Obama takes superdelegate lead

From NBC's Domenico Montanaro
Barack Obama has overtaken Hillary Clinton in the NBC NEWS superdelegate count with the endorsement of Hawaii's Dolly Strazar. This is his second of the day and puts him now officially over the top, 277-276.5.

Obama has now picked up 21 superdelegates since last Tuesday's contests in North Carolina and Indiana. Clinton has picked up 1.5

The NBC NEWS delegate counts:
PLEDGED: Obama 1,590, Clinton 1,426
SUPERS: Obama 277, Clinton 276.5
TOTAL: Obama 1,867, Clinton 1,702.5

*** UPDATE *** Another super to announce
Idaho Democratic Party Chairman Keith Roark, currently uncommitted, will endorse a presidential candidate at a press conference in Boise at about 2 p.m. ET, the state party confirms. The party was mum on who he’d endorse, but at least one Idaho blog’s speculation is he’d be for Obama. Obama won the state’s caucus overwhelmingly, 80%-17%. Obama netted 12 delegates in the state, which the Obama campaign famously touted as a larger gain than Clinton got out of New Jersey. Clinton netted 11 out of the Garden State.

OOOHHHHH YEAAAAH !

POOR HILLARY !
Obama's website states he has a total of 1872 (280 SD) with only 153 more to obtain the magic number of 2025 !
Hooray, I have to LOL.

Every counter has a different count, allowing Obama more "bragging rights" as he overtakes the SD count with a different super on each of these services.

But in honor of First Read, I'll woot it up for this super putting him over the top here.  Go Hawaii!!
Thrilling breaking news that Obama has overtaken "Desperate" Hillary in the superdelegate lead with his second endorsement of the day.

Personally I like that there has been a spread in the various news organizations's superdelegate count.  From Saturday's AP announcement that Obama overtook "Kitchen Sink" Clinton to today's NBC/MSNBC proclamation of the same I've enjoyed this headline that keeps on giving.  So much for the supers saving her political bacon from getting friend crispy.

Go Obama 08/12!
Well Hello, Dolly..  Where ya been, Dolly...

It's so nice to have you back where you belong...

Sorry...  Mom's favorite song...  LIFE IS GOOD!!
ALLLLLLLL..RIIIIIGHT !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Right On!
21 supers to 1.5.  Wolfson says, "if he wants to beat her, let him beat her."  How many ways can this woman be bested before someone finally tells her to give it up?
Soooooooooooooo!!!  Does not impress me.  Just another misguided delegate.  Those delegates could go down in defeat in November.  Think about it.
I am grate to God that the superdelegates are supporting Barack Obama.

Perhaps, we can began to focus on the general election issues.
NBC-Nothing But Crap.

You people are ridiculous. At least Faux Noise is noise that I can listen to once in a while.  Excitement in WV...Only if there's a sequel to the movie Deliverance!
I gave it two hours and it didn't take 20 minutes.

Damn, I'm good!

Go, Barry. It's ya' birthday!

I like how you all throw in the word "officially" like First Read has some sort of special status...

But woooo!  Go Obama!
WOOHOO!!!!

Too bad Billary was too busy playing politics with race to see the train coming!!!
why does MSMBC's SD count have Obama with the smallest lead (versus what every other news organization is reporting)???
Obama will get his butt kicked in November.

I am ready for President John McCain.

At this point I am ready for a bush 3rd term.At least we know John McCain loves this country. The USA doesn't need a radicals like the Obamas.
It is time to unify the party. I remember when Barack was behind by 100 superdelegates.  Come on superdelegates.  Let's get to the matter at hand- stopping McCain.
Go Senator Obama.
drip drip drip
Steve. NewYork NY said

Remember, this is not 1998, 2000 or 2004.
And the more that people under-estimate and dis-respect Obama , the more he wins !

