Biden rips Bush

From NBC's Domenico Montanaro
Sen. Joe Biden (D-DE), chairman of the Senate Foreign Relations Committee absolutely tore into President George W. Bush for his comments from Israel, which appeared to take a swipe at Obama.

Bush said this morning, “Some seem to believe we should negotiate with terrorists and radicals, as if some ingenious argument will persuade them they have been wrong all along. We have heard this foolish delusion before. As Nazi tanks crossed into Poland in 1939, an American senator declared: 'Lord, if only I could have talked to Hitler, all of this might have been avoided.' We have an obligation to call this what it is -- the false comfort of appeasement."

An exasperated Biden skewered Bush over that in a conference call with reporters, calling the comments “pure politics,” “blatant,” “beneath the presidency,” “truly disgraceful,” “outrageous,” “disturbing,” “ridiculous hypocrisy” and “long-distance Swiftboating.” He even said Bush “oughta get a life.”

“For this president to go on the attack against Barack Obama,” Biden said. “It cannot go unanswered.” [Possible veep audition?]

Coupling Bush’s comments with McCain’s assertion that it’s clear who Hamas wants to be president, Biden said he sees “an ugly pattern emerging.”

He said the president should “get in touch with his administration.”

“I assume he’s going to fire his Secretary of State and Secretary of Defense,” Biden said. “They want engagement of Iran.”

He went on. “This is the kind of political rhetoric which continues to masquerade as policy,” Biden said. “All they have is masquerades.”

And… “This is why we’re in the situation we’re in,” he said, as he criticized Bush for “demonizing” Democrats.

Bush “should try to figure out how to dig us out of the God awful hole this president has gotten us into.” He added that when he travels abroad, “I don’t criticize the president” --no matter how much they might disagree on various facets of foreign policy. In fact, he said he has defended the president when abroad.

Biden also sharply criticized Bush’s -- and John McCain’s, for that matter -- Mideast policy, or in McCain’s case lack thereof, Biden said. He called Bush’s policy an “abject failure,” “truly delusional” and “backwards.”

“The president’s saber rattling has been the most self-defeating policy imaginable … spurs instability in the Middle East … increase in price of oil … plays into the hands of those Iranian leaders he rails against.

“Since when, since when has talking removed no from the American vocabulary.

More: “This is the same president, who talks about appeasement, the same one who asks me to get on a plane and talk to Qaddafi,” Biden said. “The same president who made a deal with Qaddafi. He writes letters, ‘Dear Mr. Chairman’ to Kim Jong Il.

“He oughta get a life here … Under George W. Bush’s watch, Iran, not freedom has been on the march … They’re a lot closer to the bomb… He calls Maliki our guy … Whose policy produced that? Whose watch was that? … Iran’s proxy Hezbollah is on the ascendancy. Don’t take my word for it, look at NIE … Afghanistan, Pakistan, Al Qaeda is stronger now.

“We should take zero backseat to this pres, talking about appeasement. … Under him, Israel is less safe.”

Biden also admitted to initially calling Bush’s comments “bull----.”

“I reacted viscerally,” he said. “But the essence of what I said was accurate. I should have said malarkey.”

Hamas would love for Obama to be President. They, Hamas, would be in the White House Rose Garden signing meaningless peace treaties (Arafat anyone?) all the while continuing with their role as terrorists. How naive someone like Obama, and Biden, must be to even think that they can negotiate with terrorists. This is the #1 reason why Democrats cannot be in control of the Executive branch.
This hapless wonder from Delaware wouldn't ever say this stuff directly to Bush. He's have a cowboy boot placed between his cheeks if he did.
Biden oughta get a life! I live in the sorry State of Delaware that Senator gas bag Biden represents & I still to this day never heard a human being more in love with the sound of his own voice. What have you accomplished for the tax payers of Delaware since 1972???
Spot on!
I love this guy.
Domenico Montanaro,

Don't be a fool!

You insinuated in parenthesis: "[Possible veep audition?]". It seems any democratic leader that says anything good about Obama is aiming at the VP slot. How stupid and "gossipy" can you pseudo-journalists be.

