Delegate Weekender

Posted: Friday, May 09, 2008 6:43 PM by Domenico Montanaro

From NBC's Domenico Montanaro
We have noted the seven superdelegates Obama picked up today, by our count. Clinton got one and lost one.

However, in auditing our lists, we found were missing three, after talking with the Clinton campaign. NBC NEWS has confirmed their backing of Clinton and adjusted our count.

The NBC NEWS delegate counts:
PLEDGED: Obama 1,590, Clinton 1,426
SUPERS: Clinton 277.5, Obama 269
TOTAL: Obama 1,859, Clinton 1,703.5.

* There are 248.5 undeclared superdelegates (about 50 of which are not named yet).

* Obama has picked up 99 since Super Tuesday to Clinton's 17.5.

* Obama is 166 away from the magic number of 2,025.

*** UPDATE *** The Clinton campaign announced the endorsement of Rep. Ciro Rodriguez (TX-23).

Msnbc is babying Obama again... You mention the "informal" foreign policy advisor who "stepped down".. Well you can sugar coat it all you want, it doesn't change the fact that Obama is linked with Hamas in some way, shape or form. Obama fired him, he didn't step down. Do you think he met with Hamas to have tea?
Obama is a scary individual and you (the media) are to blame for us not getting the skinny on Obama before it's too late. Your not doing your job.
It upsets me that Barack will soon have to pay Hillary's bills, to bring the Dem Party together.

Hillary reinforces the worst stereotypes about women.  She is hysterical, irrational, cannot manage money and only got to where she is because of who is she married to.

And now another man, Obama, is going to have to bail Hillary out of the financial mess her campaign is in!

Pathetic!

Signed,

a single working woman who knows how to stick to a budget,

On CNN's Larry King Live Clinton surrogate Carole Simpson just strongly inferred that the Dems need to nominate Hillary because a significant number of her supporters are too racist to vote for a black man - thus, confirming what Hillary truly meant with her "hard-working white people" comment.
Who were those three masked supers?  Unmask them.  If you are naming all the newly declared SD's, why not name these "lost" souls?
I guarantee at least a dozen Hillary Superdelegates have jumped ship, but just haven't told anyone yet.  I can't wait to hear the inevitable spin on WV.
I campaigned for Kennedy at 14, but lost interest with candidates until recently...  I backed the Clinton's...  I felt they were RIGHT for the country, and they were then...  They aren't now...

If only we could have had McCain at his prime in 2000, rather than the 'new' McCain...  I believe it would have been a very different world today.

This is the 1st election my sons and I agree..  Obama
Obama/Casey 08
obama is getting the flood goooooooooooooooooooooo obama 08
Chuck Todd--Please do some projection magic.  If Obama splits the remaining pledged delegates, how many supers will he need?  I wonder if they are already in Barack's stables, waiting to be trotted out. Chuck, when do you think the big names like Biden will declare?
Margaret---in Seattle
I cound not agree with your more. I too have been a registered democrat my entire life, however this
is not the party that it once was. The values
from which it was built have been lost and replaced
with shameful acts of division and arrogance.
It is no wonder, the Republicans win elections-they
stand together as a party and suppport each other.
One is not sacrificed for the sake of another. The
democrates talk of party unity and unity within
the party-- they talk the talk, but don't
walk the walk....for shame of the party leaders
The Clintons again have humiliated and embarrassed themselves and the Democratic Party ,once again..Someone please help them out.......
If any super delegates from Illinois or Iowa go to Clinton, I am going to be SO on their case, as I live right on the border.  PLEASE let's end this.  I want the fight to be against McCain, not against the Clintons, whom I have admired, respected, and defended over the years.  PLEASE let's unite, Democrats!  Supers, it's your JOB to be leaders.  Help UNITE us!
Why can't NBC simply make public a spreadsheet of their superdelegate count? Then readers could compare it to other media outlets and sort out the discrepancies. It's really ridiculous that each media organization has different numbers. It's not that complicated.
Obama doesn't want the supers to take him over the top so he's holding them back so that Oregon can put him over the top.
I am glad that the superdelegates are smarter than Hillary who cannot figure out the MATH even if she is given the FL. & MI delegates still she will not have enough to get her to the finishing line.  I have a good suggestion that she can go to Zamunda and be a life time president, since she really want to be a commander in chief.

