Those white working-class voters...

Posted: Thursday, April 24, 2008 1:05 PM by Domenico Montanaro

From NBC's AnaMaria Arumi
In the primaries (not caucuses, and excluding Michigan and Florida) so far this year, Clinton's lead among White voters with Household Incomes of less than $50,000 was in the middle of the pack of the states where she had an advantage over Obama. There are nine where she bested Obama by a bigger margin than in Pennsylvania and 13 where she won by narrower margins.

She had her greatest advantage in Arkansas (65 percentage points) and her narrowest advantage in New Mexico (2 points).

Obama had an advantage among whites who make less than $50,000 in Wisconsin, Illinois, Utah and Vermont.

Meaning...?

C'mon, Chuck, all this proves is that no math, no matter how fuzzy, is in Senator Clinton's favor -- including the Michigan/Florida math, as North Carolina and Oregon will probably make up that much and more. How about some kudos to David Plouffe for running a campaign that has, at least thus far, off-set the inherent advantages of going up against a political machine AND a team that has previously won two presidential elections?
I hope you all know that Hillary has paid people to submit to the blogs. It sure shows on some of these. I am a white 55 year old grandmother from New england and I don't ever really remember anything Hillary has done good for women. all she did was to degrade them when they were invovled with Bill and put us down when she didn't leave the SOB after many affairs. Let me tell you as a woman this shows much weakness on her part.
Oh by the way, this didn't warrant being posted as a thread. If it's a slow news day it just is! Leave it at that.
If I ever see another post comparing Barack Obama to Eli Manning I may just have to surf ABC.  I understand you love Barack and you are encouraged by those who overcome adversity, but please don't.

How about this comparison? Hillary is Univerity of Colorado football program and Barack Obama is Boise State.  HAHA. I was just kidding earlier. I like the analogy. Good stuff!
This is how blogs should be.  Where's the fun people
When are you people going to start vetting Mrs. Clinton? There are a whole lot of skeletons in both Hillary's and Bill's closets -- we only broached the tip of the iceberg in 1992. Let's see some media attention on Hillary's past as an elitist who can't choose a home city/state, rather than her present charade as a  populist and friend of the working class!
This is too funny - Hillary gets SOME of the white voters - Obama gets ALL of the BLACK vote 92% and we are not asking questions of that group or breaking it down men/woman young/old rich/poor.  This is not about race - it is about who you want as President of the UNITED States.
What about young voters can Hillary win them over? What about African American voters can Hillary win them over. The media just discounts African American voters. They have been very loyal voters for the Democratic Party. Why do you just dwell on White older voters. Its another example of how the media plays the public.
Weren't those states at the top of the list also at the top of the list for driving under the influence?
I have no doubt that this election is over and has been for some time.  What absolutely amazes me is the success of the Clinton PR/media machine.  It literally has to be the most successful PR effort of all time.

Try and think of another situation where a candidate is losing in the popular vote, is losing in states won, and is losing in elected delegates with absolutely no chance to catch up and is STILL getting huge press as if he/she has a realistic shot at winning.  It's mind-boggling.

Granted, the media is likely going along with the Clinton PR blitz because by saying the race is close, they get the public to believe the race is close, thus more people tune in to news broadcasts and they can sell more commercials.

But even given that, the Clinton PR machine is showing it's true strength in an unbelieveable way.  Who else could claim that they don't want to disenfranchise the voters of FL and MI while simultaneously claiming that they would like the superdelegates to overthrow the will of the entire nation, and not be called on it once?  It's amazing.

Fortunately, I don't believe even the media or the Clinton PR machine will be able to keep this up after May 6.  Thankfully, it will all be over by then.
It was the blue collar white voters that put Bush in for the last 8 years look where we are today.  In a recession.  Gas is at it highest and soon we will be fighting to get rice.  The war in Iraq has crippled us.  Our bridges are collapsing and young people can hardly find the money to get a good education.  This is what the old blue collar white workers have done for us.  Go Hillary you will get the chance to sink us deeper in the ground while you live the lavish lifestyle that we would never be able to live.  Thanks again white america.

Keep the faith Obama if the White House is to be your home, there is nothing those white blue collar Hillary supporters can do to bring you down.  Keep believing cause we believe in you.

OBAMA 08 A NEW BEGINNING
I am thinking of a media boycott by the masses. Let Hill and her coronies entertain each other until an ateriod falls on O or Nov whcih ever comes first...... SHAME ON ALL OF THEM.
Now, answer me this...how well did Hillary do with left handed white female single mother midgets ?
Wow a home run on the first comment!  Excellent sir! Idoitz fer Klin-Ton!
I am a white working class woman in Ohio and I find this information offensive! I feel discriminated against! The same for classifing me as "under $50,000.00" Just because I grew up in an era that you didn't need a college education to get a job does not make me a minority, I have worked hard all of my adult life, I started working at age 14, and recently due to the Bush White house I was making good money, now I have a job that pays $10.00 per hour, but that gives no one the right to think that I will vote for Hillary Clinton just because of what I make per year!
This story was as bad as the one with the "thongs" in it. Doesn't it make sense to not say things that you wouldn't say in front of your own grandmother! What happened to respect? Which my the way CLintons have none of!
I think if everyone really thought about the reason that Senator Obama, will not get many blue collar workers we already know.  They will never vote for an African American no matter what.  We can not change their minds.  It is something that they believe.  It is for those of us who refuse to let this opportunity pass by have to work extra hard to get his message out.  We must work together to bring this nation together.  There will always be those who have dislikes for those not like them.  We as a nation must be patience and try to get them to understand there is a new day in America, and if we are to move forward we must all work together.
