Why Indiana has closed

From NBC's Domenico Montanaro
At one point in the evening, Clinton held a double-digit lead in Indiana, but that was without Marion County where Indianapolis is. As the 170,000-plus votes in Marion county came trickling in, Clinton’s lead dropped and dropped and dropped -- to the point where now the New York senator’s lead stands at 4 percentage points or about 39,000 votes. Obama’s Marion advantage (67%-33%) won’t likely cut much more into the lead, and there are still portions of Clinton counties still out. But there is still the entire county of Lake (about 400,000 population), which contains Gary, Ind., a 100,000-person town in the Chicago media market with an 84% black population.

Clinton, however, has done very well, 58%-42%, in neighboring Porter County -- also in the Chicago media market. Porter is 95% white. Did the heavy local coverage of Wright have an effect here?

Also out, however, still is Monroe County where Bloomington is. Bloomington is home to Indiana University, somewhere that should be an Obama stronghold. There’s only 24% out in Monroe.

It’s not clear there are enough votes available for Obama to actually overtake Clinton, but it might be right around that Chuck Todd Vegas field goal. Any bets?

Hillary should have made a much more concilliatory speech to bring us together. But NOOOOOOO, she asked for money, claimed victory, and divided us by class even more. Hillo is showing us her true colors: win at all costs. SHAME GIRL!
Duh.  Did I not say that because of all the
Dem. hoopla, McCain is being treated like the
IMPENETRABLE MONOLITH? He's not.
New column about how Obama's North Carolina win actually hurts his chances of winning the nomination:

Must-read stuff.
I'm beginning to wonder if Hillary's strategy isn't to undermine blue collar Democratic support for Obama to an extent that will make him un-electable in the Fall.  "NO!  Not him! Me! Pick me!" she'll be squealling at the convention.  She's done just about everything here but come right out and say "Hello!  People!  Hasn't anyone notice he's black???????"

Yeah, Hillary, we've noticed.  Do you really want to be the last person in America who gives a damn?
"`there is something wrong there." --ge``pa

time for new prescription glasses pa.
ge``pa,

I'm sorry you are so upset about Hills, but Obama is worth a look! Go for it!
Toobin needs to stick with legal matters. There was a serious discussion about CLINTON'S being part of the decision to NOT seat FLA & Michigan. What does Jeffrey do - CHANGE THE SUBJECT!!! Clinton said before the Michigan vote - IT WILL NOT COUNT!!! Get over it!
Tim Russert just said that there were 220,000 votes still outstanding in IN. Thats a lot of votes with all of Lake county still out.

I'm revved up. I can't go to sleep until Lake county reports.

Even if Hillary wins the margin is going to be extremely small.

By the way Obama is now 215,000 votes up in NC. Somuch for her making gains on the popular vote.
Whoa, Pat looks and sounds deflated. Hills must have tanked bad. Oh how I can't wait to watch Morning Joe tomorrow, you are right, Joe and Mika's crow should be over easy, so they can eat it without disturbing my enjoyment of their delightful show.
Please don't encourage Obama to put Hillary on the ticket!  With two such strong personalities (Hillary and husband), they would be trying to overshadow him at every turn ... and they personify the old politics we're talking about leaving behind.  As much as I believe in him, I will NOT vote for a ticket that has a Clinton on it.  I'm one of those Independent, white, 62-year old women the Democrats are looking for.  Republicans and Independents have very low opinions of the Clintons.
Johnson Palllett, Evanston IL: nasty man, as your girl says, if you can't stand the heat, get out of our kitchen!!!
The reason that African American's overwhelming go for Obama is not because he is black, but because the clinton campaign has continued to endlessly marginalize and demoralize them. All hillary can say is "I win with white vote, I should be given the nomination by the supers, because I win the white vote." Now tell me, if you were black, wouldn't that PISS YOU OFF?
Rachel is RIGHT. It is scorched earth for Hills. Chris, charming speech? Were you listening? She said donate and we will kill people who don't agree with me. Rachel is totally right.
