As we enter the heart of state convention season, two more add-on superdelegates selected today. Clinton and Obama have both picked up one each. Clinton got the backing of Maryland add-on, former Lt. Gov. Kathleen Kennedy Townsend, and Obama got the South Carolina add-on, former State Education Superintendent Inez Tenenbaum.

The Delegate Counts:
SUPERDELEGATES: CLINTON 274, OBAMA 253
PLEDGED: OBAMA 1,490, CLINTON 1,336
OVERALL: OBAMA 1,743, CLINTON 1,610

*** UPDATE *** The Obama campaign just announced the support of New Mexico Democratic Party Chairman Brian Colon. That's 2-1 Obama so far today. Numbers adjusted above.

*** UPDATE 2 *** Score another for Obama. The campaign just announced it picked up one of the Maryland add-ons, former Gov. Parris Glendening. That's 3-1 today and expect three more from the Illinois convention as well. Numbers adjusted above.

Why did MSNBC feel the need to do a Special of Rev. Wright and Senator Obama.

Can someone explain this to me
Obama gets former MD Gov Parris Glenenning too, as an add on.
Obama in 08!
How can trust be in the middle of infidelity..?
People make their bed and they sleep in it...
Pulling the sheets over one's head must be tough..
Billary you fool only some of people, some of the time...
HA! Kathleen Kennedy Townsend is a SuperD? My god, she couldn't even win her own election a couple years ago which lead MD to a Rep gov, who thankfully was beaten the next time around by O'Malley. She's been stumping for Clinton for months, so how is it she's just added now? Thankfully her mother supports Obama, and isn't a gender hack like her daughter!
Will superdelegates rush fo follow the lead of Rush Limbaugh?
in addition to Kennedy Townsend, Maryland chose a second add-on, former Gov. Parris N. Glendening, who supports Obama:

I thought Ms. Townsend had endorsed Hillary earlier.  One of the Kenndy's can she count twice?
hmmm, Clinton also got 2 more delegates in PA, and another super in Texas.

BUt i would not expect honest reporting from this site
thanks chuck and team for your relentless efforts to keep us updated.

From the numbers, one can pick up a trend, and I think it is good for the democrats. They need to united as soon as possible, else McCain will have it on a silver plate.
What are the superdelegates waiting for? The sooner we send Hillary home the sooner we can get down to business.
Two to one: Obama. Wonderful!!

Also, in early votes cast in Indiana, Obama is winning!! One Hundred twenty thousand voters so far in Indy are saying YES to the Junior Senator from Indiana.
Clinton manges to stay ahead of Obama in the SD count. When she passes him on the popular vote, which she will, the SD's will have no choice than to give her the nom.

Way to Go Hillary 08!!
Interesting...it seems like more people defect from Clinton than continue to support her. Hillary won the NM primary, too.
You are missing former Gov. Parris N. Glendening who was the other MD add-on selected. So, today's count (so far) should be 3-1.
Obama is winning in Guam, and early voting in Indiana!

The Indy posters have reassured us that the voters in their state would not fall for Hillary's insincere pandering.

Lastly, we have to take into consideration the mischief of the Limbaugh toadies when we assess Texas, Ohio, and Pa.

Obama's campaign, (including us his supporters), like the NY Giants, may just be a team of destiny.
Again I ask: Why can't Hillary close the deal? I wonder why that's not the question. She was supposed to be the runaway winner going into the primaries. Never even got started. She needs to get out now before she destroys her party and forever disillusions all of the first time and young voters that have been flocking to the polls.
By the end of May Obama should lead in the pledged delegates, the Superdelegates and the popular votes as well as in the win totals.  I guess then Hillary will be offering him a cabinet position in her presidency.
I hope delegates continue to see through Senator Clinton's strategy of negativity. Could she do this on her own without former President Clinton to rely on for her answers? Senator Obama understands the issues AND what it will take to restore integrity to our Democratic process. I hope there are enough of them who really do want to a healthier way of solving our toughest problems.
I'm a Brit neutral, does strike me however that a vote for Clinton is for retirees and blue collar workers whose jobs have gone (and won't come back), and a vote for Obama is for younger voters, with better education who can add value to the economy. Yesterday v's the future in a way?? Or have I got this wrong??
GO Obama!
GO Obama!
Didn't Chuck say "years" ago she had to get 65% of the remaining delegates?  Since she hasn't come close--what's the % now?   130%???
Obama has also received the support of second Maryland add-one, former Governor Parris Glendenning. So one each in MD.
When will a group of someones please go to Senator Clinton and show her the fruitlessness of continuing?  If the roles were reversed, Senator Obama would have had those someones meet with him weeks ago!
Chuck and friends -- Looks like it is now 3-1 for Obama. The AP reports Maryland's second add-on is fmr Gov Glendening, who they identify as an Obama supporter.