This is getting to a ridiculous proportion. Why can't you just report the news and let the readers make up their own minds? You guys are fond of doing this but considering how woefully wrong your predictions have been, especially concerning Obama campaign, shouldn't you have come to a realisation that you cannot influence the public?

Well, I guess that will be asking for too much. Joe "cry baby" Scarborough have predicted Obama's downfall on countless occassions meanwhile he has only gone from strength to strength. Same goes for the stupid old racist called Buchanan.

Why can't you guys just give us the news and SHUT THE HELL UP!!!!
How pathetic the Democrats in Congress have become, that just about anything that president Bush says is turned into pure horse manure.  I predict that if the Democrats take the White House, The Senate, and the House in November, the USA will experience pain like it has never experience in its 200 plus year history.
Should have listened to how Oberman tore up bush.  I wonder if he'll still have a job with MSMBC.  It was incredible.
Ok not bullshit, it was chickenshit from the chickenhawks, just like everything this administration does.
Biden, the guy who should be the nominee
Go Joe Biden!!!  Thank you.  That made me smile :)
Biden needs to sit down and be quiet. Everytime he opens his mouth he makes a complete fool out of himself. Did Biden even get 1% of the vote in the Democratic primary? There's a reason for that low number Joe. It means a lot of people don't agree with you.
Biden in right on target, yet Democrats had a chance to bring Bush to accountability but instead chose to keep impeachment "off the table". Democrats have a moral and Constitutional obligation to bring this rogue President into line with Constitutional separation and limits on the Executive's power. Impeachment is the vehicle to do so. As long as it is kept "off the table", Congressional Democrats are abdicating their responsibility to uphold the Constitution and contributing to the problem. Pelosi had no right to abdicate such a duty and should immediately serve notice to Bush that it is back on the table and proceeding at once. To do less is to aid and abet this immature and unprincipled tyrant, and history will be as unkind to cowardly Democrats as they will be to Bush.
Another great day on the market today! Thanks for the great economy President Bush! I'm sure Joe Biden will have something negative to say to you through the media about that too, but that man is to be ignored.
So according to Bush/McCain, Condi=Hitler...
Biden shouldn't have to apologize for calling Bush's policy bull----!!!   The American people have A LOT stronger words if the Chimp in Chief will come out of his bunker with Darth Cheney and actually listen to us!!!
Biden was right the first time. Bush's comments are pure bullsh*t. George W. Bush is an embarrassment to our great country. His final day in office can't ocme soon enough!
Joe Biden has forgotten more about foreign policy than the entire Bush administration knows.

I sincerely hopes that Obama chooses Biden as his running mate.  I know that DE is not a swing state and that Biden does not fit the "Outsider/Change" mold that Obama projects, but his experience and charisma more than outweigh these factors.

O'Biden in 08.

Tell 'em JOE!

Also TENNESSEE REPUBLICAN PARTY IS AN EMBARRASSMENT TO THE STATE OF TENNESSEE!

IGNORANCE KNOWS NO BOUNDS, IN TENNESSEE.

I SHOULD KNOW...I LIVE HERE!
“For this president to go on the attack against Barack Obama,” Biden said. “It cannot go unanswered.” [Possible veep audition?]

You guys aren't half as clever as you think you are...you're better than this...
People please remember that the first idiot, George W. Bush, is Republican.  He was put into office by Republicans.  Republicans are therefore responsible for the Iraq War.  Republicans are therefore responsible for the current recession.   Republicans are therefore responsible for empowering the oil companies and leaving us at their mercy.  This is the George W. Bush legacy. This is the legacy of the Republican Party.  Stop the Republicans before they elect again.
Vote for Barack Obama.  He may be black and he may be male, but he is not a Republican.
When I go abroad I am ashame to admitt that I am US citizene simply because this President is a low level moran and when he talks, feels like I am listening to a 10 year old, not a president who supposed to have a brain.
Too bad Obama can't fight his own battles. This is why he won't debate Hillary anymore, he's just so weak at defending anything he says. Biden isn't much better, but at least he's doing something now rather then collection a paycheck for doing nothing in the Senate.
You had me at bull----.  You had me at bull----.

