her on the issues---and also on the vicious way she compaigns!
Clinton's health care plan will entrench us in a failed system of HMO and Insurance Company Monopolies.  Obama, like Dean, has the right idea... an interim step until we can GET THE CROOKS OUT OF CONGRESS and push for real Health Care Reform.
Good ads!  Go, Barack, go!
IF I CAN'T AFFORD HEALTH CARE DONT WANT TO HAVE MY WAGES GARNISHED!!!!!
Obama is the lowest form.  Giving empty rhetoric speaches of wanting a new kind of politics, but going lower than the lowest by playing hit and run negative false attacks on a fellow Dem'.

Democrats better hope this loser doesn't get the nomination after everybody he's been paying off and making promises to, because he is only a fraud, rank hustler with no experience to know better and I had enough of a puppet being pulled who offers charisma, Uniter and wants Corporations at his policy table.

This idiot won't ever get my vote.
It's so interesting watching these campaigns from Europe (although I almost wish I was over there to work for Obama).  But it does seem to me that this is about DEMOCRACY for a change and Barack and his supporters understand this. Wish we had the same thing here, but maybe his election will start a worldwide landslide....
All of the posts on here and every other internet site, every talk show, all of the stuff in the newspapers and on talk radio............  all of the screaming of empty catchphrases by the Obama camp..........none of it means a damn thing.

Obama is what he is..........a far left candidate who thinks that America is something to be ashamed of rather than proud of and whose answer to EVERY problem is more government.  He has done well in the Democratic primaries and his supporters have become far far too overconfident.  When November rolls around it will be an entirely different story as John Mccain wins the white house.

To those of you who don't like it......too f-ing bad.  You will have to deal with it soon.
Look at HRCs background then post something.  Obama has not lied.  The working class are hurting and I am disillusioned with big brother also.  By the way Obama was defending the working class in San Francisco saying they were not racist.  Everyone missed that part.  Yes people embrace religion when things are bad and other valid cultural issues-what is left to them?  Be real, anyway Obama is well on the way to wining anyway so just accept the inevidable.
Obama 08
Adwatch:Obama ads promote health care, endorsenents by the Associated Press 12 hrs ago 4/20/08 Airing  Pennsylvania. Script announcer.:Hillary Clintons attacking, but not telling you about her health care plan? It forces everyone to buy insurance, even if you cant afford it,and pay a a penalty.,ETC." The spin:"Obama and Clinton has tangled, but the KEY DIFFERENCE (in short) individual" mandate,"requires everyone to purchase Health care the way most states require auto insurance Obama does not.THE SPIN:Obama "I'am Barack Obama and i approve this message."(i did not copy all words to shorten message)Obamas plan focuses on bring cost down the cost of coverage,(etc) Clinton has argued the only way to bring cost of insurance down is to require everyone to have it". Clinton has claimed repeatedly that Obamas plan wouls leave 15 million people without insurance.Still Obama's ad is somewhat misleading. Clinton has never said people wouls be "forced" to buy coverage they can't afford.(etc.)(sentance from last pargraph second sentance)But the Obama campaign is engaging in exaggerations and jump to misleading conclusions, based based on her musing on a single television show SCRIPT:There is a reason every major newspaper's endorsed Barack Obama ,He knows how to bring people together , he ready-says the Inquire ,The Post Gazette calls Hillary Clinton's attack the 'cynical responses of old politics'She'd further the deep divisveness in our country,(cont to say" refer to article)By using a newspapers criticism of Clintons Obama seeks to put some distance between himself and criticism she represents and old politics Its a third-party validation of characterizations Obama probably wouldn't dispute. At the same time Obama essentially is telling voters not just to take his word for it that he's the candidate but rather take the word of their local news sources. Analysis by Associated Press writers Beth Fouhy and liz Sidoti.I patty did not compose any of the wording, not every sentence was used to condence the article        "Clinton Obama Trade SHOTS ON health Care plans FOX NEWS 15 hrs ago posted on web site 04/20/08

He said, she said.  Obama needs to stop whining and stick to the substantive issues, but I guess he can't, because after that last debate it showed he had no knowledge of economics 101. He is still hiding behind his message of change on how he is going to change Washington, but change Washington from what to what?  As for special interests, he has the largest bundlers which he will have to answer to should he become the President.

Obama talks about being raised by a single mom, lies. He was with both parents up until the age of two, then with his rich grand parents until age six. His grandmother was vice-president of a Seattle Bank, grandfather managed a furniture store.  They sent him to school right up to Occidental College. He also lived with his stepfather who was employed by Exxon oil in Jakarta. Obama knows nothing about being impoverished.
