Delegate update: More PA numbers

NBC News has updated its Pennsylvania pledged delegate count. Clinton now has an 80-71 split with seven delegates still to be allocated.

Keep in mind, however, that when the counting is done, Clinton will likely net more than that.

Obama now leads by 157 in the pledged delegate count: 1,488-1,331

Factoring in the superdelegate count (Clinton 262, Obama 238), Obama leads by 133 overall: 1,726-1,593.

We need to rechannel and focus our energy on talking to the good people of North Carolina and Indiana, particularly Indiana.

In North Carolina, unaffiliated voters are permitted to vote in the Democratic primary. Early voting in NC has already begun. Latest Real Clear Politics Average Poll shows Obama leading by a margin of +15.5 as of April 22.

In Indiana, unaffiliated voters are also permitted to vote in the Democratic primary. Latest Real Clear Politics Average Poll shows Clinton leading by a slim margin, +2.2, as of April 22.

After taking time to post your comment (and some of them are pretty darn good and on point), please take the extra step and take time to make phone calls. The good people of Indiana, North Carolina, West Virginia, Oregon and Kentucky need to hear from you. Forget the MSM - Be your own sound bite!

Please go to the "Make Calls" link on Senator Obama's website and inspire people to come out in support of Barack.

It is on us to start making the change we say we desire!
Can someone do something about the misleading rounding? If Obama were to pick up a spread of 4535 in the remaining districts (entirely possible as it is Philadelphia and Delaware county - essentially the outlying votes come in at the same ratio), Obama picks up an extra 0.2%. It doesn't seem like much but now Obama has 45.6% and Clinton has 54.4%. By your standards then, the vote spread is 54% Clinton and 46% Obama - an 8% Clinton victory not 10%.
I think the post from "Dance puppets dance" should be circulated to the Superdelegates --Some of us who love our party and this Country more than the Clinton name have been saying she can't be McCain for a LONG time now!
The real "clinging" voters in this election are the Clinton-backing women, determined to elect a female - any female - regardless of her qualities. There is a sizable chunk of HRC support that actually believes this is important.

It might be smart for Obama to spend some serious TV face-time with KS governor Kathleen Sibelius (if she's agreeable), suggesting her as a likely VP choice. Sibelius on his ticket would likely satisfy many of those for whom having a female on the ticket is a big deal, and we'd all get a fantastic veep in the deal.
about the delegates yesterday i am glad that at least Clinton won as Obama does not really fit the picture, i saw one of him with Clinton and some other dignitaries with the American Flag everybody had their hand on their chest showing their respect for the flag except Obama who was turning away from it, that questions my fidelity towards the country, is he running for his glory or for the country? and what about the comments of his wife has everybody forgotten that, that she is for the first time proud to be an American did she forget that the States paid for her education?if that is the first lady we want too represent our country i for one don't.surely he has alot of the black community support after all he represents them but the States is not all black, you got to look at the whole picture of the country.i hope that Clinton keeps on winning i think that for one she will make a great president a first in the States and a scary thought for the big boys who always that it their ways.
I totally agree with the comments to Howard Dean... I am a Democrat who is thoroughly disgusted with my party. With a Repub. Pres who has among the lowest ratings ever for a Pres. and they may not walk away with the election in Nov.  They are going to lose to a 70 something man who says he will continue to follow the policies of Bush...and we're quibbling over who has what pastor and who dodged bullets...no wonder the republicans are laughing at us..Howard Dean didn't even raise an eyebrow when he heard of Rush L. plan to have repub. change party affliation to muck up the primaries...and it's been reported (though obscurely) that many many have done it...I am ashamed of our leaders...cowards, cowards...power means more to them then righteousness...Sen. Obama, I'm afraid we prob. don't deserve you. we seem to want this collision course with disaster.
Err I'm reading here that her win was less than 9 points.  Umm since when is 55 percent to 45 percent less than 9 points.  Some folks need to go back to school.  Her win is very impressive given the money he spent.  She would have the Popular vote were Florida and Mich counted. She has the Superdelagate lead.  She'd only be behind by approximately 60 to 70 Delagates were the two discounted states added with 9 states to go.  The truth is Hillary is the better canidate.  The facts are quite hard to overlook.  Hillary not only won every big state that normally votes Dem in the Pres race but won big in them. Obama racked up wins in the south which for about the past 6 elections hasn't come close to voting for a Democrat.  Obama will not win a single southern state in Nov.  How the heck can he win any Pres election if he can't even win the big states?  Don't presume that Dems will vote for him if he wins the nomination.  Hillary is far to popular in Pa, NY and Ohio.  If it comes to choosing McCain or Obama in those states and Hillary is not on the ticket I will bet you every dollar I have Dems go to McCain out of spite more than anything.  Obama cannot win.  Period.  You all need to study elections and understand how states traditionally vote to understand why he can't.
Um CNN, ABC, NBC, CBS, Fox all list Hillary's win 55% to 45% and say it is a ten point margin of victory.  You mathmeticians can do all your calculating on the vote and bring it to an exact number but the win will be listed permenently as a 10 point margin of victory.  So you can stop with your Obamaesque reporting and efforts to try to diminish her win.  It was a huge win.  A 10 point win.  End of story.
its to bad that the people of PA were duped into voting for the witch hillary.  Real good idea talking about nuking another country Hillary(Iran).  Starting to look like Hillary as well as old Mccain would be a 3rd bush term.  If hillary steals nomination I will not vote for either.  Obamma should still win though but hillary is trying to tear him down so he can't win the general  And  how can the exit polls suddenly change almost an hour after the vote ended on cnn they started with obama winning the male vote by like 6-7 points vote was 58-42 women over men it changes to 59-41 women over men obamma only winning male vote by 4 points how does that happen maybe that should be investigated
I think Obama picked up 4 more superdelegates today (OK governor and 3 NC congressmen). Let's update that total too!
Here’s a middle class older white woman’s spin for what it is worth.  DO YOU HAVE CHILDREN? Well you better get them passports fast.  We have McCain singing “Bomb Bomb Bomb Iran” to Beachboys rendition of Barbara Ann.  We have Clinton saying NUKE IRAN.  America is in two wars right now where the troops are spread thin and some are there for their third or fourth time.  Just recently the Armed Forces is now taking felons since they can not get enough of our children, husbands and wives to sign up.

