North Carolina GOP chairwoman Linda Daves just said on MSNBC that the state party's TV ad -- linking Obama with Rev. Wright -- won't be airing until NEXT WEEK...

To us, this seems to be even more evidence that the ad is -- and has always been -- a publicity stunt to raise money.

Games-playing in campaigning. I suspect that there are some election junkies that eat this stuff up (many in the media, no offense!). But the rest of us get a bit sick of it.

These issues are too serious to be playing around.

The sad part is the press is doing the free adversiting for them. Each hour on MSNCB they are playing the ad, sometimes twince within the hour...these people pull the network strings like trained dogs!!! This is why our country does not elect the best leaders.

I always suspected it was a fundraising scheme. It is also very Nixonian of them. Here we have a pinch of "out of context" snippets, add it with a dash of "guilt by association" and presto! you get some fundraising money. It is the silly season and it might raise money but it won't get Senator McCain elected . . . not this year, not this time.

It's stupid. I can understand why McCain is opposed to it. McCain hasn't stooped as low as his rivals all campaign, and this is going to be unfairly tied to him. I appreciated his letter to the NC GOP yesterday, but no matter how hard he tries, people that want to see him walked on will make this look like his (or RNC's) fault.

The usual double standard from people, especially Obama followers, who say a few rogues shouldn't determine the character of a candidate...

Can you tell me how many times that ad has been shown on MSNBC in the last 24 hours? They have no need to show it no matter their original intention. You have done it for them. If the ad was indeed that controversial why would you not consider having the integrity to at least let NC Reps. make the mistake first? As much as I have enjoyed and learned from the media during this election process I am beginning to side with those who believe you are abusing your journalistic obligation. I respectfully disagree.

If the Rev. Wright TV ad does damage Obama in NC then Hillary gets the nomination. No doubt. And this is what GOP really wants. For some reason, they believe Hillary will be easier to beat.
On the other hand, this advertisement will not buy McCain any black votes.
