Clinton camp's PA robocall attacks

From NBC's Lauren Appelbaum
HUNTINGDON VALLEY, Pa. -- The Clinton campaign is using robocalls to tell Pennsylvanians Obama is not the candidate for them. In less than 24 hours, voters living in Lower Moreland Township of Montgomery County received three calls from the Clinton campaign, two attacking Obama and one advertising Bill Clinton's event in Fort Washington on Friday.

"In his TV ads, Barack Obama sounds like he'll take on the oil companies," a male voice tells voters in the first attack call. "What he doesn't tell you is that he voted for the Bush-Cheney energy bill, a bill that's been called the best bill energy corporations could buy. Every gallon of gas takes over three bucks from your pocket. So, why would Barack Obama vote for a Bush-Cheney energy bill that has put six billion in the pockets of big oil? Enough talk. It's time for action. Hillary Clinton will take on big oil and she has the experience to get it done."

The second call attacks Obama on his healthcare plan: "Pennsylvania families cannot afford Barack Obama," a stern female voice says. "Barack Obama's health care plan fails to deliver health care for every American, just what the HMO's and pharmaceutical companies want. What's more, Sen. Obama's healthcare plan imposes a $900 hidden tax on families. That's $900 more than anyone should have to pay to stay healthy. Pennsylvania families need a leader they can count on and a fighter who will deliver."

The call advertising Bill Clinton's event in the area was recorded by a woman with an upbeat, sweet-sounding voice, in contrast to the more pointed voices attacking Obama.

Voters in the area also received a call from the Obama campaign during this time. However, it was simply to promote his rally in Philadelphia Friday evening.

First Read will keep you updated with any more calls from the campaigns to this Philadelphia suburb.

Obama is change we don't want or need.
GO HILLARY !!! - At least her ads are factual - not like obama's new ARROGANT AD Obama - President
NOT!  That one will be pulled due to false advertising.
Obama will not win due to his radical friends and questinable background - the real media will investigate into this.
The Clinton camp cannot afford TV spots so they resort to annoying telephone calls which people hate.

Sorry guys, it won't work your 15 point lead has shrunk to 5 and will continue to shrink as April 22nd nears.  At first I was a Clinton supporter who knew little about Obama, I kept hearing the name, saw the early debates and liked what I saw, something inside of me stirred up like never before, I felt for the first time in my life that a politician was actually talking to me and understood people in general.  He understands that nobody is perfect but that we should strive to make our lives and everything around us better.  I am with you Obama.  You have my belief, you have my money and you most certainly have my vote.
For the love of God, get this woman away from me. I can't stand reading about her half truths and hypocrasies...I can't stand seeing her sneering bobble head on the stump...I can't stand her invading my own home by telephone when I've finally logged off and unplugged the cable television to get away from all things Clinton.

If I wanted to vote for you, I'd just do it already. I wouldn't need a robo call like I don't need the five million webupdates from your campaign, like I don't need another commercial.

If I was going to vote for you, I'd do it because I agree with all of your policies and your plans. But I don't. All I had to do was go to your website and Obama's website, read both of your policies and decide. I did that and I decided there's no way in Pennsyltucky that I'm voting for you.

So. Just. Go. Away.
Clinton burn down the village approach if I can not win, just that she does not care about the Democratic Party.

Obama stands above the crowded noise
What a great way to irritate the bejesus outta voters. Three robo-calls in 24 hours??? No wonder she's slipping rapidly.
HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!!!!!

"Every gallon of gas takes over three bucks from your pocket."

One of the reasons for skyrocketing oil and gas prices is all of the money that hedge funds are dumping into commodities trading.

Doesn't Chelsea Clinton work for a hedge fund, Avenue Capital?
See a style difference?  Something about attacking robocalls, smear, smear, while Obama just invites people to a rally?

Why doesn't Obama smear Hillary?  He has enough to do it.

Style difference.  Class.

This article speaks for itself.

For Americans out of the U.S., it's easy to guage views of non-Americans.  They're mainly for Obama, with few exceptions.  Americans overseas voted 2-1 for Obama in the primary.  Still, foreign people ask us to explain the unceasing attacks as part of our election process.  It's embarrassing.

I don't understand why comparitive direct advertising is such a big deal.  States want to host primaries and the people in these states understand that having a contested primary held in their state is going to mean lots of political contact and a lot of good business.....don't think that every printer and small town radio station owner doesn't love the extra business these primaries bring....