WAKE UP AMERICA – we will be in a third war – probably starting WWIII if we back these candidates.  Don’t come back crying when it happens.  And don’t come back crying when they re-institute the draft and take away our kids.

Obama is not perfect; he does not walk on water.  However, he is the only one that seems to be interested in talking with all world leaders (leaders not terrorists).

These are American lives we are talking about – sons, daughters, husbands, wives, and friends.  Give PEACE A CHANCE!  Vote Obama.
Clinton keeps asking, "Why can't he win big states?" The answer is simple and crystal clear. Why isn't any one talking about the elephant in the room? It's a race issue. Blue-collar, uneducated voters are stuck in the past where stereotypes and racism loom. This group is unwilling to vote for the best candidate who also happens to be African American. Let us talk about racism.
All of you people on this blog are stupid, what do you mean Obama can't close the gap the man is leading in popular and pledge delegates.  This man has already close this gap the superdelegates need to step up and end this mess now Hillary has no way of winning this election no matter how many states that are left.  All of the CIVIL RIGHTS LEADERS NEED TO GET READY FOR A FIGHT IN THE DEMOCRATIC PARTY.  Blacks in this country are not going to stand by and take this any longer.  What do The Clintons think we are going to let them go in a back room and start making backroom deals and steal the election from Senator Obama not this time Blacks in this country will not stand by and take it this time around.  People of all races across this country have voted and Senator Obama is winning.  If the superdelegates give this nonimee to Hillary I guarantee she will never see another day in the whitehouse because all blacks across this country will not vote for her and she can't win without the blacks in this country.
I am perfectly happy to accept a fair Primary election where my candidate (Obama) does not win.  For all of the fairly cast votes in PA, I congratulate Senator Clinton, and am happy to continue to other States.

That said, I will not stand for a Party that includes unfair advantage.  I will not stick around for a discussion of allowing the votes from Florida or Michigan to change the total count.  I don't have a single voting friend or family member who spoke differently on this issue.

This week, even my most die-hard party-loyalist friends have turned their backs on Hillary Clinton forever.  She will not win the Presidency this time or any other time because she has lost even the least little bit of respect left from any party activist not already 'married' to her as a candidate.

Here's what it was in case Clinton fans might want to ask her to cut it out:

1.  saber rattling against Iran (an important Dick Scaife issue).

2.  the Dick Scaife "endorsement" (complete with his group of political pinkertons . . . including Rove).

3.  the NC GOP ad . . . and we are not interested in hearing the lie that this is the Republicans . . . it's Scaife and Clinton.

So, here are the 'demands' I'm making in the name of serious activists.

1.  Retract hateful hypothetical statements about Iran.  Commit to diplomacy with Iran, which *of course* will include conversations with their leaders.

2.  Denounce and reject the following endorsements:  Dick Scaife, Ann Coulter and Rush Limbaugh.

3.  Pull the NC GOP ad NOW!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Obama spent 3 times more than Hillary in PA and still got his butt kicked.

He has a lot of explaining to do - LOSES CA, FL, OH, TX, NJ, NY and now PA.

Democrats cannot win in November without OH, FL and PA.  And Obama cannot win those states.

Yes, we can.....

No, you can't.....

If you are so dillusional to think that just because he didn't win the primary that he won't win in the general election, then you should be committed.  I would love to have a talk with a group of blue collar workers that won't vote for Barack Obama if he is the nominee.  He is a MUCH BETTER alternative to the same old Bush politics which only look after the wealthiest.
Why are all the pundits saying what is wrong with Obama. The good people of Pa. voted for Sen. Clinton. There is nothing wrong with that she is a qualified candidate, however, the overall choice is Obama because many more states have chose him. Please stop the divisivness and someone please combat Republican "Morning Joe" and his chronie Pat Buchanan for their divisive remarks.
one hangs out with terrorists!
the other one lies like no one else I know!
this is the best that the democratic party has to offer?
Hello President McCain!
I was disappointed  that Obama didn't knock Hillary out of the race.  The way she fights and lies against this good man is depressing.  I use to admire Hillary a great deal now I feel only pity and disgust for her.  I think she has the right to keeping running against Obama; however, I feel that she should get some scruples and put the party's need for unity before her own selfish ambition to be the first woman president.  Furthermore, I feel I would rather see Condolezza or Peloski become the first female presidents rather than Hillary.
