The Day in Delegates: Obama 7-0

Posted: Friday, May 09, 2008 3:41 PM by Domenico Montanaro

From NBC's Domenico Montanaro
The Obama campaign announced two more superdelegate endorsements -- Laurie Weahkee, a New Mexico add-on, and Rep. Mazie Hirono of Hawaii. This is Obama's seventh pick up today. (The campaign also announced CA DNC Member Vernon Watkins, but we did not add him into our count, because he was already on our list.)

So far today, it's a net of Obama 7-0.

OBAMA (7): Weahkee, Hirono, Wilmer Lee Jeffcoat, Edward Espinoza, NC DNC Member John Gage, Reps. Donald Payne of NJ and Peter DeFazio of Oregon (+7).
Clinton (0): Rep. Chris Carney of PA (+1), but she lost lost Payne (-1).

The NBC delegate counts:
PLEDGED: Obama 1,590, Clinton 1,426
SUPERS: Clinton 273.5, Obama 269
TOTAL: Obama 1,859, Clinton 1,699.5.

* There are 252.5 undeclared superdelegates (about 50 of which are not named yet).

* Since the Indiana and North Carolina primaries on Tuesday, it's a net of Obama 13-1 in superdelegates.

* Obama has picked up 99 since Super Tuesday to Clinton's 13.5.

* Obama is 166 away from the magic number of 2,025.

Can you hear that .. It's the Obama train.I
Hillary, your Racially polarising comments did you in.
REMEMBER THAT as you seek for another term in NY.
THANK GOD! END THI THING!

HEY YOU GUYS HAVE TO SEE THIS...CLINTON IS GETTING REALLY SCARY!

THE CLINTON MAFIA IS STRIKING HARD!

"THOSE WHO DON'T VOTE FOR HER, WILL BE SLEEPING WITH THE FISHES"- SOUNDS LIKE SOMETHING FROM THE "SOPRANOS"?

YOU HAVE TO READ THIS...SOMEBODY HAS TO STOP THEM!

Oh happy day! I'm ready for change.

Hillary, cut your losses and congratulate Obama on his victory.
Does this count as a flood??
Thank you Mses. Weahkee, and Hirono! G-D bless you, and all those whom you love.

Welcome.
Let's get a few more today! -

If they Supers don't end this process... Hillary sure won't.
Does everyone hear that?

It's the sound of inevitability.

Clinton needs to stop being selfish, accept it, and move on with her life

I am an older, non-college educated white male.  And I'm sick of her style of government and campaigning.

Go, Barry, go!  Obama `08
Thank you GOD....America shall be great and mighty once again.

Barack Obama....will make this happen...and all Americans can live the American dream...make a decent living...send there kids to college...have health care, better education system...affordable college tuition....better standing in the world and most of all....better race relations within our own country.  GOD BLESS AMERICA
First Read,

You asked where the flood was. Well?

It's 3:41 pm, he could pass her supers total today!
ITS OVER.... Thank God!
under...5.
Rules are Rules.
If Massachusetts was “Winner take all” as Arizona and California, Mitt Romney will be still in the race. If Massaschussetts or Arkansas or Florida had change the primary date and put before Iowa, we may be McCain would haven’t won the primary.
Mitt

He didn't complain about it.
If we give Michigan to Hilary, that would means Bidden, Dodd, Richardson, Edward and Obama were not smart enough to keep their names on the ballots.

Nobody thinks that was the case. They agreed with DNC to protect the future of the process.
Gatcha or not Rules!

If we are serious about democratize the world, we have to be serious about the process. It is a shame that the former president go to this low road.
The majority of pledge delegate should determine the nominee; the will of people.

