The polls will widen even more once Barack Obama becomes the presumptive nominee.

Uh, but how can that be? Obama is supposed to be unelectable?

Once again, people without a clue doing polls. Here's a couple of questions for the polls. What red states does Hillary or Obama win? What blue states do either of them lose?

It was so exciting last night. The next President was in my town. VanAndel Arena holds about 19,000 people and there were thousands still waiting to get in when the fire Marshalls closed the doors. I ran home to watch it on local TV and MSNBC. The Edwards’s appearance and endorsement was a total surprise to most in attendance. It was just electric. I am so proud of the support that showed up. Grand Rapids is a very heavy republican part of the state and I'm now convinced that we will carry this state by a big margin over McSame. What a brilliant political move by changing the headlines in the prime time news cycle. For the first time in my adult life I am proud to be part of a movement that will change our country and the world for the better, for generations to come.

Why is Hillary allowed to continue her campaign when she is 20 million dollars in debt?  She should be forced to suspend her campaign until all of her creditors are paid.  She and her terrorist pardoning husband made 109 million dollars over a ten year period.  Why don't they pay the people who extended them credit for their presidential run?

I guess times are hard for them.  That is what happens when you can't abuse the presidential pardon process for financial gain.

Certainly gas prices will continue to rise as the Democrats continue to implement more so called eco-friendly regulations such as we can't drill for oil, can't build nukes, and can't build refineries.

This is why Clinton's argument (and by the way what the media is parroting like a bad recording) is incorrect when you try to apply primary exit-polling data to the general election.

There is too much built-in bias when you ask partisan primary-goers what they plan on doing 7 months later.

The general population polls that ask random voters who they will support is much more accurate and precise.  

Obama does not need West Virginia or Kentucky to win the General Election.  In fact, he can even sacrifice Florida to McCain and still win easily.  The 2008 electoral map and the mood of the electorate is completely different than in past elections.

I would figure she needs to raise her own money to fix her screwups with her own checkbook.

$33,100 is quite a jump from $2400 (or is it $2800?  Can't remember...)

Why is there such a discrepancy here between the two amounts?  Does anyone know?

My advice is to continue to give to the campaign of your choice until the nominee is actually named officially.  Otherwise, if HRC does end up stealing the election your hardworking money won't go into her grubby little hands.

I will not donate to the DNC fund because they said that it can be used to help pay off the campaigns as well.  I do not think it's right for -anyone- to have to pay back Hillary Clinton for personal money she loaned her own campaign.

t is not about the “white” blue collar base, it is about winning states to get enough electoral votes. Remember that those same voters have voted Republican and polls show they will vote that way in 2008. The news media needs to step outside the box and quit talking about the traditional swing states.

What is more interesting is that Obama’s 50 state campaign concept could mean a  landslide not only for the Democratic Presidential Candidate but for the Democratic Party. If you use the latest April General Election Polls per state, found on usaelectionpolls.com, Obama is beating McCain by 277 to 242.

He is ahead of McCain in Colorado, Iowa, Michigan, Nevada, New Hampshire, New Mexico and tied in North Carolina. Hillary is behind McCain in all these states and tied with McCain in Michigan.  

Here is list of swing states that could go Democratic and the % lead by McCain.

Alaska – 5% - 3 Electoral Votes
Montana – 5% - 3 Electoral Votes
Nebraska – 3% - 5 Electoral Votes
Ohio – 2% - 20 Electoral Votes
South Carolina – 3% - 8 Electoral Votes
South Dakota – 4% - 3 Electoral Votes
Texas – 1% - Yes, my Home State of Texas! 34 Electoral Votes

Virginia has an 8% spread and 13 Electoral Votes. the Obama campaign should be able to win it as well.

Obama’s should select a Vice Presidential running mate that can help him win these “new” swing states.  I would love for it to be a woman, not Hillary her base plans to vote Republican, but someone who will give him the Latino Vote if he wants Texas.