So maybe someone could fill me in....

While your at it, tell me why it is negative to ask the voter to draw a comparison....  Why is it negative to comment on statements a candidate has made that arer inconsistent with observed behavior?
Hillary is pathetic!  Does she think people will really respond to that negativity?  I hope Pennsylvania voters make it really clear who the leader of our country should be--someone positive, articulate, and courageous.

Obama 08!!!
Good call on the Clinton campaign, we all know how effective robo-calls are.
GO HILLARY !!! You will WIN
OBAMA IS ARROGANT!!!!
His False Ads have been pulled Good, and he has spent 3 X as much $$$$$ - what a waste.
Wait till you see the 527 ads the GOP will do - I have - a spin on Obama's name - does that name even sound American?????  He needs to SADDLE UP!
Please people of Pennsylvania just remeber one thing when Bill Clinton and Hillary talk to you.  He passed NAFTA the reason you state has had such a hard time.  That should be the hook that tells the people why reward Hillary for something she helped her husband with.  Of course she will say she did not agree.  NAFTA has been your problem, yet the people must have forgot.
Hillary Clinton is the only candidate that willbe able to lead us out of the mess that we are in.  She has the know how and experience.  Sure Obama gives a good speech that mesmerizes people.  He's in his element then, but when he's not in a prepared situation, his lack of experience shows.
Obama's healthcare plan isn't universal.... just ask John and Elizabeth Edwards....

I don't like my taxes going up b/c uninsured people use the emergency room and can't pay their bills