Every honest person in this country knows what means democratic process. That i what we are the leader of Free World
2025 was the goal at the start and 2025 will be the goal at the end.
Interesting... The more she begs the superdelegates, the faster they run to him...
The flood gates have opened. Watch this weekend and Monday, the day before the WV primary.
Drip, drip, drip the SDs are finally beginning to see the
light.
It's time to pull up the stakes and fold up the Clinton campaign tent.
AWESOME!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Today has been a wonderful day! What a way to start the weekend!
Five more supers will give him the lead with .5 more supers! That's funny, and this is fun!
Just put the poor arrogant (Gene Robinson column today) out of her misery! You can do it Supers.
That is almost as many delegates as Hillary earned in Pennsylvania! The race is over...
If she weren't such an ambtious b****, I might feel bad for Clinton.  She surely must see it all slipping away from her now.  I doubt that'll make her see good sense, though...
>>Obama has picked up 99 since Super Tuesday to Clinton's 13.5.<<

This is the only stat that matters anymore. If Hillary can't bring down at least 50 supers by next Wednesday, she really needs to rethink why she's in this race at all. I mean, she's welcome to continue running, but it seems an awful waste of money if there's essentially no chance she can win the nomination...
Went from 5-0 to 7-0 in the blink of an eye, keep 'em coming!!!!!!!

Say what............Much thanks to Tim Russert, he had the guts to say it and it has paved the way for Obama to be recognized as ....Democratic nominee!!!
I hope West Virginia and Kentucky hear about this.  Please folks out there don't hold up the inevitable.  We're a country of fifty states, not one or two swing states.
That light the Clintons see at the end of the tunnel is getting a lot brighter!!!
WOW!!! THAT WAS FAST!!!

Is that a flood enough for you , Chucky-T?
Guys - Any word on how many undeclared supers who are in elected office broken down by the districts each candidate has won?
As a Floridian I do hope Debbie Wasserman Shultz and Kendrick Meeks are paying attention.

Neither of these Representatives are from my district.  At least my Representative did not sign on to the letter  posted previously.

If he had he would have been toast in my book when he comes up for election again.

I also note that Senator Bill Nelson a Clinton supporter did not sign on either.

But then again only Reps signed the letter not Senators
At this rate Hillary will soon be saying that we can't let Super Delegates overturn the will of...her supporters.
So Hillary will pick up 15 or so delegates from WV...

Obama's starting to pick that many Supers every two
or three days.

"Turn out the lights, the party's over..."
Yep.  Now we're cooking with gas.  Come on supers, don't be afraid.  Hillary can't hurt you...I don't think.
I wonder how much of these latest endorsements have to do with Hillary's hatefulness yesterday, and that bigoted letter she orchestrated today.

The more Hillary does her thing, the further away she gets from the nomination.
As to Superdelegates, my math suggests that he only needs about 67 and she needs about 207, and I gave Hillary 60-40 wins in WV, KY and PR.

My projected numbers were as follows.

Obama Clinton
11 17 WV
20 31 KY
29 23 OR
22 33 PR
9 7 MT
8 7 SD

Math, it is what it is.
hillary will still win cause she has a big strong vagina and obama has none and that is good enuff reasonfor all smarter woemens to vote for her       GO HILLARY GO

"So I believe you're ready to not only destroy Roe versus Wade, voting rights, civil liberties and civil rights. Perhaps adding trillions more to the deficits through non-stop tax cuts to the wealthy and 100 more years in Iraq. Yes, please join Rush and McCain asap. The train has left. Catch it."

- Donna Brazille to Clinton Supporters threatening to vote for McCain
trickle, trickle, trickle . . . this appears to be a long, slow, painful death.  As much as I enjoyed the primary, it's time to be over.  Come on Hillary, do the honorable thing.  If not, come on superdelegates, get it over with.
It is raining here on the East Coast - but I still see the sun shining!!!!

Obama '08
Let's change the world together
We are waiting on Bill Clinton to Endorse Obama
Time to CRY Hill DOG
She is such a LOSER
Fantastic!!!!  Basically, with the lead she has in WV even if she nets all of them, they would be canceled out with the supers received today and over the weekend!!!

OBAMA 08
Ya! baby  Here comes the FLOOD!!!
a typo in your 7-0 update.... in the text it still says it's his "fifth" pick up of the day.... but now it's the seventh....

;-)
Keep 'em coming!!!

OBAMA '08!
Wow, today is turning into a BIG day for Obama!!!! It won't be long now....

Obama '08
YES WE DID!!!!
Does this count as a flood??  I just hope the SD's can save the Democratic party!
My deepest congtulations.....we WIll band together and change this country back to an economically sound, morally right, prosperous nation for everyone.  OBAMA 08
