Delegate update: Two more add-ons

Posted: Saturday, May 03, 2008 1:22 PM by Domenico Montanaro

From NBC’s Domenico Montanaro
As we enter the heart of state convention season, two more add-on superdelegates selected today. Clinton and Obama have both picked up one each. Clinton got the backing of Maryland add-on, former Lt. Gov. Kathleen Kennedy Townsend, and Obama got the South Carolina add-on, former State Education Superintendent Inez Tenenbaum.

The Delegate Counts:
SUPERDELEGATES: CLINTON 274, OBAMA 253
PLEDGED: OBAMA 1,490, CLINTON 1,336
OVERALL: OBAMA 1,743, CLINTON 1,610

*** UPDATE *** The Obama campaign just announced the support of New Mexico Democratic Party Chairman Brian Colon. That's 2-1 Obama so far today. Numbers adjusted above.

*** UPDATE 2 *** Score another for Obama. The campaign just announced it picked up one of the Maryland add-ons, former Gov. Parris Glendening. That's 3-1 today and expect three more from the Illinois convention as well. Numbers adjusted above.

Thank you, Ms Inez Tenenbaum, Mr. Brian Colon, and former Gov Parris Glendening, for supporting and endorsing Senator Obama.  We, the people, who want to help move our country forward toward new and promising horizons for a more prosperous and better America for EVERY United States Citizen, greatly appriciate each and everyone of you!!  Senator Obama will be a great and for-the-people President!!  He is the ONLY ONE of the candidates who truely believes in "A GOVERNMENT FOR THE PEOPLE, BY THE PEOPLE, AND OF THE PEOPLE"!!
1 and 1 is a win for Obama. Drip-drip-drip. She needs to win these elections with 65-70%....no way. NC...thanks in advance...Obama '08.
He's back!!! Thank God.

Please Hillary.....just go home.
Bye Bye HillaryBillaryBully....your time to quit is coming..is coming faster and faster...I expect a very good concession speech on wednesday.
hi,
can you update the supers?
i'ts a little confusing with the switch and the add ons. so where are we right now? the 3 illinois have yet to be counted so leave them out.
it really would help to know (an d don't include guam yet)
thanks regards,

willie
And Obama will continue to pick up the SD's.  Clinton should think of the good of the party and throw her weight behind the Democratic nominee, Barack Obama.  Even with the slander and prejudice that has mounted this month through the help of the corporate media (ie - Murdoch, et al.), intelligent people realize the race is over.  She may win the "Redneck" states in a few weeks, but they'll never go Dem in the GE anyway.
CONGULATIONS MY FUTURE PRESIDENT! AMERICA NEEDS YOUR HONEST PRESENSE AND CHANGE. GET AMERICA BACK TO BEING ADMIRED, NOT HATED.
Thank God, lets pick up the pace already and get this thing over with. This primary was exciting but it has just gotten old.
Supers please save us form Hillzilla! come faster than a speeding pundent and end this thing.
Please we need you.
Thank you my former Governer and county executive Glendening!

Obama 08
Score 3 more delegates for the good guys!  Kudos to those 3 brave supers for getting off the fence and making their voice heard.  I'm waiting for those fence sitters to start making up their minds now and stop playing self serving politics by waiting to see who's going to win before committing.

Go Obama!
Great news!

Obama '08/'12
I have always said Obama has a bag of super delegates and waits for the right time to take them out. Whenever Hillary announces one he comes with two or three. If he can sweep Guam, Indiana and NC the floodgates will open. Hillary has indicated to NC that if Obama wins the nomination she will campaign for him. I hope she keeps her words, well you never know with the Clintons.

Two separate SD 'updates'?
...And two separate 'updates'?

Please just give us a new storyline.

Those of us who have already read the earlier stories rarely notice when there's an "update" added to an older story.

And besides, two more Superdelegates being announced on a Saturday is big news for a saturday--and especially big news the weekend before important primaries.
A sincere thankyou to the delegates for Obama you are doing the absolute thing.  We in Pa that voted for Obama the best man for the job thank you more than you could ever imagine.
thank you thank you for endorsing super-delegate add ons.

Congratulations to both Senators on receiving these endorsements.

Please . . . rest of the supers, make your endorsements!!!
279

Obama's magic number
Go Obama Go!!!!

Lead us to a new type of politics
Lead us the real change
Lead us to a new Washington

Please Superdelegates join Obama. It is the right and best decision you can take now

Stand for a new America
YES WE CAN!!!
