Bill's terms of endearment

HOPE MILLS, N.C. -- Jackals, no. But maybe spies.

In the first time Bill Clinton has ever publicly acknowledged the existence of his small and battle-hardened traveling press corps, President Bill Clinton noted today that his treks through rural America have expanded the horizons of the intrepid reporters who follow him.

"Some of the people that are embedded with me -- that's what you call the press that hafta follow you around," explained the former president, as your NBC reporter and her ABC colleague snapped to disbelieving attention from their seats on the distant press riser.

"The embeds," he repeated to the audience with a giggle. "Sounds kinda like a spy, doesn't it?"

"Spy" may be more flattering than the terms used behind closed Escalade doors about the reporters who track him. The phrase "media jackals" has recently been bandied about in a recent report about how the one-time president feels about the press members in question.

"Anyway," he continued in the inaugural shoutout to the campaign reporters who record his every move. "They see more of small-town America than they ever dreamed they would."

From Hope Mills, N.C. (population: 11,237). I have to say that, for once, he's absolutely right.

What Bill is really sore about is that with the press following his every move he is forced to adhere to Hillary's no chicks tour rule!!!
How can you help but hate this guy?  You have to think that every time he says something to you that he is saying the opposite to someone else.

Like his wife, he is the epotiome of contradiction and spite.  I sincerely hope that after Hillary loses the primary that these two disappear from the public eye forever.
Does MSNBC cover every utterance from a Clinton b/c they're out of money and need the free press?  Let's cover what every economist says about the McCain-Clinton gas tax holiday or is that irrelevant?
Why is this news?
Why don't you cover the fraud case against Bill Clinton out in California?
You have been atacking Obama for months for things that he didn't do and didn't say, yet here is a perfect example of the lying and cheating that the Clintons are always involved in and you don't say anything about it?  Why aren't you reporting the truth about the Clintons?  Is one of you hoping to be the press secretary in the Clinton White House?
There is absolutely no news value in this. Media does not need to be reporting on itself.
President Bill Clinton, who by the way Mr. Buchanan IS an intimate friend of Senator Clinton's, has insulted young adults, twisted reality and generally behaved badly -- and David Gregory and co. are still talking about Reverend Wright?

I don't necessarily want you to dissect President Bill Clinton's nonsensical comments, either.

But!!!  Bombs are dropping in the Green Zone and we just moved another aircraft carrier into the Persian Gulf -- our government is making noise against Iran and this could be yet another war... and you guys want to continue talking about Reverend Wright?

And you cannot even get your facts correct!  Senator Obama has known this man for 20 years -- and they have NOT been intimate friends.  Are you intimiate friends with your pastor???  I am not.  Senator Obama has been a member of Trinity since 1992 -- please do the math, the math does not come out to 20.  This is absolute nonsense!

Senator Obama explained some of Reverend Wright's crazier comments in Philadelphia-- have you forgotten?  Then, Reverend Wright comes out and insults Senator Obama, insults his campaign and insults all of Senator Obama's supporters and you are doubting Senator Obama's credibility in distancing himself from a man who seems hellbent on doing everything he can to undermine what Senator Obama seeks to do, what his supporters seek to do and what his campaign seeks to do?

Either you are actively campaigning for Senator McCain, or you are absolutely stupid.  There is nothing incredible about the outrage many of us feel about Reverend Wright's performance in front of the press corps.  Absolutely nothing!

Senator Obama and all of us are trying to come together to solve this Country's problems.  Reverend Wright's comments sought to divide us again and force us (and Senator Obama) to live only in the reality in which Reverend Wright believes.

Reverend Wright's reality is as stuck in the past as David Gregory's seems to be.  We do not live in the 1960's -- we live in the 21st Century and we need to find a way to unite, because folks if don't, we can expect more of the same partisan bickering, no real solutions (other than minor nipping around the edges like the Family Medical Leave Act and truly horrific outcomes like HMO's), perhaps more unnessessary wars, more incompetence, more corruption, more of the status quo!!!  We will all drown in the same boat!

I don't care who you support -- and I am talking here to everyone, not simply reporters -- if we don't start trying to unite to solve our problems, we are all going to drown in the same boat.

4th Estate do your job!  Some actual news would be a nice start.
Bill's blissful days of baloney are gone. The blowhard is blitzed by bull blight: the blessed blogosphere!
Oh, Mr Todd, you were certainly funny to watch on Screwball today. You were 'talking with some Republicans' about the Obama-Wright issue, and you 'reported' they seem to think the issue is over. Nice use of innuendo and factless information.
Why was this news worthy? This website might as well be linked directly to Hillary's campaign site.

I have something that should be covered by REAL journalists:

Another classic Hillary half-truth.
Please pass this on to the correct person. I'm turning off your station every time you mention the "Wright Controversy." Seriously, enough of the freaking gossip and get on with the issues.
