DNC targets Cindy McCain's tax returns

In her interview with TODAY's Ann Curry, Cindy McCain stated that she would not release her tax returns -- even if she becomes first lady.

The Democratic National Committee has decided to jump on this, noting how Cindy McCain's wealth has benefited her husband's political career. For example, John McCain -- when his campaign was struggling with money -- was able to use a corporate jet (at a lower cost) owned by a private company headed by Cindy.

"John McCain may not like it, but the American people have a right to know about the well documented links between his political career and the McCains' business ventures," DNC chairman Howard Dean said in a statement. "John McCain's refusal to meet the standard of every other candidate seeking the office is one more reason he's the wrong choice for America's future."

So if a lobbyist or a foreign government wanted to give money under the table to the McCains (while John is a Senator, a candidate, or a President) all they would need to do is give the money to Cindy McCain or one of her foundation or trust entities, and it gets lost in a "BLACK HOLE" that the taxpayers would never see, because she proudly claims that she will NEVER release her tax returns, even if her husband becomes the President. Is this the kind of precedent we want to set for our public officials? Cindy McCain has been loudly critical of Michelle Obama. But from an ethics standpoint, it appears that it is Cindy McCain who fails the test for openess and honesty that we expect in the people who would occupy the White House. This will make for a great television commercial, since McCain constantly calls for "openess", so long as it doesn't apply to HIS family!
I could be mistaken but I was under the impression that due to a prenuptial agreement Cindy McCain's finances are separated from those of her husband.  Therefore he can't tap into those resources the same way say Senator Clinton can tap into Bill Clinton's wealth.
Patty you really have a problem and I understand having lived near San Diego for over 13 yrs. That is no surprise to me that you lash out at Obama and his wife. That behaviour is widely excepted in San Diego.Any woman that can vote for John McBush when you see what he has in store for you is silly. After seeing your comments day in and day out. I realize you are silly , and a self serving person .So maybe you are what image I had always had of a Republican. Someone who is blinded by fear of change and willing to except the statous quo. Or just a big baby up set because you did not get your way so try to sabatoge with vile attacks of a good and decent family.
What a wonderful world this is 24 hours later. Hillary is a past dream (or nightmare) and now we are on to McFossil!  he cannot stand up to Obama in honesty or integrity! Let the games begin!
The Republicans screamed for Theresa Kerry's tax returns in 2004 why are they baulking now? After all the insults the republicans bestowed on John Kerry they nominee some one just like him .
1. A war hero
2. A flip flopper
3. A guy who knows how to marry rich very very rich

"Patty,sd,ca" what are U so angry about?
I'm an Obama supporter, and I say ease up on the wife bit.  It's nice to have family-released tax forms, but I'd rather see Obama's side stick to issues.  The only area worth noting regarding that is the whole 'private jet' deal, which does seem to contradict what McCain says about "level playing field" in campaigns.

That provides further justification for Obama pulling out of public financing, one of the FEW process issues McCain could try to cling to later on in the general.
Cindy McCain= Classy Lady

Michelle Obama= Angry Black Woman
Patty,sd,ca

Finally! We hear from dear Patty!
We always knew you were a Mcain supporter honey, why didn't ya just say so luv?

And BTW This beer distribution HAS NO competition west of the rockies. It is a locked up done deal she really has nothing to hide but her obscene wealth and it might be too shocking for most of us to believe.

"Both Mccain and Obama seem  sincerely committed to conducting a dignified if vigorous campaign, and we should be inspired by their example. "

So far McCain has not been dignified, the guy can't say 3 sentances without saying something completely wrong.  His gaffs are increasing as the campaign wears on, and he's not even running against anyone yet.

Mark my words, when McCain gets into a debate with Obama, and the general election is in full swing, McCain is going to wish he was back in that prison camp getting his arm broken.
It all about elitism,  the Clinton's are rich, McCain married money.  So much for full disclosure.  At least Bbama "earned" his living and had student loans how freshing is that.

It is time to turn the page..
I have a question for Ms. Andrea Mitchell, if I may.

Yesterday you mentioned that the $11.5 mil Hillary loaned to her campaign was far more then she earned  (book revenues+salaries).

The question is: Would it be also legal for Mrs. McCain to lend money to her husband’s campaign?
If they're not joint returns, I don't see why she should. Granted McCain benefits from having a rich spouse. Anyone would.

Chairman Dean, please in the future run these things past the Obama staff, as your comments sounded very "old politics."
Yes, this is what we want...Bring it on John and the GOP..Barack and U.S. will reign with victory.

Let the Games began....Pay back time for the Republicans...time for the majority of Americans to take our country back.
Cindy McCain = classy lady? Funny. If she was a Democrat, you'd be calling her a proven adulterer and pill-popper. Those aren't qualities I associate with class. But they are 2 aspects of Cindy McCain's life. I think someone who'd steal drugs and undermine the marriage of a disabled woman who'd stood by her POW husband (Cindy did both) deserves a different description than "classy."
as a clinton supporter I do acknowledge that Cindy Mccain is an attractive petite little lady.Very pretty. But leave it to the obamanoids to try and turn her into an ogre, the same as they have Hillary Clinton.I wish that they would look at themselves on video standing behind Obama with their mouths wide open.Lots of fat ugly people---probably the same ones that call other women degrading names.Michelle is bow-legged and is not very attractive but we do not talk about it---only that she looks angry.
Tom Mobile,

Your rational does not support the excuse they gave earlier.  She stated that she would not release her tax return because of protection for her children, not the business.
good luck democrats.

The Republicans are going to destroy Obama.

I can't wait!!!

Get the popcorn ready.
The Kerry's no longer apply here. McCain must do what he asked Obama to do. Transparency, remember? Does McCain want a big ? above his head? Why fight it, everyones will wonder what he's hiding.
their example?  The only thing I know about McLame is that he has no friends but continues to say "my friends" in his speeches?

A vote for McCain is a vote for 4 more years in Iraq and a likelihood of a conflict breaking out in Iran... you have kids and grandkids you better think twice about McCain.
