Nothing annoys me more than an idiot who incorrectly uses an historical analogy for political purposes. Unless Barack Obama plans on ceding the modern equivilent of Czechoslovakia to Iran George Bush is, yet again, talking out of his ass.

McCain would rather just issue threats and then act surprised when the attacks happen. How is America suppose to promote peaceful negotiations and show support for Israel without even talking to their enemies? You can't just issue threats and expect the problem to go away.

The whole "you attack them and we'll attack you" thing doesn't work anymore. Sometimes, to deal with your enemies, you need to sit down and have a conversation with them.

McCain is just digging himself a hole. His numbers are going to be effected by this, big time. He needs to distance himself from Bush, not embrace him. You don't embrace the President that 80% of America thinks is doing a bad job.

Dialog with our enemies, you know we use to do that once upon a time in this country.

Diplomacy, diplomacy you see it is always cheaper to talk first before you bomb and lay waste to our enemies.  Just think we may have been able to save over 4000 American lives in Iraq, and saved 12 billion a month if we kept talking.

We can not force our ideology on other countries beliefs; it has been proven trough out history!  If you want to use nukes or gasoline fire bombs and wipe out most of the population like we did in Germany and Japan it may have worked then, but now the rest of the world would think we are insane!

The one thing about Saddam Hussein he took no SHITT from any of these people that are controlling Iraq now!  Yes he was a nasty dictator that used the chemical weapons that the US gave him back in the 80’s to kill Kurdish threats and Iranian Solders. You see Saddam Hussein seen these people as threats to has regime and government, he knew how to handle these people.  Further, Iran was scared to death of him and did not dare to step foot Iraq.  We could have used Saddam Hussein as a puppet if we were smart!  We could have paid him to do our dirty work with Al Qaeda and Iran like we did in 80’s when Regan was president.  Bush does not know how to think on that level he is to arrogant and stupid to know he had everything going for him after 9/11.

You see by keeping Saddam Hussein in power until we got off of fossil fuels would have been the smart and prudent thing to do.  We could have positioned ourselves to deal with him on another level at a different time.  Bush just made the most bone-headed foreign policy mistake in our countries history hopefully the next president can get us out of this mess.

Why? Because history shows that diplomacy CAN work. Think about it, according to John McCain's philosophy, we will be enemies with Iran *forever*, or one of us will completely destroy the other. Those are the only two options. Well, Obama - and many others - see a third option. Sure, we'll probably never be buddy-buddy with the region, but that doesn't mean that diplomatic talks can't create a more stable relation within the Middle East (which is directly related to any possible threats we may face here at home).

McCain is a warmonger. He is of the mindset that we can somehow bomb our way to peace. And make no mistake, a McCain presidency WILL result in a serious confrontation with Iran, he has already made that quite clear.

Obama is right about talking with adversaries.

Persuasion is not the only potential benefit from talking with adversaries. Sometimes valuable information and perception can be gained, including critical insight into adversaries' intentions. A skilled person can read between the lines when lied to. Has our intelligence never failed us?

If he is so concerned about our brave Americans, bring them home.  If it weren't for this ridiculous war, there wouldn't be any American's over there for the Iranians to kill (which has proven to be a questionable link in its own right).

John McCain's political idol is Ronald Reagan, a president who sold arms to Iran and negotiated with terrorists and then lied about it to the American people. Besides, what has the Bush/McCain done to make Israel safer and the Middle East more secure? Hamas and Hizballah are stronger, the Palestinian territories and Lebanon are a mess, Iran (despite American occupation of two bordering countries) is stronger and more influential in the region, Iraq has been one big bloodbath, Pakistan is dangerous as ever, Afghanistan is far from under control and Osama bin Laden is a free man. So on what basis does George Bush or John McCain have the right to question anybody's foreign policy or national security credentials?!

Iran has not only increased its influence in the Middle East on Bush's watch, but it is on the verge of developing nuclear weapons. What makes Bush and McCain think that continuing Bush's policy towards Iran is going to improve things? Bush's foreign policy has been a monumental disaster and John McCain would further drive the reputation of our great country into the ground.

Senator McCain s walking a slippery-slope on this. This is exactly why they lost the last three specal elections. They are in panic mode in the campaign and that is when we all fall back on what we know. Just so turns out that THAT is exactly where the O team wants them, making this exact argument. Master chess playes. They are betting on the generational struggle and the nasty GOP polls on their job approval to have massive turn out. Folks, we are dealing with a brilliant man that is in tune with the coming wave like a Laird Hamilton (look him up).
Observe how the campaign has been playing the SDs, the press cycle, message continuity and pretty good management skills (couple of slip-ups). The man has a clear sense of history so he sees exactly where he is going and how he will get there.

John Mccain seems to have just lost the election.  In my view the absurd notion that we don't talk to other nations because we don't agree with them leads to a brick wall and fighting instead of aggressive negotiations and working on common ground that leads to results.  Good luck with this idea.  This is just stupid and I can't believe anyone would rationally agree with it.

Obama is going to knock Mccain out on this issue.
