Obama: Forget a 'dream ticket'

Posted: Tuesday, April 22, 2008 9:09 AM by Mark Murray

The New York Times: “Imagine President Barack Obama is preparing his first State of the Union message. Would he want Vice President Hillary Rodham Clinton tut-tutting with edits or suggesting how she could write it better? Would he want to hear Second Spouse Bill Clinton wax on and on about favorite lines from his own speeches?”

More: “All that stands in the way are a few pesky details — like the fact that Mr. Obama and Mrs. Clinton want to be done with each other, starting now. And that Mr. Clinton bitterly believes that the Obama camp has portrayed him as a brutish, race-baiting campaigner, according to two associates of Mr. Clinton. On top of that, Obama aides assert, Mrs. Clinton’s baggage would damage Mr. Obama’s image in a New York minute. And they also believe that the Clinton camp’s negative tone seems a poor match for Mr. Hope.”

Obama will be in Indiana tonight -- not Pennsylvania -- and with him will be “Small Town” friend John Mellencamp, once a big Edwards backer.

Imagine, Obama can kiss our backsides come the general election. (IF he's the nominee)
I voted at 7:45 am. Now I wait with the rest of you.

YES WE CAN!
Cut the cord and stand up for independence from liars and corruption...

Smart move...

There are a lot of reasons, not the least of which is her baggage and then the Bill factor...he's a lose cannon.  Just what you need in the White House.

A big WOOT for John Mellencamp!

Obama for our best future.
Rendell with Farrakhan

The Hill supporters need to wake up. You vote for McSame and the country will go to hell. Just admit Hill ran a horrible campaign. She hasnt paid her bills, she is in debt, people now hate her, she throws democrats under the bus, she wants to NUKE people etc..
Is she a GOP candidate???
She plays Bin Laden card
Yea Barack Obama!
Yea John Mellencamp!

Boo MSM...not a word about the Farakan/Rendell/Clinton "association"
Guess threre is a double standard about these kinds of things. Don't count on th Main Stream Media to make your decision...THINK!!! "If you want a good cool drink of water you gotta dig a little deeper in the well..."
What does Senator Clinton's proposed Middle East umbrella alliance say about her stated intent to withdraw American troops from Iraq? Has she misspoken in claiming to have changed from her vote for the Iraq war?

Expanding the Iraq war is more than sniper fire.

Is Senator Clinton's representation of her intentions in Iraq like the Bush-Chaney representation of their justification for starting the war?
The sooner Silly Hillie is out of the nat'l spotlight the better.  Her recent comments concerning nuclear response by the U.S. are very troubling.  Nuclear warfare is unjustifiable even if it is possible.  Her comments reveal more of her hawkish internals and say anything to gain power attitude.  I hope Sen. Obama selects Jim Webb or Phil Bredesen for VP
I   have always felt that this would be a match made in Hell! As an Obama supporter, I am hoping that he can pull this off, as I feel that he will be  better able to  reunite the Democratic Party quickly, which will be imperative, given this protracted primary season and the impending November general election. Also, I believe that he will be able to restore our good standing in the world, which was so markedly eroded during the Bush administration. Though the Clnton camp has tried to portray Obama as a narrow-minded , condescending elitist and solely a "black  candidate, the truth is that Obama is himself a "melting pot" of mixed ethnicities and experiences. YES, HE CAN be a uniter!
Hillary would be better as Senate Majority Leader anyway.  She's a policy person through and through.  She'd do far better promoting her policies and getting them through congress as SML than as President.  It would suit her talents far better.
Dear Hillary Supporters:

Saving you all a seat, love to work with you, we'll have to C-O-M-P-R-O-M-I-S-E . . . it's a hot new concept in governing, it involves give and take and putting the ultimate goal ahead of individual interests . . . it's been shown to be very effective . . . how about we give it a try?

