Angry Floridians

From NBC's Mike Viqueira
WASHINGTON, D.C. -- A small but very fired up group of Floridians rallied in the street outside the Democratic National Committee’s headquarters here today, demanding that their primary votes be counted and threatening to literally block the doors of the Democratic Convention if they aren't.

"We will shut down the convention!" exclaimed Rep. Corrine Brown. "If we are not seated, then nobody is going to be seated!"

Brown, a superdelegate pledged to Clinton, addressed a crowd of about 150 who had been bused up to D.C. from Florida this week under the auspices of LULAC, an Hispanic advocacy group. Though Brown and another super who spoke -- Rep. Hilda Solis -- are in the Clinton camp, organizers went out of their way to remove any hint that they favored one or the other Democrat in the race. Many in the crowd wore T-shirts with the name of each Democratic candidate, from Kucinich to Dodd to Richardson to Obama, printed across the back in the shape of a rainbow. There was but one Hillary '08 shirt or button to be seen.

"We're not supposed to talk about that," confided Harriet Meltzer, 83, a member in good standing of the Del Ray Democratic Club, though she allowed that she was, in fact, a Clinton supporter. "What's he going to do when he goes to the Middle East?" she asked of Obama, who she deems to be lacking in experience. "Charm them?"

But others were adamant that this was about right and wrong, not Obama and Clinton. "We've been robbed. I didn't get a say," said Glenda O'Laughlin of Clearwater. "This is a betrayal of our rights as citizens," added Branford Fambro, also of Clearwater.

Protesters eventually turned their ire on Howard Dean, literally calling him out with taunting chants of, "Be a man, Howard!" and "Where is Howard!?"

After organizers went inside to meet with DNC officials, who they got outside to address the crowd was not Dean but Luis Miranda, deputy communications director for regional and specialty media. His promise of Florida representation in Denver was greeted with shouts of "When?" and "How?"  He had no details to offer.

Meanwhile, Clinton campaign official Harold Ickes made a closed-door appearance this morning before Clinton supers in Congress, where he told them that HRC would end up winning the popular vote by 300,000, according to a Democrat in attendance. He also told the group the Obama was "writing off Florida" and that the only hope to win the state in November was with a Clinton nomination. Ickes comes up regularly for these outreach sessions.

I don't want a "fighter" in the White House, I want a "leader".  The last debate told me all I need to know, he was gracious to her and her gaffes, while she went for the jugular.

No matter how the "values" voters vote, the gay population will still be 5-10% of the population and they will be living among us as tax paying productive members of society.

No matter how the "values" voters vote, abortion will still be available, for the poor it will be "back alley" and risky, for the rich it will be overseas.  The goal is to make it rare by sensibly teaching prevention along with morals.

No matter how the "liberal" voters vote, prayer will still be said in school, especially before tests and sporting events.

No matter how the "liberal" voters vote, the second amendment will still allow lawful gun ownership.

So this time, Vote with your head, vote for the economy, vote for the environment, vote for jobs.

Vote Democratic 2008 -- don't let the corporations and their Republican stooges win again.
Where was all this outrage months ago when it was first decided that their delegates would not be seated? They all knew this before they voted, and yet no one said anything. They wait until AFTER their primary before they decide that they are "outraged"? Bunch of morons....
Well, to the 83 yr old lady, guess you would rather nuke them, huh? Or scream at them maybe?
I'll take charm (diplomacy)any day. I am 69.

Clinton Advisor Harold Ickes does his classic bait-and-switch again, I see.

Obama writing off Florida?  Dude, you were one of the DNC leaders who voted to punish Florida.  Why won't you be a man and own up to it?
I've already seen photos online clearly showing the "protestors" had Hillary for President official campaign signs.

Not the best with facts today, FirstRead!!!
Does anyone remember Susan,Miami a regular on here. She was a big Hillary fan. I bet if she was still in Florida she would be livid over this no vote count.
Hillary is ABSOLUTELY resposible for this specticle.  She is giving the Democratic party a black eye over a lost cause.

