Delegate update: Shuler makes it official

Posted: Wednesday, May 07, 2008 12:56 PM by Domenico Montanaro

From NBC's Domenico Montanaro
North Carolina Rep. Heath Shuler is throwing his superdelegate endorsement to Clinton. Note that Shuler said he would back whomever won his congressional district. Clinton was widely expected to win the district (CD-11), which borders Tennesse. She did so -- by 13 points.

Shuler is one of the most conservative Democrats in Congress and won election to CD-11 as part of the Democratic wave in 2006 .

The Delegate Counts:
PLEDGED: Obama 1,588-1,422
SUPERDELEGATES: Clinton 273.5-256
OVERALL: 1,844-1.695.5

The Clintons have had a long, strangely close relationship to race-baitors and race-baiting.  I think back to President Clinton's withdrawal of the nomination of Professor Lani Guinier for Associate Attorney General for Civil Rights.  The right-wing construction of Guinier as the "Quota Queen" was all it took for Clinton to fold and withdraw her nomination BEFORE she even had a chance to appear in front of the Senate committees.  So, it's no surprise that Hillary continues to push herself forward as the "White Hope" of Democrats.
Bum.......
As an Obama Support I respect that he kept his word and he made a choice. Now we need the rest of them to come out and endorse. Lets unite and win in November.
If I were Shuler I would have waited.  I guess going to church with Bill helped him make up his mind. Why didn't he endorse Hillary before the primary? Now it is an after thought. Anyone of the super delegates that go to her now is beyond belief, but I understand that some of them have to do it for their own political gain. This is politics.
Because Heath Shuler's district has everything thing to do with this country? So he waits till she loses to Back Clinton?
What kind of cool-aid is this guy drinking? I heard that he went to church with Bill Clinton this past Sunday. The Clinton campaign is broke; We have it heard over and over.  Perhaps Billo is buying support from people at this point.
Well, that sucks. What an idiot. Maybe he can pay Hilbilly back. If he is that conservative, perhaps he should just turn republican.
Any super that can not see Senator Obama is our presumptive nominee should have their head examined.

Go Obama!
Go Hillary! Another Superdelegate! Hillary in '08 and '12!

If not Hillary, then vote McCain! Democrats for McCain! Obama is an inexperienced ego-tripper; he thinks he's SOOOOO cool.

Who would I "rather dring a beer with?" Obama or McCain? Answer: McCain.

Who do I "want to see on TV in my living room over the next four years?" Obama or McCain? Answer: McCain.

Jump on the Titanic !