I think Hillary's plan will take care of that
This is a complete stupidity and non-sense! The clinton family will do and say anything to get elected.
I hope she will not get elected in the senate again.
I am not a supporter of obama, I just don't like him but he deserves to be a president.
Media stop the maddness and outrage by the clintons.
IN MY OPINION THE REASON WHY THE MAJORITY OF DEMOCRATIC DELEGATES AND SUPER DELEGATES HAVE NOT RALLIED BEHIND SENATOR CLINTON IS BECAUSE THEY THINK….SENATOR OBAMA- IF NOMINATED WILL EASILY BEAT SENATOR MCCAIN, SO THEY ARE HEDGING THEIR BETS. THEY THINK THAT WITH THE ECONOMY AND THE INTERNATIONAL CRISIS IN THE SHAPE THAT IT IS IN, COMBINED WITH HIS AGE---THAT HE WILL BE AN EASY TARGET COME NOV. THUS THEY FEEL WITH SENATOR OBAMA’S APPEAL TO THE YOUNGER VOTER AND THE AFRICAN AMERICAN VOTER, THE DEMOCRATIC S HAVE A TREMENDOUS CHANCE OF TAKING THE WHITE HOUSE IN 08. I BELIEVE, THERE REASONING IS FLAWED…FIRST, LIKE IT OR NOT, THE REPUBLICANS WILL RALLY BEHIND SENATOR MCCAIN, EVEN WITH MIS-GIVING’S. SECOND, THOUGH IT MAY “APPEAR” THAT THE REPUBLICANS DON’T CARE IF THEY LOOSE THE WHITE HOUSE IN 08, DON’T BET THE FARM ON IT….I DON’T DOUBT FOR A MOMENT THAT THERE ARE SO VERY MANY SECRETS, SECRET DEALS AND HAPPENINGS THAT HAVE TAKEN PLACE OVER THE PAST 8 YEARS….UNKNOWN TO THE AMERICAN PUBLIC, AND THE REPUBLICANS ARE IN NO WAY GOING TO RISK THESE BEING EXPOSED. SENATOR MCCAIN, KNOWS GOING INTO THIS, AS DOES THE REPUBLICAN PARTY, THAT HE, IF ELECTED WILL SERVE A ONE YEAR TERM, SIMPLY BECAUSE OF HIS AGE IF NOTHING ELSE. THUS A STRONG, APPEALING VICE-PRESIDENTIAL RUNNING MATE WILL ALLOW THE PARTY TO POSITION ITSELF FOR THE 0-12 ELECTIONS. FOLKS, YOU HAVE SEEN IN THE PAST HOW THE REPUBLICANS WIN ELECTIONS…THIS SCENARIO IS NOT UNREALISTIC. IN ORDER FOR SENATOR OBAMA TO BEAT SENATOR MCCAIN, HE WILL NOT ONLY NEED ALL HIS EXISTING SUPPORT, BUT THE SUPPORT OF ALL OF SENATOR CLINTONS FOLKS, ALONG WITH A MAJORITY OF THE SO-CALLED REAGAN DEMOCRATS AND INDEPENDENTS….A MIGHTY TASK TO ASSUME. I SAY THIS NOT BECAUSE I AM AGAINST SENATOR OBAMA, I SAY THIS BECAUSE I BELIEVE THIS IS THE REPUBLICAN GAME-PLAN. WITH ALL DUE RESPECT, SENATOR OBAMA IS INTELLIGENT, ABLE, AND SINCERE….BUT HE BRINGS THE REV WRIGHT ALONG WITH HIM, AND THE “ILL-PLACED” COMMENT OF HIS WIFE ABOUT “FINALLY BEING PROUD TO BE AN AMERICAN” AND THE REPUBLICANS WILL POUND HIM TO DEATH ON THIS ISSUE AND OTHER ISSUES. PLUS THE FACT THAT HIS RESUME’ IS SHORT ON EXPERIENCE. WHILE SENATOR CLINTON HAS HER FAULTS, SHE HAS BEEN EXPOSED TO THE REPUBLICAN ATTACK MACHINE MOST ALL HER LIFE AND I BELIEVE SHE IS IN A BETTER POSITION TO HANDLE THE ONSLAUGHT OF THE ENTIRE REPUBLICAN PARTY COME NOVEMBER… SO AS JACK CAFFERTY WOULD SAY....WHAT ARE SENATOR OBAMA'S SUPPORTERS GOING TO SAY OR FEEL, SHOULD HE WIN THE NOMINATION BUT LOSE THE GENERAL ELECTION? AT ONE POINT IN TIME, THE REPUBLICAN PARTY LOOKED FORWARD  TO A CLINTON SHOWDOWN COME NOVEMBER-------NOW ---THEY PRAY FOR SENATOR OBAMA. FOLKS WAKE-UP, WITH ALL DIE RESPECT SENATOR OBAMA WILL NOT WIN BACK THE WHITE HOUSE, IF YOU WANT A DEMOCRAT A PRESIDENT COME 08, YOU'D BEST PUT ASIDE YOUR PERSONAL DISLIKE OF SENATOR CLINTON AND SUPPORT HER NOMINATION. I DO NOT SAY THIS SOLELY AS A SUPPORTER OF HERS, I SAY THIS WITH A INNER GUT FEELING, THAT SHE IS OUR ONLY CHANCE TO WIN, PLEASE CONSIDER THIS WHEN YOU VOTE.
this has gone from bad to worse. a noted political observer last night said that the Clinton campaign would come up with something big by Sunday morning, this probably is not it. I suspect they will move on the stories about the Joyce Foundation (already starting on politico), claiming Obama is a closet gungrabber and lying abou 2nd amendment. Check out the Joyce Foundation site to get the real scope. We are in for a turbulent ride. Slash and burn time
I know Clinton and her surrogates are going on tv claiming that nobody has to worry about her nasty campaigning and assuring everybody that all good Dems will rally around whoever is the nominee. I must say that was true for me (and my husband) a few months ago, but now we are just beginning to see Hillary's true colors. (no matter how much she says she has been vetted. Maybe Washington insiders know her, but we didn't).  We never knew that she was a bald-faced liar and how little respect she had for the voters and a litany of other issues.  I would never vote for a Republican, but I will vote for Barack Obama whether or not his name is printed on the ballot.
What planet are the clintons living on?The days of negative campaigning are over.Would someone please give hillary the memo.
I was watching Tim Russert today along with NBC's Chuck Todd and David Gregory.  I think Chuck Todd has it correct, should Barrack Obama not be given the nomination there will be a dishevel of the democratic party and hundred of thousands of democratic voters disband and leave the party.  The hatred for Hillary is that severe.
Go ahead, Hillary, attack with robo calls.  Tell lies.  Do you really think people enjoy your robo calls?
If I get (got) a robocall from a candidate, and I was undecided, it is almost certain that I would vote for the the other candidate.  I have a real strong dislike for that types of campaigning.
Great, good ol' robocall attacks! Gotta love those slick little Clinton attacks.