Please end this indiana!
Dear Angry Clintonians (I mean, Angry Floridians):

You got robbed of your votes because your own state party leadership screwed you. They knew the rules and they screwed it up anyway.

Please go home.
EVERY Democrat ought to be outraged at the actions of the DNC!!!!!  ALL votes matter !!  Yet, by the DNC not agreeing to a FAIR re-vote, they are saying to Florida and Michigan, "You do not matter" however, come November, the DNC expects to have support of all those millions of voters they chose to disenfranchise??

GET REAL MR. DEAN AND DNC!!  Not only can you not expect the supoprt of the Florida voters come November, say bye, bye to ANY donations you might be scrapping for!!
Where was the outrage by Floridians when the DNC stripped their votes prior to the primary?

Both sides agreed to these rules.  The time for complaining was before the primary, not after.
The Bilderbergers
The Bilderbergers meet in secluded places, arrogantly plotting the subversion and silent takeover of constitutional governments everywhere. Their goal is a World Government run exclusively by their hand-picked puppets.

Bilderbergers Planned Kosovo War in 1996

Rebuilding America's Defences: Strategies, Forces And Resources For A New Century
A premeditated attack on Iraq to secure 'regime change' was planned by George Bush and his cabinet long before the events of 9/11 and even before he took power in January 2001. The blueprint for the creation of a 'global Pax Americana' was drawn up for Dick Cheney, Donald Rumsfeld, Paul Wolfowitz, and others in September 2000 by the neo-conservative think-tank Project for the New American Century (PNAC).

Shrewd and calculating, their hearts are filled with lust for power and consumed by greed for money. Rich and aristocratic, they despise Christians and they loathe the lowly working class. They control the world's press and virtually all our banks and financial institutions. They screen and choose who America's leaders will be and even determine who will run on the Democratic and Republican Party tickets. It was shortly after attending the 1991 Bilderberger meeting, Governor Bill Clinton was selected to be the next President of the United States. Bill Clinton and White House advisor Vernon Jordan's relationship goes back to it's Bilderberger connections.

Among the elitist membership or attendees at Bilderberg meetings is David Rockefeller, Henry Kissinger, Lloyd Bentsen, Helmut Kohl, Prince Charles, Prince Juan Carlos, Katharine Graham, Alice Rivlin, Gerald Ford, Bill Clinton, Hillary Clinton, Dan Quayle, Donald Rumsfeld, Colin L. Powell, John Edwards, Bill Bradley, Bill Richardson, Christopher Dodd, Dianne Feinstein, Alexander Haig, Ralph E. Reed, George Stephanopoulos, William J McDonough & Timothy F. Geithner (Presidents, Federal Reserve Bank of New York), George Soros, Paul Volcker & Alan Greenspan (former Chairman of the Federal Reserve), H. J. Heinz II (CEO of H. J. Heinz Company), Peter A. Thiel (Co-Founder, PayPal), Eric E. Schmidt (Chairman and Chief Executive Officer, Google), Lloyd Blankfein (CEO of Goldman Sachs), Rupert Murdoch, Donald E. Graham (Chairman of the Board of The Washington Post Company), William F. Buckley, Jr. (founder of National Review and former host of Firing Line), Peter Jennings, George Will, Lesley Stahl, Bill D. Moyers, and many others. The list includes prominent persons in politics, the military, financial institutions, major corporations, academia, and the media.

"We are grateful to the Washington Post, The New York Times, Time Magazine and other great publications whose directors have attended our meetings and respected their promises of discretion for almost forty years. It would have been impossible for us to develop our plan for the world if we had been subjected to the lights of publicity during those years. But, the world is now more sophisticated and prepared to march towards a world government. The supranational sovereignty of an intellectual elite and world bankers is surely preferable to the national auto-determination practiced in past centuries." -- David Rockefeller

I hope they try to block the doors.  It will be fun watching them frog marched in cuffs off to jail.

I assume Ickes is including Michigan in his laughable estimate of a 300,000 vote margin.  He is as sleazy as the person he supports for President.