LANHAM, Md. (AP) — The Maryland Democratic Party has chosen two new delegates, former Gov. Parris Glendening and former Lt. Gov. Kathleen Kennedy Townsend, who will get a vote in the party's presidential nomination. Democratic party spokesman David Paulson said Glendening and Townsend were chosen Saturday as "add-on" delegates.... Townsend is a Clinton supporter, and Glendening is supporting Obama.
What about the 3 Obama SD from his home state?
God Bless Barak Obama, I hope all of the superdelegates now give him their support. Please ~ Please ~ Please American people, if you wish your country to have RESPECT in the world again, get out and vote for Barak, I hope all the he is the only one that can change the vitriolic atmosphere that has been created over the last 16 years..GO AMERICAN PEOPLE show us how YOU the people can make a difference, and put an end to this horrible OLD,tired political spite, fight and envy that is coming across the isles right now. Go Obama!!
I am elated to finally see the Super Delegates trickling in for Obama.  If this continues it is very good news for him.  The only thing that will screw this entire thing up is if the Media continues to plaster all of us with negative issues about him.  This entire debaucle would have ended a long time ago if the Media would have just shut up! Please let Rev. Wright go before you ruin Barack's entire campaign. Maybe Michelle Obama has a point when she says America can be mean.

Every "First Read" on MSNBC - anti-Clinton spin.

Any wonder that they are third in cable tv!
If another cable comes on-line, MSNBC can look forward to being #4!!
Thank you very much for the two superdelegates that have endorsed and supported Sen. Obama.  He is the only who has a broad vision for this country without personal gains. I am 67 I have never participated in politics this much before, but I have been motivated and inspired by his determination to help this country as he has demostrated in Chicago.

He showed his judgement when he did not vote for the war of Clinton voted. At the moment he is showing his judgement again for not supporting a short break for gas, he wants to have a long term solution for the gas.  I am a strong supporter of Obama. Please superdelegates help close this prolonged campaign.
I THINK OB HAS STOOD THE TIDE BEATING 3PEOPLE + A STUPID MINSTER AN IS STILL ON TOP WHEN IS ANY ONE SAY HES BEATING DAUGHTER AN HUSBAN AN THE MEDIA  GO BROC
Thank former Gov. Parris Glendening for showing the support of Sen Obama. Sen. Obama has a good judgement like he showed us by not voting for the war.  At the moment Obama would like to have a long term solution for the gas problem, not short term that has hidden costs in the future. May God Bless you sir. I am 67 I have never been so energised and envoked politically as I have been driven to by Sen. Obama.  This country can go back to what it was before. Thanks once again.
That was very good for Inez from SC to endorse Obama. Inez is a great leader and will have a vast input to Obama's No Child Left Behind.

Great Support for Obama
go obama!!if we do not have a president obama we will have missed the best opportunity for our whole country to move forward!!come on out all s. delegate's! lets have a party!
this is interesting. by the end of next week, clinton's lead on supers will be gone (projection).
that the way to go superdelegates, obama all the way for 08 election know he is leading in guam.
YES, YES, YES WE CAN AND WILL.

Hiliary & Bill had Jeremiah Wright as a guest at the White House. Did she forget to mention that? THe media should ask her what was so special about him then?
408 remaining elected delegates from the remaining 7 states and Guam and Puerto Rico.