Thankfully, this thing is going to be over on Tuesday.

Hillary!! We're not stupid.
What, she couldn't get Karl Rove to make the calls for her?
Silly season can end any time now.  This is embarrassing for America.
Hillary is an "experienced" liar in all venues, the latest incantation in the form of "robocalls."
The straws keep getting shorter for Clinton.

It's good to see Democrats so motivated!!

The Republican Party MUST fall in Nov.
Democrats in 08.......
Well, when you have news reporters like Andrea Mitchell who was well aware of the lies Hillary was spewing-----and didn't come forward, the average citizen tend to believe in Hillary.  Why assist with corruption?
I heard that Robo calls really "tick" people off.
RoBO calls are the most intrusive way to campaign.  Dialing and tieing up a persons phone by calling unsolicited should not be utilized.  Of course HillaryJanus" Clinton has no other way to go but negative utilizi govian tactics.
That is the reason she has a high negative, always peddling lies. She cannot be trusted, the presidency is not an entitilement that America owes her.
Negative Robocalls - The Hallmark of a Campaign that's on its way to Victory?
The death bells are ringing Hillary, time to face the music.
Mommy & Daddy Clinton know what's best for us.

Why do we not understand this? What is wrong with us ingrates anyway.

We need a strong parental hand...upside our heads...and they are ready to step into the GWB, Republican shoes to see we get it.
Go away Hilary.  Why don't you spend some of your $100+ million on etiquette classes, ethics lessons, and anger management. The American people are tired of your political tricks.  We are smarter than you think.  We don't fall for your negative tactics and your lies anymore.  Buh Bye Hilary.  Obama has my vote!!!!!!!!
Once again, this great man takes the high road. Hillary Clinton and John McCain are both trying to slam him with trivial, meanless nothings.  Aren't  they comparing notes and realizing this is not working very well for either of them?  The voters don't want this- we have been at war for 7 years internationally!!  The last thing we want is a bloody political war within our country.  We just want a leader who will restore what we've lost these past 7 years.  And I'm sorry, but the way Hillary and now McCain have been going about politics is just NOT what we want!  Cut it out- talk issues and stop hardening us even further with all of this nastiness.  We've seen too much of it for too long, and we don't want it anymore!!!
Hilary gives me a major headache, unrelenting nausea, and that political malaise and unsettled  feeling.  She depresses me to no end.  Barack, on the other hand, gives me endless energy, hope and a healthy attitude for my future.  He makes me feel like a million bucks!!!!!!!!!!!
Who listens to robocalls?  I would be insulted if a campaign called my home and didn't have a live person on the other end.  It's an invasion of privacy.
Leave it to Clinton to rely on robocalls spewing lies, whoops "misstatements".  I'm sure all the hard-working people in PA and across the country will be very interested in Clinton's statements about how little she really thinks of them.  Once again, Hillary shows that does NOT care about America, she does NOT care about the American people, she ONLY cares about Hillary and her crazed need for power.
.....older white female who long ago broke through the glass ceiling, really supports women AND men looking to improve themselves, and is far too intelligent to ever support Hillary.
Obama also garnered another SD, Dem State Chairman Steve Achelpohe, of Omaha, today.
Who thought it was a good idea to have a Bill Clinton campaign appearance announced by a sweet sounding female voice? Sheesh.
The Clintons are as devious as people get.  Their actions are shameful.  They claim to love our country but would stop at nothing to get what they want!  They have no shame and care about no one but themselves.  They lie frequently without any shame.  They are a disgrace to our nation and former presidents.
Obama has been using robocalls for months.  Why no first read on that.  He is using them now.

Obama = not ready for the general election.
Hillary's is the better healthcare plan. If Barack wins the whole prize he'd be a fool not to adopt it. His plan has so many loopholes it will just encourage little support. It's an idea. It's not an idea that will work.
The Clinton campaign has BEEN using robocalls - in every state. I guess they are afraid to speak to a human voice that might ask questions, unlike the Obama phonebankers who actually spend time talking to people and answering questions.
Oh MY ... The Clintons playing dirty .. what a shocker !
Did the Clinton camp remember to include their menacing music backdrop for those calls?  I hope so.  We were so looking forward to the next installment of FEAR AND CONFUSION.
Hillary Clinton is a liar!