In the state senate he sponsored 780 bills, of which 280 were signed into law.  In the U.S. senate he has sponsored about 152 bills and resolutions (YOU MEAN YOU DON’T KNOW EXACTLY HOW MANY BILLS AND RESOLUTIONS?), and cosponsored about 427 (AGAIN, YOU DON’T KNOW ENOUGH ABOUT YOUR CANDIDATE TO KNOW EXACTLY HOW MANY?).

2. He worked as a community organizer in Chicago, making $13 an hour, helping thousands of people who had lost manufacturing jobs get back on their feet (jobs, health care, housing).  He also helped register 150,000 voters.  BIG DEAL, WHAT ABOUT ALL THE PEOPLE IN THIS COUNTRY THAT WORK AS VOLUNTEERS AND COMMUNITY ORGANIZERS EVERY DAY FOR FREE, THAT’S IMPRESSIVE? GETTING PAID $13 DOLLARS AN HOUR WHEN YOU’RE DOING COMMUNITY WORK IS NOT IMPRESSIVE.  WELL OBVIOUSLY IT IS TO OBAMA SUPPORTERS.

3.  Obama sponsored  the Health Care Justice Act in 2004, which "encourages Illinois to implement a health care plan that provides access to a full range of preventive, acute and long-term health care services."   WHICH “ENCOURAGES” ILLINOIS TO “IMPLEMENT?”  YOU MEAN HE DIDN’T WRITE THE LEGISLATION?  AND THE BEST THEY COULD COME UP WITH IS TO “ENCOURAGE” ILLINOIS TO IMPLEMENT?  

4.  He sponsored a 2003 bill that expanded KidCare and FamilyCare, health insurance programs for low-income families in Illinois which led to more than 150,000 additional people receiving health insurance through these programs.   AND YOU THINK THAT THERE ARE ONLY 150,000 IN ILLINOIS WITHOUT HEALTH INSURANCE, I DON’T THINK SO, TRY 1.75 MILLION!  WHAT HAS HE DONE FOR THE OTHER 1.6 MILLION?  ANSWER, NOTHING!

5. He introduced a bill that required that police officers tape interrogations.  This bill passed in the Senate 58-0.  The Governor who originally opposed this bill, signed it into law.   WOW TAPING INTERROGATIONS, THAT’S SOME WORLD SAVING, IMPRESSIVE STUFF GOING ON THERE.

6. He increased the minimum wage from $5.15 to $6.50.   HE INCREASED?  HE PERSONALLY INCREASED THE MINIMUM WAGE?  THAT’S THE PROBLEM WITH OBAMA AND HIS SUPPORTERS, OBAMA VOTES YEA ON A BILL (VOTING ON BILLS IS HIS JOB BTW) AND HE AND HIS SUPPPORTERS TAKE CREDIT FOR AUTHORING, AND PERSONALLY PASSING INTO LAW, THE BILL.  BTW, THE PRESIDENT ACTUALLY SIGNS BILLS INTO LAW.  AND WHAT ABOUT THE OTHER 99 SENTAORS AND THE 435 MEMERS OF THE HOUSE, THEY DIDN’T HAVE ANYTHING TO DO WITH THE MINIMUM WAGE BEING INCREASED?  UH YEAH, I THINK THEY DID.

7. Obama cosponsored Secure Orderly Immigration Act by John
McCain. It passed 62-36.  YEAH, BY JOHN MCCAIN.  GET IT, JOHN MCCAIN, JUST LIKE THE MCCAIN/FEINGOLD BILL THAT OBAMA SUPPORTED AND HE AND HIS SUPPORTERS HAVE BEEN RUNNING AROUND ACTING LIKE IT WAS ALL OBAMA’S IDEA AND WHAT I GREAT IDEA IT WAS.  NICE TRY, BUT IT WAS MCCAIN AND FEINGOLD’S IDEA, THAT WHY THE BILL IS OFFICIALLY REFFERED TO AS MCCAIN/FEINGOLD, GET IT?  AGAIN, TRYING TO TAKE CREDIT FOR SOMETHING HE DIDN’T DO.

8. He Worked with republican senator Lugar to expand and author a
program to locate & dismantle stray Russian WMD's left over
from the cold war after the disbanding of the USSR.   WOW, THAT’S AN ORIGINAL IDEA, NO ONE HAS EVER THOUGHT OF THAT BEFORE.