Obama needs only 282 delegates to reach 2,025 and secure the nomination.

Whereas, Clinton needs 415 to secure the nomination.

Many projections give Obama 211 of those remaining elected delegates, and Clinton 194.

Guam  - 3(Obama)* : 1(Clinton)
N.C.  - 63(Obama)* : 52(Clinton)
Indiana   - 36(Obama) : 36(Clinton)
W.V.  - 13(Obama) : 15(Clinton)*
Kentucky  - 21(Obama) : 30(Clinton)*
Oregon  - 28(Obama)* : 24(Clinton)
Puerto Rico  - 29(Obama)* : 23(Clinton)
Montana  - 9(Obama)* : 7(Clinton)
S.D.  - 9(Obama)* : 6(Clinton)

This means Obama will only need 71 more superdelegates to reach 2,025 and secure the nomination.

Clinton will need 220 supers.

If Obama can pull 17 superdelegates a week between now and the last primary, in exactly 31 days from today, he will secure the nomination at that time.

GObama!!!
Oh, Hillary is toast. Barack is beating her on her last resort.

Oh no no no! Hillary is toast!
way to go Obama!!!! Probably another one or two from Guam today!!!
Superdelegates:  you were chosen for your leadership abilities, among your other qualities.  Show fortitude, resolve, and commitment & that leadership; further procrastination could aid McCain's cause.  Please show the determination to put a democrat in the White House.
Could you please take David GREGORY 'S SHOW OFF THE AIR IT IS NOT A WINNER DONT YOU GUYS NOTICE THAT ONLY KEITH'S SHOW IS IMPROVING IN RATINGS THE REST ARE PANDERERS WITH SMALL STUFF FOR EXCITEMENT. JOE SCARBOROUGH AND PAT BUCHANAN OH MY LORD NO WONER AMERICA IS FALLING BEHIND IN THE WORLD BECAUSE THE PEOPLE WHO ARE GIVING PUBLIC OPINION SEEM MORE UNINTELLIGENT THAT COMMON FOLKS IN OTHER PARTS OF THE WORLD THEY SEE THE BIG PICTURE.CAN YOU IMAGINE A COUNTRY CLAIMING TO BE A SUPER POWER READY TO SELECT A PRESIDENT BASED ONTHINGS LIKE FLAG PIN A PASTORS REMARKS ETC YOU IDIOTS CHRIS MATTHEWS IS TRYING TO RUN AND GOES WITH THE FLOW RE WHOSE PATTERN HE SHOULD FOLLOW

CHEERS TO RACHEL AND MIKA .NORA DOES NOT HAVE TO EMPHASISE BLLLLAAAK !WE GET IT HOW ABOUT AFRICAN AMERICANS YOU PEOPLE IN AMERICA ARE SHAMELESS GROW UP.

GOOD WORK THOUGH TODD AND YOUR TEAM.OH CHEERS TO TIM RUSSERT!
It looks like Obama will have another superdelegate from Guam today.  The  Lujan/Paulino team is ahead there for democratic party chair/vice chair (which would make them superdelegates).  Paulino is an Obama supporter and Lujan is uncommited.  They keep racking up!
AWESOME!
The more the merrier, "the die is cast", thinking men know what's right for the nation. Every right thinking American knows that a savings of $28 on gas the entire summer cannot and I repeat cannot, help any family in this Great USA. I would rather take Obama's $1000. Even though this is ( Obama's)really not much, it is fifty times better than what Mac and Clin are offering. Obama has a good christian heart.
Thank you, Ms Inez Tenenbaum, Mr. Brian Colon, and former Gov Parris Glendening, for supporting and endorsing Senator Obama.  We, the people, who want to help move our country forward toward new and promising horizons for a more prosperous and better America for EVERY United States Citizen, greatly appriciate each and everyone of you!!  Senator Obama will be a great and for-the-people President!!  He is the ONLY ONE of the candidates who truely believes in "A GOVERNMENT FOR THE PEOPLE, BY THE PEOPLE, AND OF THE PEOPLE"!!