Hey Steve,

I have news for you buddy, the more the Obama supporters with their "They think they're better than everyone else" attitude, disrespects everyone who is not in love with, and will not support Obama, the more you and the rest of the Obama supporters are under estimating the people who can't stand Obama, his wife, and more importantly, his supporters and as a result, Obama will pay in November and there isn't a dam thing you or any of the Obama supporters can do about it.

As Rasputia said to Norbit:"How YOU(Hillary) doin'!!?"
Now that's what I'm Talkin' About!  Wolfson, McCauliffe you are WRONG!!!  Watch out for the dust . . .!!
I can hear Dandy Don singing now "turn out the lights the party's over".  Time for "Kitchen Sink" Hillary to turn out the lights of her inevitable losing campaign and to show us Democrats that she's ready, willing, and able to start tossing that kitchen sink of hers at the McCain's "Hypocrisy" Express

Go Obama 08/12!
Most excellent news!  And I agree, I like that Obama is getting headline after headline as different news organizations show him overtaking Hillary's SD lead.
Thank you Dolly Strazar, an Obama, Hawaiin sister from Barack's old hood!!!

Speaking of Tribalism, Pat Buchanan was defending Hillary's , 'hard working white people' comment, as it is what it is, instead of denouncing it as divisive.

Consider this. Lincoln was right when he said, "A house divided cannot stand". How did he know that?

As a student of history, Good Old Abe had learned how tribalism had not served Native Americans, or Africans. Had the masses of either of these respective continents been unified, it would have been impossible to conquer them.

The Holy Scriptures say, "Stand together as a cemented wall, least your power depart".

Nuff said?

Dems unite!!!
we Hillary supporters will not supported Obama we do not believe in hate,we believe in united
Chuch, Dom, et al...

Can you go back and tell us what Clinton's lead was in Supers before Iowa and before Super Tuesday?

Thanks in advance.
It's obvious that patty, sd, ca was never a true Democrat if she's willing to side with the true enemy of America "Hypocrisy" McCain.  Her hypocritical bashing of Obama will fit in just fine with the elitist repugnant ones of the Bush/Cheney Tyranny.

Go Obama 08/12!
Something everyone should see about McCain:

Hillary support in WV :

Like most people in Mingo County, West Virginia, Leonard Simpson is a lifelong Democrat. But given a choice between Barack Obama and John McCain in November, the 67-year-old retired coalminer would vote Republican.

“I heard that Obama is a Muslim and his wife’s an atheist,” said Mr Simpson, drawing on a cigarette outside the fire station in Williamson, a coalmining town of 3,400 people surrounded by lush wooded hillsides.

Josh Fry, a 24-year-old ambulance driver from Williamson, insisted he was not racist but said he would feel more comfortable with Mr McCain, the 71-year-old Vietnam war hero, in the White House. “I want someone who is a full-blooded American as president,” he said.

That's about it ! The brave ones unite against for a new   chapter in the American History. The time of the dynasties has past !
I LOVE THE FACT THAT HE HAS THE LEAD BUT I STILL THINK OF IT LIKE THIS THEY NEED TO PAIR TOGETHER OR PICK THE WHITE WOMAN FROM KANSAS OR JUST GET ON THE TICKET TOGETHER LIKE A MARRIAGE SOMETHING OLD SOMETHING NEW SOMETHING WHITE SOMETHING BLUE .BECUASE IF HE DONT PICK HER AS A RUNNING MATE THEY WILL SET HIM UP
Isn't it about time!

Geesh...I am SSOOOOOO Ready for this to be over with.

I am very politically active and love the season...this one just wears on me. I think it is the fact that it is so polarized has led to that result.
Eric, I am one of those who went after the press this morning. I am as big an Obama supporter as anyone. My point was - enough with the race baiting by the media. I do remember what they did to Obama over the Rev. Wright issue. It was disgusting.  The round the clock coverage of what Hillary Clinton said needs to stop. It's just one more example of exploitation.