I wonder what role Corinne Brown played in this mess.  Was she one of the people who decided to break DNC rules and hold the Florida primary early?  What's going on in Florida, anyway?  First they screw up the 2000 election, and now this.

Obama in 2008.  Integrity matters and the Clintons have none.  Pardons for sale!  Get your red hot terrorist pardons!
Quit whining...take this up with your Republican governor. THIS SMELLS OF CLINTON DESPERATION!!!!
Harriet Meltzer, 83, a member in good standing of the Del Ray Democratic Club, though she allowed that she was, in fact, a Clinton supporter. "What's he going to do when he goes to the Middle East?" she asked of Obama, who she deems to be lacking in experience. "Charm them?"...

Harriet - Iran won't be there to deal with under Hillary Clinton, because she will have "obliterated" them.  And what do you suppose a realistically major part of diplomacy is?  That's right - charisma, likeability and charm.  You might not like it, but it's true.
Ignorant people. 150 ignorant Hillary supporters embarassing the hell out of their State of Florida. The fine folks in Florida should not let these idiots back across the Florida State line when they try to return home.
Harold Ickes the twerp!  Straight lying.  ALl the candidates signed waivers and now he's putting it all on Obmama.  This is the kind of mess I'm talking about with Billary.  Bend the rules and rearrange things to your liking, to fit your needs.  Everyone wants FL and MI to count, but on fair terms. NOT ON YOURS.  Reality check for the Clinton campaign please???  They seem to think they're the only ones that matter in the US.
Very reminiscent of the fake "protests" staged by the RNC during the Florida recounts in 2000, trying to give the impression of a grassroots movement to STOP counting votes.  How Rovian.
I cannot wait for this process to be over...she will stop at nothing.  If not sending Lanny Davis out to do the campaign damage for her, i.e., spout the race-baiting term of being "uneasy" about Obama;to clearly "staging" this Florida event, it is hard to imagine what else her and the media will conjure up next.
Will this reach the Supreme Court in time for the convention?
And it's precisely people like Rep. Corrine Brown that put the people in Florida in this position.  It was superdelegates in Florida -- reps and party leaders -- who chose to go along with the moving up of the primary, while 48 other states followed the rules. The record is clear and it was not just a Republican move, it was backed by the Florida Democratic Party and party leaders.

What did they think was going to happen if they broke the rules?  The DNC was going to give them milk and cookies?  Please.

And even Terry McCauliffe, in his book, said he threatened exactly the same punishment during the 2004 primary process.  Now, the tune is changed, but back then it was rules are rules....

Whenever I think of Florida politics these days, I think of the scene of the 2000 recount -- people unable to properly count votes, follow rules, and angry picketing and shouting.  This just confirms my impression that they can't seem to do what the rest of the country manages to do, which is vote in a calm and orderly process, following the established rules, whatever that may be.
We cant let Obama Hussein in to the white house! He is saying anythng to get the presidency and that icludes his terrorist loving preacher! They probably cooked up this plan to make it look like they disagree so people wont think he agree about hating america! Hillary tells the truth and wants to do the right things and sheis the only one who can beat McCain now that we know all about Obama Hussein and his terrorist lies!
The Democratic Party will be soo divided come November that I wonder if 'united' will ever apply to it again

-thanks Clinton supporters and campaigners- for setting the Party back instead of helping to push us forward
HOWARD DEAN IS A DISGRACE TO THIS NATION and A SPINELESS  ---FRACTION OF A MAN!!!
How do you count the votes of those that did not vote because the DNC said our votes would not be counted and delegates not seated?  If you are going to count votes Florida needs to revote so that all our votes count.
Ickes is a busy man.

Monday - Fight with Michigan and Florida about their demands to vote first.

Tuesday - Come to a stalemate on the issue, then watch Florida and Michigan defy the DNC

Wednesday - Vote to strip both states of their delegates

Thursday - Promote Candidate Clinton, acknowledge that Michigan and Florida count for zilch

Friday - Start losing against Obama, begin campaigning for Florida and Michigan votes to count afterall.