Is Bill Clinton so delusional to think that Obama's campaign has cast him as racist, not his own tactics?  Who does he think he's fooling?  I don't even know a single Clinton *supporter* willing to make that ludicrous argument.
When I was at my poling place today, my son's new registration was not there! I had changed from indy to dem, and registered him at the same time. I got my confirmation weeks ago but his never came. Please pray that there is nothing fishy afoot.

Also, Rendell changed the voting process. We have to vote for the delegates individually, as well as, vote for our candidate. I live in the suburbs, and voted using an electronic polling device, which made everything quite clear, (Obama's dels featured his name with theirs), but I'm concerned that in less affluent communities, people may have to have prior information as to their candidates pledged delegates.
This feels awfully slippery on Rendell's part.

Lastly, now I know why Rendell looked so upset when he was caught on camera after Hillary invoked her Farrakhan attack on Obama at the debate last Wednesday. He was afraid it would come back to haunt his own involvment with good 'ole Louie.

Am I the only one who remembers the Bush rhetoric eight years ago? Obama'a rhetoric is no different. I cannot wait to hear what people are saying about him after he has been president for a while. Given his track record with taking the middle of the road on everything...it should be interesting.

Once Hillary is out and the democrats have proven they cannot pick a candidate, yet again...My husband and I (both upper middle class, educated voters) will be switching to the Independent party.

Bill is proving that he can not stand the heat.

Friday is the day for setting the fraud trial date in Peter Paul vs Clinton.  The trial will likely start in October just before the GE.

Yep! I can see more years of distraction.  Who cleans up after Bush-Clinton-Bush?
Obama does NOT need HRC to rally up the Republican base in the general.  He does not need both Hill and Bill's egos and lies in the WH with him.  He does NOT need her baggage.  And, if he were to choose her as a running mate, he WOULD need a food taster.  Sorry to say, but true.

Come on, PA!  Put this to rest!!!

GObama!
Thank you Donna! I hope and pray a couple of million of your fellow residents vote for our next President as well. How sweet it would be to surprise the world with an upset victory tonight and lock up the nomination.

Typical white male
49 years old
for our only hope "Obama 08"
A combo ticket of these two would be total hypocrisy-it's obvious how they feel about each other. Although I'm still hopeful for the Democrats this year this primary cycle has turned me off from politics.
Signed, another middle aged white woman for Obama!
The John Edwards endorsement is coming really soon, I can feel it. Just before NC, Edwards will endorse Obama!!

Can he cast a provisional ballot Donna?

Yes, a little scary that PA Dems are bragging about new registrations yet, things may not be on the up and up :(.

Keep the faith...
Obama's not going to need your backside...no matter how wide it is...Dem's will need to unite...and vote to stop McShame the War Monger
America is done with the Clintons. It's time to move on.
Dear Lisa, Sadly, Obama needs to talk the middle somewhat to get elected. WIth all the fear in this country of true change, baby steps are better than backward steps.

Okay, you go first.
The two year Junior Senator from Illinois can wait his turn and run for President after he serves a few more years in the senate.
Get behind Hillary and help her win The White House after she takes her victory at our brokered convention in Denver.

We say, "YES, Hillary Can!"
NOBama cannot.
Other than that, you can kiss our rear ends.
Have a nice day.
Sorry, but I'm confused on exactly who said what in this post.  Sounds like another misleading headline to me First Read!!
I had Democratic Ballot #00004 at 7:05 this morning! And was voter #6 overall in a mainly Republican District.  I realize it was too early to draw any conclusions from that, but I do find it interesting that the Democrats beat the Republicans to the polls this morning.

An interesting point: I work in a small office in Susquehanna County, and all of the Republicans that I work with voted for Ron Paul!! HMMMMM?
Hillary Clinton has turned this Democratic process into the worst possible primary of all times.  Because she is so desperate and paranoid about losing.  She doesn't care about the American people only about herself.  That's why many former Clintonites are endorsing Obama.  Come on people, let's get on board and vote for Obama in Pennsylvania.  YES, WE CAN!  Sen. Obama 2008
