Obama gains yet another super

Posted: Monday, May 12, 2008 1:53 PM by Domenico Montanaro

From NBC's Domenico Montanaro
Obama has gained yet another superdelegate, Hawaii Sen. Daniel Akaka. Akaka is the second Hawaii superdelegate to announce today and the third superdelegate overall to go to Obama since this morning.

Idaho Democratic Party Chairman R. Keith Roark will endorse a presidential candidate some time after 2 p.m. ET. Obama won the state overwhelmingly, 80%-17%.

Obama has now picked up 22 superdelegates since last Tuesday's contests in North Carolina and Indiana. Clinton has picked up 1.5.

*** UPDATE *** Roark is officially now for Obama, the Obama campaign confirms. Roark is the fourth today for the Illinois senator.

The NBC NEWS delegate counts:
PLEDGED: Obama 1,590, Clinton 1,426
SUPERS: Obama 279, Clinton 276.5
TOTAL: Obama 1,869, Clinton 1,702.5

And the BEAT GOES ON!!!!!!!
DING...DONG...THE WITCH IS DEAD!

OBAMA/08
I could almost feel sorry for Hillary Clinton, if she weren't such a corrupt, condescending person.  A year ago, she was so smug.  The nomination was a done deal before anyone voted.  Who was this Obama guy, who dared challenge Queen Hillary?

What a difference a year makes.  A lot of her supporters are saying that Obama has no chance in the G.E.  If this is true, it only proves that Hillary had no chance either.  Have you checked out her negatives?  They are off the charts, and with good reason.  Why would anyone support someone who takes such pride in her corrupt behavior?  She shamelessly steals furniture from the White House, and gives it back only after the Justice Departments orders her to.  She conveniently "loses" billing records and then "finds" them after the statutue of limitations expires.  She terminates Federally protected employees as if it say, "your laws don't apply to me".  She blames the victims for her husband's repulsive personal behavior, instead of blaming, oh I don't know, her husband?  She panders for votes, promising to make the oil companies pay the gas tax, without explaining why they couldn't just raise prices again to cover the tax.

Aside from Nixon, I cannot recall a more corrupt politician.  She is getting exactly what she deserves.

Obama/Anyone but Hillary 2008!  Integrity matters and the Clintons have none.
Four today and there will probably four more at least on Tuesday, and another four at least on Wednesday.  So, these 12 new SD's for Obama will negate HRC's pledged delegate net of 12 in West Virginia.

But anyway, why continue with this SD count?

MSNBC should be concentrating on the general election.

Hey MSNBC, report on the McCain and Hagee relationship.

As was said on Morning Joe, is there a double standard here?
What the heck is up with Hillary Clinton's phony accent? In footage today, she talks about JFK not having enough pledged delegates and why WV still matters in the delegate race. These might be fine points to make but why adopt a phony down home one of the po' folk voice to make her case?

Honestly, can this woman not do a single genuine thing?
You know I've never been to West Virginia, but "if" they are smart there they would help Hillary by actually "letting" her down and by voting for Obama.
"If" they were compassionate there they would actually be "letting" her down by ever so painfully voting for Obama.
"If" they were unfearful they would see that they could help unitfy the Democratic pary by voting for Obama....
The problem is with all the "Ifs" ..... "If" the situation were reversed would I vote for Clinton???....probably not....and so I do understand....it's too bad Hillary supporters don't really understand their candidate...
What a loss for Hillary's last demographic hope!

What a loss for hard-working white people!

What a loss for Crown Royal shooters and AK-47 Bambi killers (sportsmen).

What a loss for people who have been assaulted all night in a UFO back of daddy's barn.
Mahalo Sen. Akaka.  Vote for Obama and we call unite this country and spread Aloha to everyone.  God bless.
Hurrican Super-Delegates will make Hurrican Katrina look like a splash in a kiddie pool. Hillary do you smell what Barack is cookin?

Thank you goes out to all the super-delegates who have sided with Barack. No more excuses for the rest. Time to come home to team Obama!

We can officailly call this "THE FLOOD"
Wow, it's almost staggering how quickly the superdels are endorsing. Let's hope they keep it up -- regardless whom they're for -- just to get to the end of this quickly. Thank you, superdels
More of a drizzle than a drip  ;)
I voted for Obama in Feb. and this is a prayer answered! For the record please tell Clinton,I'm 65,whit,female and Catholic.and Obama has my vote! Also,Obama's mother was white and if alive today would be 64. Guess he would also have her vote! This non-sense about his getting these voters is just that-a clinton spin and the media allows her to get by with it! Sad deal!
Keep'em coming. We need to finish this tonight so we can focus on McCain.