Saturday - I love Big Brother, I've always loved Big Brother

Sunday - Clinton Campaign, at long last, put to rest...
"We will shut down the convention!" exclaimed Rep. Corrine Brown. "If we are not seated, then nobody is going to be seated!"

Typical Clinton Campaign behavior--if I can't have it, no one can!

Hillary, please take your ball and go home. And take Bill and James Carville with you.
Only 150 protestors? I can see 1.5 million if the Clintons steal the election. Let's just throw out the rules and have a free for all.  I do sympathize for the Floridians ... at least they didn't do it to themselves like we did in Michigan.
"What's she going to do when he goes to the Middle East?" she asked of Hillary, who she deems to be lacking in humanity. "OBLITERATE THEM!?"

You have to wonder if Hilary Clinton made Corrine Brown get this small group on a school bus and have them pretend they were a angry mob. Clinton is showing how desperate she is and the clock is ticking. Also, why hasn't MSM or MSNBC been reporting what the Daily Kos has revealed the source of the robocall in NC? Its being reported in both the Daily Kos and Huffington Post that a group called Women's Voice Women vote which is being linked to Hilary Clinton's campaign is being investigated for spread misleading voter information and sown confusion and frustration among North Carolina residents. Please report this on your network Chuck Todd.

"We've been robbed. I didn't get a say," said Glenda O'Laughlin of Clearwater. "This is a betrayal of our rights as citizens," added Branford Fambro, also of Clearwater.
_____

Yet another ignorant uniformed whiner.  You have ZERO rights to vote in a private party's primary.  The political parties can set whatever rules they want for primaries.  Just as the DNC can set that only registered Democrats can vote in Florida's primary, thus excluding any Republican or Independant, they can exclude you too.

If you want to whine to someone, go whine to Gov Charlie Crist and all the people in the Florida Congress.
That's nice.

So, a Hillary Clinton 527, that Maggie Williams serves on the board of (as does John Podesta), is facing a potential Class I felony for African-American voter disenfranchisement in NC as of about two hours ago.

Just thought people might like a reality check... about... reality regarding the Clinton Campaign trying to keep black people from voting:

http://www.dailykos.com/story/2008/4/30/11055/6499?detail=f

-- it started yesterday with this: http://www.dailykos.com/storyonly/2008/4/29/105711/770/895/505589

Maggie Williams needs to resign. This is an enormous scandal in the brewing.
Just what we need.....old ladies running the country.  I guess it couldn't be any worse than what we have at the present time.  BTW, I happen to be  an old lady myself.
"What's he going to do when he goes to the Middle East?" she asked of Obama, who she deems to be lacking in experience. "Charm them?"

Better than "nuking them to obliteration"

Funny how those who BROKE the rules are the first ones to cry when the rules actually get enforced. They were warned not to do it, they did it, time to pay the price. Anything else isn't fair to those states which actually bothered to play by the rules.
Are you serious??? Chaos in DC in front of the DNC?

Dean said the delegates would be seated once there is a nominee at the convention. He said this...

Obama/Bloomberg 2008
Floridians, you should be picketing your own state legislature, not the DNC.  The DNC is a straw man set up by the Clinton Campaign.  Obama, Richardson, Biden, Clinton, Edwards, etc., all knew and agreed to the rules.  The Republican Legislature in Florida changed the primary date, and the DNC assigned the accountablility for breaking their rules.  I am a teacher trying to teach my students that the rules matter, and I cannot explain to my students why these rules don't seem to matter to Hillary Clinton.
And here we thought the Clintons had sunk to their lowest. Goes to show, no matter how low you set the bar some will always find a way to lower it.
The Clinton campaign is so full of deceit! The voters in FL will be fairly represented at the convention in due course and they know it. But HRC and her pariah advocates keep whipping up the ignorant masses with their lies and distortions and their unceasing spin.

Shuester was ten times better than Gregory last night on "Race to the White House".  This should be a permanent replacement
WHy doesn't Obama want the votes counted?
Clinton says count them, Edwards says count them, Obama says NO,It will hurt ME!

he's anti-democracy.
just like george bush
Ickes comes up regularly for these outreach sessions.