Call it the pure "BS" that it REALLY is!  Can someone PLEASE explain why Tweedle-Dee & Tweedle-DUMB are not being impeached?  Bush & Cheney are the embodyment of the Anti-Christ!

You go, Sen. Biden!  Rally the troops to begin impeachment proceedings!
Mr. Bush, read that bible you say you believe in, you know the one that says " a fool is known by many words". In case you can't understand that, my dad always told me thatnobody knows you are a dumb--- until you open your mouth. As Keith Olberman says, "Shut the hell up!"
Israel is the most powerful force in the Middle East. It has the best Military, and intellegence of all the Middle Eastern countries in the region. Their Air Froce is rated better ours. Our goevrnment and media need to stop lying to the American people about our need to protect Israel. If and when Israel think, Iran or any other country become a threat to them, I assure you and the American, Israel will take that country out. So stop using Israel as a political tool for the left and the far right.

Please stop it now. It's time for the American people to wake up and see through all of this.

Nice to see Babbling Biden crawl out from under his rock. Was wondering what ever happened to him. Good to see he's us nutty as ever. It's kind of nice when things stay the same.
thank you joe biden. I hope you are the short list for v.p.
Oh, so it's o.k. for that idiot Jimmy Carter to run around all over the world and put down a sitting president and it's o.k. for Al Gore, the guy who invented the internet, to run his mouth about president Bush, but boy, let the president say something that was not even directed at Obama personally and the libs and their conjoined commie cohorts start have a hissy fit. Listen to Matthews the Mouth on PMSNBC, you'd think Obama and he were married. Hey, if the president's comments hurt, the shoe must fit!!
Is Keith Olbermann still fighting the Ohio voting results for the presidental election from 2004? Haven't listened to Keithie-pooh much lately, his screaming tends to cause peoples ears to bleed.
Mr. Bush, read that bible you say you believe in, you know the one that says " a fool is known by many words". In case you can't understand that, my dad always told me thatnobody knows you are a dumb--- until you open your mouth. As Keith Olberman says, "Shut the hell up!"
What's going to be embarrassing is if Obama is the prez, and we see him on his knees begging Hamas or Iran for something. It will be kind of be like Madeline Notsobright back in the '90s dealing with the North Koreans or the Middle-East. It's going to be a pathetic thingto watch, and it will cost American lives.
$4.00 for a gallon of gas , $6.00 for a gallon of milk,$250,000.00 for the average home. Joe Biden priceless!!
To The Truth Hurts:

Does it especially hurt when you take that quote completely out of context and someone else calls you out on it?
"The Truth Hurts" --  are you really that stupid or are you trying to be funny?
"Face it: Obama's a guy with Musilm sympathies. This will show in his foreign policy, and the world will be a better or worse place for it.  I do not want to take my chances."

The Truth Hurts,

You are a fear mongerer and completly ignorant. Anybody with half a brain in there heads are not afraid of muslims. Christians have done far more violent things throughout history so I'm here to say..
Don't vote for Hillary! She believes in god! Remember the Spanish inquisition! Pretty dumb right? No more idiotic than the statement you just made. Did you somehow get a copy of the Karl Rove handbook?
Delaware Joe Got It Going On. Agreed?
I like.
We the rest of the world are watching you and want to see if u guys have the common sense (which is not so comon these days) to do the right thing and elect the candidate of change that will bring back the respect we once had for u and your country. We all know know who that candidate is, here's a hint: he understands what it is to be christian, muslim, poor, rich (elite), black and white. We are watching to see if you have the common sense to do what is good for you, your country and the rest of the world. It's up to you guys to earn back your respect or remind us again how you got yourselves into the mess you are in today.
VP attack dogs: Hillary or Biden, it's time for the VP campaign....they both bring something unique to the process, but what they bring is different, but they both can attack very well.
Kudos! Senate Biden.