Enough is enough. People need to grow up. Hillary Clinton is just about out of this. She lost, and for good reason.

Restraint is what is needed right about now.
Hillary Clinton has lost the democratic nomination and no matter what you think about that, Barack Obama needs your support to become President of the United States.  You need Barack Obama to become President of the United States!  The country is in trouble - war, recession, healthcare, energy, housing and credit crisis, jobs, jobs, jobs.

The talking point goes something like this: John McCain, another four years of George Bush policy.

This is an accurate analysis of what John McCain, via his website, campaigning and press engagements has expressed to the American public.  With that he will continue the era of smear politics, corporate control, etc.

Hillary may have been your choice for the nomination, but she won't be the nominee.  How does that translate into a vote for John McCain.  The threat of which is ridiculous.  The party can't overturn the peoples choice because some will pout and not play.
It's obvious that many Clinton supporters were never true Democrats if they're willing to side with the true enemy of America - "Hypocrisy" McCain.  Their hypocritical bashing of Obama will fit in just fine with the elitist repugnant ones of the Bush/Cheney Tyranny.

Go Obama 08/12!
Patty, sd, ca:

A SOLUTION FOR ALL OF THIS:

1.WVa, Ky and southern Ohio can leave the union and set up a new country.
2. Hilary Clinton can be named president, Bill Clinton can be named VP, Lanny Davis can be named AG, James Carville can be named Sec. of State and Wesley Clark can form a new army.
3. All those hard working whites can live in bliss forever.
4. You can move there and become "patty, potlick, ky".
5. The rest of us can go about changing this country under Barack's leadership!
Let's take a vote.

How many of us think that after the next, say, 10 supers, we begin to bundle them?

Otherwise there could be as many as 15 articles a day announcing wuper alone!

Ain't this fun?!!!!!!
Hooray!!!The ship has set sail, all the crew is on deck and we have the wind at our back.

Now stand by for the deadly undercurrent from Clinton minions and watch out for the iceburg that won't melt named Hillary.

Go Obama Go!
go bamma go, bamma be good!
The stupidity and ignorance in these comments is astounding. No matter which nominee you prefer, please try to think before you type.
Al you Hillary supporters are just going to pay for the money she loaned her campaign then she will concede.
NO Hillary VP Pleassssssssssse. upstate NY 4 Obama
Na-na-na-na
Na-na-na-na
Hey-hey-hey
Good-bye (Hillary)
patty San Diego you are a fool, living in San Diego you are surrounded by the very military that you wish to send to indefinate war. Why because a black man is getting the Democrats nomination. I pity people like you that have hatred built in against people different than themselves. By the way I saw someone lie and say that Obamas Campaign was having people blog in First Read, That is another lie.   Patty the world does not need radical racist like you.
I just can't wait for Hillary's camp to claim that the new "must win" for Obama is Puerto Rico.
WooHoo! Go McCain 08' and Hillary can try again in 12'.  Obama will be a memory by then.
Patty, your 'bitterness' is showing. Really, you're ready for a Bush 3rd term, and give up on all the issues you supposedly supported when you were for Clinton? So, you're not for better health care, ending the war in Iraq, tax breaks for the middle class, and a woman's right to choose? Good going Patty. It shows that Clinton didn't really stand for much if her most loyal supporters can give up on issues that affect people's lives so easily. Sounds like maybe the ONLY reason you supported Clinton was because of gender. Sad Patty. Very sad.
One more step closer to a McCain Presidency!
Anyone who supports a third Bush term does not support our brave overworked troops!  Anyone who votes for "Warmonger" McCain is supporting enslaving our troops with the stop-loss policy where our brave troopers have been abused with so many multiple combat tours.  He doesn't even support better education benefits for veterans because he wants to keep abusing them with more and more combat tours.

Time to send all his supporters over to Iraq, pay them crappy wages and ensure their families are split apart for long periods of time over and over again.

Go Obama 08/12!