Like an abscess, carbuncle, pustule, boil, or cyst!
These Floridians are confusing public organizations with private organizations. A political party is a private organization.

Trying to shut down the convention because they disagree with the application of private rules will just get them arrested, much like a guy would get arrested if he tried to block the front door of a local Elks club, because he disagreed with the group's choice of beer.
NOBODY CARES ABOUT FLORIDA ANYMORE!!!!! This idea that the democratic party of florida couldn't negociate another day to hold their primary like New Mexico, Idaho, wyoming, maine and a bunch of other states is absurd. They knew what they were doing just like michogan. They wanted to skip ahead and get more power in the presidental process and as a result they lost their representation in a year it could have really mattered. This 20 year old laughs in the face of all floridians! That's right, HAHAHAHA to them, cuz it's what they get for thinking they are better than the rest of us that have to wait in line. There's a reason why america hates florida. I say lets give it back to spain. hahaha!

Charming them is a heckuva lot better than Sen. Clinton's suggestion...which is to "obliterate" them.
GOOD for the citizens of Florida...this is a sacred right, the right to vote and have that vote counted!!  No Party, either Republican or Democratic should stand in the way of having an American citizens vote counted.  If you vote, your vote should be counted...as a Party you can play your political games some other way, without robbing American citizens of their vote!!  If votes don't count, what's next??

This is not some third world country, before we know, we'll have to have monitors from other countries to make sure our elections are fair and not corrupted!!

Shame on the DNC and all those politicians who contributed to this fiasco!!

Every American citizen should stand up for the VOTERS in Florida and Michigan...this has got to stop!!

Note to ALL Democrat Floridians:

Come November  --I hope you ALL remember how your chosen party "willingly" decided that you do not matter in this process!!  AND when it comes time to vote... VOTE MCAIN!  This is the only way to get back at the DNC for not giving two SH*TS about you or your opinion!
They are talking to the wrong people - they should be mad at Hillary - Clearly Hillary and her husband are VERY influential in the Democratic party - why didn't they do something to stand up for Florida's voters BEFORE it became a crisis. They certainly could have - they saw this coming, they signed agreements, they had absolutely NO problem with it...Why didn't they speak up sooner?

The answer is that Hillary assumed Florida voters would be unimportant and she was unconcerned with their primary not counting because she presumed that she would run away with the nomination. She didn't.

NOW she is very concerned about them....she is stirring up all kinds of turmoil, blaming Obama, blaming the DNC, and blaming everyone else - for something SHE could have helped to avoid.

Gee, blaming everyone else for a mess you could have avoided...sound like anyone we know? George W. Bush, maybe?

What a great leader Hillary would be.
Well, at least there's no disputing that this is political grandstanding by the Clinton campaign. I love that the woman admitted she isn't supposed to talk about who she supports and then launched into an attack on Obama's policy of diplomacy – something she wouldn't understand as a Clinton supporter.

http://gibbsv.blogspot.com/
Interesting, will this race never cease...

Just so you know, the machinations are still going on...Limbaugh is still out there with Operation Chaos (urging Republican supporters to choose Clinton over Obama in the primary only (of course) so that the Dem. race continues)...

http://www.politico.com/blogs/jonathanmartin/0408/Limbaugh_calls_for_restart_to_Operation_Choas_.html
Angry females. Tell them to take their bullying agenda, and go pound salt.
COUNT ALL THE VOTES - ALL THE PEOPLE - ALL THE STATES!
Funny how we don't hear any OUTRAGAE from the obama group because he did not win FL and has blocked a re-vote in MI.  IF this were reversed - you would never hear the end of this from Sharpton, Jackson, and the obama group crying yet again - race issue! I do think Obama is the uniter - well - he will need these two big states to ever hope to win the general - think about that!
In FL the people voted - the people did NOT break any rules - the party leaders did.  We have 50 States and this is America - Count the Votes!