9. In the first two weeks of the 110th Congress, Senator Obama helped lead the Senate to pass the Legislative Transparency and Accountability Act a comprehensive ethics and lobbying reform bill, by a 96-2 vote. This landmark bill was signed into law by the President in September 2007.  The final bill that the Congress passed closely mirrored and drew key provisions in a bill that Senators Obama and Senator Feingold introduced in January 2007 to establish a "gold standard" for reform   AGAIN, TRYING TO TAKE CREDIT FOR A BILL THAT WAS INTRODUCED AND AUTHORED BY MCCAIN AND FEINGOLD AND LIKE ALL BILLS, TOOK A MAJORITY VOTE OF BOTH THE HOUSE AND THE SENATE AND THE PRESIDENT SIGNING INTO LAW TO BECOME, A LAW.  NOT TO METION THE FACT THAT WHILE LOBBYIST CAN’T TAKE MEMBERS OF CONGRESS TO DINNER IN A RESTAURANT SITTING DOWN, THEY CAN STILL LOBBY MEMBERS OF CONGRESS AS LONG AS THEY’RE STANDING UP, AND THEY’RE EATING HOR’DOURVES WITH A TOOTH PICK AND THEY CAN DO IT ALL OF TWO BLOCKS FROM CAPITAL HILL IN TOWNHOUSE ROW.

10. He toured Kuwait, Jordan, Israel, Palestinian territories and told
Palestinian Authority Abbas that the United States would never recognize
Hamas leaders until they renounced mission to attack Israel.  FROM WHAT I HEAR, THE PALESTINIAN AUTHORITY HAS BEEN TRYING TO FIGURE OUT HOW THEY’RE GOING TO COMPLY WITH HIS DEMAND, LAST I HEARD THEY PLAN TO TELL HIM TO GO SCREW HIMSELF.

As an Illinois State Senator, he helped pass the state's first major ethics reform bill in 25 years.   SO FAR YOU’VE LISTED A COUPLE OF BILLS WHERE HE CLUNG TO THE COAT-TAILS OF OTHER PEOPLE WHO AUTHORED AND PUSHED THE BILLS AND THEN TOOK CREDIT FOR THEIR HARD WORK, TYPICAL OBAMA.  AND IF THESE EXAMPLES ARE THE BEST YOU CAN COME UP WITH IN A PITIFUL ATTEMPT TO TRY AND CONVINCE ANYONE HOW OBAMA IS GOING TO BRING THE ENTIRE COUNTRY TOGETHER WHEN HE CAN’T EVEN BRING THE ENTIRE DEMOCRATIC PARTY TOGETHER, (WINNING THE VOTES OF HALF THE PARTY DOESN’T GET IT) YOU’RE NOT DOING YOURSELF OR YOUR CANDIDATE ANY FAVORS!

Would you like me to go on?  Oh and here's an 11th accomplishment:  He beat the Clintons! Not just Hillary, but all three of the Clintons.  The Clinton brand is VERY powerful.  They have been on the political scene for decades.  Everyone is a familiar with them; they have strong ties with a whole host of Democratic leaders and many states as well.  I mean, they were Preisdent and First Lady for 8 years!  Obama was not really well-known outside of Illinois until 2004. Yet he has managed to run a better campaign than them and has beat them.  That's HUGE.

People shouldn't take the candidates and the media at their word.  Go to the candidates' Senate Web sites and their campaign Web sites and READ what they have done and plan to do.  INFORM YOURSELF.  

THANKS ONCE AGAIN FOR THE BAD ADVICE.  IT’S BECAUSE THE OBAMA SUPPORTERS HAVE BEEN TELLING PEOPLE FOR MONTHS TO GO TO HIS SITE AND INFORM THEMSELVES THAT THEY HAVE, AND THEY DON’T LIKE HIM OR WHAT HE REPRESENTS.  MORE IMPORTANTLY, THEY REALLY DON’T LIKE HIS INSULTING SUPPORTERS WHO ARE GOING TO COST HIM THE GENERAL ELECTION BECAUSE OF THEIR INSULTS.