She is not fighting for us but for herself, think about it she gave her campaign millions, hoping to go and make more millions when she got back in white house. It is over go home Hillary with some dignity.
I belive Hill's motivation is only herself. She is so power hungry. Hill's supporters, beware, she does not care about you or anyone else but herself. It shows in her eyes and her body language. Her gesture just so fake.. can't you see?
Ah, but there is always Florida and Michigan....

Hillary Clinton should immediately announce a third party run for the presidency. I am sick and tired of the losers like Dean and Kerry asking me for money on a daily basis to support the DNC when they repeatedly told me for months that the vote I cast this week shouldnt count, and somehow, they know what is better and the democratic process they created should be abandoned! Anyone who voted for Clinton or who voted for Obama and realize they made a mistake, after Wright, and Resko, should email Hilliary's campaign and urge her to run as an independent! Maybe the only way mainstrean democrates and moderate republicans can take this country back is to start over with a party that brings MAIN STREAM AMERICA back! Seriously, I am FED UP with the media and loser political figures on both sides of the aisle telling me how I should vote! Its our country and I really think it is about time we take this back!If ANYONE on clintons campaingn reads this, You can take america back form the far left and far right and put this country back on course!
you obama supporter like him with your holyer then thow attudes makeing your snide remarks lowrateing Hillary and her supporters every chance you got and all the press who everyone could see was aginst her from the get go yall are the ones who have caused division amoung the dems not HILLARY and come november when over a million dems vote mccaine or stay at home need not blame anyone but yourselfs just something to think about while you are gloating now and i am not bitter just stateing facts we all know to be true

Wow!!  If Hillary was ahead of Obama, the superdelegates would be come out for her in droves.  I am disgusted with this spineless group of people.  Superdelegates please stand up to your title and be super not scary.  End this meaningless race and support the demoncratic nominee Sen Obama.  The Republicans have a better plan than Dems.  They know how to come together for the good of their party.  It is okay for the Clintons to lose.  It builds character.  America please remember hard working people are of all races.  Vote unity, Vote Obama.
Let's see if we have this straight: Her Hillaryness wins PA, IN, OH, TX, CA, NY, MA and others, and is expected to win WV and KY within the next few days, all states that Dems need to win to take the White House. Right?

Please tell me again why she should drop out, and why Sen. Obama (D-Buyer's Remorse) is the strongest candidate?

Thank you.
Hillary reminds me of Baghdad Bob.  Insisting that Iraq was winning the war with the bombs falling all around him lol
I'm beginning to honestly wish this dreadful nomination process were already over. I honestly wish the supers would just DECIDE already and end the insanity. Do they not realize that everyone is suffering from politics exhaustion?
Maybe WV and KY will see through Hillary's racist charade by Tuesday and realize that she does not speak for working class people of all colors when she plays her racist card. Have no doubt, she is and always has been a racist and only now, when her hour in the spotlight has dimmed and her facade is crumbling, does she reveal her true color, that of a radical white racist. Super delegates who do not share her biased idealogy need to speak up right now and show that the Democratic Party really does welcome anyone regardless of skin tone, religion, economic level, sexual orientation, etc. They need to completely and forever dismiss this kind of negative, discriminatory rhetoric  and become the political party for common sense change that will benefit anyone, no matter what color plaid they are.
I don't think there's any descriptive words for Hillary. Except that she's like a mad dog. It's a shame her behavior is a sign of power hunger. And that's maybe because she and her husband owes alot to some lobbyists, the Washington politics that she's so anxious to win even if she has to steal the nomination just so she can deliver. The Clintons think and believe they are above all. What a lunatics!!!
