Delegate update: Obama 3, Clinton 2

Posted: Wednesday, April 30, 2008 12:50 PM by Domenico Montanaro

From NBC's Domenico Montanaro
The Clinton and Obama campaigns announced one more superdelegate each.

CA Rep. Lois Capps endorsed Obama, and Puerto Rico superdelegate Luisette Cabanas endorsed Clinton. (Chelsea Clinton is stumping in Puerto Rico today.)

Today, Obama has three superdelegates to Clinton's two.

To recap:
OBAMA: Rep. Baron Hill (IN), Rep. Bruce Braley (IA), Rep. Lois Capps.
CLINTON: Bill George (PA AFL-CIO president), Luisette Cabanas (PR DNC member).

SUPERDELEGATE TOTAL: (280 uncommitted)
CLINTON 268
OBAMA 247

PLEDGED: Obama 1,490-1,334
OVERALL: Obama 1,737-1,602

Since the PA primary, Obama leads 10-6 in superdelegates.

I think that Obama is a more sincere person than Hillary;  He has class and though it is tough running against a wannabe President and a former President, he is handling it quite well. Go Obama
Obama Magic Number: 84

Any combination of new super delegates and/or pledged delegates won over a 50/50 split gives Obama 2025 and the nomination.

What ever happened to those 2 pledged delegates remaining in Penna?
So - if Obama continues to get 62% of the remaining supers (and not more than that), Hillary needs to get more than 75% of the pledged delegates in the remaining primaries just to keep Obama from reaching 2025 - and even then Hillary won't have 2025 herself.  If she can't win both NC and IN decisively next week, it'll be time for her to give it up.

We need to start discussing this. Come on MSNBC, lets get some real news to the forefront.
Hmm, look at that DNC insiders going for Clinton... Now who wants to tell me that "the people" want Clinton to be President.  Elected superdelegates, pledged delegates, and popular vote all go to Obama...
Hey, Wait! How can this be?!!?

Obama's lead is GROWING again!??! In spite of Rev. Wright and your nifty new gas tax relief??!!

Forrest, let me introduce you to the trees!!
Hey, I just heard that Rev. Jeremiah Wright's media blitz was arranged and organized by a Barbara Reynolds who just happens to be a staunch HRC supporter.  I would like to read about the details of this HRC campaign dirty tricks scandal so could someone direct me to the politics section of MSNBC?
Hillary Clinton for '08
First!
a strong message is coming... after NC and IN, more delegates will commit. Let's wrap this up, and get on with the General Election, THE REAL THING for this year.
I DON'T CARE WHAT LIES FOX NEWS IS REPORTING.  HILLARY ISN'T AHEAD IN THE POPULAR VOTE.  OBAMA WILL WEATHER THIS STORM IN REGARDS TO REV WRIGHT.  THEY ARE 2 DIFFERENT PEOPLE AND REV WRIGHT MADE THIS CLEAR.  OBAMA OWES HIM NOTHING, AT LEAST HE WAS RESPECTFUL AND DIDN'T TRY TO THROW REV WRIGHT UNDER THE BUS, BUT CLEARLY REV WRIGHT DOESN'T SHARE THE SAME FEELINGS ABOUT OBAMA
I'm a Democratic voter, but if Clinton is the Nominee, I'll cast my for McCain.
First?
OBAMA...ALL THE WAY BABY!!

Neither will have enough pledged delegates to win the nomination. Operation Chaos at work.
Why is she pimping her daughter?  LOL!  What a crazy world we live in.
Obama has more class, intelligence, charisma, inspiration, & more than Hillary and McCain put together.  The polls tell the story.  People are sick in tired & of being sick & tired of both Hillary and McCain.  It's the same old song. Over & Over.  Nothing different about them.  OBAMA is the Man for the job.  Fox news & MSNBC needs to chill out about Obama, stop being so negative towards him.  I really think the media has done ENOUGH DAMAGE to such an honest and inspiring person.  The news media is so intense about who is OBAMA? "We don't know much about him." If there was something real tacky that he has done I'm sure the media would have found out about it by now.  It's just that the media, Hillary, Bill & McCain are praying and praying for something negative to come up on OBAMA.  Hillary is the one with the BAGGAGE!!!!!!  Yes, the man is a half Afro-American and half White I think that's a good thing.  I am WHITE.
Drip, drip, whoooossshhhhhhh
Drip, drip, drip. When Hillary will finally realize that this thing is over?
There is sign, though, that she is starting to realize: it's better to quit on a high note, being praised by Democrats around the country, then be beaten after ugly fight in the floor in Denver and going down in history as sore looser who divided so badly Democratic Party.
I hope she means what she says:

Reality is now setting in that Obama will indeed be the Democratic nominee. All of the supers want to make sure that they are on the winning side.
Keep em coming, Obama. Hill needs 2/3 of superdelegates and you only need 1/3.  Once this mess is over, my girlfriend (hillary supporter) and I can sleep in the same bed again. I just want a candidate!
Wow-the superdelegates seem to have more wisdom than the cable networks, who relentlessly and destructively focus on the Wright issue ad nauseum. Obama is his own man-actually intelligent enough to see shades of gray and realize that people can have different opinions and still be a friend.
Thank you super-delegates for endorsing.

Congratulations to both Senators for their pick-ups.

Here's hoping that there will be more announcements today.
Did you know that Viagra makes your ears stick out?
It's a Superdelegate shoot-out today.  Time to wind this thing down!!!
If you believe every vote should count, google to..floridademandsrepresentation ,and sign petition.
Has MSNBC covered the Tom Hayden letter?

Guilt-by-association, by another name is - innocence. However, when you start throwing stones, look out for your glass house ... Hillary's relationship with communists and communist-sympathizers may not be relevant to anything, but her closeness to the Black Panthers certainly is, in relation to her tsk tsking about Ayers.

Where is the balanced coverage?
